It all looks good on paper, but it's not realistic. Let's walk up the ramps so we dont play bad and use our leap early. Proceed to get melted while strolling on foot gg. Use leap get knocked off get melted or use defensives. Let's use your theory, get in the "smart" way cause we we're tricky enough to convince the ranged to follow us into melee range. That's a dumb ranged btw. But let's play it out. Now we get kb, but we've got our leap. Let's leap in and be smart go for the snare. Okay now we are stunned. Proceed to either get focused out, ranged speed boosts back to kiting range ignoring our snare and we either pop more cooldowns or get melted, rooted, second stunned to full resolve. Rooted which may as well be another stun .. With full resolve. You get the picture, we are constantly playing against the odds. Again we are not talking stomping random pugs, we are talking good players vs good players. We don't even need to get into insane scenarios like organized assist train operative, assassin combos and what they will do to you coming out of stealth. Seriously we have a good framework but aren't there.

Lol you said it. That 75-100k heals also isn't from berserk it's from spamming rakata and pvp heal ... Oh yeah and berserk.

An equally geared and skilled bh should own you in dmg while yes still having all the perks you mention and more. Even if you are lol stomping around every 20 secs feeling elite looking at big numbers from time to time. There is the same conversations going on over in the Mara forum. The level headed people seeing the strengths weakness of the dual light saber classes. And the same vocal l2p noob minority you have here.

When you are talking with other Mara that have pvped through 60 plus levels of valor there aren't many secrets. Sure you may have some slick tactics but really .. Secrets lol. Up up down down left right left right a b select before going into the warzone will give you a 15% dmg buff. Or pressing select In between rounds will heal you up if your Mara is named little Mac. No there are no secrets ... Sound tactics, pocket healers, guard ... Etc .. No secrets.

You have how many high rank mara responding here in this thread? Battlemasters and champions with years of experience in other mmos. Sure everyone can use knowledge to brush up and get a bit better, but we are not talking about that here. I'm pretty sure a Battlemaster knows the value of berseks self heal in the annihilation tree for example as well as the mechanics of predation for carrying the ball. Heck go one step further and the added value of ferocity speced predation. No we are talking about the core of the class, while still understanding what we are and aren't capable of. Mara is not horrible it's not even bad. It is not IMO where it needs to be offensively and it is lacking when compared to other class options out there.

You've got it. I'm a rank 64 battle master. Full champ or higher in every slot. We have a good frame work of a class, no we are not where we need to be though. We are waaaaay to far to the non burst side. Cc fest pvp does not allow for 3 or more gcds to start bursting. I'll give credit where credit is due, we have some fun and interesting defensives ... But in the end and on our most fundamental level we are a pure dps class that is lacking. It isn't about being able to have a lopsided game take a screenshot come to the forums and say l2p class is fine. Offensively we are not where we need to be as compared to other classes.

I was also wondering what at second tier carnage is mandatory for anni? Granted I do have enraged charge from tier 2 carnage but I don't feel it's mandatory.

If there is a program out there that I can use to record that won't bog my system down I can make some vids as well. So many epic fights!!! I only have 4 gigs of ram so need a recorder that won't lag me out.

I would def be interested in seeing a video. I haven't seen many anni pvp vids and it would be very interesting. I am the most feared Mara on my server for sure and I believe I am the only battle master Mara. Number wise I am in the top but I don't usually have #1 spot. Often though I will have the most killing blows and solo kills even if my total dmg done is lower. A lot of Mara on my server have started playing anni after seeing me shred targets with such ease. 400k dmg output is really high for me, I am usually in the 200-250 range. I rarely run with a healer and never run guarded. Also I play with a giant target on my back as most every 50 on my server empire and republic have been mowed down by me.

Broad sweeping generalizations are broad sweeping generalizations. Speaking from personal experience Ill take a rage Mara all day long opposed to carnage and annihilation. Rage is painfully predictable and easy to deal with IMO. I kind of lol at the can swap targets very easily. I don't really know what that means even? Think all Mara swap targets with the same effeciceny. I give rage it's credit. I have played the spec, it's good at what it does. But your criticism of the other specs is kind of out of line. Your derogatory attitude to your fellow Mara community is absolutely out of line and I would recommend that you drop the elitist attitude. Yes rage will pull big numbers but so will carnage and anni. What numbers are more important is subjective though.

Ya rage domnates lobbies and lesser geared 50s. Rage juggs and maras are all over my server and I tune them all as annihilation.

I am a Valor 61 Battlemaster marauder and I'm still using a GREEN saber I got leveling up to cap in my story. The most important item for a dps and still no love. My hilarious green saber has become a bit of legend now on my server as I am quite active in the pvp community and lots of people have a good laugh at the RNG luck I've had to Valor 61. The min dmg on the purple champion saber is HIGHER then the max dmg on my current saber lol.

Of course it's all subjective, but it's nice to see some actual info about the trees instead of "pwn with rage". I'm annihilation, valor 60 and I tend to agree with what you say about annihilation. When I play against level 50 premades that take longer to kill and have more health annihilation proves to be deadly. Also berserk is not just heals it is burst as well. 6 crits in a row after stacking some bleeds with a surge adrenal or trinket will wreck people. With the fury gen and short fuse you can rotate your trinkets, adrenals, pvp buffs to keep time with your auto crits. Or you can dump your load and stack multiple buffs and melt someone's health pool over a berserk phase. I do believe we will see more annihilation pvpers in the future when level 50 brackets are implemented.

One sniper should be literally torn apart by a well played Mara. Fighting 2 and you could be in trouble depending on what cooldowns you and the snipers have. Not easy but doable. 1 v 1 though you should pound a sniper. Also I am a valor 60 battle master Mara and very active within the Mara community on my server working with newer mara's answering questions etc. I frequently fight against champion level 50 premades and I know first hand we are very efficient at killing most every class. The more you learn about the other classes and what they do the better you will become at fighting them. I.E. - you don't fight a sniper the same way you fight and operative or the same way you fight a tracer spamming bh. Learn what tools you have within your tree. Figure out what stats help your tree out. When you get owned by a class take a minute and ask yourself .... *** just happened there?? Why did I just get owned. Heck even take a minute in the future and ask a capped out geared person of that class. Do all this and watch what happens to your effectiveness and satisfaction. Also, I play annihilation and love it. Start using all the tools you have and you will be a powerhouse. I've been accused of exploiting a couple times and seen people lose it by being owned so hard when the ususally face roll through everyone. so something's working. Good luck it is possible but it's not going to be as easy as hitting tracer tracer tracer tracer rail shot vent heat tracer tracer. It just won't be.

I play an annihilation marauder and my bleeds pop guys out of stealth for sure. Marauders force camo is a bit different though. It's a short term stealth ... 4 seconds. But damage does not uncloak the Mara to my knowledge. Also a Mara gets a 30% speed boos while cloaked and it's on a short cooldown 45 secs so they will probably use camo a lot. But ops/scoundrels sin/shadow I see lose stealth from bleeds lots.

Maybe for some I'm also a battle master and have not had my main hand saber, the most important piece of all drop. I'm still using a pos one. So no battle master doesn't guarantee anything. I've got 3 helms though, yay.

I am an annihilation Mara. I've played both rage and annihilation quite a bit. Annihilation is just more fun for me. More going on. With rage I can run around doing smashes and get 300-400k matches but I don't have as much fun. My highest game as annihilation was 320k and that's not common. You'll get bigger numbers as rage. But when I fight a rage jugg or Mara I chew them apart they are to one dimensional IMO. I don't feel rage is a very good small scale combat form, it tends to shine the larger the skirmish. This is my opinion others will feel the xact opposite. But in the end all will perform.
