Is it just me or are these absolutely useless around lvl 30+? I'm a sniper and used Kaliyo for a great deal of time upgrading her and even making her gear with my alt but I got to a stage where she nearly dies facing a group of four lower level mobs and rarely survives any strong or hard mobs. I recently got Scorpio and even though I'm two levels above the zone I got her in, she still takes enormous amount of damage and I made her new parts as my main is cybertech, yet she still takes tons of damage and barely survives against a strong and normal mob on Voss. Is it right that a companion with heavy armour has barely more defence than a sniper agent and her defensive abilities barely make a difference as well? I'd really love to use one of my other companions but I'm pretty much forced to rely on Dr Lokin and have me tank the damage with the help of him, which is pretty boring when you'd like to have Temple, Scorpio or the other companions around to increase their happiness with you or see different reactions.

Server is up as my guild members are playing and in warzones.

I logged in and patched, then went to server selection and it wouldn't let me log on to my US server but I could log into a EU server, so I restarted the client and now it keeps saying unable to retrieve patch data Please check network connection. Anyone else got this?

Im about 7 years? That was a quote error, I've fixed it. Edit: and another random quote error, think the forums are bugging. People stuck around with WoW and generated the interest and money for all that additional content, if you don't with swtor you don't get all that extra content, simple as that.

What your saying there then is that no game can ever compete with WoW unless it has 7 or so years of content to compete with the 7 years that WoW has had...makes no sense. The building blocks for a great game are in swtor and it's obviously well funded, so just stick to it and eventually reap the rewards.

This has probably come up a lot of times before but I've not found a clear answer as of yet. Is anything game altering being added for legacy levels? I'm about half way to Legacy level 8 and I was really hoping additional races would be unlocked or something but I've not seen any mention of that as of yet.

It's rugged and reminds me of Slave I, BH ships should look peculiar and unique and the Mantis does, anything sleeker would be weird for me.

I think Mercs should be the ones to use rifles or carbines imo, Powertech has so many gadgets the rifle or carbine wouldn't be used that often, where as mercs spend more time at range and the pyrotech tree would benefit a lot from having them.

I just respeced from Arsenal to Pyro as I hated having to stand still and spam. I'm loving the mobility of pyrotech, I rarely stay still but when I do it's only to use unload or fusion or spam power shot and that's when I'm at a height advantage in pvp. This is the spec I'm thinking of going for.

There is a codex entry, you get it on the trooper at least on Ord Mantell.
