  1. My opinion as a shadow: There is a possibility that shocks may hit for 4k+, but it's rare and you have to use all your cooldowns and requires an opponent that is undergeared. Use recklessness and all offensive CDs and stun the target (because of Nerve Wrecking). In my opinion this procedure is not very viable against good opponents, since you'll waste everything you have and if you are against a decent team setup with people that know what debuffs and taunts are, there is no chance of shocks hitting that high.
  2. Ya, it's just for periodic damage, which you only get with Mind Crush in Combat Technique as far as I know... Using Mind Crush and the healing from Focused Insight isn't really worth it in WZ-situations in my opinion (though Mind Crush can be used situational but should never be part of a main rotation)..

It heals you for 1% only when the periodic damage hits critical.. You're far better off if you rely on healing from TK and the technique healing and spend the points elsewhere..

  3. Hey!

Don't take my word for granted but I think, that the points in Misdirection are wasted, since as a 31/x/x build you have enough gap-closers and don't have to depend on melee that much.. I however think that taking Celerity isn't a bad idea at all (I'm too lazy to test it myself) ...

Personally I would favour a build like that:

http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rcrozrskrsZhMbZd.1 (with the 1 point in Synergy to be spend optionally)

  4. Just out of curiousity Xin, which other hard hitting attacks do we have, except shadow strike when we go for infil tactics (or weren't you excluding attacks like project)? So, was your comment directed to the people that do use rotations that dishes out TK the fastest way (remembering the discussions about not using DS and so on)?

Are you going to try out the patch on the PTS?

  5. Hey,

since many of you read the 1.3 notes yet, let's do some theorycrafting (taking in consideration the nerfs to adrenals aso too). What will be our future after 1.3?

Will hybrid-specs become more wide-spread? Will it push kinetics even more into dps-gear? Will taking up more tank-gear be the way to go?

    Let's discuss!

  6. There are three options I see possible:

    1. Hybrid-specs will get more popular (most likely option to me).

    2. The change will push people even more into dps gear.

    3. Take up some tanking gear to be on one level with pre 1.3 again (very unlikely).

We have to wait and see how all changes play out together(changes in adrenals and relics -that take a lot of burst away from all classes).

  7. Hey!

Would like to discuss the question in the thread-title mainly for Kinetics. I'd say your force potency should be dropped close to the telekinetic throw (with stalker mods you can take 2 potencies over to the next project and slow time). What about adrenals and relics?

Say we have a Project>Slow Time>Project>Telekinetic Throw rotation, so save your adrenals and relics for the second project or also for the Telekinetic Throw? If you try to get a PA proc in for the second Project I'd say to save them up, if you use a none-DS rotation you might activate them before.

    What are your thoughts?

  8. Thanks for the comment :).

I think the time I ran into the crowd was at the start of the match where I wanted to get my debuffs into the enemy team as quickly as possible to take some pressure of mine. But now where you said it, I think I have the slight habit of running into crowds of reds some times, definately something I'll look after.

I must say I'm a bit afraid of Xin's posting there..

  9. Which video are you referring to?

To what Moonheart said about double-strike:

I think this is a very good point... Use DS at the start only to put in some more pressure but the longer a fight takes the more it besomes a battle of force costs.

  10. Hello everyone!

Are you up for a pure gameplay video, without any fancy music, cut by someone who never touched a movie editor before? Would you like to see the most boring video ever? And most importantly are you up to help a fellow shadow improve his gameplay?

When you can at least answer the last question with yes, I would be very, very grateful, if you could take you the time and help me evaluate my gameplay. I always strive to better it, but I haven't yet found someone that helped me with active feedback ingame, so I figured I ask you for help.

This video is from a Novare match and shows some fighting while defending the cannons. I yesterday changed my UI, and still try to get used to it. So, if I look like a drowned rat, standing motionless in a mass of enemies, or run into walls, that's because I spend too much time finding the right abilities and their CD-timer (I normally don't do that I'm pretty sure about that :p).

The first thing I saw while watching the video was, is that there were situations where I should have used my taunts but didn't. That will be something I'll have to improve on. See anything else? Bad CD usage, even worse situational positioning? Bad video editing-skill? Please let me know!

    Thank you very much!

P.S.: I hope my editing skills aren't better than my gameplay :p

  11. Tiresias I think you are too referring to a discussion on sithwarrior.com about the usage of DS? If so, can you post a link to the discussion?

And the use of Mind Crush as a pure Kinetic should only be situational and not part of the main rotation. My experience showed that if you are in a combat situation you loose way too much time casting it, plus there is the danger of getting interrupted, so that a 1 v. 1, or 1 v. 2 may already be lost.

  12. What Xin and XPROOF basically said. If you have stalker 4pc you can pop Recklessness/Potency with the second Shock/Project already.

If you face opponents that are heavy on kiting, you may want to start with a snare attack, just don't use stun-attacks as an opener, as you would then waste them.

  13. Liking both your build and StephenOne's build (although you might want to check the link to his build in your first post ;)). Both seem to be a real pest for the opposing team (but I guess you have to be on the move like a squirrel on crack). Might do some test runs on these two with my alt! Keep up the good work!

Edit: Ha, I remembered why I find FiB to be bad. I'm normally using both mouse keys to run forward, which is bad when you want to deploy FiB precisely.. Might want to change my movment keys :D.
