  1. For what it is worth I believe this is the post being referenced, but that doesn't make you wrong it just means this is what the devs have said they intend, be that the reality or not. http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=5155548&postcount=7
  2. Honestly this would suggest that the Devs have a clear and decisive understanding of what they intend to do in the next six months, the majority of their actions in game changes recently don't seem to support that idea.
  3. They are continually removing reasons for people to play, especially for people who are not in hardcore raiding guilds, and even many of those are losing their reasons to play with continual server merges, loss of guild names and the eventual death of guilds. All this game has to offer at this point is the path from 1 to 50 since the end game content is losing its perks to play it and many are losing their access to the gear required to play it without being in a hardcore raiding guild. Yet soon they will no longer charge people to play from 1 to 50, it really seems like there is no one at the helm here with any clear idea of where they are headed.
  4. So basically what you are saying is that you are slowing down progression for casuals. Great because there isn't already a big enough divided between players in this game.
  5. Thanks, I'll take a look at the video I don't understand why they haven't posted it on the site like they said they would.
  6. Ok well then that begs the question, when is F2P coming, sorry I wasn't able to watch the live stream and they haven't posted it from what I can tell in the Dev tracker.
  7. http://www.swtor.com/info/media/trailers/see-future-old-republic Ok so we've got the New Op Terror from beyond, but when are we going to see Makeb and Cathar? Oh and HK-51? http://www.swtor.com/info/media/trailers/hk-51-revealed
  8. So Cathar, not part of 1.4? Will they be introduced along with f2P in the cartel shop?
  9. As well as paid character slot expansion and when we can expect Cathar or any other species?
  10. You had a days notice if you checked the forums yesterday... not saying that it was enough or the right thing, just saying.
  11. Yes. It was merged completely. I haven't had a wait myself, but we'll see how long me luck runs.
  12. I find it interesting that timing given this... http://blog.bioware.com/2012/09/18/ray-muzyka-greg-zeschuk-retire/
  13. Seems there must be something up with some of the servers, I can log in to both Jedi Covenant and Shadowlands with 0 wait.
  14. I lost almost no names, they must have gone with age of the character. I still think this was a bad move and poorly done.
  15. Yeah there were 11 people on the fleet and I had odd loading problems. I'm not looking forward to tomorrows mini-relaunch.
  16. Ah well, then still no, but with the caveat of "Yet" other things in the FAQ seem to suggest that paid transfers are coming.
  17. If it works the way the HPTS (High Population Test Server) worked earlier last week, then the older of the two characters will get to keep the name.
  18. No Canderous Ordo is no longer going to be a sever after tomorrow, it along with a number of others is being merged into Jedi Covenant. Look at the matrix here. http://www.swtor.com/transfer
  19. No I don't consider it last minute when we knew it was in the works. Last minute would have been if it had been introduced into the game at launch, but not in the beta and we had never heard any hint that they had some system like it in mind. Now had they actually listened to the feedback from beta about the legacy system and specifically it's naming system maybe they would have pulled it from launch and wouldn't have found a better way to introduce surnames and we wouldn't be in this mess currently.
  20. Legacy surnames were in one of the last beta builds. It was not so late an addition. It has ever been poorly implemented especially on the naming side of things, this was a chance to finally fix that. This move to consolidate these server is clearly not a last minute thing, it has clearly been in the works for some time. They should have dedicated the resources to doing this right rather than half-arsed.
  21. This is where I disagree, there was getting around the naming problems. They knew far enough in advance about what they were doing. They already made changes to the legacy naming conventions. What they should have done was change all naming conventions. Starting with decoupling surnames from the Legacy system, then making it so characters only needed to have a unique combination of first and surname rather than a unique first name. This would have solved all of the naming problems and made nearly everyone happy, some would still lose out, but that number would go down significantly as there would now be a name combination requirement, Meaning if two people wanted the names Han or Solo (just an example), they could manage to keep one or the other.

  23. I've paid my sub for six months, had I know when the renewal came up that I'd be forced merged with less than a days notice, I wouldn't have renewed. At this point I probably will not renew with the sub comes up again, but in the mean time. I'm allowed to voice my disgust at the poor planning and even worse business sense that came up with this decisions. And when I do cancel my sub, you can be sure I'll let them know why.
  24. And this is the rub, clearly they knew this was coming for some time, so why they didn't revamp how naming in the game works rather than punish all of their loyal customers is beyond me.
