I would never trust Gault enough to allow him as a companion on my ship. A very rich con-artist that escapes everyone, is finally caught by you, and agrees to stay loyal to you forever. That's just a weak and a bit unbelievable story. There should have been the option to kill him off for good, or perhaps a twist where he con's you like he did everyone else.
Also, being thrown into the great hunt, meeting a former glorious bounty hunter, 15 minutes later he's dead, and you're supposed to feel emotionally devastated about it. I agree, I didn't care because I had no emotional attachment to the character; He simply was not developed enough in the story for me to care.
Honestly, if the story slowed down in progression and took more time for character development, I would enjoy it much more.
