  1. If you can't manage hm flashpoints, then you would not be able to manage ops anyway. The good news for you is to get good enough for ops, you need to get good at and complete hm flashpoints. Which will gear you for ops.

So there you go, do hm flashpoints or give up on ever raiding. The solution is so obvious it hurts. If you can't dedicate the time to do hm flashpoints, then you don't have time for ops either.

Quit moaning and put the effort in!!

Also account sharing is banned, so **** off.

  2. The problem is that they need a complete overhaul, which aint going to happen till an expansion. So I'm suggesting small tweaks, which may happen. Bioware are more likely to do something simple rather than complex.

As for pve, saying they can get simar results with more skilled play is admitting they are not as good. I know I mained scrapper for the longest period. Having to put 200% of the effort in that another player does, to get the same results, means your class is not up to scratch.

If you can't get off heals, due to interrupts, pushback or cc, increasing what you do get off by 10%, still makes you 10% more effective.

If the only thing you will ever be happy with is a full overhaul, then your gonna be waiting forever.

Sorcs rule pve due to the crazy way their aoe stacks, that maybe needs toning down too. Get all 3 healers in the same ball park. Then balance encounters around any healer being used.

  3. So you wanna balance the game based on pvp issues eh?

    You're wrong.

Because scoundrels aren't better than commandos at pve healing also?

They are very far ahead in both pve and PVP.

I did not suggest any mechanics changes, to keep the flavour of the classes. I do agree with hammer shooting yourself though. With that and the 10%'s I suggested, both PVP and PVE would be more balanced for healers.

See this is why they have done nothing. What ever they did people would moan. That free biscuit is not my favorite type if biscuit, it's an outrage!!!

  4. Itd be cool if they could integrate Space PvP and Ground PvP....

Each faction has a capital ship. You launch fighters from the ship. You need to bring down the defenses, shields, and hangar doors of the opposing ship, while at the same time defending your own cruiser. When you disable the factions cruiser, you then board it and you have to capture the ships bridge. The inside of the ship could be similar to Voidstar, having to blow blast doors at different stages in order to progress.

If anyone ever played battlefield 2142, that had a great taking down Titan ships component. Something like that would be great.

  5. You don't need to kill him. You just need to stop him healing others. Which by the sounds of things you did. You were on him all warzone and he ran all over the place? Just how much help was he to his team?

You don't need to kill healers, just their output.

  6. I don't stop a fight to heal because i don't need to, which was kinda my point. The 2% you are referring to is actually more like 7%. And that 7% goes into making me survivable enough to not need to cloak and heal behind a corner. I save my flashbang for objectives or stunning the smashmob :-)

My original dps spec was probably identical to yours. I used it a lot and to it's fullest. You should try mine for a night and see if my points hold up to scrutiny. You are a good player that knows how to control your dot spam in the right situations. You might appreciate that extra 2-7% of damage by altering 3 of your gcds every minute or two lol

Not wanting to derail further. Op should definitely go Dirty fighting.

7% from 2 talent points? Really? Really really?

Also 7% more damage in a solo fight verses Being able to cast 3 heals potentially healing for 50% of your health. It's not even close, not even if 7% were true lol.

  7. So the only new PVP content is arena. Arena is now part of the standard rotation of warzones. Daily quests are only progressed via standard warzone queue. They are removing restrictions on the number of warzones free to play can play a week.

Gee thanks, I just bought account wide artefact equipment unlock and extra crews skill unlock for each of my 3 characters. So with that set up, if all I play for is PVP, going free to play only means I can't do rated arenas, but can do all non rated content.

2.4 just saved me money, thank you xxx

  8. Do you get that impatient? A better way to use those gcd ticks is crouch and explosive probe.

    Sleep dart > crouch > explosive probe > shiv > dots > culls > shiv > culls > stim > culls > shiv > culls

In the same number of ticks, which of us would do more damage? And i already pointed out the ways i would spend that point on something more beneficial.

We obviously can play the class differently. But my focus is much more on being sustainable dps when i am playing dps. A point into an ability that is 99% irrelevant is wasteful by my logic, when the only strategic application in my play style is to be more patient for a few seconds every blue moon in voidstar.

Voidstar was an example. It has many many uses (pausing a one on one to heal as another example). I dont really go for figures though. I play objective and let the figures take care of themselves. Very few fights are won by one or two percent, which is all you gain by missing those points. So it's situational use verses maybe 2% increase in damage. I know which I would miss more, when I needed it.

  9. You obviously don't understand how a lethality op is played properly. I will clarify a few points where your argument fails.

In a VS door capping situation, the lethality op is either the guy planting the door or the guy doing the cc. What he absolutely isnt doing is splash dotting the entire enemy team.

The ability you declare lethality MUST have only stops your dots from ticking on YOUR own ccs. This means they still break your allies' ccs (refer to paragraph above on how to play voidstar lethality).

This means the MUST HAVE ability you refer to has only one practical application, which is sleep dart > dots > culls. In that application you traded half your enemy's resolve bar for 2 gcd ticks and gave him 4 seconds to type for help while you did that.

That comes from real experience in many hundreds of matches as a lethality operative. On pen and paper your point seems to be completely correct. In real application, you wasted an ability point that could've gone to:

    - increasing your cunning by 3% (2/7/37 build)

    - increasing you move speed by 7.5% (3/6/37)

    - increasing your shield probe resist OR decreasing shield cooldown (3/7/36)

Play a couple hundred matches and you will come to the same conclusion. But thanks for bringing it up. It certainly took my a lot of time to get away from the old lethality healing hybrid build but i did it for a reason, and i'm glad to share that experience.

You actually made me want to play it tonight since right now i only do it a few nights a week lately while favoring sniper/mara/jugg/merc/sorc dps due to the op being my oldest character.

Erm I have played scoundrel since pre order, it's been my main all that time. Few hundred wz's? try thousands. Guess we will agree to disagree. I love the talent as you can quickly go from attacking to ccing, if someone plants.

I know it's only your own cc, but in that situation when you had a defender dotted and you see someone going for the plant, you can't do sheet and I can.

The sawbones dirty fighting hybrid should be fun in arenas though, maybe even more than pure dirty.

  10. When playing dps i tend to run 3/7/36 build. I think it is but i'm on my phone so i might've assigned a point wrong lol

    Notes:

    - fully buffed shield probe (and 2 pieces of medic suit for the extra +15%) with shortest cooldown is important for a lethality op to win against... things like a good vengy jugg.

    - i don't put a point into my dots not breaking my flashbang, so i have to remember that so i dont look like a noob.

    - i dont do the accuracy debuff on flashbang. The shield probe resist is a better use of the points.

    - i can't heal at all in this spec so i don't try. This is not hybrid, this is maximum dps/dot.

    - in 12 minutes matches i have broken 1.2 mil damage with this spec and scored up there with all the smashers.

    - culling a healer 6 times really makes them say *** and they to run away. Culling a smasher 6 times usually gets him off your healer fast.

Good to see you enjoying lethality, but dear god you need the points in dots not breaking your cc. It is a genuine heal to full talent, not like all the forum crap. Also not doing it makes void star much worse. Not getting those talents is just plain stupid and the sign if a bad.

  11. Not really, I actively engaged roudy for more, but he always refused to play.

    I wonder why..

Anyways drifting offtopic, you guys are funny. I'll be keen to see what happens when they nerf the **** out of warriors.

Nerf the **** out of Warriors? What game have you been playing, they will never be nerfed. Every nerf to them comes with a buff of at least equal magnitude. It's the operative heals that will get nerfed.

  12. A lot if the complaints are due to roll and to be honest I'm sick of the responsibility that roll gave to us, it's not like healing was already the biggest responsibility in PVP, now we have to roll for objectives in most wz.

Give it a 6 second cooldown, ignores snares and remove the energy cost and I'd be happy and a lot of the qq would disappear. It's not like it would impact arenas much, but it would look like a nerf to the l2p crowd, stopping some of the crying.

  13. Yes to scoundrel, maybe to guardian tank (vanguard is pretty much right up there with it), and no to 2 smash sents. They can obviously pug stomp, but it'll be a mediocre dps comp vs a good team.

The maras are not due to smash, though that helps. It's due to survivability cooldowns. Dps are the weak link, they are the ones that will die first, not the healer. So you want Dps with the highest survivability, which is maras.

For any other Dps, ask yourself what they gonna do under focus fire. Bubble, vanish, work once and take you out during it. Dps will just instant switch and then come right back when it wears off, when they know you have no more survivability.

  14. Basically see previous post, I've broken 1m as concealment quite a few times if the other team doesn't sit on me the second I come out of stealth. Doesn't mean I'm going to be playing my operative in even a somewhat serious 4s team unless they buff the **** out of and give us additional DCDs. FOTM Reroll is a cute insult considering I've had a Jugg, Mara and Sent since 2011.

Even when doing solo queue on the pts, the strat is always going to be the same. Kill the DPS Op. We're not just easy to kill, we are the EASIEST to kill. Until we are not the obvious bottom of the totem pole, these two specs will not be viable. I'm not even talking optimal (top 10% or whatever you want to call it), I'm talking about playable. If you can be killed in a single stun while guarded with all your DCDs popped WHILE GUARDED AND GETTING HEALED, you will not be welcome anywhere near competitive pvp. Especially not when 3/4 of the team you're going to see in competitive pvp can hit you for 12-24k the second you hit 30% HP.

You can argue this all you want, get on the PTS and try and pug a group. Or bring your team, and try and win some games. Good luck.

I know what your saying and your not wrong. On the pts Dps ops will get ganked.

I just happen to believe that only the more serious people will be on the pts, which will mostly be the top 20% when it goes live. The more casual players will not be on the pts.

I know what classes play well and I actually fear that if I want to be in a top team, ill have to be sawbones. I don't think that even my slinger will be able to get top ratings, like it can in 8v8 now.

  15. And I've done >2k dps against a team that didnt have 5 healers, and games in the 2 million area. No I havent played in any stalemated nc/cw since coming back. I'd prob break 3 -4 if I had.

Before you start yapping your gums about tab dotting, only 45% of my dmg was from dot sources most games. While u hit 8k then 5k, I was culling for 7k then 7k then 1-2 more culls while you tried to get LOS.

It's not worth arguing about the figures. Some people don't understand that parses don't get inflated by aoe. Lethality ops single target parse very close to the highest of all classes, which is single target only, but people still think most of our damage is fluff aoe. Muppets.

  16. 700k while multi dotting? Right now my Arsenal Merc is 47 and I do 600-700k SINGLE TARGET DAMAGE

Aoe dots are irrelevant, 8k heatseeker missiles to the healer followed by 5k rail shot - yeah.

Ill say it again for the hard of hearing. We are only comparing Dps specs of scoundrel, for those who want to Dps on their scoundrel. What you do on you aunt fanny class does not matter (I can easy break 1m on my slinger with single target). That's not what we are discussing.

I know full well what the optimal teams will be and that it will include a scoundrel but not a Dps one. People seem to be forgetting about match making, all compositions will be able to do arena, just some will be at lower/mid ratings.

Some people play for the love of a class and don't want to join a sawbones, guardian and two Mara team.

Only the top 10-20% of teams need to think about optimal teams, the other 80% won't play against them after ratings are awarded, due to match making.

  17. I sincerely look forward to you all getting spots on arena teams and showing us how viable the class is.

Simple fact, without some buffs and adjustments there is zero reason to bring an operative of either DPS spec over another class (assuming skill is equal). Making a fight 4v4 rather than 8v8 doesn't change that, seriously the amount of non 55 characters and people with no idea on how competitive PvP works in this thread is amazing.

Your forgetting something very important. While I don't doubt that the top 10% of teams, will have very set classes (which could change, with balance changes), for the other 90% of teams, having the very best team composition, is not as important. So for 90% of teams viable is what matters, not optimal.

I don't know about everyone else, but I would rather be in the 90% and play a class/spec I enjoy than in the 10% and playing sawbones.

Also, as they are adding matchmaking, those 10% won't be playing against everybody else, just themselves, so non optimal teams won't have to worry about them.

Arenas are going to be a whole lot more popular than ranked was. So we are going to see an influx of new players playing it. It won't just be the same old hardcore players from ranked, that played fotm classes only (even the old 8 man teams won't break down in to 2 optimal arena teams). There will be players playing the classes they enjoy, end game PVP just went casual, shocking I know.

  18. Yes let's see you get off a DoT to make Cull actually burst. And I'd also like to see you get off 5 Culls with no interruption. Op Lethality sucks. Sniper Lethality is much better, not being interrupted and not being Charged at. Now do tell, oh wise one, how a class can get worse the farther along it goes. Oh sure there's Bolster to "help" me, but like that really helps survivability. It might slightly gimp my DPS, but my I'll still be hitting 13+ Medals a game with 3- deaths.

Not sure what your issue is mate. I PVP extensively on 2 characters, the other being my slinger, which is also frequently DF also, so I know how they compare better than anyone. We were discussing what is the best Dps spec for PVP for scoundrel, not slinger.

For the record my slinger is normally about 100k ahead of my scoundrel. But I'm quite sure that I have frequently gotten off that many culls in a row before. I'd even go so far as to say DF is more fun on the scoundrel than the GS.

Just to help you understand. The reason we loose power as scrapper is the steep dr curve on crit at max level. Added to all classes getting all their abilities, quite a few improve dramatically at later levels, which puts scrappers effective performance back massively.
