  1. Also when looking at your stats Crit rating and crit from your cunning do not work against you in the DR department. you can have 30% crit from just cunning and no crit rating and you won't get DR's when you do stack crit rating till 200. Not sure what the surge dr cap is and didn't think power had dr's.
  2. I have a few songs, top would be this or
  3. Gunslinger - Aayla'ven (ale a ven) She's a Twilek and Ven is her clan name Aayla her given name, but Twi's combine the two to form one name.
  4. Every time I get near the power converters I start squinting my eyes waiting for the green glow to hit my screen of blindness. God it hurts when it does that.
  5. I never said they where to be associated with rebels or pirates (reading comprehension for the win). I said it's like rebels will buy what ever weapons they can get their hands on which is the AK-47 mostly that are old (since they do improve on design sometimes). So yes most AK-47's you confiscate in the middle east are actually old that the other countries armies don't use (and btw we are moth balling the M-16 for the M-4). As far as us being the only country that uses the M-16/M-4 that is because it's suppose to be more deadly than say other weapons of the same category and still cheap to build (this is an understatement, give me a 30-06 any day of the week) which if you ever shot a M-16 or m-4 you would know right off the bat they are garbage and not worth dealing with, but they are cheaper to build on a mass scale. The reason they are more deadly in theory is if you ever shot a 22 you would now that it has a hard time getting through bone. Hence the M-16 using a .22 cal round with more gunpowder to push it farther in hopes that it will penetrate the body and lose momentum enough that instead of exiting it bounces around inside causing more harm.
  6. Have to remember we have no addons as of yet, and WoW designs all their fights around the assumption that everyone runs certain addons.
  7. After reading the 100th or so of these threads one thing seams to be clearly evident in every argument for or against addons. Neither side can see the whole picture. Some addons play the game for you (Nerfed buttons, DBM/Bigwigs, Healbot/Voodoo (I don't think these auto heal for you any more), ACR (which I commonly call raiding for *******) among others). Which is the argument that gives players an unfair advantage or makes a bad player mediocre or takes the skill out of the game. Other addons do nothing but are cosmetic (which are fine). Better UI placements, raid frames, player huds that take your eyes off the bottom of your screen and puts them in the middle for pvp ease, ect. These most people if not all are fine with, except one small little problem. These have a tendency to become mandatory to raid. I can remember when CT first came out and got popular. It was a requirement that we all get and use CT along with decursive (another mod that played the game for you) and so on. Then you have the ugly and most fought over mods... DPS/Threat meters. and these will be argued that you NEED them. Not for some people they help while others they do nothing but tell us what we already know. They get blown out of proportion in use and become less and less of a tool and more and more of a e-peen stroker and another reason for morons and e-thugs to belittle other gamers. No my final word about all this is some mods are fine that are completely cosmetic in nature (god knows I would love a much smoother UI especially for Operations). others not so much since they tell you how to play or remove skill from the game by telling you in .5 sec boss x is going to do ability y in location z (these are not OK) or you need to use ability a then b of d proc'd so go to e then hit c. As far as DPS/threat meters are concerned they are a very useful tool if used properly and most people have no clue how to use them other than "I L337, U ZUXXORZ!!! L2P NOOB!!!!" which most people are down right sick of and rather not take the chance of seeing it again. I do believe we either need a better designed UI that is both movable and scalable or UI ONLY mods allowed so we can get the look, placement, and hopefully better preforming huds for groups/Operations. We could use a DPS meter as well as long as it's a personal one that can't be linked into chat and only tells you what you are doing with each ability and for how much even with a times stamp. If not a in game DPS meter than a combat parser that requires you to alt-tab out of game to use (my preferred method since it's not technically a mod). The addons we could do with out are any type of boss timers, rotation optimization, Linkable DPS/Threat meters, Any thing that tells you to move away from player/area x which we really don't need it cause the game tells you exactly where the AOE ability is going to be already. But if it came down to yes to addons or no to addons not some are ok and others are not I will always lean to no addons here. Reason being is that I feel that yours or my playstyle should not be forced on others just to experience the game. It makes it not a game, but more of a job. We already get told in life we have to do things this way or else be it school, work, laws, or even parents that we really don't need someone else doing it in our form of entertainment. P.S. I suck at grammar and English. I'm better with math and sorry for calling them mods some times, but I'm not going back through just to try and find each time and change it. P.P.S. One more thing I thought of. Mods become required for raiding and cause the development team to design content around mods that are perceived as everyone uses. This is the number one big NO NO NO NO NO in my book. WoW is the biggest and as far as I know only culprit in doing this. This I believe is the main reason people say we will be forced to get x,y,and z addons.
  8. First off let me say this, Mara/Sent DPS is not crap, it takes a little patience and thought into getting them to shine. Once you figure it out they rip through crap so fast. in Beta when I hit late half of tat/Ald it was hell, but I was able to still do it (this was when Silvers would damn near 1 shot you). They have been buffed since this time. I'm currently leveling a Sent and Mara at the same time and I'm having little issue unless I get in a hurry with some pulls. First and foremost always always always use rebuke right after you leap in on elites. Do not use any stuns or CC's while rebuke is active UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!!! Once you get down to 50% health use your stuns or other CC's to let you get in some free hits pop saber ward then and by this time the mobs should be dead if not almost. Also one of the biggest over sites you can do when fighting tough mobs is ignoring your interrupts. Doing this is asking to die. Get use to using them and religiously. If your still having issues look at your rotation. I find weaving your abilities between resource spending and building yields max dam. Oh and a side note, always try and have the highest med pack you can use on you just incase (about 5-10 is what I carry with me at all times). And don't forget your snare and LOS. these two things have allowed me to solo Boss mobs with no heals and 1 level higher than I (as long as they are not CC immune).
  9. The reason the old design is in this time frame and in the movies time frame as far as ships go is that when a rebel army decides to over throw a government they take what they can get. Prime example of this is look at Afgan/Iraq/Pakistan/ect all these countries use old AK-47's for small arms. In fact if you spent any time collecting these (god knows I have) you'll find different types from different countries. For example we've confiscated some from China and Russia. So in short Rebel armies will take any thing they can buy with what little money they have to fight. Also in this time period I'm sure that the republic uses Mon Cal Shipping Yards (or what ever the name of the ship building company is that produced the hammerhead design as well as the frigates in the original movies) as it's primary source of space tech, and in the original movies they where the chief supplier of ships for the Rebels since they did not join the Empire and split off to help the Rebels.
  10. There is one line spoken by Ashara in the Si companion thing I will quote here. It is kinda a spoiler in away, but here it is just in case.
  11. People who say this are narrow minded without the ability to reason. DPS meters where never ever needed in any sort of raiding until WoW, and that was cause some moron who thought it to be a good idea passed it on to other morons who caught on to DPS meters where needed end of story. Most of us gamers have been raiding content through the years without a DPS meter. If you are THAT worried about someone not pulling the numbers you need maybe you should be more selective of who you invite into your guild/raids. DPS meters are like cars in the sense they are not needed for me to get to work. They are damn useful I will say that and make things way easier, BUT they are far from needed. You can easily calculate the dam you are doing and a rotation if you just watch the floating combat text. It's not hard just stop playing with yourself and look at the screen. When I see a number pop up on my screen for using x ability I know that ability does y dam do it enough times to like level/type mobs and you get an average. add averages together and whats this... a rough idea of what DPS you are pulling!!! NO WAY!!!! Combat log helps with being able to see what is being resisted so it would be nice if that was implemented sooner than later, but a DPS meter is not needed. Sure I could go for one that is a personal DPS meter that only I can see and it can't be posted like SWG had. And a out of game parser that could be used for raiding if people are THAT worried over the types of players they recruit. Also for a final note only because I know I'm going to get the oh so cliche response of "If you hate damage meters, it's because you are bad and get kicked out of groups" well I can tell you this. I can easily get into the top 5 guilds on any server of any game world wide. And guess what.... all without the use of a damn meter.
  12. Um..no. BW has more endgame content at release than any other released MMO to date. No other game came with two raids with 3 difficulty settings. This is an excuse used by people who don't understand the progressing class system which sadly hasn't been used in awhile.
  13. Cover points make me scratch my head most of the time. Either there is no cover points that can be used without LOS issues, or there are none at all. Very rarely do I get to use cover properly, or at least the way I think it was suppose to be designed. Most of the points I find are to far to even hit my target, or any target in the area, so I have to throw a grenade, put Kaliyo on passive and drag them to the cover behind me.
  14. THere was a dam meter in Beta for a time. You don't need a dam meter or parser to figure it out... just takes more patience and time to get the same results. as long as you can see what each ability does in dam be in a combat log or *hint* on screen or in a floating combat text*hint* you can figure it out.
  15. They ahve to pick and choose raid comp in any game. Just because a game has mods that raid for you doesn't make the more special and challenging. as an ex raid leader I know for a fact it's not that simple. you have to look at buffs, utility, player you want in each role, ect. Saying a druid brings more than a rogue so why bring the rogue isn't a 100% true. This game simplifies it between the Sent/Mara and Guard/Jug with they have the same buffs. But mara/Sent do have something the other doesn't... Burst and big burst if done right. And when it comes down to the wire of killing the boss in the final burn phase Burst>>>>Utility any day of the week.
  16. A LOT OF WORK. every build I made two toons, one when Jugg, one went Mara. I then made one of them a Synthweave crafter and made them identical suits of armor (since Jugg and Mara both can wear medium I put the Jugg in medium to try and rule out as many variables as possible). Then yes I know the combat log was never enabled. But if you watch your screen it tells you what each ability does for dam (this is the long part) I wrote down each ability I used in my rotation with the dam amount up to 20 (100 would have been more accurate but I'm not that patient) and did the math from there. it cam out to roughly 5% every time in each build. Sometimes it was even some times less than 5%. but roughly the same. Edit: I'm dyslexic so takes me awhile to proof read sometimes. Also I don't remember the combat log being there but it might have been in previous builds. regardless you don't need a parser to calculate over DPS and compare them as long as you can see some dam number.
  17. 6 months of playing nothing but SW/JK's in beta and playing one now. the difference through every build was no greater than 5% dps gain/lose between DPS AC's and Tank/DPS AC's
  18. A tank build will never ever out DPS a equally skilled and properly spec'd marauder/Sentinal. a Guardian/Juggernaut spec'd properly in DPS trees will do the same DPS.
  19. There is only like 5% difference if that between Sent/Mara DPS and Jugg/Guard if specc'd properly and played well.
  20. I think you are misinformed, badly. BioWare never took over War from Mythic/EA. it was always Mythic/EA that had Warhammer and even now it still is. They took people off of Warhammer from Mythic to work on SW. in fact Warhammer has maybe.. 2-3 people total working on it any more. So yeah... Bioware has nothing to do with Warhammer.
  21. I feel that the AI for companions needs a bit of work when it companions to those of use playing heal bot roles in 2 man groups. One of the first things I noticed was that unless I use a GCD on an attack or take dam my companion just sits there doing nothing while my friends Companion helps him kill what ever he's tanking. yes in away I could just do some DPS and the Companion will attack, but that's not a 100% fix to the issue. if things get heavy (we 2 man 4+ heroics) then I can't waste a GCD on even a dot or the resource to get my companion to help instead of acting like some of the players in MMOs. Also sometimes the companions just stand there even if you attack until you get hit, Also when you are running a heal companion they will move to attack something but will not move to heal you if you move out of their range from the beginning of the fight for what ever reason. So I'm writing this in hopes some of the mods pass this up to who ever and we can get a little bit better AI for these guys. Thanks
