  1. Can't get launcher installer swtor_setup to work on Windows 10, today. Ran in several different compatibility modes and no dice. Discovered certificate was expired as of December 16th, 2016. I found another thread from a week or two ago that showed you had a certficate expire on April 20th, 2016, and you tried to resolve this. Are you sure your dev team installed the correct certificate?
  2. Do you ever stop and just think "what the hell is wrong with me?" You should.
  3. I'm a madness spec sorc with 1500ish endurance, 720ish power, 37% crit fully buffed and about 1250 expertise. I can only 1v1 someone if no one else is around. The problem isn't that I don't do damage. I can. It's just that I have to hit about 20 buttons in a row correctly (while I'm kiting which involves slowing, rooting, stunning, kb'ing them, slowing them again, rooting them again.....etc) while I mix 5-10 dps attacks into that and shield myself. Everything except force speed triggers the GCD - I can solo people fine - it just takes me like 30-45sec to kill someone whereas a marauder, most of his defensive c/ds are NOT governed by GCD, so he doesn't even have to interrupt any of his damage and his DPS is about twice as high anyways... It just doesn't work well in group pvp situations. All it takes is missing one root or one slow and it's game over. Pre 1.2 pvp was great. What we have now is ****. It's a shame cause I like the warzones.
  4. Honestly I'm sick of games that have a pvp centric stat. I wish I could grind out some flashpoints on my alt to get better pvp gear and THEN enter into pvp with 95% the stats of the top pvpers. The only purpose I see in expertise is that it forces players to grind two different paths which equals higher playtime for the customer which = more $$ for bioware. It's stupid. So what's the huge downside of gear from pvp working in pve or pve gear working in pvp? Just that now someone who's only pvp'd since 50 and has full war hero can jump right into HM Denova? I don't see how that's such a huge downside - if they already ground out that gear why make them go back through flashpoints/EV/KP when the content is old already? TLDR - ever since TBC came out in WoW games have used pvp centric stats to separate the gearing progression and I think it's just stupid. Give similar gear/stat rewards that work in both and let people play the game the way they want - why force players to go through a "punishment" phase in pvp just to be able to compete on equal terms?
  5. Are we now on the "mega-server" architecture you described some weeks back or is that something intended for the future? I don't believe a clear answer was ever given on this.
  6. This. I run a semi-hardcore guild, most of us were super hardcore (college age/mid twenties) in WoW and played all the time non-stop. Now we are older and some of us have jobs, wives/girlfriends, etc.. and I find the pace of this game fits perfectly with my now 20-30 hours of game time per week. But those in my guild who were much higher playtime burned out way early on this one. There were a couple guilds on our server that beat nightmare Soa like the first week in January. They were all gone by the end of January. I don't think the MMO space provides for those types of players anymore. They are a dying breed who will now just move from game to game blowing through all the content and complaining about each one not having enough - never realizing that they are never going to hold sway over the developers because of what a minority they are. In vanilla wow if you played all the time you had all the loot from MC and BWL and it was all great to use in pvp making you a god over the non-raiders. I've not played Eve but ever since vanilla wow I have not seen any mmo reward the hardcore players and elevate them above the majority of the player base as much as wow did then. I really don't think that game style is ever coming back unless it's a korean grind style mmo that no one will want to play anyways so.... yeah. Hardcore players want a game where there's so much content to do that they are the only ones who have time to do it and it elevates them above the rest of the population. I just don't see this ever happening again - it's just a super poor decision on the developers part if they truly want their game to grow in numbers.
  7. True - or you could just have coaches - who watch and direct traffic from the sidelines
  8. It retrospect it might be easier to just let this stream to web browser on the swtor.com site or something - idk.
  9. Google "multicast" It's a networking protocol but the idea is the same for how it would work within software, I believe. Basically one stream of the video leaves the pvp game and once it hits the fleet then it's disbursed to all the end users standing in the fleet watching - that way you don't have 50 people tapping in to watch and effecting the latency within the instanced warzone - it's more like one additional person watching - or 5 if you have 5 cameras i guess - idk I would think to make it work you might have like 4 fixed cameras that are in the corner areas to see combat that happens away from the ball and then you'd need a intelligent camera that dynamically follows the balls location. I am not a programmer but if you can make a mob path so that it has direct line of sight to shoot at you why can't you do nearly the same thing with a video camera to make sure it has a clear shot of the action constantly? Just have to make the camera reposition much faster than a mob would move - since we all know how fast the ball can move around sometimes... I'm no programmer - just throwing around ideas.
  10. I was just thinking it would help with waitin in ques - no one would care as much...
  11. I think this would make pvp take on a whole new interest level for me
  12. Also interested in this. I have been sending alts out on investigation, UT, and TH missions and have not seen anything new. I wonder if I watched that "coming in 1.2 video" again and noted all the things they advertised how many of them are not in now? 1/3? 1/2?
  13. Actually if you craft the synthweaving exotech patterns that require the epic mats that drop off hard mode soa/karagga and you proc'd a augment slot on those they would technically be superior to T1.3 (rakata). It's just really hard to do that considering how rare those mats are right now.
  14. Bioware, The GTN on my repub alt's side is horrid. There's nothing to buy - I feel like I'm in China. Wouldn't it be quite a net gain in the area of customer satisfaction if you combined all the GTN's from all servers into one massive one?? It would make it all the more interesting for those that like to "play the market" and would not really have any significant impact on the individual server community.... No one really indentifies their server community by what their GTN is like - besides when it sucks because nothing is for sale!
  15. Btw several asked - the music is from Battlestar Galactica.
  16. Fraps'd a great game of alderaan last night and figured I'd share it. Don't know much about video editing so it's just the bare minimum. Also there's a clip of a cool huttball moment at the beginning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_P3qlzFVL8&context=C4d38b5bADvjVQa1PpcFN65GIUqM4-HzxZBjCzvSZGeRk9H3o73_c=
  17. Was taking your side It's ok. To that other person who does like the art design - that's cool - I respect your opinion - but ugly is ugly if you know what I mean Eye of the beholder, etc...
  18. Don't let the thread be derailed. I could give two craps about accepted art design principles. I just don't like it and many others don't as well - end of story.
  19. Bioware. I love star wars. I'm trying to like/want your 1.2 armor sets but everytime i look at the leaked preview pics from PTR I throw up a little bit in my mouth. http://www.oldrepublic.net/434-game-update-1-2-new-armors-looks-stats.html Why are you guys going this direction with armor art - it's just plain awful. Please please please please reconsider your direction on this. Thanks.
  20. ANY group doing soa on hard mode can still run into any number of bugs with him. We are killing him on hard mode now and it's normal to get a bug like a person being ported to a second instance no one is in from mind trap or the platforms don't fall down or etc or etc... I find Soa throws a bug at you that is enough to wipe your raid probably once out of every 3 times you try him? A really good raid group can usually ignore these bugs and still win but I don't think average raid groups will - the bugs are enough of a hindrance to wipe them. All the other bosses seem pretty stable though at this point - idk about nightmare mode as we've only done about half of them on NiM.
  21. Seriously, I want to be a female DARK LORD OF THE SITH - not a frakkin belly dancer! Seriously guys - get your art department in order. Your gogo girl female chest pieces are horrible. Just my 2 cents.
  22. Just accept it - Bioware is a noob that thinks it knows everything.
  23. Don't forget the ones people are going to want are going to be the crit craft oranges right? Cause they add a 4th slot for mods I think...
  24. Well... a couple things. Yes I've played a large amount already to have hit 50 3 days ago - but I was also in game on the 13th in the very first wave. I don't think my playtime has been that obsessive over the last 16 days - probably an average of 6-8 hours per day since then and I'm not the fastest leveler anyways. I waste a lot of time alt-tabbed out reading stuff on the web to learn the game usually... BUT - at the same time you have to realize a lot of us play the game for multiple reasons - and in different doses - we are not all the same people. Some peopel only like playing for 2 hours at a time and they've had their fill - others would get frustrated with ONLY being able to play 2 hours at a time because they'd feel they didn't even have a chance to dive into things with only two hours. Everyone is different. People need to not be so insecure (and I don't mean the person I'm responding to). I find all you haters are actually competitive people that WISH you had the time to be at 50 already and that's why you troll so hard. When in fact most of us that already are at 50 don't even care as much as those of you trolling us. Ironical eh?
