  1. I'm on the same boat with you, in that its a miracle, I have nightmares over releasing a product. I found a website where someone wrote up some "custom" .ini settings for this game and it pushes it as far as it can go without the high res textures. I drop from 90 or so to 50 avrg fps but the game looks pretty damn spiffy.
  2. I know theres a hidden one to kill the shield generators on all the ships attacking you. and one to blow up all those round ships randomly surrounding the big ship you're focused on.
  3. or just force a 4 or 8 man que, so they can do 4+4v8 games and such.. match groups vs groups..
  4. basically this x 1000. The game might lack here and there, but it is in no way a strong enough defect to push me to a different game. they should lock forums to accounts with active subs so once the 30 day is over the forums are clean ^_^ essentially blaming BW for playing towards its market of people with no patience, the second something takes time everyone complains, yet the second its done too fast they complain too. The market needs to make up its mind. Otherwise stop complaining.
  5. I only encounter giant green walls on tat when I go near republic towns. so as long as im not ganking they arent a problem ^_^
  6. Runs at 85-110 fps dependant on location. Highest settings (that exist in swtor... >_>) Idles at 22C with KAZE fan plugged in, 24C Unplugged. Runs SWTOR with said settings at 26-28C with Fan, 29-32C depended on how long (3+ hours for 28c or 32C) I've been playing Total cost including swtor was $710 Cost without obv $650 I opened an external HD up and use the 2.5 as my actual hd for now, its lower rpm but meh. 640 gigs. __________________________________________________ Rosewill CHALLENGER-U3 Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ,comes with Three Fans-1x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1x Top ... . 1 Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 ... . 1 Scythe DFS123812-3000 "ULTRA KAZE" 120 x 38 mm Case Fan . 1 COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible Intel ... . 1 OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom . 1 ASUS P8H67-M PRO/CSM (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard . 2 G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL . 1 EVGA 01G-P3-1556-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card . 1 SAMSUNG 22X DVD Burner SATA Model SH-222BB/BEBE - OEM
  7. Thank you for trying to spread intelligent thoughts to others.
  8. Exactly, but we should atleast give them those months, people were literally complaining and unsubbbing 2 days into the game. Don't be dumb, no it was not even close to less buggy. Up until about 08 people were still quitting because of how buggy things were. People were getting to 60 in 5 days played People are getting to 50 in 5 days played I've been playing since Monday on my current char and hes only level 26 The only people who took a month were people going at my pace, but on a less hour per day sched. (myself was included in those people) Why would you ever want a game to be the same as another is one question I have towards that.. Game was released Nov 23rd >.> Also not really, if anything things have spiraled downwards since 2004. (not speaking from a computer or game perspective )
  9. check the bottom of the post. I'm sorry that you think human beings in 2012 have the ability to perform at 3x the rate of human beings in 2004. Sure technology has evolved, but people haven't.
  10. Release date November 23rd 2004. First patch after release date. 6 December 2004: Removed time zone tabs from realm list for U.S., all servers now appear in one list. 18 December 2004: Maraudon is introduced, Gurubashi Arena Event, Cloak / Helm Graphics can be toggled, The first Feast of Great-Winter Event 21 December 2004: The EU version of patch 1.2 ■Rolling for items in the French and German will now work properly ■Resolved an issue with looting in click to move mode that could cause crashes ■Performance issues occurring with certain CPUs have been resolved (that took a month) (next decent patch 2 months later?) 15 February 2005: oh wait its empty 22 February 2005: ■This is a minor patch to address localization issues. ■Improved performance when large numbers of players are gathered in a small area of the world. 7 March 2005: ■Meeting Stones ■Dire Maul ■Azuregos ■Lord Kazzak (Finally introducing new end-game content, 4 months later fancy that.) 8th April 2005: ■Epic Priest quest introduced ■Epic Hunter quest introduced ■PvP Honor System introduced 7 June 2005: ■Battlegrounds are introduced: ■Alterac Valley ■Warsong Gulch Can we please just enjoy this game for what it is, code doesn't develop itself over night, and I can assure you Blizzard isn't handing over theirs to show BW how to create certain functions you all "love". I know this list doesn't include live/minor updates/fixes, but they would save any content updates for a major patch anyways so yeah. Thread #1566236236 about stupid things.
  11. Using the holocom photo of before and after, I was able to damn near recreate the "high res" photo by simply using photoshop to up the brightness and messing with the contrast a bit...
  12. Even Heroes of Newerth maxed out my old comp upon even opening the program, yet that comp could play swtor at 15ish fps without getting "too" hot. Even raised to like 25 average when I pointed a Ground fan right into an open side of the case.
  13. because people don't want to use the /who system, and therefore never realize theres a lfg tag. The game doesn't inform you of quite a few things it should.
  14. Um... Really? Is that why I idle at 24..? My old pos dusty 2004 built comp ran at around 85f so I don't understand how its a stretch.
  15. this, i group with people from /who and /general all the time who are in different instances, I wish people would actually experience the game before making complaints so they are atleast somewhat valid. Also if you open your map it lets you transport to other instances, and typically there is only 2. out of 110-150 players in zone.
  16. Running on highest, no v sync, 28 degrees was the max it got last night, with the heater in my room running. Played for 5 hours windowing down only 2-3 times. Theres something wrong if you're hitting that high >< Fans must be really weak or something. Oh and thats with my Ultra Kaze unplugged because its so loud.
  17. ahaha. hahahaha AHAHA. really out of the box the AH was user friendly? You've got to be kidding me. It literally melted peoples computers.
  18. While I disagree because almost every planet (when I go to them) has over 100 players. only times ive seen it dip at 2-3 am and its still above 75. + people pvping + people in dungeons + the entire other faction. I think it would be nice if they merged it down to about half the amount of servers. Would strengthen the bonds of the servers.
  19. i5 2500k, EVGA GTX550TI, 16 gigs of ram, 212 heatsink fan, destroys this game easy
  20. I can assure you, without a doubt, that when LFD was introduced, I went from knowing easily every single person in my raiding guild, and probably 100-200 or so other players, to knowing my 8 core friends via rl, maybe 5-6 guild members and 1 random person who I met way back when I started. It absolutely killed the need to know people. Even people I had been friends with for 3 or more years became obsolete. I am probably okay with a LFD tool as long as it stays server side. Although unlike many apparently, I have little to no problems finding groups for anything. I have spent maybe 5 minutes maximum trying to find a group, and that really is pushing it.
  21. I realize they don't apply to everyone, they aren't meant to. Further proving this game just has a unique experience for everyone Oh I forgot to list this one hilarious bug I ended up video taping. I got set on fire by some quest attacker and at the end of the battle I Was stuck in the air doing some zombie dance and there was no way out of it witohut a force quit and start back up I'd give the link but its on my fb I've honestly experienced more bugs with facebook than I have swtor though. I understand it is troublesome for some players with AMD hardware and such, but I went out of my way to build a new computer specifically for this game, and the results have been sheer quality. I'm not ignoring the fact that the game has flaws, but I've played damn near every big release for the past 10 years and its really not too far from any other game in terms of defects. Unrelated, but I noticed 3 days in a row now (had my new rig 4 days counting today aka 3 nights) bw has gone into update mode around 3am east. Its like they are actively trying to stop me from no lifing.
  22. I play a decent 75 fps in heavy areas. So thats not an issue like some seem to be plagued with. Occasionally, my skill triggers yet the cooldown doesn't and I can use it twice. My companion gets stuck somewhere and takes a few extra seconds to catch up unless i mash the attack or follow key. a text box stays on my screen after im done mousing over so i have to hit ctrl u ctrl u I leave a pvp dead and end up in the real world dead (not losing durability though) Loot shows up blue on the roll when its orange in actuality I get stuck and have to unstuck or relog (both of which take meer seconds) choppy going down mountain sides, idk if its a glitch but its buggy none the less Standing on a rock resets the mob I was tanking (this happens in damn near every game) Slice loot won't work if your companion is too far away, won't even cast for you, have to dismiss or wait for them to unbug. Looting in general seems buggy I'm sure there is more, but it doesn't matter how many there. My main point behind making this was.. None of those are game breaking, the game still freaking rocks. I'm constantly blown away with the release quality of this game. Missing your precious game ruining features is not a bug or a glitch. If this game existed outside the realm of impatience that WoW has brought on, people would be standing in the streets with lit candles holding their children staring into the stars, knowing that god has placed upon them something so beautiful, no words can describe. I don't even like star wars that much, but I'll be damned if I don't love this game.
  23. I love all the complaints about 20 fps. I played for 7 solid days on 5-15, 5 being the average. (.6-2 in talk sequences) and never complained.
