  1. Only if they have a levle 50 sith inquistior and they have the smuggler related to the sith inquistior in the family tree.
  2. Do you really think GL/Lucas Arts has no idea of what they are doing. They hold the license. Furthermore the setting on this game is not in the movies, so BW has the freedom to do more than what Sony could do. Sony game was based on the timeline on the movies. BW game is not based on that time line.
  3. The guild headquarters on SWTOR has been closed since the game went live. They closed it in January. The only thing I can tell you is look on your server for a guild. Try looking on the fleet or when you are questing or if you see someone that is in a guild talk to them about their guild. If you are looking for a roleplay server try this link: http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=325
  4. No you asked for a vote you get the vote and then you argue over the ones that say no. If you want to debat say so don't make it a poll and then nitpick the ones that say no. Furthermore, you have no idea of my attitude. I am usually fairly open minded until I read 50 pages of something and everytime someone says no you start niticking and arguing with them instead of listenting to their vote.. You want them to change their vote to your way of thinking becasue it seems you think by making this "supposed" vote you have the right to have everyone agree with you. That's not even a debate. A debate is two separtate opinions they may never agree with each other but they can debate the issue until they understand neither side is going to change and they respect the other's opinion whether or not they agree with it.. You don't. You have constantly on every post I read tried to get them to agree with your point of view. That's not going to work. I disagree and so do a lot of people and your harrassment and pestering isn't going to change the fact that some like the way it is going to be set up and some don't.
  5. If u did Nar Shadda before Taris it most likely that you are too far ahead in the levels on Taris and you will not get any xp on it. That's why you should always check the levels before you go to any planet if you are given a choice of planets.
  6. No. I have seen it misused by other people too many times so the way they are doing it is the way it should be. Note: Starglide, don't bother arguing with me my answer is still no or do you not understand some people don't like the idea so you think by arguing with them you can make them see your way. You asked for their vote yet when they say no you constantly argue with them or is this your way of starting an argument.
  7. Guid Summit Questions and Answers: This one is regarding Crew Skills Crew skills crew skill missions is the #2 moneysink. Not every crewskill is viable for endgame – only biochem currently is. Coming up in 1.2 – legacy upgrades – improve C2-N2/Rv-N8 crafting abilities with equipment. Reverse engineering received a major overhaul– better rates and you can reverse eng more items – we made it a lot more useful. Endgame mods from reverse engineering. You can craft operation gear with critical augments. EVERY CREW SKILL IS BEING GIVEN AN ENDGAME USE Augment crafting – sythweaving, armstech armormech will be able to make augments Slicing – will be become the source of augment materials. Cybertech speeders will become BoE (Bind on Equip). Changed prices on speeders – you are now paying less for tier 3 speeder training but cool looking mounts – expect to pay more. Cybertech grenades – shorter cooldowns. Artifice – new color crystals and it is the first profession to gain our PvP crafting – gain mats and schematics from doing PvP and purchasing bags. 5 page of patch notes for crew skill – a blog released soon! Crafting – avg craft is richer, looks better and better geared than a non-crafter. we expect this to really take off with patch 1.2 Q & A: Q: expensive to remove 25 mods but if you can make those mods, shouldn’t it be cheaper for you? A: not for 1.2, we will look into it. Q: I pvp, my gear never breaks, add repair cost to pvp? A: maybe – riot in the audience. Yes we are aware of the discrepancy PvE and PvP gear repair costs. Net income between PvPers and PvEers are actually about the same. Q: is there a design intent to give crew skills a social purpose? Like allow crew skills able to change colors A: with 1.1.5 – lightsaber colors – all colors are available with the same stats. We are adding a large number of orange gears to the game – you will be only able to get them from crafters; crafters – best source of customized appearances in 1.2 Q: I can get armoring crew skills to make rakata equipment and then dismiss that crew skill and learn biochem and still wear my Rakata items. On the other hand, if I learn Biochem first, make a rakata stim and then learn synthweaving or anything else – I can’t use the reuseable stim anymore. A: Reuseable stims wil be phased out over time – they will not be upgraded in the future. Q: Exotech stims – the epic materials are very hard to get and produce (from highest level of diplomacy missions) – any plans to change that? A: Bioanalyis is very low and there are a lot more biochems – so there is a huge inflation on bioanalysis materials. Not much we can do about that – supply and demand will take care of it by itself. Q: Cybertech healer – can I get kolto grenade? A: It’s a good idea. Q: Contract system for crafting – request to have something made? A: yes it is on the wall of crazy, not immediate concern but its in the works. probably some day. Q: Some clothing options look slightly different color on different classes? A: some items look different between republic and empire – this is an intentional feature to preserve some faction identity. in terms of color – what you said is not something we have seen, can you send us a screenshots? Q: Crafting gear better than endgame pvp/pve? A: yes it is better but it is more work since you have to extract mods from endgame gear and get a critted orange gear made. Also losing the restrictions on some of the operation mat drops to help out crafters. We are going to bring out crafting to its full glory – crafting is fully supported on all patches. Q: 1. Phasing out reuseables – how far is it to make every crew skill to be viable in game? 2. RE chance at end-game level, is it worth the risk? A: 1.2 will have a tooltip that can tell you if you can RE something and get something out of it. We also increase the gains from RE and removing the duplicates out of the RE system so you don’t re-learn the same schematic. In terms of reuseables – we are really bootstrapping the augment economy with this patch so phasing out reuseables is not a concern at this point. Q: Any plans for longer crew skills missions – 16 hr missions for epic stuff or greater returns A: we like the idea too – incentive to log on at least once a day. Q: any plans to add crafting daily to give people option to get high level mats? A: new resource nodes on new content and also on existing high level areas to help you out. Also we will eliminate the BoP restriction on the operation mats. Q: possible to send two companions to send on the same mission to reduce the time: A: not possible right now. With 1.2 expensive missions you brought from GTN are no longer failable
  8. Actually not roleplaying with someone because you dont like something is a choice. The point I'm making is I can choose to roleplay with who I want and when I want but I am in no way will tell someone what they are doing is wrong. I will explain that their style and mine don't work at this time. Does that mean that later I will not roleplay with them? No. Just means for now our styles are different and I am not infringing on their rights to roleplay their way. I didn't say I would ignore you, just said I wouldn't roleplay with you. There a difference. The only people I ignore are people who are rude, mean and harrass me and then they are given 3 warnings before they are ignored. And I rarely roleplay in a cantina so finding my character hanging around a cantina might be a little hard. My guild tends to roleplay in character in quests, in flashpoints, out in the world. We rarely hang around the cantina, so good luck in finding me there.
  9. If that is what you want it doesn't affect me considering I have a choice to roleplay with you or not. If I don't roleplay with you it doesn't affect me at all.
  10. As someone else said roleplay is a choice you choose to do on your own character. What I do with my character can be entirely different than what you do with yours. Neither is wrong, just different. People have different styles of roleplay and that is what makes things fun and different. If you don't like a certain roleplay style or something they are doing, the simple solution is not to roleplay with them. People have a right to choose how they want to play whether it fits what you think they should do or not. Some jedi may carry a red saber but with the options of more colors being available there are more colors to choose than just that and some may choose a different color altogether. Same can be applied to the Sith. We do not have the right to tell someone else what they are doing is wrong. When we do that we are wrong and that is where we also are infringing on someone else's rights to enjoy the game the way they want to. This may not be something you like but some people like it and we should just let them enjoy the game. The decision has been made to allow different colors so the best thing we can do is learn to live with it. I didn't like the way the legacy name was tied into all my characters but I learned to live with it. Sometimes you have to learn to just go on and let some things go. Unfortunely for roleplayers we are the miniority in the game and so for the majority of people they wanted this and that is why it was allowed. Do you have to like it ? No. But to try to tell someone else how to roleplay their character we can't do.
  11. With regard to the legacy abilities here is an article regarding it: Other Legacy unlocks will not be available until you've leveled a class to 50, however. Such is the case with unlocking new skills. Do you wish your Bounty Hunter could shoot Force lightning? After 1.2, if you relate the Bounty Hunter to a level 50 Inquisitor, it'll be possible, though with some significant limitations. A Bounty Hunter won't suddenly turn into a Force-wielding super user. Every class has a heroic moment ability which requires the presence of a companion to activate. Only by using these heroic moment abilities will you be able to access the cross-class Legacy abilities. That essentially means you can only use the abilities out in the questing world; they're locked out when you're in a full group or in a PvP Warzone. "It's a balancing mechanism. We wanted to make the abilities powerful and useful but we know that some players are going to eventually have all seven others on one character. We had to be cognizant of that when we were creating them so we don't give the player seven super-powerful abilities he can use in rapid succession." Notice you can't use them in groups or pvp only in your personal solo quests with a companion. In full groups and pvp they are locked so for the most part you will not even see them and that also depends on how the bounty hunter or imperial agent is realted to a level 50 Inquisitor.
  12. Actually since everything in the saber is a personal choice for a jedi/sith that would also include the crystal. A jedi/sith chooses each componet of his or her saber and that usually reflects his/her personality or personal choice and that would also include a crystal. Whether a sith or jedi use normal colors or something differnet that is their choice. Sure most Sith may use a red crystal but that doesn't mean they always have to. A crystal is not a reflection of anything other than a choice. Whether a Sith uses a red or green does that change the fact they are Sith? No, they are still sith. Same as with a Jedi. In this time era there are many caves that a jedi or even a sith could get a crystal from. In this era they are not limited yet that comes at a later date.
  13. Blue is the tradiional saber colour of a Jedi Guardian...Jedi who were more 'assertive'/outward-directed by temperament and focused their training more on developing outer skills including the intricacies of combative use of the lightsaber and less on inner development including intricacies of understanding and using the Force...thus a particular common colour of Ilum/Adegan crystal powered blade came to be known as "Guardian Blue". Green is the traditional saber colour of a Jedi Consular...Jedi who were more 'pacifist'/inward-directed by temperament and focused their training more on inner development including intracacies of understanding and using the Force and less on outer skills including the intricacies of combative use of the lightsaber...thus a particular common colour of Ilum/Adegan crystal powered blade came to be known as "Consular Green". Basically these represent a traditional Jedi religious/philosophical distinction between exoteric and esoteric mindsets and behaviours. Yellow is the colour of the Jedi Sentinel...Jedi who sought out corruption and were more balanced in temperament and sought a balance in training between exoteric studies of lightsaber combatives and esoteric studies of the Force...thus the less common yellow coloured crystal powered blade came to be known as "Sentinel Yellow" in the Old Jedi Order. Jedi Sentinels do however appear to have vanished completely sometime before the reformation of the Old Jedi Order in the wake of the Battle Of Ruusan, 1000 years before the Battle Of Yavin in SW Ep IV ANH. Certainly by the time of the Battle Of Geonosis in SW Ep II AOTC and the Temple Purge in SW EpIII ROTS there are no yellow bladed lightsabers and therefore perhaps no Jedi Sentinels to be seen. It is important to understand that even in the pre-Ruusan-reformation Jedi Order of the Old Republic the 'class' colour of a Jedi's lightsaber was not fixed for life...rather it was only their FIRST lightsaber crystal given to them by a panel of Masters to build their FIRST lightsaber with after an oral examination to determine their temperament and which direction of training would thus be best for them...once a Jedi had completed his training he was completely free to replace his given colour crystal with a different coloured crystal of his own choosing at any time...the colours were only 'tradition' of a Jedi's training as Guardian, Consular or Sentinel and Jedi Knights were not 'bound' by them, though they might choose to continue that path and saber colour if and as they wished. In the Old Republic there were also many rare coloured crystals that could be found as well, including Orange, Gold, Bronze, Cyan [sunriders Destiny] and Viridian [described as a silverish green] as well as a pure silver-white [Adegan Silver] if they wished to change their initial colour crystal for personal reasons. And of course that included PURPLE/violet crystals that had become extremely rare by the post-Ruusan era and became most famous among Jedi as the purple 'Hurikaine crystal' used by Master Windu who created Vaapad, the even more aggressive perfected variant of ancient Lightsaber Combat Form VII Juyo...purple, being a chromatic cross between 'Guardian' blue' and 'Sith' Red reminded Windu of the constant danger of a Fall that treading close to the Dark Side that Vaapad's hyper aggressive form required and channeled into its ferocious effectiveness. Grey Jedi unlike Order Jedi have always done as they pleased including using any unconventional saber crystal colours without regard or consideration of tradition. Dark Jedi likewise though many, but not all, favoured various red shades for reasons similar to the Sith. The Sith Order of course have always used a particular shade of bright Red that signifies Passion to them, Passion being a particular Sith Code value they seek to enhance in themselves. This colour was uniform as Sith developed a particular process of producing slightly more powerful synthetic ligthsaber crystals, since the Old Jedi Order had controlled most of the natural supply. That process produced a uniform shade of red crystal powered blade that came to be associated with the Sith. It is important to also understand that by the time of the New Jedi Order in the wake of SW EpVI ROTJ with its final destruction of the Old Sith Order as well as the Old Jedi Order that all traditional associations with colour had completely broken down and therefore later NJO Jedi used whatever colour crystal they wanted [or could find, or make as Luke did, since saber crystals were harder to come by after the Purge] with no 'traditional' associations whatsoever. Even red shade lightsabers were used by Jedi of the NJO
  14. Sounds like the gunslinger knows how to play his/her class. And just for the record as someone stated they can't heal unless they have med packs. Only smuggler class that can heal is the scoundrel.
  15. This is true. A roleplayer can take this and change it to fit their story. It's not really ruining roleplay unless you let it.
  16. So instead of working with the person that has connection problem we just dismiss them so that they never get to do an operation. Yea that's a good idea. Just say well so sorry but you can't play with us. Sorry I'm not made that way. I will find a way to include everyone in my guild and make everyone feel included.
  17. It's kind of sad the community has gotten like this judging people in Pugs like this. There could be a reason someone is having problems. Some could be new to the game and is just learning how to play yet people want to judge them and make comments aobut how they are letting everyone down. Just Great make a person feel bad so that they never want to play again. That is so wrong. Some could have slow connections and at times their computer could be delaying in the action when fighting. I know people who are good in what they do but sometimes their connection is slow. So we judge them? Since when does it become our right to judge someone and make them feel bad. That's why a lot of times you will be asking for groups and no one will join because of this attitude. No one has the right to make someone feel bad no matter what. This is only a game and not like it can't be repeated. You can learn by doing the instances and seeing what went wrong and going by that without having to have everyone read their logs especially if you are a good raider. .
  18. Maybe understanding the code would be easier after reading the way each line is defined: Meaning of the Jedi Code phrases. * There is no emotion, there is peace Emotions are a natural part of living. As the great sagas have shown us, Jedi are not immune to feeling emotions. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda both openly express their sorrow when they discover the death of younglings at the newly-appointed Darth Vader's hand. This tenet is not to say that emotion does not exist but that it ought to be set aside. Emotions must be understood first, and it is a young Jedi's duty to explore his feelings. Unless a Jedi can confront his thoughts and feelings, he will never achieve peace. Emotions, then, are not to be overcome or denied, but rather understood and dealt with. A'Sharad Hett reminds the young Anakin Skywalker of this during their campaigns together during the Clone Wars. Hett points out that Anakin's anger is understandable, but he must face it. This tenet could be modified to read "Emotion cannot take away my peace." * There is no ignorance, there is knowledge A Jedi must be circumspecting and try to understand the world that is surrounding him. That ignorance does not exist is, of course, a flat-out lie or gross misunderstanding. Ignorance is a part of life but it must not be feared. For more knowledge to light their way, the Jedi Temple Archives contains possibly the single largest source of information in the galaxy, but this tenet also reminds the Knight that knowledge can be taken from the most unusual places. The great Master Yoda demonstrated this to the young Luke Skywalker on Dagobah when he acted like a fool, and when he acted childish in front of younglings. This performance was meant to teach Luke and the younglings the simple fact: even the foolish can be wise. Indeed, while instructing younglings, Master Yoda was often heard to remark that "Truly wonderful the mind of a child is." This tenet is what gives the Jedi his open mind and ability to accept what other beings would tend to see as unacceptable. In other words, this tenet points out that often a Jedi must use not only his rational mind but also his intuitive mind in order to ascertain the truth of a situation. This tenet is embodied by Qui-Gon Jinn's statement to Anakin Skywalker to "feel, don't think." Dexter Jettster would further demonstrate this notion: "I should think you Jedi would have more respect for the difference between knowledge and wisdom." * There is no passion, there is serenity This tenet is essentially a repetition of the first. But this refers more directly to situations of extreme stress in which a Jedi might be tempted to react strongly. That a Jedi must draw his weapon only in defense is an expression of this tenet. While emotions and intuition must be understood and utilized in a Jedi's daily life, he must never act rashly. Passionate use of power leads to the dark side. A Jedi must always act with a calm hand and an even temper. * There is no chaos, there is harmony This statement reflects the cosmology of the Jedi Order. Whereas uninitiated beings see the universe as a chaotic and disconnected place, a Jedi realizes that all things are interconnected and, more importantly, interdependent. While an uninitiated being sees sorrow and tragedy in the workings of the universe, through the Force, a Jedi is able to interpret and understand even the most painful of life's events. Without this cosmology, surely the first tenets of the Jedi Code would be meaningless. After all, how could one possibly forsake love and compassion if he did not understand the truth of the universe: there is no chaos, there is harmony. Every event has a purpose. As the great Jedi Master Yoda told Anakin Skywalker once, "Death is a natural part of life." Minor inconveniences such as failure, disappointment, and disagreement are also inevitable and should be taken in stride. Jedi do not deny the fact that tragic and terrible things happen; they merely point out that tragedy is simply another part of life. Without this tenet, all other tenets of the Jedi Code would be meaningless. * There is no death, there is the Force A Jedi, like many ancient feudal knights of various empires, must always be ready for death. As a warrior not only in combat but also in day-to-day life, it is easy to fail and fall. As Qui-Gon Jinn pointed out to the young Anakin Skywalker, it is quite possible to kill a Jedi, and it happens often. The sense of loss is often even greater for one who feels it with the Force. Death, however, is not a tragedy and is merely a part of the life cycle. Without death, life could not exist. The Force in us, still lives on after we die. This tenet represents a darker side of the Jedi Order, the side that accepts, indeed embraces, death, rot and corruption of corporeal forms. As such, Jedi do not fear death nor do they mourn it overmuch; a Jedi, after all, must celebrate death if he is to also celebrate life. While sources disagree on this point, it is noteworthy to point out that this tenet does not support vegetarianism among the Jedi but, some scholars argue, it does in fact support omnivorism among Jedi. This could also refer to living forever as a force ghost.
  19. . Some guilds like voice some don't. If you don't then make sure the guild knows it upfront or ask them if it is a requirement to use . Using voice is usually a preferance. If it not somethng you like and they make it a requirement than politely say thank you but no thank you. This depends on how you define social. Some guilds will talk in guild chat constantly unless they are involved in a fight or something, and that is expected. Some guilds also use guild chat for roleplay (if they are a roleplaying guild) so make sure of your interests in the social aspect and find out if they talk/roleplay in guild chat if that is something you like to do. If they don't again say no thank you. Check and see how many are level 50 and what their schedule is. If you have very few level 50 then that's one reason for not doing hard mode flash points. Also if there is enough level 50 to do one, then suggest one. Don't put it all on the guild leader/officers to always suggest a flashpoint. The people in the guild can also suggest one if there is not one schedule. Take a little initative and say something. Sometimes they may not know you want to do them if you don't say anything.
  20. As far as the information available there isnt' any general swtor server for voice atm. Whether that changes remains to be seen. Some use voice and others don't, that is normally a preferance. But as most have said try to find some help if you need help and most of all have fun.
  21. Considering every element in a light saber is a personal choice of the jedi the crystal should be no different. Each elements reflects the jedi and is a personal choice and thats the way it should be.
  22. Information on Canon and who Leland Chee is and how canon is established By 1996, Licensing was keeping an in-house bible of reference materials as the volume of publications, facts, and figures grew to such unwieldy proportions that it became difficult to know everything relevant to a particular project. They finally decided something had to be done to organize the increasingly large collection of media which chronicled the Star Wars universe. A system of canon was developed that organized the materials into what was and wasn't fit for the Star Wars story. In 2000, Lucas Licensing appointed Leland Chee to create a continuity tracking database referred to as the "Holocron". As with every other aspect having to do with the overall story of Star Wars, the Holocron follows the canon policy that has been in effect for years. The Holocron is divided into 5 levels (in order of precedence): G-canon, T-canon, C-canon, S-canon, and N-canon. G-canon is absolute canon; the movies (their most recent release), the scripts, the novelizations of the movies, the radio plays, and any statements by George Lucas himself. G-canon overrides the lower levels of canon when there is a contradiction. Within G-canon, many fans follow an unofficial progression of canonicity where the movies are the highest canon, followed by the scripts, the novelizations, and then the radio plays. T-canon[2] refers to the canon level comprising only the two television shows: Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the Star Wars live-action TV series. Its precedence over C-Level canon was confirmed by Chee.[3] C-canon is primarily composed of elements from the Expanded Universe including books, comics, and games bearing the label of Star Wars. Games and RPG sourcebooks are a special case; the stories and general background information are themselves fully C-canon, but the other elements such as character/item statistics and gameplay are, with few exceptions, N-canon. S-canon is secondary canon; the story itself is considered non-continuity, but the non-contradicting elements are still a canon part of the Star Wars universe. This includes things like the online roleplaying game Star Wars: Galaxies and certain elements of a few N-canon stories. N-canon is non-canon. "What-if" stories (such as stories published under the Star Wars: Infinities label), crossover appearances (such as the Star Wars character appearances in Soulcalibur IV), game statistics, and anything else directly contradicted by higher canon ends up here. N-canon is the only level that is not considered official canon by Lucasfilm. A significant amount of material that was previously C-canon was rendered N-canon by the release of Episodes I-III. Leland Chee continues to answer questions about the Holocron in the Holocron continuity database questions thread at the starwars.com forums. On August 4, 2004, when asked if the G and C-levels formed separate and independent canon, Chee responded by stating that both were part of a single canon: "There is one overall continuity." In a December 7, 2005 post, Chee commented on how the Holocron is applied to licensees: "The Holocron comes into play for anything official being developed for books, games, websites, and merchandise. For anything beyond that, it is simply a reference tool." In a December 6, 2006 post, Chee suggests the existence of a second continuity composed only of the films: "The only relevant official continuities are the current versions of the films alone, and the combined current version of the films along with whatever else we've got in the Holocron. You're never going to know what George's view of the universe beyond the films at any given time because it is constantly evolving." On a post made on the same day, Chee stated that: "Anything not in the current version of the films is irrelevant to Film only continuity." This statement confirms the existence of two separate continuities, the "film only" continuity maintained and followed by George Lucas himself, and the "films + EU" continuity that is used for licensed products; G-Canon, and Star Wars Canon.
