  1. I would like to see macros added also. It is a myth that macros currently exist in the "I win button" form. Those types of macros require feedback of the current state of the game that you won't get with a razer / logitech device. It is possible to do it with autohotkey / autoit, however, getting that feedback would require a lot more effort than it would be worth.
  2. Wow's release was not very buggy at all. There were few bugs; most of which were server / backend problems. All games come with bugs, but you can EASILY see which companies take the time to fix the obvious ones pre-release. This game is still in beta but we're paying full price for it. The graphics were upgraded because of how long the game had been out. Using the 7 years of polish excuse is pathetic and lame. Are you implying that we should compare this game to one we could have had 7 years ago? Do you think that's a good thing? No, just no. The release was rushed, and we're paying for it. It's unlikely the majority of the people that left due to the lack of polish will ever give this game another shot. You only get 1 chance to make a first impression. Obvious bugs should not be released in a 'finshed' product. Having said that, I personally like the game. I also know that I'm not enough to fund this game. It takes a lot of people to fund an MMO of this nature; you should probably work on providing correct information that is more geared to what they have done wrong/right so that we can have more people playing and the MMO will survive. Blindly saying things that aren't true in order to cover up massive flaws is fail, you are hurting this game.
  3. I'm having the exact same problem. Fighting the camera/controls is always a game breaker for me. FFXI has the same problem (it happened much slower, and the camera would slowly settle to the ground instead of zooming in) and the main reason I stopped playing it. Not sure how much longer I can stand to fight it before I go play something else.
  4. I hit 50 before starting on Corellia. I'm going to assume that many other people do also.
  5. Don't know why you need a video, it's night and day in the screenshot.
  6. Same thing happened to a bunch of us on our server, no one was afk.
  7. It's weird that it doesn't show the correct class icon for anyone in their group. These kind of numbers are only possible if your team is winning. Notice he only died twice. Getting big healing is only possible due to the ability to hurt yourself for force (mana). That kind of healing is just padding and doesn't mean anything. You won't find many healers breaking 300k.

  9. The grade 3 missions are easy. Honestly, I have never even lost my shields on any of the none grade 5 missions (there are 3 of them). 2 things 1) Shoot things that are going to shoot you, there is never a time where you shouldn't be shooting AND things can be shot. They can't shoot you if you make them explode. 2) Use wsad and spacebar to dodge incoming fire. It takes both, just pressing spacebar does nothing, you still get shot. Also, going back and forth will still get you shot, go in cirlces. ie W D S A repeated forever, hold each key long enough to move your ship as far as it will go in that direction (relative to the mouse), spamming spacebar along the way. You're going to be hurting when you get to the "hard" ones.
  10. The air bag doesn't actually save your car, though, does it? A better investment would be into keep the car from crashing to begin with. I wonder how many of the people posting in this thread have actually healed an HP stacking tank. It's not pleasant.
  11. A few tips: Theran is hands down the best companion we have for killing bosses / elites / champs, keep him geared. I suggest putting him into the healing stance, and turning off his 2 dps moves and sometimes turning off his holiday move (some mobs are immune to CC and he will still channel it for 10s at a time effectively doing nothing). Personally, I always turn holiday off, but it does help a lot on elites that can be CC'd. Every time you dismount or re-summon theran you will have to set these abilities off again. Using either of our Tanks are the FASTEST way to clear through mobs, but tanks don't last very long against the elites. Start the fight with Clairvoyant Strike x2, during the 2nd one, pop force potency, any relics you have, AND battle readiness. You should be able to activate all of your cooldowns before the 2nd Clairvoyant Strike has completely finished. Next, use Force Breach followed by Project, both will likely crit, and by this point you more than likely will have Infiltration Tactics up. Force Stun, then Shadow Strike. Soon as the stun is over, force deflection. You are using this later so that Theran actually has something to heal / do, and so that it doesn't overlap with force stun. Go with the standard rotation of Clairvoyant Strike x2 -> [filler] -> Project Filler can be any move, typically force breach, spinning strike, or saber strike. Use Blackout on cooldown. On your next Infiltration Tactics, use Low Blow in order to make use of it. When using Low Blow wait for it to almost expire before hitting him in order to regain as much energy as you can. When deflection expires use Unity. If the mob is exceptionally tough, use Channel the Force (make sure your force stun is ON cooldown before using this, and you'll get another stun). Don't miss your interrupts, if your interrupt is on cooldown use resilience instead. If you screw up and take a big hit, or theran just can't keep up, use force slow and run in circles close enough for Theran to heal you. This buys theran time to catch up and lets your cooldowns come back up. You can use low blow when force slow runs out, then follow it up with another force slow. Honestly, any Elite that can be CC'd is easy meat for us. You will find that most Heroic 2 and some Heroic 4 quests are solo'able by a shadow.
  12. You guys seem to think that there is some kind of new magical mechanic that makes tanking in this game different than any other game, there isn't. This isn't theory: Get enough End in order to provide the healer with enough time to heal you, anything beyond that is useless. Some healers need more time, some bosses have more burst / movement for the healer. I suggest getting enough End for the worst case boss fight, then going all willpower. Threat is an issue in this game and having more willpower helps. This is basic logic, you can apply it to every game with a tank (keep in mind most games will let you choose between mitigation/avoidance and HP rather than a dps stat and HP). It's very obvious why having more hp than what you actually need is useless. If you never drop below 10k life, whats the point in having it? It doesn't help with healing at all. Ending the fight sooner AND holding threat better will help with healing. Having a "safety zone" is a waste of much needed stats, do you still use training wheels on your bike too? This comes from my years of experience playing many mmo's both as a healer and a tank. edit: typo fix
  13. Multiple specs ftw. Honestly, if you think it makes the game easier, you're an idiot. Having the option to respec at all is what changes the mechanics of the game. You can ALREADY, IN THE GAME YOU ARE CURRENTLY PLAYING, go from being a 'munitions' expert to a professional doctor. *poof* Having multiple specs doesn't decrease the quality of the players either. It's ridiculous to think that having just 1 spec will make a bad player better. They are going to be bad no matter what you do. You guys might as well be arguing that our PCs are going to get fat from these "easy mode" spaceships that instantly warp us across the galaxy. That's just not right, say no to fat PCs, we should have to walk /facepalm.
  14. They should just make players immune to stuns... stop treating us as crappy weak mobs, and turn us into champions.
  15. It's interesting that in the Clone Wars the republic uses ships that are very similar to the star destroyers from the trilogy. http://images.wikia.com/banthapedia/images/4/40/Venator.jpg
  16. It's actually played by some of the best gamers in the world. The competitive end game content of wow is part of the reason wow is still going strong. Also, cataclysm has thus far been way better than wotlk. There are only a couple of games in history that even have world-wide renown for accomplishing anything in them, and wow is one of those games. You might as well be saying monopoly isn't a board game, football isn't a sport, and the Olympics aren't played by athletes. Wouldn't you rather have a game with 4 completely unique class stories and 5 skill trees, rather than 8 kind-of-sort-of different classes, with duplicated class stories that are in no way different and will bring you little to no satisfaction doing again? Since when is giving the player more options (it doesn't remove your option to level an alt) without forcing repeat content a bad thing in an mmo? I hope a lot of the nay-sayers stick around long enough for this to happen. So you can see what a positive effect it has on your game. Not enough tanks? No problem. Need a healer? Here you go. VS Sorry I'm a marauder/gunslinger.
  17. I would like to have quad spec like rift. A spec for every occasion!
  18. WoW isn't dead and it certainly won't die from respec's. Is your opinion / argument so weak that you have to lie in order to win? So much fail in this reply.
  19. Not having respecs and forcing us to "re-roll" is a completely valid choice. However, you're more likely to see something like that in a korean mmo (this roughly translates to a grindy mmo). Having played as many mmo's as I have, it has been my experience that re-using identical content isn't fun, and the more choice you have the better. Allowing users to change their AC would give a much better option to those of us that would rather not redo everything again. I realize it's "just the first 10 levels" but those levels are horribly slow(no speeder/sprint?) and redundant (used by 1 other base class). This would also not hinder those that do not want to re-spec and would rather re-roll as it does not prevent them from doing so. Please give us the option. /voted
  20. It's sad that the mats for crafting those crystals are worth a lot more than the crystal. On my server the crystals go for 30-35k. The Corusca gems alone are worth more than that.
  21. These posts are so silly. You should compare video games to other video games. We, the consumers, have a limited amount of time and money to invest in entertainment. That investment will happen in the present (2012). Comparing your options to spend your time and money makes a lot more sense than what ever insanity you are suggesting. Would you compare a car made this year to one made last year? A computer? A console? If you're not then you're also limiting your choices and potentially missing out on a better product. "But wow has had million of dollars and years to develop, it's not fair!!!" Actually, it is fair. Consumers will buy what's best right now because that's all that matters. Why would a consumer care that your video game is going to be the best ever 8 years from now? Are you going to wait 8 years for that video game? No. You'll play whats available.... right now. Comparing apples to apples is something you should be doing. Wow and swtor are both apples (hint: apples = form of entertainment).
  22. I've gotten pretty close to 300k a few times. I only have a couple pieces of pvp gear and my weapon isn't that great. I'm sure you could break 400k fully geared playing against people without pvp gear.
