  1. Just happened to me over the weekend, or at least within the last week or so. Friday evening, I defeated Central Network Guardian, the final boss of The Dread Guard, then logged out before leaving the instance (I was in a hurry to head out). I logged in Sunday evening, but was stuck in place, inside the instance where I had logged out. The running animation was fine, but my character didn't move. All I could do was jump straight up and rotate the camera. The /stuck command didn't work either. I used the fleet pass to bail out, then used the planetary bonus mission transport to get back to the dailies terminal. I finished up the rest of the Section X dailies as well as those from The Black Hole, Oricon, and CZ-198. It wasn't until I hit the fleet to spend 50 LS tokens on a new mount that I noticed my alignment had been reset. I dropped from 100k LS points to just 13k. I've been doing these dailies for the last two weeks, so it's possible this happened earlier. I don't remember how many alignment points you get as a reward, but when I log back in to find out, I can do the math to get an idea if this actually happened over the weekend or if earlier in the week. I just thought logging in whilst stuck in place inside the boss' instance might have had something to do with this. I'm doubtful we'll get our alignment points back, based on all the generic CS responses people have been receiving. Just sucks that it happened on my "collector" toon, and that the LS mounts will have to wait until I re-grind the rest of my 87k LS points. Ugh...
  2. I push heal button. Cast bar fills. Force spent. I get no heals.
  3. Sorry! I hate speculation threads too, but the idea of Legacy ships (or stations you could shuttle to within the fleet) is too cool not to talk about. This has come up briefly in other Legacy threads, but no one has gone into detail regarding what exactly they would like to see in this regard. My favorite MMOs all had one thing in common: customizable player housing. Ultima Online: Lord Blackthorn's Revenge incorporated custom housing. Literally, you could build your own house/mansion/castle the way you wanted it, then decorate it the way you wanted it. That 'other' Star Wars game (which I hate mentioning, but loved pre-CU) had player/guild housing, and if you stuck around or came back for it, ginormous space yachts you could decorate. Final Fantasy XI: Online had mog houses you could fill with player-made furniture and collectibles. It kind of goes without saying, but players love customizing everything in their games, especially when it comes to MMOs. I think player housing should come standard in all MMOs nowadays. With such a story-driven MMO and the Legacy system, ships would be a perfect way incorporate a gathering place for your alts to hang out in and interact with each other, even if it means having them spout nonsense as you pass by (C2-N2 anyone?). The Lucky 38 in Fallout: New Vegas is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I could go on, but I'd rather hear what the rest of the community thinks. Post your ideas or flame me for beating dead horse; whatever floats your... ship?
  4. aka "Banana Peel Dress". Cute. Real cute.
  5. I rejected Nadia. "No time fo luv, docta Jones!" Seriously though, I was hoping for more teacher/student story, but instead, her storyline just... died. Then again, since I hit 50, all I've been doing is PvP. Maybe grinding her affection to max might open more story? /shrug
  6. Just wanted to reinforce all the great, accurate advice given so far. As you continue to accumulate PvP gear, you'll find yourself such a nuisance to your enemies, that they will actively hunt you down for an attempted gang ****. I used to get frustrated by it, but now I think it's kind of flattering . It also provides a distraction if used strategically (mostly in Voidstar, as half the other team keeps their eyes on you, and not the prize). I find that while we, as seers, don't always top the healing/dmg/medal charts, we are the ones that contribute most when playing objectively. And when your fellow teammates take notice of all the cappers you've stopped/protected and all the FC's you've kept alive long enough to score, you'll rack up the MVP votes, which boosts your Valor (and your ego). We have the tools to be able to fend off the cappers for a while until your mates arrive, even when solo defending 1v3 (or more, depending on how good you are. I'll spare you both the real and fake stories of how awesome I am ). In essence, you will most likely be hunted down, targeted and murdered, because the (good) Imps KNOW what an asset you are to your team. But at least you'll make it a pain in the *** for them. Lastly, some general PvP advice aimed at no one in particular: • Get in vent and hunt in packs. Solo warzoning can be HARD as a healer, and quite frustrating. • Don't focus on topping charts at first; focus on completing objectives and winning to complete the daily/weekly for Champion Bags. The sooner you get your gear, the better you'll get at doing your job. Many PvP'ers get caught up in just trying to kill the other guys - rookie mistake. • "Fight on the flag."
  7. @Nellett Been PvP heals as a Sage (50) for a while now and I'm looking at rolling a smuggler for a change of scenery. How did/is this working out for you, both in PvP and leveling in PvE? What level are you now? Are the 2 points in Cover Screen working as well as you'd hoped? Status update, please! @everyone else No one commented on Nellett's builds? I'm more interested in the final 2/8/31 spec. I definitely see the potential for crazy-high damage, but am left curious about the use Cover Screen. It looks decent on paper, but how is it out in the field? If you were to place those other 2 points into something else, without changing anything else, where would you put them? • Flash Powder? (DF) • Dirty Trickster? (DF) • Steady Sots? (SS) • Underworld Hardships? (Sab) I see the pros of this build, but what of the cons? Thanks and take it sleazy,
  8. Hey, I'm a guy (not just a guy, but a 'dude's dude' kind of guy), and this is also important to me. You're not alone in this, sister. If I'm stuck with a character for 50 levels and years(?) of time invested into this thing, I want it to be perfect the first time around. I don't have the time or patience to re-roll to perfection. Measure twice, cut once.
  9. My bad. The herp derp in me usually surfaces pretty quickly when I see rage posts. Here's something constuctive: Most caster roles in all MMOs start out pretty weak. Be patient, spend some time gaining more levels (in PvE*) and unlocking new tricks to take to the battlefield. If big spells are what you want to lay the smack down with, then stick with the class and work toward earning them. Your Friend, Herp Derp. *Edit
  10. Or else? From your perspective, I can tell you that things won't become more entertaining as you get higher level; the playstyle doesn't change. If you don't like playing a caster, reroll.
  11. You have 1 of 2 choices. 1) You'll still be able to DPS as full seer. It's still fun to go attack mode; just don't expect to top the DPS charts between weak pew pews and healing a lot. If you're going to heal at all, it would be my advice to do it right and go full seer tree. It's for the best of the group. Probably not the answer you're looking for, but in my extensive experience, that truly is the best advice (if you're groups/guild requires you to heal at all). 2) Absolutely REFUSE to heal full time and go full DPS. Your part time heals will be weak, but hey - you warned 'em. EDIT: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600GGrRbd0dGzZf00MZ0M.1 There's a good full seer tree, pretty much the standard around here. With this spec, you have 1 point left over to spend on either Vigilance (-1% health loss with Noble Sacrifice) or Jedi Resistance (1% dmg reduction). As for a DPS or Hybrid spec, someone else will have to chime in...
  12. Subbed to keep in the loop. 'Will post something useful, should I come across anything useful...
  13. I stopped reading the whole thread at this point. I had the exact same problem as you when I hit high 30s. Everything prior to that was a cakewalk. But as soon as I got to Quesh, I realized something was wrong, and it wasn't my playstyle or my companions. I realized I was gearing myself all wrong: WP > Crit > Surge > everything else What you need is higher potency heals to reduce the amount of button-mashing required. More buttons mashed = higher likelihood of running OOF & overheals. I'm sure there's great advice from all the previous posts, but if there's anything you should take from anyone here, move Power up your stat priority list. It should solve most of your problems. With that being said, however, don't neglect crit. It's still good to have at least 20%. More is good, obviously, but don't focus on it. I'm 49 now, and haven't had any trouble since.
  14. 'Just thought of something else. Anyone out there actually doing Hard Modes? Do you ever run OOF? The only time I use NS is in questing when I get surprise adds I'm not ready for, or during endurance fights. If running OOF is a non-issue in raids, then I'd agree that 2/2 (or anything) in Valiance would be a waste. (Currently Lv. 49)
  15. With Resplendence, you get one freebie. Noble Sacrifice stacks up to four times to get a good amount of Force back. The one-time Resplendence is great, as it doesn't count toward the four stacks. A 2% reduction of health loss is very much noticeable when using Noble Sacrifice four times in a row. A very valid point. The first time I read the description, I read it as, in addition to lowering the force cost of Restoration. This is part of the reason for my original post - clarification. I suppose this whole issue could be laid to rest if one of us could log in now to check. (Sorry, stuck at work )
  16. I think you misunderstand what I'm saying. As it is, the ability before taking the talent removes DoTs. Taking the talent removes physical hinderances, which I find inferior. Why are people taking it, rather than putting two points into something more useful, like Valiance?
  17. Pretty much this for me as well. There's something I don't like about Iresso. I feel like he doesn't hold aggro on everything (as in all the mobs in the pack) like Qyzen does. Maybe I just haven't given him a fair shake, idk... As for Qyzen's lag, waiting one second for him to 'set up', doesn't bother me in the slightest. EDIT: To stay on topic, I've used Tharan once. It was in a group setting where we had a weak tank. I used Tharan as a backup healer, and that worked well. I think the dps option for him is also rather weak. I think buffs/debuffs would've been a better option...
  18. The PvE spec above is pretty much the only one I've seen around here. My question is, why choose Mend Wounds? Removing physical effects (roots, snares, slow) seem like a more of a benefit in PvP, whereas removing DoTs would be more useful in a raid setting. Am I misunderstanding the mechanics of this particular talent? If it's a dump talent to get to the next tier, there's a better way to go about doing it. Taking 2/2 Valiance has been a life saver in emergency situations, at least for me. We already have a 'free movement' ability which I rarely use anyway... Again, if I'm misunderstanding the descriptions or mechanics of the talents in question, I'm open to criticism and suggestion. Here's what I've got now: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600GGrRrb0dGzZf00MZ0M.1
