  1. 1 - because they have friends on those servers that they wish to play with and/or 2 - because they want to avoid being on a server with a low population I'm not an MMO launch expert by any stretch of the imagination but I cannot help but feel this could have been handled better.
  2. Well now that's the problem isn't it... we didn't CHOOSE, we were ALLOCATED. how hard would it have been to apply some simple calculations based on server capacity ie - each server can hold 10000 people, lets allocate 8000 people thus leaving room for new friends at launch. I kept my mouth shut during pre-launch because the fat lady hadn't sung however we are now in the pay zone (yes i know 30 days free but you paid for that free time when you paid for the game) this doesn't strike me as rocket science. I understand the desire of the company to keep efficiency high. high efficiency is probably great for the company...not so great for the customer...
  3. Wasn't a dig at you mate, and I don't blame you for starting a new thread I was just pointing out that this thread isn't alone! Mind you, with these extended queue times we could spend all day making new qeueuing threads while we wait....
  4. Several threads regarding this already. I just can't comprehend why it took more than- "So each server can hold 10000 players at any one time. Let's allocate not more than 8000 players to each server thus allowing room for friends at launch" Am I missing something?
  5. Okay, we'll a lot of people told off other people who moaned about queues citing "this is pre-launch" Well now it's launch Now I'm paying and now I'm qeueuing. This would be significantly easier to understand if not for the fact that people were allocated to servers by the Bioware team. I fail to understand why you couldn't have simply looked at your server capacity and not allocated more people than they could handle at any one time. Being more efficient at the cost of my time probably makes lots of sense to the company....not so good for the customer....
  6. Yeah I found the CE gifts very disappointing. I certainly wasn't expecting anything that would confer a number bonus but off the top of the my head there are certain "no brainers" that i think would be reasonable to expect... Training Droid - allows you remote access to a trainer perhaps? Stap Speeder - can be retrofitted (at the same cost as any player buying a 110% speed mount) to go at 110% like the fastest mounts so that it doesn't become obsolete. Colour crystal - seriously ? black and yellow? i honestly thought i would have a choice of colours, no stat plus just a choice of colour would have been great. the rest of the items were not particularly unexpected but i have to say that i was also surprised that the items all took normal inventory spots because they are now sitting in my bank... by taking up inventory slots they actually become a hindrance. not too impressed with this. The game is outstanding but the CE items are far from it and I feel a bit ripped off if I'm honest as my expectations have not really been approached, let alone met.
  7. yeah they told me they promised the supplier that they wouldnt let people have them before the 15th. I informed them of the date being brought forward and they gave the classic... "Computer says no" I'm a bit surprised that EA couldnt even have emailed the various retail companies about the change of date... bit of a let down on that score really.
  8. Happy Xmas ....but not because of sweet baby Jeebus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T8Y1-VLjGQ Purple lightsabers ROCK! especially for that Mace "party's over" Windu goodness! Ramen!
  9. am i in a minority for thinking that black with a yellow border is a **** colour for a lightsaber?
