  1. Probably, but that's not really what I'm getting at. Given that we were notified at the last minute it gave the impression that they were very close to release on it but it just lacked that final finishing touch. the (is it two weeks?) time since 1.2 launched suggests a lot more needed doing and whilst I assure you I'm not conspiracy theory'ing here, it does beg the question... perhaps they are adding more, I don't know but I'm curious to know if anyone else has heard anything.
  2. What I'm a little confused about is that I got the impression from the last minute post they made before 1.2 that they were very close to releasing the PVP ranked system but wanted to add some final polish. The length of time since the release of 1.2 suggests that it wasn't a lack of polish but rather incomplete. Has anyone else heard anything that suggests otherwise?
  3. Yeah I totally sympathise with the OP, partly because I'm European and if anyone gets really screwed by downtime, it's us! I don't think that many of the responders are being entirely fair. It is of course true that WOW had weekly downtime as you rightly point out, however, that weekly downtime normally lasted an hour and was a different times depending on what part of the world you were in. This is in no way similar to what happens here on SWTOR, they have made a financial choice to choose a single world downtime rather than tailor it to a broader spectrum of playtimes. They are a business and they have to be profitable however the facts remain and the similarities between WOW server downtime and SWTOR server downtime are not really a comparison between apples and apples.
  4. I've found myslf unfortunately forced to wear a smuggler jacket on my sentinel....not very Jedi but certainly a bit "Fonze" (pre-the shark jumping incident).
  5. It's worthwhile having full bonuses on all your companions because it enables you to have the full 5 out working while you keep your 6th with you for dailies....well thats what i do anyway
  6. same problem, says login service currently unavailable and tells you to come here for an update on the status of this service. when you get here, all you find is this My understanding is that we would be able to begin the rather large download as opposed to actually be able to play at this stage and i suspect that is what the OP was after as well.
  7. Look, I appreciate you are trying to help but to be frank, you take a demonstrably elitist view and I don't think im prepared to accept that an elitist approach (i.e. only the most skilled players can be in my op team) is the only way of completing Soa. If an elitist approach is the only way then I think I'd prefer to play something else. Don't get me wrong were all prepared to put the effort in to achieve the goal but not at the expense of a pretty reasonable principle.
  8. my lot are having the same trouble. most people will tell you its practice, practice, practice. I'm sure they are right however, unless you are running exclusive set groups who train and play together utterly exclusively then i dont see how this is dooable. There is no room in this fight for weak links at all which means that its a fight reserved purely for the elite. The guild I am in has around 80 active members and we normally have around 20 people on of an evening and that means rotating people in and out of raids (we use a "pick system") consequently this fight eludes us. it could be that me and my guild mates (some of them very experienced raiders from other games) are just a bit rubbish but we have had little trouble so far doing KP on HM with a clean sheet, we've completed 16man EV and done a few bosses in EV on Nightmare mode so I dont know...
  9. Which, given the fact that Presence directly affects the effectiveness of all companions is not a bad little buff at all...depending of course on the bonus.
  10. Because it is one of a number of methods (certainly the most expedient) by which the developers can be informed that a bug fix has not actually fixed a problem.
  11. we did EV on hard mode last night and this bugged out 6 times for us before we called it...
  12. ironically the best ingame voice chat ive ever used was SWG's it allowed you to chat in pug groups as well as in guild and allowed you to easily control the volume on each person in the room to your taste individually. very simple. Ventrilo does tons of stuff but i never use it and when i do try to use it to modify the volume of another person its actually really fiddly. WOW's ingame voice chat was just too quiet... in any event... /support
  13. Firstly - WOOOHOOO Purple "Party's over" action here i come! Secondly - does anyone else think this is to get more cash out of the economy? hence the temporary nature of it.
  14. unfortunately my friend Magenta is a sort of pinky red whereas purple is more blue than read i would say infact - Magenta Purple
  15. With respect, what are the forums for if not to communicate with developers and other players? We are invited to ask questions all the time, we are given these forums within which to ask them. The end result of me or anyone else simply "Feeling better" is of value to some of us.
  16. No different to a sea of Blue, Green or Red lightsabers but at least we can have some hot Mace "Parties Over" Windu action! it would be like any other cosmetic choice element of the game and I don't see how that could be harmful.
  17. Mate, don't feed them, they just come back for more. You know what they are. Now, about those purple lightsabers...
  18. you are not alone. I too want my Mace Windu "Parties Over" lightsaber action.
  19. Hideous trolls aside, I'm a massive fan of purple lightsabers and was quite disappointed that they are unavailable to us on the Republic side. Equally I was disappointed to find that my class Columi gear makes me look like a traffic cone. C'mon devs, give us purple lighsabers, if its not a big deal then its not a big deal surely?
  20. I love the idea however this might be better placed in the suggestions forum.
  21. Any news on these issues? I managed to work around the alderaan one but since they fixed the "jumping to holodancer" bug there is no solo workaround anymore for the corelia one... BW are really sorry though and they apologise for the inconvenience...not quite sorry enough to hand me the flipping datacron however...
  22. Hi guys, quick question for you. Im planning on running a 16 man op next week but there are some concerns about whether or not we can do it and perhaps taking a view after the first boss and maybe deciding to split into two 8 mans. is there a lockout problem that may prevent this? so to clarify we attempt a 16 man which fails early on, could we then split and do two 8 man versions? thanks in advance.
  23. yes, name and server please. everyone is entitled to the opportunity to avoid idiots like that.
