  1. 7-8. Weapons and off-hands [Maurader/Sentinel, Merc/Trooper].
  2. Being a healer means, uhh, that you heal damage. You cannot out-heal a good spike by yourself, but you can, and should, be able to heal for a steady amount for a lengthy period of time. You say a healer is bad if they can't do a 2v1? I say a DPS is bad if they can't kill a healer 1v1, and especially more than that. Some of the longest fights I've ever had in various MMOs have been while I was a healer or I was fighting one. That's how its always been and that's how it really should be. Focus on someone that isn't a healer so they have to heal the other person. Use your interrupts, knockbacks and stuns. A Sorc/Sage has, iirc, one instant-cast heal, which is a measly HoT. Every class has a knockback of some kind, at least one stun, and an interrupt. Use them to your advantage and stop trying to nerf other classes because you find it difficult to kill a class meant to be your counter.
  3. I believe the skills say "Only works on weak and strong enemies." Weak = no emblem. Strong = silver emblem. Elite = gold emblem. Champion = Gold and silver emblem. Other players are considered "Champions."
  4. Sorc/Sage is a very diverse class and is good at many things. That said, they are not the best at anything. Healing? Nearly everything is channeled and Light armor. Mercs/Trooper [i think?] have heavy armor, ability to be immune to interrupts, and so on. Burst? lol what burst. I've been able to crit for 3.4k popping adrenals and trinkets quickly followed by 3-4 attacks not even breaking 1k. Sustained DPS? Yeah, it's decent. Throw some dots, death field, force lightning. Still fairly low compared to other classes. Tanking? lul'd. As a sorc, I can throw up some decent damage and healing. Why? Because you cannot spike someone down, giving them the ability to heal, run, cloak, and so on. Yay for doing 300k DPS and getting 50+ kills but not actually really doing anything productive. It's pretty much a statpadding class. However, throw 4-5 sorcs on one team and they will either do very well or they will get **** on.
  5. Welcome to a PvP server. Reroll elsewhere.
  6. Warcry 2, post-9 SWG. Spam that skill and render the player literally useless for minutes. They couldn't even chat, move, send/recieve tells/emails, and so on. Necromancers spec'd for Minion Master in Guild Wars, pre-nerf. Unlimited amount of minions. You could literally have hundreds of them following you. Was great There were no Jedi Masters during the Hologrind. With the way SOE created Jedi, you could only get 4444 Guardian and could not get the "Master" slot because it required Apprentice Experience and you could not attain that exp as a Jedi. And, you're somewhat right on the jedi thing. 3-4 backed up with Combat Medics could take huge groups. Why? They were DPS tanks. They also had permadeath to deal with, so you rarely saw this happen.
  7. Looks like the second word he typed disproves you.
  8. 3.3k AoE crits on a lvl 39 sorc. i win
  9. Yes. Also, lower the CC Break timer ffs. 2 minutes is wayyy too much when every class has 400 stuns.
  10. And make queue times longer than they are? lolno
  11. Or, no cap on instances and fix/upgrade servers to allow mass pvp. Seriously, I feel like I'm playing a F2P game with this ****. Ilum! 1.0- The land of mass Lag vs. Players. Ilum! 1.1 - The land of 'Oh****, our servers/engine/coding can't handle more than 20v20 without everyone getting lag! Let's limit the amount of players and hope that 50v50 works better!" Coming Soon! Ilum! 1.1.1 - The land of "Uhh. We're making Ilum a PvE only planet, even on PvP servers, because we refuse to upgrade server, the engine, or anything else to allow for actual PvP beyond 8v8, like Warzones." SWG was able to, at the very least, let people with beastly machines play with 60 FPS while in mass PvP. Granted, the servers would lag out and eventually crash to some degree but this game? Even if you have a beastly computer you'll be lucky to hit 10 FPS in any open-world PvP on a massive scale.
  12. [At least] 7 points in lightning to get +20% moar absorb. Also, a box in healing reduces CD on it. + Epic heals. + Pull ability. + Four force lightnings at 400 damage/each. = Winning.
  13. Fame was gained by participating in Hero's Ascent, not just winning. The only issue I see with implementing this sort of PvP system is the "Fame grind groups" and, after lets say a year, it would be nearly impossible to join a group without having "XX" amount of fame/whatever, like it is/was in guild wars. Also, HA had a strange but awesome system. Once you got to the top it was 3 [or 4] teams going against each other, one of those teams being the one that won the previous match. Whoever won got to open the end-game PvP chest and do the game again but against the next 2 [or 3] teams. btw /signed.
  14. Atiho, Wub' and Kino'. Ohai people.
  15. At level 32 on my Sorc I get, on average, 80k healing and 150k damage a game. That's with 3 points in my healing tree. Granted if I wasn't healing I'd break 250k+ damage in a game easily.
  16. I just did it, and it worked. The reason why you would want to take either side is you take the speeder bike directly onto the node, making it much more difficult to capture. Yeah, you MAY die, and that part of the group might get wiped but, guess what, chances are the entire [or damn near] enemy team was taking you out on the side and left middle open. Take Mid, then, and when you die, take the side again. We literally did this about 5 minutes ago. Once I died on the right side I walked up to mid and took it right out from under them. T'was hilarious.
  17. And many games had no rewards to open world PvP, and survived. Why do people need incentives to go out and fight against other players on a mass scale? It's fun and takes a lot of coordination to win [when you're outnumbered]. I don't need any motivation to do open world pvp, nor do I see a need for it. You want free stuff? Do warzones.
  18. Noticing this more and more. Why be a Juggernaut tank in PvP when you can do that better as a Powertech with it's damaging capabilities? Why be a Sith Assassin and deal an occasional big-spike and stealth away when you can be a Merc or a Sorc and deal three times the overall damage and heal? Honestly, I'm leveling a Sorc now because of the ability to tank a large amount, **** of a bad situation quickly, heal, and deal decent damage. Yeah, I can't really burst a target but I can keep constant pressure on a target forcing the enemy to run, heal, or die and leaving my team to clean up the mess. Why would anyone play any other class tbh? :/ That got off the original topic and I apologize. I have to agree, though, dealing damage in this game is typically "SPAM 1, SPAM 1, SPAM 1 NOTICE BUFF, HIT 2, SPAM 1, SPAM 1," with the occasional 3 and 4, for most classes. /Dumbed down combat systems [generally] for a dumbed down community.
  19. Why is it that everyone seems so baffled by actually doing world PvP? I mean, yeah, there's always a group of people that kill-trade and farm alts, but seriously? /lostfaith
  20. Non-PvP based game with no real long-term goals to be gained from PvP. Anyone else grossly reminded of Global Agenda by this game? Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but I can only see myself playing for the next month, tops. :/
  21. SWG, Pre-CU. Fantastic open-world PvP. Why? Because it was a sandbox. This is not, and never will be, a sandbox. The only way "Open World" pvp will work in this game is if both sides get a "safe zone" to spawn to that the other side cannot enter in any way. Make it so that once you leave the "safe zone" you can't return while in combat or within exiting combat for say, 60 seconds? SWG had something similar to this idea with player housing and TEFs. It didn't work fantastically, but that can be changed. Plus, this game doesn't have the same mechanics as this game, and doesn't have a million houses you can fly into.
