  1. I have a link I'd like to share. However the nature of it is very critical of the release of SWTOR. There are some key features mentioned as to why this game will never be successful or sandbox-full. - http://www.videogamessuck.com/review466.html The writing is kind of on the wall. I really like SWTOR. But what we got is all we're going to get. It's a starwars theme park. The game engine is crippled. Graphics are already considered dated.
  2. That's not really a modern idea. People with more money don't think about small sums as much. Makes sense. But it also attracts people who perceive the weakness there. I'm personally a broke *** guy who knows exactly which pennies are going where.
  3. Where would they even implement sand box elements? There's not 1 persistent world. There's multitudes of instances. That kind of kills any hope for a sand box. I think the best we can hope for is creative instanced missions or side games. This game isn't designed like alot of other mmo's. It's designed like the original KOTOR and KOTOR 2. You load the map, run around, get to next area, load the map.
  4. The only sandbox element we really need is the ability to form an ops group.... get into our own respective ships and as a fleet attack the pub fleet. Then once we blow down all of their ships we board their fleet, kill everyone inside and reset it so they can't use their fleet for like a week. And they have to use their capital planet to group up or something.
  5. Bad players should not play as tanks. I vote, keep tanks as they are. Bad players will roll as dps and be hated upon by all. This I have decreed.
  6. If we can marry whomever I want... Then I'm marrying my ship droid.
  7. Oh I'm blaming all marauders. You're all bad people. And further more, the only reason people roll marauders is they nerfed my precious tracer missles so no one wants to be a mercenary anymore.
  8. That's what I'm saying exactly. You level and play at your leisure. If your leisure happens to be a bit more competititive (messed that word up) than you'll probably rush to 55. I know I will. I've got alot of toons to rush, I'll get all of the storyline. Believe me.
  9. There's also an issue of is it worth purchasing? Now it's not that much. But with video games, if an expansion sucks you just don't buy it and play the original. With mmo's, eventually they're make this expansion free when the next one comes out. So, I along with probably many others are waiting for customer reviews to come out.
  10. I'm looking for an idea of what gear I should strive to get. I'm not sure of what relics I should get. Right now I have 2 battlemaster +100 shield relics. I just turned 50 last week and just kind of want to gear up in the right direction.
  11. No.... the smaller cast time on tracer + 20% armor buff + 20% enemy armor debuff = op. When I can tank operations as a mercenary... that's OP. BUT IT AWESOME.
  12. Are you serious? You think you're going to get epic class stories with an expansion that costs, what, 20 dollars? Do you remember what the development cost of the game was????
  13. The heck? Havn't you ever been in the race to max level when a new expansion comes out? It's cool for like 2-3 days in your destination cities to see that maybe you and only a handful of others are at max level. You can enjoy the content later at your leisure. But the race is on.
  14. So guild wars 2 was not all it was chalked up to be? I remember alot of people doomsaying on the forums "GW2 releases in a month goodbye swtor!!!" ... I'm guessing they're back here now then? Or possibly playing with pandas. You never know. I just find it funny that GW2 was a let down to the fanbase in the same manner that swtor was a let down to the fanbase.
  15. I refuse to buy the expansion and I'm going to hit level 55 the hardway... ************ and whining until I get my way. It's a great plan.
  16. I understand tanking very well. I just had taken a break for awhile and was playing as dps or heals. All MMO's are essentially the same set up. I understand it. It's just that marauders.... it's like they can't help themselves. I vary between the extremes of hating them and feeling bad for them because they just don't know any better.
  17. You bumped a thread made a year ago while Arsenal mercs were overpowered made by a player who obviously really did not comprehend what the engine under the hood did. Things have since changed and merc dps in all aspects is subpar.
  18. Pyro spec needs to be scrapped and something new put in to differentiate between pt's and mercs. i personally would like an alternative to arsenal. I hate just standing there and feeling like I'm not doing anything. (Takes forever for them missles to launch.) Pyro has way too much heat to be used effectively in long term battles. Also. Something insidious happened to this game last year. The community favorite went from mercenaries to marauders. Yes, we were op. But the class was fun and controllable. Now every noob that wants to be op rolls a marauder and force leap pulls everything in sight while yelling at the healer that he's not doing his job or trying to tell the tank how to do his. When's the last time we were yelled at for anything? I miss those days.
  19. I don't know how other people feel about this class. I don't like grouping with them. It seems to me that all marauders act in the same fashion. I don't know if they're in a club and have club meetings or its random chance... but each one I run with seems to think its the tank. I have 2 healers (bh, sorc) and a tank (pt). On my healers, I really only have problems with marauders in certain ops where there's alot of aoe damage near the boss. Makes sense. Melee classes for some reason never pay attention to what's going on around them and get tunnel vision. I never really got aggravated with them though. Just this week though, I got my pt to 50 and transferred a bunch of gear using the legacy bound shells. I noticed instantly what other tanks in my guild were talking about. Marauders force leap ahead of the tank and take aggro of whatever they're attacking. I've got 1 aoe taunt and if the mobs are split apart he's probably going to die. The worst part is that mara's are so squishy I kind of feel like I can't save them when they go in head first and pretty much try to do my job for me. I don't understand why developers would give mara's force leap knowing that it's probably going to be the death of the mara using it. I'm very frustrated by other players using maras. I was wondering if other people dislike grouping with mara's as much as I do. Or do I a fringe opinion? Please share your thoughts.
  20. ... But fleet is irrelevant if you made server wide chat chanels... Like all level 50 chat. There is a problem still with this game and its multiple loading screens. I don't necessarily want to see 250 rendered other toons on fleet and then lag a buttload as I sit around and do nothing. Why not decentralize, make server wide chat channels and allow some freedom to operate within the game. Instead of just another room on fleet, why not make it its own "planet" on the map? If not planet, just another link on the map in your ship. Along with a guild ship.. perhaps add some actual functionality to a guild? Right now I saw you get a 5% xp boost for being in a guild. That's it. I'm not making any new toons. Okay now I have no need for that. Guild bank? Don't use it. Extra chat channel? Meh. The guild I'm in has 3 people in it currently. I pug everything. There doesn't seem to be a strong reason to actually join a guild other than a friends list that displays messages in green text. My friends list is longer than the member roster in the guild. I do add everybody I run anything with tho basically. Anywho... Guilds overall need to be bolstered. This game is really limited by its design. I wouldn't mind seeing a guild hall on Dromund Kaas, the capital city of the capital planet. Why can't you just have a teleporter there to every instance in the game??? Think about it. Dromund Kaas has all the functionality of fleet and an unlimited supply of new players to recruit. All its missing are a few vendors and portals to ops and fp's.
  21. The way a buddy of mine was figuring it earlier... swtor can't keep up the bandwidth with so many people logged in so its cutting non essential functions like communication. You know, you never really need to communicate with other people in a mmorpg.
  22. A guild ship should consist of the following... every time of vendor there is. A gtn. A mail box. And a glowing blue door that when you click on it, it will transport you to any planet in the game. Also there should be a banner somewhere in there. And a coffee machine.
  23. You should support your local community. Support your family. Support little league baseball. Buy girl scout cookies to support them. Support your troops by buying a little flag. But supporting a product????? That's a one sided relationship if I've ever heard of one. Go seek help.
  24. So I'm thinking chat problems are related to server populations during these 2xp max server events. So if game can't support chat, I don't think VOIP is ever coming. To which, I am very happy. Because of this problem though, can't run any ops because you can't give out the vent info. This is kinda turning back to when the game first came out with a group finder and I only played with my guild because we were all on the same vent and were very close knit.
