  1. Fun fact. According to my calculations, the visible Universe is approximately 432,059,451,465,801,600,000,000,000 meters across. Isn't that impressive.
  2. Well, I got into Wow about 4 years ago. Played a little Runescape before that, but wasn't a huge MMO person. I used to be a console gamer. Got any consoles? Go find a good game. : ) : ( I still haven't played ME II or III
  3. Anyway chaps. If any of you are like me, you'll be smart and use the Downtime to take care of RL things that you need to take care of. For instance, I am doing my full laboratory report, and going to write my 12 page research paper, so that when the servers come back up I can play all weekend. ...College is nice : P
  4. God I hope you're trolling. XD. Edit: Ah it's a gaming section. I thought it made big news... that I would have found rather disgusting.
  5. So, I'm just glad that they are giving us a day of game time to make up for this. If they didn't give me this time, I'd kinda be PO'ed. However, since they DID--something that NEVER happened to me playing WoW (it is very nice) I actually think it's kinda funny. I'm sure they have the 1.2 Maps and things stored elsewhere, but it looks like it will be a bit of work for them replacing all of the things currently in Guild Banks, etc. Well, Have fun Bioware. Hope you get things fixed. (This reminds me of working on my Skyrim Mod, when I deleted 1 object in an interior cell, and made 1/4 of Skyrim Disappear.... that was fun to fix.) Feel for the Devs. Hoping they can get it fixed soon. Edit: Another note. I saw a post talking about the poster being a programmer, and something about the UI being easy. Ok... so what? I program and develop things too. Also, to the post about where all the money goes... the answer is to THE PUBLISHER. EA. Publishers are a blight on industry as far as I'm concerned. "Publishers" are the primary reason for price increases on Books, Music, and Games. *Not Quite Sure if it applies to movies either. The majority of our money goes to EA, whom gives a small portion back to B/W and another portion to Lucas Arts. I'm no economist, but this is the basis of how publishing works. Bioware makes the game. EA advertises for the game, distributes the game, and deals with a lot of other garbage. In return, they get the most money, and get to set the deadlines (because typically they provide the capital that is used to create the game.)
  6. Not worth the production time IMO. I'd like to see more great content. However, it might be a point of pride to B/W if they did it right. WoW had in game voice chat... but the system is so broken no one ever uses it. Maybe if they made a decently functioning voice chat they could brag about it. XD
  7. I personally had no problem with the droids. But they are obviously listening to SOMETHING at least.
  8. Also Agree. Mini-games are VERY smart from a development perspective. Whereas a quest line may take months, and then get played through in a matter of days. A good mini-game with rewards can keep players playing for longer periods of time. Because A)They can be fun and B) You can have cool an Vanity items that require a decent bit of play time in a specific minigame. It doesn't have to be powerful gear. Coolness will suffice in an MMO. Everyone wants to be different and have different things.
  9. I came on the forums to say that I believe Bioware is CURRENTLY heading in the right direction... and I find a ton of people QQing about STUPID things... like being excluded from Legacy because they havn't played enough. Or griping about a guild bank tax... I don't know about anyone else, but a guild tax feature isn't even a big deal. I was a WoW GM for 3 years, and my guild got along fine without it. Hell, there wasn't even anything SIMILIAR in WoW until Cata. So yea... I like this game. I think Bioware listens to the playerbase. Here is why: From the patch notes:
  10. Glad to get a good response. But yea.. Mini-games are pretty much a MUST to keep this game going long term. People have to have something to do when they aren't doing OPs, have leveled all the characters that they care to, and are tired of PvP. Just hoping you guys keep this in mind with your design strategy. Keep up the good work though : P EDIT: Also, just so everyone knows... when it's 2:00 AM on April 1st, you forget that it is April fools day. XD I saw the announcement very shortly after it was posted. Besides, I don't much pay attention to Ap. Fools day, soo... Biowar got me. XD
  11. No. I think they thought It wasn't a joke. And that they wasted development time on a mini-game. They probably just thought it wasn't a joke.
  12. Yea.. I'm just hoping that if this is a joke, which it likely is, that they are just joking about this, but not about including other mini-game-esque things to do in game. The thing is here... if people pay $15 a month for a game, they expect to be able to kill a LOT of time. Namely almost all of their free time. We don't wanna waste it sitting at fleet because we are locked to OPS, and bored of PvP.
  13. Yep... I'm hoping this comes out good : P.
  14. Ok. Joking Aside. Who thinks that a mini-game of sorts IS something that this game needs? Am I the only one? I think that space combat was a good idea, just poorly implemented. I really hope they change it like they have said they are going to.
  15. What I find weird about this though is that the NEWS of this is ALSO in the launcher... not just on the website. Not sure which team controls the launcher news. Probably the website team.
  16. Oh ****... NO... Please don't tell me this is a joke T_T EDIT: Damn. Now I #1 I feel stupid and #2 I'm sad about no mini-game : ( Edit: Also, saw it last night before april fools? Maybe they're just trolling. Dangit Now I want a real answer. I have to know. Normally when you do an april fools joke you tell people afterwards...waiting for an official post, although it probably won't come till tomorrow. EDIT: Also... would be funny if they implemented this, when more than half the forum thinks it's a joke. THAT would be a real joke.
  17. So, I'm taking a minute break from my writing, and I was just gonna post here to let B/W know that I love the idea of the droid mini-game. I'm not sure if it will be any good. But I will say this... Keep thinking. Adding mini-game like content, with small Non-serious/just fun rewards. Is what is going to keep me playing this game after I get characters to 50. Like I said. Not sure if the game will be good. But the IDEA of mini-games is a good one. Keep on this development path. Also. If someone from B/W does read this... I'm still hoping of Pazaak. Just HOPING that you guys are working on a cool system for it, and will put it in eventually. Anyway. Like the idea. Keep up the work : ). P.S. Also, anybody else get excited about the minigame? P.S.P.S. Does anybody besides me realize just how much content (development time wise) is actually in this patch? A Ton. Customizable UI, Armor Customization Improvements, New Mini-game, New Flashpoint, New Gear, Legacy System...there may be more I'm not thinking of. EDIT: Another Thing to BW. Started my sub again last night. In the month or so that I wasn't playing, those optimization patches helped a LOT. Game now runs really well on my laptop, and I can actually play PvP! Thanks.
  18. All I'm going to say is this: If Bioware WANTED to use Unreal for this game (which I agree is a very nice engine--currently working in it myself) they would have use Unreal from the beginning. All of the ME games were made in Unreal, obviously BW has staff that know Unreal engine. They chose to use Hero Engine for a very specific reason. I don't know why, but changing the entire engine on an already released game is an insane undertaking. If they did do this... I'm expecting a complete game revamp. But, this won't happen, sorry. Bioware had their reasons for using Hero-Engine. I would guess it has something to do with the realtime multi-user workspace that heroengine provides.
  19. I agree with mixed Huttball, but I believe this: Huttball should be a side game. Not a Warzone. Just make it a side form of PvP so that people who want to play it can, and the people who feel like it isn't real PvP don't have to play it. Then the teams can be truly randomized. Hell, maybe even give us Hutt Points or something for some specific special non-combat goodies.
  20. I want Pazzak or something else to do at end-game, or when I don't feel like questing. Space battles go in this direction, but still. I want Pazzak. Multi-player Pazzak. It would also give players some other nifty things to collect.
  21. I want Pazzak. Just saying. Imma want something to do other than OPS and PvP. Not having anything to do at end-game besides Raids and PvP Killed WoW for me. I think BW will deliver some of this content in the form of their revamp to the space-combat system, which will be cool. My question is though. Why have an empty casino on Nar Shaddaa... They already have the models for tables and game machines in game, why not add playable games? Just saying. I want Pazzak.
  22. Alright guys. Been posting and reading this forum for like an hour now. I only have til the 25th to play, but I go back to school next week and will be too busy to play. I'm leaving this last post to officially state that I am running on a lower end machine and running 15-20 FPS with no one around on Balmorra. I'll post my system specs when I'm finished writing. The only thing questionable about my specs is the processor, which, despite being AMD is still 2.20 GHz. I meet all of the other system specs. I am a little disappointed that I cannot do flashpoints or PvP on my laptop (The Specs that I will be giving). Thus rendering my machine currently useless for endgame-Although I may pay $15 a month to play Pazaak against other players*Wink Wink Hint Hint* I honesty believe that there is a memory issue with this game. I refrain from saying "problem" instead of "issue" because the game is still playable when solo questing (lvl 1-50). However, I hope that Bioware has plans to edit the engine and the game to optimize FPS. ALSO, one thing I must point out, is that I HAVE edited the Client_settings.ini file and turned off Shadows, MeshLOD, Texture Quality, and just about everything else. I am also using game booster and have all unnecessary services and processes disabled. Without these two fixes my FPS renders TOR Unplayable. This needs to be fixed. The reason for this fix is because someone running Min specs, without any knowledge of how to edit the ini cannot trim the game down enough to even make the leveling game playable let alone end-game. I will hopefully be back over the summer. However, this depends entirely on what Bioware does over the next 6 months in regards to this issue, as well as some gameplay enhancements (as far as more NON-OPs/Warzone content). I hope I'll see you guys then. Please BioWare encourage me, I'll be watching the game's status in the coming months. I go now to finish my leveling on my laggy cpu. Later guys n' gals. Laptop System Specs: STOCK Toshiba Satellite L505D Motherboard: Unknown Processor: AMD Turion II Dual Core M500 2.20GHz RAM: 4.00GB (3.75 Usable) Display (Integrated): AMD 880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit *PS: I know this may be irrelevant, but the machine runs WoW and several other MMOS (Including DCUniv Online and Dungeons and Dragons Online) fine.
  23. Also a post just to make sure everyone is aware. BioWare did not make this engine. Granted they can now edit it. They did not MAKE this engine themselves. Therefore these starting problems--if they are engine related--will not be Bioware's fault. What will be their fault though, is if they neglect to re-write parts of the engine to fix it.
  24. We could also break this down into what is probably the case: 1. The normal player FPS Problem 2. A SW:TOR FPS problem that plagues many machines, for no currently known reason. It's probably a combination of both then.
