  1. What vendor? The vendor that sold +41 crystals in 1.1.5 has been removed. The patterns for those crystals should be distributed throughout the game world either as loot drops or possibly daily quest vendor for commendations. (i have not been able to log in yet to look for them, but I'm fairly certain they are NOT going to be found on the trainer.) Check out the new dailies and daily vendor on Corelia; you may find what you're looking for there.
  2. It would stand to reason that these are stackable - I also havent been able to log in yet to test. 1 hour off an 18 hour cooldown really isnt that significant, but being able to continue bringing it down does make sense - although I tend to just use the 1 hour cooldown fleet passes from the security vendor for 1000 creds each.
  3. This is exactly what I was getting at. I dont know the answer, but am speculating that items obtained prior to 1.2 going live may not be retrofit to be researchable. Another possibility (and something I've heard tossed around) is that mods removed from pre-1.2 gear would not necessarily be effected, but leaving items intact in their original form *might* be effected properly (what I mean is mods that were removed prior to 1.2 might not be effected, while mods removed AFTER 1.2 might be effected properly).
  4. Are you trying to reverse engineer items obtained prior to this morning? The stuff you had laying around from before 1.2 going live may not have been retroactively effected by this change. Also, if it does not specifically say 'May be researched' it's my understanding that the item has no schematic available. So one of three things may be happening: 1) you're trying to research an item that doesnt have a schematic; 2) the item was not retroactively updated and therefore #1 still applies; 3) you simply didnt hit the x% chance to learn what *could* be learned - it was never meant to be a 100% garauntee to learn a schematic.
  5. I also play a sorcerer healer, and have since launch. You're right, the healing tree does not have a passive force regen ability, but we do get consumption, as do all sorcerers, but as a healer, it's actually a little more useful. Tomorrow alot changes with our talents, but we still get a tad more force out of it, for a less health cost (prior to 1.2 which hits tomorrow, the Force Bending actually removed ALL health cost essentially making it free to cast for near-infinite force pool when done right). The change to force bending means we will still have to pay some health to use it, but we do not get penalized with a reduced regen rate when using it with Force Bending. Part of your issues could certainly be due to inexperience and unfamiliarity with the ins and outs of how the different talents in the healing tree work together. Check out Force Bending talent in particular - it works off resurgence to augment all your other heals. Remember, alot changes tomorrow, especially with healing spec'd sorcerers, so check out your talents, and then review the sorcerer changes on the 1.2 patch notes. Hope this helped! As far as solo'ing the heroic dailies on Belsavis, that changes tomorrow too. For Lights Out, you will have to actually kill the final guy guarding the last node, and he cannot be solo'd - as a healers, we are the only ones who actually can solo the other heroic daily there by spam healing our companion and letting him or her do all the dmg (took me over 15 minutes though, so it's not really efficient!) Even with the way it is pre-1.2, it takes expoiting the system to do this as a non-stealth class, hence the change.
  6. Even if it says 0/1 for materials in the crafting window, you can still queue up the craft if you do in fact have the item in your inventory or cargo hold. It's just like the biometric alloys that weren't updating in the crafting window - you have it, it just doesnt look like it in the window. Try queue'ing up your item craft - if you have all necessary materials, it doesnt matter what the crafting window shows, you should be able to make it anyway.
  7. I think the real answer to this is that NPC's don't necessarily follow class restrictions. Malgus uses both a single blade and then 2 blades in the opening trailor and then uses lightning in the False Emporer flashpoint, etc. So is Malgus a Juggernaut, Marauder, or some type of Inquisitor? I dont think we can answer this question, because in truth, he's just Sith, and doesn't have to follow PC class restrictions. The same goes for other NPC's, they just dont fit class molds very well, and that has to do with story plot vs game balance.
  8. Lok'Tar Ogar! wait..... "The force is with ME" "Mercy is for the weak"
  9. As a sorc, while levelling I exclusively used the tank companions - Khem until I got Xalek, Xalek from 45-50. Now at 50, I almost never pull out my tanks, and use Ashara for almost everything solo. I always thought Andro was a tool and never used him. Talos wasnt great for me because sorcs can heal themselves, and now that I'm playing exclusively as a healer, he's really useless. I am also (slowly) levelling an assassin as a tank, and have been using Andronikos, and will use Ashara once I get her. I also feel like Talos will be best for an assassin tank to reduce the down time between pulls.
  10. Pretty sure he'll be neutral to everything you do since you technically shouldnt have him yet. If you are doing the lvl 50 bonus series and dailies on belsavis, he will gain affection from those.
  11. Probably me just being nit picky, but Consulars actually can use shields once they've taken the Shadow advanced class (just like assassins can use shields). Sages and Sorcerers cannot use shields. As an artificer (and a sorcerer), I can attest to the fact that you can indeed create Shields, Foci, and Generators regardless of whether or not you can personally use them. Foci are for dps and healing force-users, Generators are for dps and healing non-force-users, while shields are usabale by any class capable of tanking. There exist (crafted) shields with both strength and aim currently, and soon to include willpower for shadow and assassin tanks with 1.2 (willpower shields currently exist only as quest rewards, random drops and end-game token loot but have some crafted versions with the new patch).
  12. Do you mean the entrances to the Operations (Eternity Vault and Karragga's Palace)? These are located on the fleet; for empire they're on the Ziost Shadow - I don't know the republic equivalent, but i would assume they're in roughly the same place, just with a different ship name.
  13. You can; as an inquisitor, i joined my warrior friend to do a class quest that he had to fly us to. I've also on 2 separate occasions helped some agent friends with the Darth Jadus event.
  14. Redoubt can indeed become Veracity; the RE rate is extremely frustrating at the moment. I would advice waiting until 1.2 goes live and try again, as RE rates are being adjusted.
  15. I am an artificer on my main character, and the +31 stat crystals may go for 30K or more (at least they used to!), so a +16 stat crystal for 30K is someone trying to take advantage of your inexperience. Tell them to shove off! Really, you shouldnt need to worry about 'purple' crystals until you're level 50 anyway, a 'blue' quality one should be just fine for levelling, and you shouldnt pay more than 3-5K for it.
  16. As someone astutely pointed out, my entire previous post pertains to custom (orange) items. Custom weapons are currently critable, while custom armor currently is not. After 1.2 all custom gear (weapons and armor) will be allowed to crit. Green, Blue, and Purple gear of all types has always been capable of crits and nothing is changing here.
  17. Currently, crafters are ONLY able to attain crits on crafted weapons. The change coming in 1.2 allows for ALL crafted orange gear to be crit, thus producing the augment slot on gear that was previously impossible to augment.
  18. Correct. Technically any orange item will be completely equal in quality to any end game set piece because you will be able to remove all mods from the set piece, including set bonus, and place them into any orange piece for the same slot. If that orange piece happens to have an augment slot, you get an EXTRA mod of a single stat to put in, thus making it slightly better than the original Rakata or Champion piece.
  19. I'm not convinced this is accurate; technically both purples with mod and enhancement slots AND full custom gear is 'modifiable.' The statement could mean that both partially modable artifact AND custom gear will be researchable to learn a schematic. Could anyone on the PTR confirm or deny?
  20. Tauntauns would make poor mounts outside Hoth and Belsavis! The poor things would bake in that Tatooine sun!
  21. As far as I know, there is currently NO purple or magenta crystals for sub-level 50 use. In 1.2 the vendor is going away, so you will not be able to purchase any crystals from an NPC vendor; most of those colors, with the exception of white, will be come craftable to artificers. There are plans to allow for a sub-level 50 magenta crystals, but I do recall hearing anything to indicate that this would be the case for purple.
  22. Are you using rank 340 mission discoveries? The artifact level stuff comes from purple 1-time missions that you can purchase on the GTN or find with various other mission skills.
  23. Yep, can't use companions to fight world bosses. They are designed to be Operations level content for whatever level that zone is designed. A 16 man group at the correct level for the zone *should* be able to take a world boss (sometimes only 8 are required). They are not designed to be solo'd although in some cases it's possible once you've VASTLY outlevelled the boss (at which point it's almost pointless because the loot it drops is for players at the correct level).
  24. The ancient Sith society existed in a strict caste system which included nobility, commoners, and yes, slaves. When the dark jedi subjugated Korriban and it's native Sith species, all these 'aliens' were slaves to the dark jedi humans. Over time, the dark jedi learned of the Sith's intimate connection to the dark side and began using their knowledge and interbreeding. The 'Purebloods' that exist in our timeline are actually Sith/Human hybrids. All that being said, only force-sensitive Sith are placed in high regard within Imperial society. It just so happens that Sith-blooded individuals have an extremely high rate of force-sensitivity. The rare non-force-sensitive 'Pureblood' is NOT placed any higher than any other 'alien' in Imperial society; Humans are the dominant species and only bow to the Dark Council and it's followers within the Sith organization, species is irrevelent in this case. Within the ranks of the Sith organization, however, Purebloods carry a slightly higher degree of respect. It is neither game-breaking nore lore-breaking to have a Pureblood begin life as a slave. The ONLY thing one could say about this situation is that he is inducted into the Sith so late in life - one would think a pureblood's force sensitivity would be noticed long before adolescence let alone young adult-hood. The storyline of the inquisitor does fit with a pureblood and does allow for an explanation of the 'fall from grace' that lead to your character being a slave in the first place, regardless of species. As far as being called 'alien' instead of by your specific race like the agent story, well, ALL non-humans are considered aliens by Imperial society (and especially within the ranks of the Sith organization). Purebloods are tolerated and even respected because they are frequently quite strong in the force - your character just happens to come from a low caste and is still treated as such until he's proven himself. The Chiss have a special place in Imperial society because they joined the Empire willingly and largely keep their autonomy on their home worlds.
  25. Also, Inquisitor is one of the least buggy classes with skills that mostly work properly. We don't have buggy issues with cover like Agents, we have interesting and varied rotations (no tracer missile spam here!), and our tanks' threat management is one of the most intuitive and functional of all the tanking classes. I feel that the functionality and user-friendliess has also contributed to the popularity of the class. With the winds of change coming in 1.2, however, I fully expect flavor-of-the-month players to jump ship and the Inquisitor population to drop to some semblance of a balanced population. I look foreward to not having to compete against 3 other inquisitors in an 8 man group!
