Can a darkness based build fill a spot, other than main tank, on pve?

With this spec, pretty much limited to main tanking when playing PvE?

I've always ran as a madness assassin, but I find myself pretty much pvp'ing mostly and, while I love the madness spec, would like to try a darkness and/or hybrid (Amy of those still viable?). What's the latest recommended pvp darkness spec?

So with the way expertise works in 1.2, should we be going with two PvP relics (instead of a pvp relic and the matrix cube)?

So is general opinion that in the world of 1.2, having two pvp relics is better ( for pvp) than one pvp relic and the matrix cube?

Now, my understanding is that for BM.. you can pull the armor but the set bonus doesnt' go with it?

My concern is that.. what if the champ bag currently shown as a reward stays as a champ bag on my pending (meaning, its already the reward.. I just havent picked it up).. then basically all I get is the associated champ/centurion comms when I open it to spend on whatever it is I can buy with comms after 1.2. I'd hope that reward would change to WZ comms during the patch (just because I can use extra WZ comms come tomorrow to help me buy more BM gear sooner) - but if it's not I'd rather turn in now just to have a chance at actually using the comms on gear should the bag remain on the reward.

If I leave some rewards pending come 1.2, will the reward likely stay per the current (champion bag) or switch to the reward from 1.2 (warzone commendations)?

I'm Assassin light side - the story works great there. So, I think no matter what you do, the story will work out great.

Right - I'm cool with that, I was just wondering if I would have to spend the $ to pull the mods out of whatever other orange gear I put them into, to put back into the BM gear in order to trade it in for the War Hero gear.

Any feedback as to how this is currently working on the PTS?

I didn't realize that when dropping death field on multiple targets, each target uses a charge. Given that, I decided to go with Stalker gear. It also gives me some flexibility if I decide to try running a tank spec with DPS gear.. the gear will still work well for me. That said, I may also just have two pieces of the Force Master 'available' in case I want to roll with that (depending what I am doing). I can then have 4 pieces Stalker, 1 piece Force master, and an additional FM piece for one of the ones that are Stalker - then all it takes is switching off 1 piece to go from one to the other.

Come 1.2, when buying War Hero gear and trading in your BM gear... how does the BM gear need to be slotted (with all the original mods?) Just wondering if I would have to swap all the mods back into the BM gear if I had pulled them to put in other orange gear. Thanks

question - the Stalker bonus (other than the 15s reduction in Recklessness cooldown) is 1 extra charge. what would the 3 charges get burned on? (with 2 I do Death Field and Discharge.. so if I had 3.. not sure what a good use of that 3rd charge would be)

Which of the PvP Gear sets do you recommend for this spec? I've heard arguments for Stalker and for Force Master (with swapped out enhancement), and was wondering what you thought.

So do folks in general prefer the 2 piece bonus that comes from Force Master over the 4 piece Stalker bonus (for madness)? If so, wouldn't it be ideal to keep going and grab the 4 piece (and swap our enhancements) in order to also get the additional bonus for the 4 piece? If not, what are potentially other alternatives? That said.. why are some folks down on the Stalker bonus for madness? Doesn't madness also gain something from the boost to recklessness that Stalker gives?

FYI - I've been running around with darkenwolf's spec for a few days and I am loving it. Works perfect for my play style.

Thanks. So I'm starting to think perhaps the Force Master set and just deal with any necessary mod / enhancement swaps (mostly enhancements right?). Then I get some healing off of Crushing Darkness (which is something I try to do as often as possible), and I get more range out of Shock.. which on PvP I find myself using a lot while on the move and closing the gap with a target). To me, that seems like it will have more use than the boost to Recklessness from the Stalker set. (too bad none of the other 2 piece bonuses are decent for the madness assassin, then I'd have 2 pieces Force Master and pieces something else)

I'm finding myself playing more and more PvP, so I am trying to see what are good madness specs for PvP (w/31 points into madness). I was wondering what specs you madness assassins out there are running around with for PvP. also, what PvP set(s)? Thanks

What spec / skill distribution do you recommend?

For more specific reference. What I am planning on doing is to definitely have insulation (30 percent armor just seems too good to pass up). Then what's going on is I am considering dropping Torment (just to test if I really need it - the trash force cost reduction seems small, and I only use Shock in pvp and only situationally so.. so not sure there). But if I drop torment, not sure whether those points would sit better under with defiance, or perhaps corrupted flesh. (I thought about dropping uk (and maybe even chain shock) so I could grab both since the simulcraft folks figured out the best dps rotation is one without shock, but I find myself using shock often on pvp (while on the move and closing distance so I think those two will go a long way for me on pvp).
