  1. Well I've tried FQDN and IP address, but can't get it to accept my substitute server address. I mean it obviously recognizes me trying to override, but it definitely doesn't like the formats I've tried.
  2. I seriously doubt whoever replied to you has any idea what the issue is. But yeah, good luck getting EA to refund any money, despite the term for what they are doing right now being "financial fraud". Ah, if only we were rich folk and could afford justice. Look, only reason I'm still here is because my sub renewed on the 11th. I've already paid for time, so no harm in me sticking it out. If I was coming up on renewal, yeah, I'd cancel my sub.
  3. Problem is coming up with a format that the game will accept. I've tried several variations but still get the error message. You can find your last server address in the User_AccountDev.ini file in %localappdata%\SWTOR\swtor\settings. [settings] LastPlayedShard = Star Forge LastPlayedShardAddress = he3000n01.swtor.com:8995:castlehilltest
  4. Ok, managed to create a new error (on purpose). In the game directory, in swtor\retailclient, there are to ICB files, plain text, looks like they are some sort of configuration for bridging to the game servers. The first line of each of them sets up a shard address alias, the actual internet address of the server you are playing on. I changed it to hard code to Star Forge. Now I get a popup I've never seen before, Error Code C3, Failed to establish server connection. So the ICB files take information from the server and set you up in the shard. Honestly strange that these are plain text files, but whatever. What I'm wondering is, if I find the right format, can we just bypass server selection entirely?
  5. I wasn't gonna say it, but yes.
  6. They pop in about once a day to ask for more info. Some of what they ask for points me to new possible solutions, so maybe something will come up I can use to make a working fix.
  7. Ya know what really bugs me? I mean other than paying for a service that is not being provided. It's that I missed out on Season rewards last time due to real life commitments, and I really want the space station apartments, and there is no other way to acquire them. I know it's not a big deal considering everything else, but I was really hoping to figure out the whole Season thing this time around so I could get the apartments, and since almost everything Bioware puts out these days requires some amount of play every single day I likely won't see them.
  8. Yeah, wasn't the compatibility settings that fixed it, it was cleaning out the SWTOR folder and removing the settings. This does occasionally work, but it's not reliable. Sometimes the presence of a single keybind file can cause it to fail. Sometimes deleting everything and starting fresh doesn't work either. Personally I think it has something to do with the %localappdata%\SWTOR directory. Tinkering with that seems to get the best results. It's like the game is having trouble reading and writing to that location. When it works it works. When it partially works, it works if the directory is empty. When it doesn't work, well, no server list.
  9. Doesn't work for Steam. Tried both launcher.exe and swtor.exe. Can't test the web version yet.
  10. Steam version seems to be working for me now. Scratch that. It worked twice in a row. Launch, get to character select, quit. Twice. Now the server list is empty again. AAAND one of my experiments is forcing the web launcher to download all the files again. Sigh.
  11. I'm pretty sure there are always two instances of swtor.exe in Task Manager when the game is running. I remember asking about this years ago, afraid I don't remember the explanation.
  12. They won't address that here, you'll have to directly email customer service. Moderators and developers don't have the ability to do anything that affects money. If you want an accurate timeline for your email: February 8: Game is patched. Launcher begins crashing immediately. February 8-13: Six days. Game is unplayable due to launcher issues. February 14: New launcher repair utility is published. Corrects the crashing issue, game playable. February 15: Game is patched to 7.0. Server list will not populate, game unplayable. February 15-17: Three days (and counting.) Game is unplayable due to server list not populating. So the game has been playable one day (the 14th) out of 10 (so far).
  13. I apologize, I misread them. It was early and I was on my first cup of coffee
  14. Unfortunately those are the launcher logs, and that problem was solved on Monday, before 7.0 even launched. We need the client logs.
  15. Ok, I've got it to work maybe one time in five, but it's not reliable. And I have to wait until the character selection screen is up before copying back the he3000, keybind, and guiprofile files. Just having the new, empty SWTOR directory open in Explorer will cause it to fail. Oh, AND, I have to delete launcher.settings and eula.settings. If it doesn't work, rinse and repeat until it does. Not a good solution, especially since not everyone is as computer literate as you and me.
  16. We addressed Armoury Crate earlier yesterday. The empty list thing affects both people with and without Armoury Crate installed. Additionally people with AC were able to play the game prior to 7.0, so it's not that.
  17. At what point are you copying the settings back? And are you deleting launcher.settings and eula.settings from the game directory? That was the only way I got it to work. Give me a step by step, I can build either a bat file or AutoHotkey script to automate the process.
  18. Can I ask what kind of computer you are using?
  19. Yeah, it's the game itself. Logs and network traffic show it happening after the launcher hands over to the game and the launcher shuts down.
  20. I never put mine to sleep, either warm boot (restart) or cold boot (shutdown).
  21. I haven't, but there have been one or two cases over the last week where the launcher didn't crash, and one or two cases since the 7.0 patch where people were able to play briefly. Sorta like the bug gets bugged one in a hundred times and things work the way they are supposed to. Problem is no one can reproduce the results reliably in order to come up with a set of steps to make the game work. It's just sheer luck if it does.
  22. I've provided you with all of this in previous posts, as well as an analysis of the network traffic. However: Launcher Log Client Log - Windows 10 Pro. Windows Firewall, and Windows Defender antivirus. - Firewall has exceptions for both launcher and game. Removing and readding them changes nothing. Turning off the firewall changes nothing. - Adding an exception to the antivirus changes nothing. - Switching from wireless to wired networking changes nothing. - Tested with warm boot and cold. Nothing changes. Above logs are from the retail client. However using the Steam version changes nothing, the shard list is still empty.
  23. Nope, Steam version same issue, no server list.
  24. Darn you! lol Oh well, I'm already 41 gigs into the download, might as well let it finish.
  25. Imagine my surprise. But at least we know they are reading the thread.
