  1. Since when was opinion vilified into insignificance? The opinion of players is the foundation the game is built on. All arguments stem from opinion and are backed up by facts, as with the OP's post. Guess what, in a democratic situation the opinion of the majority is what rules. The opinion of the majority definitely concur's with the OP in this case and that is backed up by the facts that countless posts have been made on the subject and a large proportion of subscribers have left/intend to leave. But silly me, this isn't a democratic system, BW & EA share joint dictatorship. Yeah, well that's just like, my opinion, man
  2. The story line quests are all generally good, it's the others which need to be brought to standard, why should they be worse?
  3. I do realize that what I ask for is far and beyond the risk that EA would be willing to take with profits though. I also understand why BW have decided to stick to what they do best, and that argument is reasonable. However it is dissapointing they had to make the only Star Wars MMO available which is the one I wanted to be the greatest most innovative MMO to date. I think part of the problem is that Star Wars fans want the best for a universe and lore they know and love. See TB's take on TOR
  4. Are you serious? Do you have no imagination or ambition for the future of MMO's what so ever? You would rather just sit in the present collecting teeth for a quest? That's the only thing you haven't seen in a game? Yeah okay. To start with questing needs to be completely revamped, perhaps GW2 will get it right with they're interactive events. Perhaps it will suck. In my opinion there should be less instant gratification quests of kill this, collect that, and more complex ones which are split up into more objectives all giving you XP. For example you have to hunt some one down, following them through the galaxy. Asking for clues, fighting your way through places to look for information, perhaps the opportunity to pull him out of the shadows by going under cover or taking a family/friend hostage. Setting up an ambush? That would be awesome for BH alone. Guild content should be more dynamic, there could be anything from guild quests to guild PVP, guilds could form alliances, merge. You could be able to take a contract out on some one ala EVE, more for PVP servers that one. I think Open world PVP should be more encouraged though, there should be some form of punishment in place to avoid ganking by higher level players. Co-operative quests could be cool, taking from games such as portal or MW3 special Ops, where you both take different tasks to complete the same objective. There could be a PVP warzone taking from gears of war Horde mode and halo reach where you fight off waves off enemies from a fortification, seeing how many you can survive. It would be impossible to develop into this game now but I think factions, Classes and levels should be completely abolished. Radical move, not essential, but it would give rise to far more customization where far less people are the same character. You could chose to join factions after character creation with the option to switch or defunct depending on your dark side/ light side points. Instead of classes you could take traits from a list, such as Force sensitive, Sharpshooter. These would mold the direction you take but other skills would be more fluidly balanced between all players. Also I don't buy into this whole money sink business where you must buy your skills from a trainer? You should have to earn them via an achievement type system or even a separate bar which fills depending on your play-style. Space combat could be completely extended to a more sand box kind of arena instead of a railed system, there is a lot of potential for PVP and team missions here. There is also massive potential from the Star wars lore to include countless mini games such as Pazzak, holo chess, pod-racing. You could even gamble on the pod-racing like Qui Gon Gin has to in Episode 1. Maybe you get the option to cheat, if you are caught you get a ban and attacked? I just want the MMO genre to become more realistic, less a game more an extension of reality, so we get to become a character in the Star Wars universe. Is that so much to ask...
  5. Yes, I who can see a developer taking no risks in case of slightly reduced profits and react angrily am the sole reason the genre is stale. Let's just leave it to the indie developers to take all the risks and come up with all the good ideas for EA and BW to steal. I do not expect instant perfection but I do expect evolution, some form of forward momentum.
  6. I hope WOW dies, and this dies, and this entire sub genre of irritating cloned games is lost in the vortex of crap the internet produced.
  7. I have done this with commendations and lost a whole bunch, you can't sell the item you accidently buy for commendations or even credits, I was in a slight rage.
  8. We don't need LFD, get a guild, it's not that difficult. If any thing there should be some kind of feature encouraging you to find a guild. Duel Spec is meh, not really essential and just ends up with less people in a guild having a viable role, why should one person be able to steal the tanking and DPS spot over some one else? UI mods, okay we need them but we will get them at some point, that is just a case of patience to be honest. What the game really needs is more content, and im not just talking about more flashpoint , PVP and planet environments. The entire point of an MMO is to appeal to a broad range of people, pulling them into the game in different ways. Crafting and the development of the economy need to be made more fluid and dynamic for those who like to be involved in the economy. There could be countless mini games such as holo chess and pazzak, pod racing even, which would again keep an entire section of players interested. More character customization on gear, skills and appearance because it important for every one to feel unique. The space combat has awesome potential to steal a portion of players if done correctly, team space combat could be implemented for a start, even some PVP. There should be some co-op type quests, maybe even some Guild quests would be pretty awesome. The Guild ship is an excellent idea which can begin the development of how guild are going to function in this game. I would also like to see a more direct effect on your character and the world depending on choices you make, perhaps you could gain access to different places via choices you make, even items/ship or simply more paths in the story line. More plants of an alien nature covering planets, and more wildlife on the earlier planets. Basically i'm more than happy to wait for all this, but the problems you point out are not of paramount importance.
  9. Your point is? The proportion of people's opinion's here can be projected to give an estimation on the overall opinion of the game. That's right, people's opinions are what influence the future of the game.
  10. Greetings avid gamer, we thank you very much for taking the time to post your frustrations and thoughts on our game. It was only yesterday that while sipping on some expensive champagne and wiping our lips with $200 bills that we were discussing this very issue. We spent a lot of time debating about what to do unfortunately though, there just isn't an easy solution to your extremely complex and taxing problem. Please continue to give us feedback, we value every customers thoughts and we shall "monitor" the situation very carefully and could possibly throw the idea around at our next monthly pisup for some lols.
  11. The ability to gamble on other players podracing? Get on it.
  12. Go to google, type SWTOR followed by what ever you want to search, usually works for me
  13. Actually 1k is 0.066recurring % of 1.5m and maybe 0.01% of people who don't like the game come and post on here, so actually 100,000 people aren't happy, which is like 6.66recurring % of players. ZOMGZ pulling numbers from the air ftw
  14. Opening threads asking if SWTOR will take over WoW on the official SWTOR forums, is like opening a thread asking if Mac or Windows is better on an Apple forum. You will not learn the truth.
  15. Holo Chess Pazzak Podracing Guild ships and space PVP Increased customization options ie Body Types A bit more freedom with weapons like you say A disarm so i can pick my lightsaber back up using the force, WIN More avoidance and dodge with Lightsabers, and more parrying. Lightsabers should be more deadly, Master stroke should be a finishing move. UI customization options Better AH system
  16. I wish some one would sit down to make a good game, with the target in mind this game will rock. Instead EA has put the focus on money money money, everything from the class and faction system to the crafting system is built in a way that you need to re-roll and play the game more in order to experience everything. They just put little things in which block your path as one character. On top of that they released the game early, obviously in time for Christmas, and they took no risks what so ever because any risk to the money coming in is unacceptable.
  17. Build a breakfast fortress, to keep all the haters out.
  18. This is why I am against factions which are implemented this way. I think it could have been far more fun for you to start out as a 'force sensitive', for example, and then depending on your light/darkside points you open up trees for sith and jedi abilities. With this in mind the factions could have been in-game choices where you can decide who to join after say level 10, and people can easily switch between as in real life where motives and loyalties change. Of course this would have worked better with a skill based system in order for the same idea to collate with the BH, smuggler and other non-force using classes.
  19. Well wait and see, it might yet come true
  20. If no one complained then BW would get the idea nothing needs to be changed, is that really what you want, really? The Devs needs to read through as much of the feedback as they can and they should look into ALL recurring issues.
  21. Yeah I would tend to agree, though I still don't think the story is the problem more of the disguise. For those that want it perhaps an option to turn off all of the dialogue, or after you have heard it once you can skip it instantly, might be difficult with the way light/dark points are distributed via conversations though. At the moment the game play is looking very cookie cutter MMO, but they do have the opportunity to solve this by expanding some ideas and implementing new ones. The space missions definitely show promise, unfortunately are slightly short and railed, but that's what Dev's are for. Also now they have the main game frame in place perhaps the regular patched content will begin to build on it and make something more special, at the moment it is definitely too similar to WOW for me but I will give them some more time, they released it prematurely so I think in 6months or so we might have a better idea of what direction they want to take the game in.
  22. I think story is an important aspect of gaming and games like WoW lack in this area. However they make up for it in other places making you forget about that, and feel like you can make your own story. I think BW have done a great job with SWTOR's story lines, the IA is fantastic especially. I do think there are a few other places where the game lacks, partly in the fact it mirrors other games to closely and feels a little limited at times. But it's a new game and there is plenty of opportunity for this to change. All in all the story is a nice addition, not purely aesthetic because it gives your character and the quests greater context, something to fight for and become hooked on, but it shouldn't be used to hide the areas the game is lacking in.
