  1. Penalize people for jumping ship and they will just afk or eventually quit all together. It's that simple! Also, this game doesn't enjoy the same subscriber base that a game like WoW has, so implementing such things could cause further negative subscriber issues for EA/Bioware. Too risky just to appease a vocal minority in this forum.

     

    So quit whining like a bunch of little nancy boys and Just deal with it for god sake!

     

    I think that (bolded/underlined) it was everybody wants. The loss in subscribers will improve the game and help overall subscriptions in the long run. Quitters dont realize how annoying it is to have matches determined by who has more quitters on their team. They usually just quit if their teammates quit.

     

    The vocal minority is the quitters. I highly doubt the human race would have evolved so far if the average person could not handle losing and was so inconsiderate of others.

     

    The irony in the last sentence is amazing. From your mouth to the quitters ears.

  2. Heck, they can even track performance of each specs and give buffs/nerfs for any spec that seems to be too powerful

     

    I like gear grinding but this post made a really good point. For the metrics alone it could be valuable. Even though they have all the averages, there be anomalies. ie one class is perfectly balanced but for whatever reason performs subpar when it is undergeared compared to other undergeared classes.

     

    It would also be fun.

  3. Quitting because one doesn't want to play with certain team mates? Nothing wrong with that. Quitting because one is a soloer, queued solo, and doesn't want to face a premade with a PUG? Nothing wrong with that. Quitting because someone doesn't like a certain Warzone, or alternatively plays a class that is less than useful in said Warzone? Nothing wrong with that.

     

    Are you aware that there are other people trying to play a fun game that you are causing to lose? You speak like you affect no one. What about the guy who has to fill in for you? Lets say he has limited time, he is stuck with your mess.

     

    You are complaining in the forums because you are annoyed at people's unsportsmanlike behavior and asking that those people be publicly humiliated. You are accusing someone who doesn't want to waste their time doing something that for whatever reason they don't find fun of having baggage into things and being a cancer. You are getting this upset over a non-competitive game.

     

    Yes, they ruin other peoples fun and like you are oblivious to anyone but themselves, so the forum is a place to enlighten them. You say it's "humiliating them," that implies it is bad behavior. You contradict yourself, if there is nothing wrong with it, how is it humiliating?

    You certainly don't. I have yet to be in a WZ with 7 teammates who were clueless. If I have 1 or 2 clueless players I deal with it. I don't want to screw over the people who do know what they are doing or the poor guy who would have to fill my spot. But as you so eloquently say, you don't care. That is my point quitter.

    What in the world are you talking about? Do you really want me to list real world events that come before a PvP MMO? Are you serious? I was talking about the 90 posts about people quitting because of "bads" or "until bioware stops premades and pugs" "until bioware lets me choose my WZ" etc etc etc

     

    Adult =/= Kids; I look at the maturity level.

    There are plenty of immature "kids" on both sides who will not understand, they will nerdrage waving their limp-wrists about demanding things, but there is also mature individuals on both sides who do understand and respect others; those who will understand more, are the ones who do have children.

     

    Enough with the sad attempt to morph what i said into "let a kid with a broken leg cry and finish a WZ"

    Seriously, this is really poor sportsmanship. Then again, it's typical quitter mentality to blame others so continue....

     

    Next you people will say I want soldiers in combat zones to ignore orders to protect civilian villlages and finish the WZ.

  6. Just thought that I would point out that getting the same gear at 1/3 the speed is NOT better gear it is the same gear faster.

     

    I will not argue semantics but, if you and i each run 100 warzones and you have more WH than pieces than I do, you have better gear, even if I will get the same gear in 6 months.

    The point I was making was that Ranked were only supposed to reward people with epeen itens such as a special look. They were not supposed to get gear faster.

     

    As I said, I have it done already. I know on forums people (ie the posts above) love to tell people they are qq'ing, but the fact remains that you get gear faster in ranked.

  7. Maybe you should get out more? Players get annoyed when there is no call, or like a bunch of sheep get drawn away from the door and someone ninjas in behind them to cap. When people play like that, they deserve to lose and those who dont wish to play with clowns like that, should be allowed to quit.

     

    You get very small returns for losing if you are chasing coms and to the majority, if you have a team of muppets, its best to leave and try another WZ.

     

    So instead of looking at it from one narrow point of view, maybe broaden your search for the reasons why people DO quit.

    Keep blaming your teammates quitter.

    Quitter rationale nonsense makes want to vomit so I will stay away from this thread. The normal people are in your groups, you don't fool us, we see you quitters quit. If we are lucky and get a quick replacement we usually do OK. The problem is when you quitters quit we often have to wait for reps and sometimes your cancerous quitting is contagious.

  8. So you will get 15 posts saying, I quit b/c my team is bad, and 15 saying, I quit b/c Bioware this or that, for every one post from a normal person. Every time they read a post by a normal person saying how they are trying to play a match and hate when people quit, the quitter immediately responds with, "well you are bad." Childish.

     

    The real solution is to somehow put all the quitters in their own pool of players. Then Bioware could charge money for spectators watching all of them blame each other. Win Win for Bioware and regular people and hopefully the quitters will quit the game and go destroy another MMO.

     

    Quitters are so psychologically messed up they honestly think that every time a bomb is planted or a node is capped or a goal is scored against them, it is someone else's fault. Seriously, read these posts. It is impossible that the other team is good. I am sure if a good play is made against them they blame premades or gear, these quitters are a cancer.

     

    This is a game so it is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, I mean all they do is ruin others fun.It's like a little kid who steals your baseball so 18 people can't play. But, make no mistake about what kind of people quitters are and what kind of people the folks who play hundreds of matches and NEVER quit are. If you stick out a meaningless MMO match because you don't want to be unfair to whoever gets stuck filling your spot you are probably a decent human being.

    I have a question. I understand how awesome you are but I have one question. If you are defending a node, solo because you're awesome, to give your team the advantage at mid. And the other team caps, how do you know it is a lack of teamwork? Maybe the other team is better.

     

    In Huttball, if you do not see anyone to pass to, how do you know it's a lack of teamwork, maybe the other team AoE slowed them or stunned them, rooted, killed etc.

     

    I realize you are truly awesome but unless your camera angle zooms out 5x farther than mine there is no way to determine your entire team is medal farming. Not to mention that medal farming is pointless now anyway. Quitters are a cancer to PvP. Besides 100% proof that someone is hacking, there is no excuse for this.

     

    It sounds more like the "Psycology of Quitter 101" if you get frustrated losing, look around, blame your teammate and quit.

    I would rather play with people who do not have pass bound than quitters.

  10. I agree with the quitters. People should be able to leave if they don't like the WZ, if their teammates quit, if they are playing a premade and if they are playing better geared people or teams with better composition than their team and of course if their team is "bads."

     

    In short, every war zone should be decided within the first minute, if your team goes behind you should quit make and make up an excuse like the people in this thread. This will be great for PvP and really make it fun. We need more quitters.

     

    Remember, if you lose, find someone to blame, or blame Bioware, it's never your fault and you should never stick it out after a full minute. It's much smarter to quit and hope for a better team.

  11. ^^^ he's about spot on. Infiltration is so easy to shut down.

     

    Every single class (including KC) has a rotation that can be shut down.

    The burst is better in infiltration. This is a fact.

    Infiltration needs to do two things in ranked, know who to attack and know how to get out of being attacked.

    Infiltration is excellent at capping nodes. 3 of the 4 WZ's require quick caps to win. KC can't touch infiltration in this area.

     

    In my opinion Ranked is being played very conservatively now, when it becomes more mundane you will see more freelancing.

     

    Apart from burst, the KC shadow has every other advantage. More utility, better survivability and AoE effects. I have been in groups that have lost because the burst DPS was low. Shadows in general have a lot of CC and I don't understand how anyone says they should just be shutdown and killed quickly. Usually, people go after healers and cappers. If someone is peeling an infiltration shadow off a healer, the infiltrator has a slow, stun, speed, immobolize and knockback and an escape ability.

     

    Infiltration is easy to shut down if he is AFK. Most people who do not like infiltration will say the same thing about all the low defensive classes. However, you can not win without burst. Is KC better? Yes, the amount you give up in burst does not compare to the gains, but infiltration has it's place.

     

    Do you seriously think KC DPS geared shadows don't do as much damage as infil? I wonder why everyone was screaming for nerfs to specifically that before 1.3...

     

    The do great on the scoreboard and the KC has good burst and good AoE. However, in a WZ you want kills as fast as possible, seconds matter on caps. KC single target DPS is slower. Even if the KC shadow won a higher percentage of 1v1 and 2v2, they are slower wins.

     

    The biggest detractor to infiltration is not another class but tanked spec'ed shadow assassins. The KC spec happens to be the tuffest 1v1 spec (amongst all classes and AC's) vs the infiltrator and that is a big factor in the detractor opinion.

  12. I usually combat-cloak when reinforcements appear or so that I can mind-trap again - I suppose I use it more tactically for offensive/cc capability compared to the typical "gunned, now time to run!" tactics.

     

    Mind trap will only work if your opponent is not in combat with any dots or other players on him, so I rarely use it that way except in a 1v1. Cloak has too many uses to list but suffice to say, I don't want the escape ability to be burned, whenever its up, in order to get more force, that is not how the spec is designed.

     

    Also, tank-specs can't talent into making blackout be usable outside of stealth for its force maintainance purposes, though you are right, it's AVAILABLE to tankassins to pick-up (though I've never heard of a good tankassin spec that has it).

     

    That is 100% true and my point, because the tank spec has no force issues to go along with it's other advantages. 30% regeneration is huge, and I think spinning kick vs low slash is a force cost saver as well.

     

    Devs, throw the infiltration spec a bone, it's literally laughed at. mostly because the other tree is so good but still.

When talented blackout is used outside of stealth it gives and instant +10 force + 50% force regen for 6s - that's a total of 82 force over 4 GCD - you would normaly only gain 48 force over that time. You can also talent blackout's cooldown down to 45s (same talent that reduces force cloak cooldown from 3 min. to 2 min.). Furthermore, you gain 10 force back every time your surging charge procs (occurs once every 10s). If you have survived long enough to come out of cloak, kill one person, pop blackout, kill another person, yes you WILL start to have force maintainance issues if you don't have an opportunity to re-stealth - but... then you can always just pop force cloak,.

     

    Just to recap my point was that the spec has resource issues if played correctly.

     

    1) The out-of-stealth regen ability is the first tier of infiltration/deception so it's available to the tank spec whereas the 30% regen is in the 4th tier of the tank spec which is unavailable to infiltration/deception. So, the tank spec which is far from underpowered gets a big advantage here.

     

    2) The playstyle of using of cloak/shroud works to get out of combat to get the regen buff works. But the ability is supposed to be your escape ability, not a way to get force back through the buff. You are also giving away the escape ability that is supposed to help survivability of the spec. That is not really fair.

    This guy is spot on.

     

    Blackout gives you an additional 10 force every 60 seconds. You also have an additional 10 in your force pool from another infiltration AC ability.

    That does not come close to competing with the KC 30% regeneration increase, and they have a talent to lower the cost of project/Saber strike.

     

    If you are continually DPS'ing you will run out of force. Fast.

     

    The people who say it is easy to shut down an infiltration spec are exaggerating. They assume that the target has his stun up, that the shadow does not have his breaker and that they knew the big rotation was coming. You can twirl 2x on target A and unload on target B. The spec should also not be targeting someone alone anyway.

     

    (Also, low slash is better then the talented spinning kick.)

     

    There are team makeups where this spec as well as concealment op are very good.

    In huttball it is a viable ball carrier in many situations, it has resilience, deflection and force speed and can get open with stealth. If he needs to, he also has a level 1 ability called pass.

     

    Comparing it to KC, the tanking spec, it is worse, that is simply because the tank spec does great DPS for a tank, which is another issue.

     

    The spec is fun, not as good as tank spec, it is useful, but I think it's resource management needs help.

  15. I have a consular and I do it all the time.

    Firstly, I would like to apologize, but more importantly I would like to explain why. The apology is sincere, everytime I do it and then see your AoE going off with cool graphics I grimace or facepalm. I screwed up, there I said it.

     

    Why?

    Our AoE does no damage, what is the point? No one was even focusing me, it was just a crowd, so why did I do it.

    The reason is because we consulars have no AoE abilities. We are all trained to see when a group is clumped so we can unleash an AoE, as consular, all i have is a knockback. Granted it's useless when not interupting or on a bridge/platform etc but when I see the crowd I hit the crowd.

     

    In conclusion, give us a social aoe ability with no damage, no effect, no gcd, if you want this to stop. Sort of like nicotine gum.

     

    **If you doubt my reasoning then next time it happens do this, ask the offender what spec he is, 9/10 it's an AC with no AoE.

  16. You can't have the checkbox there, its not possible.

     

    1. In rated warzones, you cannot requeue solo, only as a team.

    2. If you ......The checkbox would FUBAR you totally.

    Good riddance, I hated that checkbox (always had to uncheck it so I could buy stims/medpacks between matches before requeuing)

     

    People would forget to un-check it, a game would pop, but they didn't want play another one. So they would either decline or let the timer run out if they went afk. This caused WZs to start with uneven teams. It's good that it's gone.

     

    The should have left the check-box there and just had it default to "unchecked," no reason to have removed it, but not a major deal.

  17. Any additional information they supply, I will take happily. Sometimes your team is not doing well and this info can be helpful. Also, the more columns you have the more of chance you have at being on the top of one and can feel happy. I also want a "damage taken" column & solo kill column. If it was up to me, we would get an entire spreadsheet with average hit, mean hit etc etc.

     

    What if the Jugg comes out on top of single dps AND aoe DPS? Nerf?

  18. I think we should be able to return items that we bought and the developers later changed. I am now sitting on a war hero relic that is worse than an old battlemaster relic.

     

    Since the prior WH relics shared a cool down, I bought a "tanking" relic because two of the same "DPS" clickies were meaningless. Now the clicky (which did not stack) is gone and the DPS stats that replaced the clicky do stack.

     

    What is the reason vendors only give 1 credit for them?

    ( I understand they dont want me to keep changing the items by returning them, ie at 7:00 PM i have a DPS set and then 8:00PM exchange it for a tank set and then 9:00 exchange back to DPS, but this was a total item change that took quite some time to acquire.

    I don't believe this.

    If you are talking about your guild group, they will take you, the only time you won't get in a guild group if they need an archtype and you are (ie) DPS instead of heals.

    If you are talking about PUGs they are all scrambling for healers and would take you if you were the worst sorc on your server.

     

    I assume this is a clever way to ask for a buff to your class. But.... This post type has been done before and it won't catch on.

  20. This might have been true in 4 man premades plus 4 pugs, but versus a full 8 man on vent with augmented WH a team of good PUGs won't have a chance (maybe a slight chance on Alderaan if you can hold the early two cap).

     

    Wrong

    Not to mention a PUG could be 2 pugs of 4 in full WH. I have no idea what you are saying.
