  1. 1. The controls are horrible. Anyone who is not used to this type of gameplay will barely be able to fly their ship. When they do try GSF for the first time, they will just flit around like a drunk bubble bee. Then its just BOOM BOOM dead. with no clue where it even came from. 2.There is no way to practice. In the non-GSF part of the game PvE is really a sort of practice for PvP. GSF has no equivalent. It just throws you in the deep end of the pool. There needs to be some sort of PvE version vs npcs. A PvE version also needs different difficulty modes. It needs an easy mode where the npc's hit like wet noodles. It should take the npc's , in the easiest level, to take 30-50 shots to kill a player. In the master level it should be 1-3 shots. In fact a PvE version of GSF could be a real hit. Imagine a 16 man GSF raid where they have to destroy a few minor capital ships, a shipyard, and some sort of prototype super capital ship. The potential is there. I just don't think there are the resources to make GSF an active part of the average players gameplay.

NOT these dps goals they are talking about. No wonder PvP is always so imbalanced. While I really applaud them for the transparency. This is really the proof that balance is always going to be way out of wack.
  3. Here is an idea I would like to see. I would like them to create a pair of companions. I want them to be twins. One male. One female. Both of them modeled after the Sorc skill set. That would make it easy on BW because the skills would be the same. The only thing different would be their appearance. Also from a story standpoint the possibilities would be huge. In addition it would be a nice connection to the old school Star Wars movies.
  4. It would not be that hard to craft a short story to get Jaesa back. Playing off what was already said. The story could go like this using the alliance alert. The character gets told of a dark jedi attacking people or creatures that come near her. So you travel to the planet and investigate and find an insane jedi deep in a cave(make it easy to instance) After some sort of stalemate (cave collapses or you get knock out.) So you return to base and have a discussion and decide to tranquilizer her. Then while she is knocked out. You have to travel and find a jedi temple or a voss that specializes in healing the mind. After you heal her mind there will be some conversations that will determine if you get her as light or dark side. See a quick easy story that BW could do in order to get her back.
  5. This is why I hate the republic. They are such selfish people. ANY memorial should be in an open easy to get to place for BOTH sides, not just half the player base.
  6. I suggested a long time ago that they remove the stats from the color crystals a long time ago and add a new part that carries the stat. For example add a part called a focusing lens. This part can now carry the stat that the crystal had. That way they could scale it just like any other part.

  8. Well I finished all the current quests. Did all the Alerts, and now have 20 something companions I can summon to fight beside me. So after all the legacy gear we get now. I wanted to customize the appearance of some of these companions. Well I found out you can't. Want to put Lana in a different outfit. Nope no can do. How about one of the Resistance Leaders who join you. Nope. In fact the only companions we can customize are all the old classic ones. So with a roster of 20+ companions(that will only grow) we will have just a few that we can really put gear on to change how they look...

  10. What they should of done is generate 2 instances of every planet. When you go to that planet. You have to make a choice. Sort of like when you start an op and have to choose SM or HM. In this chase you have to choose the level synced version or the non synced one. That way all people in each instance are all placed with the same type. If this was put in everyone would have a choice in play style. That way level synced people don't have to mix with non synced people.
  11. New launcher is less secure. If someone was trying to get into your account in the old one, and they entered the wrong password or security key. Both of them would disappear, and the message on the launcher would say that you put an incorrect password or security key. Now if the password is correct all you need to retype is the security key.
  12. Well so far everything I had said elsewhere is coming true. Now we will have idiot proof Stats. Generic companions whose only difference will be physical appearance. No need for gear other than HM OP's. The only end game for 90% of the population is to play SWTOR Barbie. So now we will have a bunch of H2's and other dailies to do... Well there is no character progression now at end game. So I guess we do all these H2's for credits... So we can buy cosmetic gear. I guess once the story ends it really ends. Most MMO's create more things to grind when characters reach max level no less. New ways to make your end game character stronger is what keeps people playing. 3 Months after 4.0 hits, your going to have 1000's of board people just stop logging in. I don't really don't know what their goal is. I do think that as things stand 4.0 is really going to do a lot of harm to the overall life of the game. I hope I am wrong, but it really is starting to look like SWG all over again.
  13. People are really blind to what all this level sync and bolster will do to the long term life of the game. 1. People crying about getting ganked on a low level planet LOLOLO. I play on a pvp server since beta. I can count the number of ganks on one hand. Also if you think your little toon has a prayer against the level synced 60. Its obvious you did not watch the video. That level 60 is still going to steam roll though you. So you know what will happen. You will still have to log in your level synced 60 to stand a chance. In other words level sync is not going to prevent you from getting ganked, and you still won't be able to fight back. 2. Gear in 4.0 is now obsolete, but for one activity in the game running HM OPs. So if that is something you don't do... Well I guess you could do achievements or RP. So once you reach 65. There is no way to improve your character. Any gear you get will have no impact on its performance. So in the video you have a bunch of H2's to run. where you get a basic comm and a lock box. Well the gear you can buy with the comm(or I guess crystal now)... Its not going to make your character better. The lock box... So you get a piece of blue gear... Still did nothing for your character. Well what do we get at max level for doing all these H2's and other dailies along with FPs... We get credits... Since gear and stats have no meaning. What is left to spend money on.. Cosmetic stuff. When you remove the gear grind and people no longer have any means to improve the character they play. You know what they do. They stop logging in.
  14. Lets see. Level sync and companion level sync.... OK.. After you have finished all the story quests and have done each operation and Flash Point once. What is there left to do. Well you can't gear up a companion anymore to make them more effective. Well now you can do H2 heroics that will drop lock boxes... with stuff equal to your real level... That is worthless because it will just sync to the level of the content.. So there is no reason to ever do the H2 missions. Well then we have Comm/crystal gear... That all became worthless. What reason is there to grind Comm/crystals. I can't make my character any stronger. I can get bolstered to do any story mode FP or Op... So at level 65 if I don't do HM OPs... I no longer need to tweek my toons and get better gear. NO reason to buy augments too. If I have a mix of blue green gear. I no long have a reason to upgrade it. Daily quests. What is the point. Nothing I get from them can be used to make my character better. So in 4.0 the only thing left to do is play SWTOR Barbie...
  15. Patch 4.1 Since all Companions have the same abilities, stats, and Class. They are now being renamed Generic Companion A Generic Companion B Generic Companion C Generic Companion D Generic Companion E Patch 4.1b Since all companions are the same we are reducing their appearance to Generic Female Companion Generic Male Companion. You can still dress them up though!(for now)
  16. How can anyone be happy with these changes to companions. I don't know, but I get some people like them. To the person who made this decision. Really this is the best you could come up with. Why come up with a system that's going to piss off half your customers. Companions are something that should be expanded upon on, not reduced. With the changes to them, they will now be less customizable than a chest piece or a lightsaber. Here is what they should of done. First they should of developed a default armor/weapon set along with implants and ear pieces. This is the set you get when the companion first joins your crew. This armor set then scales with your level. The stats on this armor set are equal to green quality. Then add a quest at about level 30-40 that gives you a set equal to blue quality. Now every companion has a basic set of stats that can be used all the way to max level. The basic armor set then can be augmented for some basic customization of stats. This allows any player to use any companion when they want without have to gear up each one(basicly what the new system is). Because the companions retain all their gear slots. People at max level can tweak their gear all they want. Personally, I always thought they should of added artifact slots to companions to. These artifacts could only be equipped by your companion and would have different procs like a HoT or DD proc. They system that was developed is... just laziness. The only excuse for this system is if A) Total lack of a budget. B) Lack of imagination and skill.
  17. For Madness Sorcs. Mind Rip: Replaces Force Lighting. Mind Rip channels and has 4 ticks Each tick of damage scales. for example. 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 on the final tick On the final tick. The target is inflicted with Lingering Nightmares. On the next force damage attack to hit the target. The nightmares attack the mind for 4 seconds The target is stunned for 1 second and slowed for the remainder The target also suffers damage 2000 on the first tick then 1000, 750, 500, Target is unable to be affected by lingering nightmares for 45 seconds.

  19. I see the 1%er's are out in force. wahhhhhhhhh The dev's did not carter to us and make a new op. wahhhhhhhhh The we cried so much and the devs did not kiss our a****. Like in every other MMO wahhhhhhhhh Instead of raiders should be saying. "Ok, I did not get something I liked but the other 99% of the players got something cool." The changes to FP and OPs are a great move for the long term life of the game. A lot more people will be familiar will FP and OPs. The number of people who run FP and Ops will go up a lot. The amount of people with no clue of how to run the FP or OP will go down. More people can play content together. If people can't see how this blog post is awesome news for 99% of the people who play this game. Then they should just leave.
  20. It is possible with the current tech. Look at things like colicoid war game. You have mountable weapons. Granted they are stationary, but the mechanics are there. The problems come in with the mounts themselves and if the skills to fire the mounts weapons replace you existing skill bar. Also the balancing aspect of having a mount with a weapon. Does the weapon do enough to kill an equal level Mob? Does it take 5 shots? Whats to stop a player from kiting mobs they should have a hard time with. What about the range you can pull Mobs before they reset. The only way I could ever see this coming is if they designed a whole zone/planet/warzone just for the purpose of mounted combat and limited the mounted combat to that area.
  21. Short answer is no. There will not be any new ships that replace the current ones. The way they tied all your companions and class quests to your ship prevents them form giving us new ships. Its not impossible, but they would have to rewrite a lot of code. A lot more than the game budget allows. Very few people spend any time on their ship. Part of the reason we have strongholds, is that it was much easier for them to develop a whole new system. Rather than reprogram the ship system to allow for different ships.
  22. If you don't use the group finder because you might have to go afk. I have a few tips to help with that. 1. tell the people that if you might have to go afk before hand. Most people are reasonable if they know before hand. At this point in time a lot of groups can 3 man the tactical Flashpoints and Hard Mode FlashPoints. 2. If/When you have to afk. just type a quick message that you are. Let the group know that they are free to kick you if they need to replace you. If you do those 2 things 90% of groups will have no issues. The group finder dailies have a good return on comms , for the time involved. Also the CZ weekly nets you one piece of Artifact gear. It gives you a whole week to squeeze the 2 Flashpoints in for a free piece of gear.
  23. I Agree. They should create a part like a lens or something that holds a stat that they can modify over time. That way they can remove the stat from color crystals and everyone can use the colors they want. I'm not sure how hard it would be to go though all the existing items and add another component to the them. Or they can add the stat to something like another augment type item. This in turn could add more to crafting then.
  24. So GL/Disney, in a nut shell, threw out 170+ books written over 35 years. GL sat on his *** and did nothing to move the SW Universe forward in all the time. Now after all that time he wants to rewrite history so he can squeeze a few more drops of blood out of his creation. If he was so worried about his creation he should of: A) not granted licenses for people to write about his world B) been more involved in what people wrote The Story Board might cherry pick some tiny bits of the EU going forward, but I doubt much of it will ever be made canon. I see no reason after this change that they would ever limit what they can do going forward. Personally, I think he gave up the right to call what should be canon and what will not be. So for me Cannon will be the EU and the work of all the authors who kept SW alive for 35 years, and these 3 new moves will be some alternate universe.
