  1. Nice little compilation, most of the stuff was about the things that are great with SWTOR. That's not saying everything is perfect, but keep it up guys. BioWare's doing a great job. The only little wish I have which hasn't really been touched yet is the issue with so many low populated servers... Merging servers and opening free transfers isn't a sign of failure, it's a natural process with every MMO launch. Every single MMO, even the most successful ones, have done server merges so ensure the players have an enjoyable experience getting to play with others. I think that time is coming close for SWTOR as well.
  2. I love this new change. Not only you're making everyone happy by providing the option to customise, you're also adding numbers! This is a great improvement.
  3. I don't like that I can't see which of my spells are on longer cooldown whenever the global cooldown slider is active since all abilities turn grey. The white flash when the GCD finishes is a bit too strong and distracts me. I like the defined white lines around abilities.
  4. Don't really have any thoughts on this as I don't see the appeal of hiding parts of the UI. I like to have imformation readily available in MMOs. (Also, posting straight after your own topic to bump it makes you look like a knob.)
  5. I'm with you on this. I don't know if outright toggling XP off would be the way to go, but tuning the XP gains might be something to consider in the long run. I skip a fair bit of the bonus missions, haven't done any of the planets' bonus series and only do each flashpoint once to experience the story, and I'm still past the recommended level of the planet when I'm halfway through. I like PvP and space combat so I do the occasional mission every now and then, which seems to cause even more of a gap between my level/planet content. I enjoy the challenge, and at the moment the only time it gets interesting is when I solo the 2+ missions.
  6. As much as I don't want to admit it, I've become a bit emotionally attached to Corso as well. He just works the best with my scoundrel and having any other companion on the field with me feels strange. If my ship had a second-in-command, Corso would be it. He is a perfect example of a BioWare Good Guy, an easily likeable fellow (modest background, treats women well, good classic looks) who has a couple of funny quirks (naming his firearms, cheery attitude in the face of danger) but who also displays weaknesses without appearing like he has too many issues (has moments of childishness, lets his good heart cause him to be gullible in the hard galaxy) and needs the good Captain to guide him. A kind, funny guy who needs the main character. Most female players or those roleplaying a female character would probably find their smuggler falling in love with this character a natural progression. Examples of other "Corsos" from past BioWare games can be found as well. While they all have their different trademark personalities, all follow the same formula of a likeable male character with no huge personal issues; Anomen Delryn (Baldur's Gate II), Carth Onassi (KOTOR), Kaidan Alenko (Mass Effect) and Alistair (Dragon Age: Origins). I didn't mention Dragon Age II because I think both Anders and Fenris were outside of the norm of BioWare's "leading man" character design and were both quite tragic characters, which I personally loved for variety, but romancing Anders did break my Hawke's heart... I know they haven't mentioned character ages, but it feels to me like the Captain is in her late 20s or early 30s, while Corso is somewhere in his mid 20s. This makes the Captain a sort of more experienced, charming leadership icon that Corso can't help but fall for from the start and in turn his bright optimism and gentleman behaviour give the Captain a taste of something she isn't used to dealing with from the other men, considering her job. Corso is the perfect retirement plan for the Captain, if she ever decides she's made enough credits and is ready to settle down. I can just imagine the homely farm on Dantooine...
  7. I've only played a smuggler (female), but I've seen two cases where you could flirt and I'm not done with Act I yet. One of the characters was totally coming onto me and there was a flirt back option for every single dialogue, haha. I'm sure the male version has loads more, but I've personally been happy with the way the class story has panned out so far. I've been given the option to get personal with NPCs without it feeling out of place or like every single dude in the galaxy wants to get on my good side. Just a shame that the only guy who was suave enough to be interesting was also an old geezer.
  8. Well written article, and pretty much sums up my feelings about WoW and TOR as well. Had a chuckle at the Jar Jar Binks comment.
  9. No news yet, but I want a barber shop in TOR.
  10. I collected mine from the shop, but the one they gave me had a pretty bad dent on the side so I asked them to get me a new one. Two of my friends got the CE as well and both of their Darth Malgus statues have a defect on them, the lightsaber plastic part is too tight to actually fit the hilt. :/ I got lucky with mine but it's a bit worrying that both of my friends ended up with the same problem on their statues.
  11. I'm surprised so many people are outraged about the queues. I guess getting used to playing on a big WoW server humbles you, leaving the PC on in a queue just gives me more time to make dinner/do laundry/wash the dishes/chat with the significant other.
  12. Before: http://www.thecorellianleague.com/jp/psd/smuggler_1.jpg After: http://torwars.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Companion_Vid_05-500x281.jpg I guess it's a minor change, but I liked his tattoos. I suppose BioWare must've thought it's more appropriate of a farm boy to be a human than a kiffar.
  13. If any of you guys played in the beta, you might've noticed that Corso was changed to a human in one of the very last patches before the release version. Before the change I think he was a Kiffar, with dark skin and white warpaint on his face. Now he's got a paler skin and more scars but no paint. I don't think his new look was a customisation pack either, so he was changed for some specific reason. Was there a lore reason behind it, perhaps? What do you think? I played a smuggler in the beta and got quite accustomed to his looks, it's rather strange seeing him humanized.
