  1. Dear player, We welcome you to our guild's "Official Recruitment Thread" and want to help clarify any questions you may have about our guild. Below is a list of questions that have been asked in the past that may help solidify your decision to join UH if you have not done so already. Our goal: To Find, Train & Retain the finest players in the game... Our Server: The Harbinger Type: PvE/PvP Website: unknownheroes.net Vent: Yes (Not mandatory) the info can be found on our website. Below is a list of questions that have been asked in the past that may help solidify your decision to join UH. 1. Why should I join this guild? Well for many reasons, one being that it is managed by a person who has led Guilds since 2005 and understands stability and effective communication is key to being successful. That combined with guild leading experience he is also a former U.S. Marine, and a Father. He understand conflict managment, organization, proactive management techniques and how to effectivly handle a large logistical power base in an MMO game setting. If you are worried about inneffective leadership, as in many guilds, you can stop worrying when you join UH. 2. How does your Rank Structure work in Unknown Heroes? Our rank Structure info can be found by clicking the link below. It clearly defines how the rank progression works, the symbols that define the ranks as well as the reason those ranks are in effect. Click Here for more Info: http://unknownheroes.guildlaunch.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7414366&gid=215443&gid=215443"]Our Rank Structure 3. Does this guild really use this website? Yes we hope you enjoy it, we are proud to offer it to our members. It is the foundation of our communications, logistics and organizational structure. We are always looking for some more forum junkies, so c'mon by and join in! 4. Does this guild have voice chat? Yes, we currently have Ventrilo. Our voice chat information can be found on our Homepage we hope you take the time to drop in and say hello or ask any questions you may have about our guild. 5. Does this guild have an age limit? Yes, we currently do not accept any member that are or are suspected of being under the age of 15. Our members expect a certain amount of maturity, but also understand that our obligation is to provide a sound foundation for breeding leaders. Even young adults can be leaders and as such we are proud when we find a younger member that displays the capability to not only lead, but is respectable and disciplined. Age limit restrictions can be waived in such a case, or if the younger player has a parent in the guild to help manage the player. 6. Can I still join if I am not American? Absolutely!!! We welcome anyone, the default language of our voice chat is English, and if you don't speak it clearly, don't worry, as long as you try we are happy to help you learn and establish the "lingo". We have had many members from Brazil, Portugal, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Germany, Phillipines and many, many more. We are proud of our multi-cultural background and we think everyone brings something new and unique to our guild. 7. What is your guilds "Focus"? Many guilds have focused PvP, or Role Playing. In our guild, our only obligation is to "Activity". We recruit, you find who you want to play with. Overall in the past we have found that PvE non RP tends to be the norm in our guild. We do have many that are interested in PvP and as such we try to support them however we can, and think that our members should be knowladgable in PvP mechanics as well as the PvE aspects of the game. We hope while in our guild you focus on what you enjoy, we guarentee someone else will enjoy those same aspects and you can make lifelong friendships. 8. How does this guild support itself? Our guild has a concrete system of networking & recruitment to keep numbers high. We also have solid affiliates that advertise for depending on the needs and desires of our guild. Together, we help them help us. Our members are famous for thier ability to support the guild in hard times and we have never had an outage due to financial concerns. 9. Do you hold any Events? Our goal is to do a monthly gift card raffles & a yearly contest for a "Laptop or Pad Device" give away, as well as a "Get-Together" for our members to witness the laptop or pad device raffle. This is a gradual thing we are working towards, and we hope to make it a mainstay as time goes on. As for in game events, I as the guild leader do not subscribe to the "GM Leads All Events" philosophy. If you wish to do an event, we have the resources to organize and do the events easily by using our website and ventrilo combined with our large active member base almost anytime. 10. If I quit am I welcome back? Absolutely!!! Unless forecebly removed for disciplinary or other issues, we welcome everyone back. We recognize your right to make decisions best for you. We are proud to say most members who ever decide to leave eventually ask to come back. We attribute this to our family friendly and diverse culture as well as our logistical and organizational strengths. 11. Can my friends and family join too? Once again... YES!!! We encourage friends inviting friends, and as said above, our family friendly environment tends to go over well with adults that have children. Overall we welcome everyone, we hope this answers your questions and we will update this thread if we get new or relevant questions reguarding our guild. Thanks for dropping by! 12. Do you have an Empire Side guild too? No. Managing an effective guild takes time and effort. As the guild leader I feel it is unwise to split my focus. If you wish to find an empire side guild feel free, we simply ask that you at no time advertise or try to organize non guild or Empire side activities using our guild as a platform to do this. If so you will be removed. 13. Will I get kicked if I play Empire side? Absolutely not. From time to time we may removed someone for advertising non guild activities or other guilds, but only after they have been warned and they repeat the mistake. In that case they may tell you that we don't allow Empire side play. This is simply untrue and as long as you keep your Empire side play private, you will never hear anyone say anything to you. We simply ask again that you don't use our guild a platform to organize non guild or empire side activities. If you do, you will be removed.
  2. The Lag Spikes are intermittent. I run Netflix on a laptop next to my main rig, and it never cuts out even when the game is spiking, so it's NOT my connection, and I assume anyone elses either. This is on Bioware's IT's dept, and anyone who says anything else is lying.
  3. Our guild has faith that most people are good. Unfortunately you do get undesireables sometime. When this happens, this is when the full hammer of "Policy Enforcement" comes down upon them. Enforcement is swift and direct. It's not worth turning into a drama queen to deal with drama queens. Firm, Fair & Direct... Problem Solved. P.S. If you need any ideas on rules, feel free to check out our policies and procedures page, and shoot me a DM if you have any questions. It is devised to give Guild Masters wide leverage when dealing with "Problems" while still being fair to the members themselves.
  4. I recently did this arch, here are some things to know... At first glance it wasn't a problem, but once you get to her, the whole room aggro'd. I was unsure if this was a bug, or it was designed this way. On attempt 2, I cleared the whole room to prevent this from happening again. When Lord Loyat was defeated, I noticed she was not spawned to talk to. The mission says to talk to her, but I had to wait for respawn. The first time this happened, I reset the "Crystal Ball" arch and redid the storyline to make sure it was a clean arch. On the second attempt it happened yet again. I waited approximatly 10 minutes before she respawned and I was able to talk to her. Be aware, you don't need to reset the arch, but you will have to wait a substantial amount of time to talk to her after her defeat.
  5. One of the things I have been doing is making all of the "Orange" or "Green" dots. Then reverse engineering those items made. This has leveled up the skill fast, and given me a plethora of schematics. There is still some argument on what the Dots to the right mean. Theory 1 - Orange or green dots mean you can still get schematics from them. From my personal experience, this is not always the case, but has held some water in many cases. Theory 2 - Orange or green dots mean difficulty This makes sense, but after 50, and after 400 artiface, If you have 10 Orange dots, and make all ten, when you R/E the items, you get 3 schematics. Then you have a shorter list in some cases (not all). So you shortened the previous list of Oranges, and added new ones. I am unsure how to track what items you can get schematics from. There is no designation that is apparent, and it is frustrating on most occasions to waste time remaking items just to see if you can get schematics from them. How have you all solved this delimma?
  6. According to the game descriptions below is how it works if read and interpreted properly... Defense = The chance to dodge, deflect or avoid damage all together. This means "I MAY get hit at some point if luck runs out" Shield = The chance that an attack will have its damage reduced if it hits you. This means, when you get hit, you still take damage if you get hit, it's just reduced (% determined by the absorption rating you carry). In a perfect world, one would simply increase Defense to avoid needing shield period, but it's not a perfect world and you will get hit sooner or later, no matter how high your defense is. PvE or PvP, it makes no difference so prepare yourself by increasing shield and absorption and you will thank yourself. Absorption = % of damage reduced WHEN an attack is absorbed by your shield. This means, if you manage to get hit, due to your defense not being high enough, the aborption % is the determining factor as to how much damage you take when you do get hit. I hope this helps to clarify some of the confusion going on. FYI - On a personal note, I subscribe to feathering out the numbers equally in an effort to maximize effectiveness for those not to fun moments we all face eventually as a tank. A well rounded tank is the one that survives most of the time impo.
  7. I'll verify this bug. I have had the entire game client crash 3 times trying to run this FP. I have sent 3 bug reports as well. Any plans on this getting fixed? Do we know why it is happening? Has anyone completed it, and if so, what are your system specs? Is this a "Game related issue", or a "System related issue"?
  8. All good suggestions. I would like to see a "Random" encounter system placed into the game so maybe a "Bounty Hunter" attack or something when traveling between systems/worlds. Fly long enough, you get attacked. Like in FF.
  9. I'm not AGAINST it, but I am unsure how you would have it implimented. The amount of story arch progression that would have to be changed from a technical standpoint would be a mountain of new testing and QA work. If this was to happen, I would imagine you would be given a choice of 2, rather than any companion you want before they give us full access to any companion we wish.
