  1. If that was true then no abilty would be clickable and all would be bind only
  2. Actually if you had played SWG before the combat revamp you'd have an idea what other are talking about. The sandbox MMO did work it worked to well I get the feeling that you never played SWG or at least not before the combat revamp SOE did. The game was very popular before that, but a poor design choice led to mass subscription losses. Some people eventually did come back when they'd improved the revamp etc but it was never the same. Changes needed to happen the dev's said themselves just like WoW devs have commented on since. Players are a very clever and they never expected the player base to be able to craft and create what they did. So the game had to be changed but the way they did it was a bad joke imo and made the game a mess. 52 proffesions went down to around 12 and everyone could role a jedi which went against the philosophy of orginal game. The idea behind a player driven economy and world was great like player made cities etc and worked very well. Also although the items were rather overpowered upto the revamp the economy was stable and worked well. Everything you could get was player made, armour, transport, weapons, houses, guild halls etc etc In many ways I still think the pre-combat revamp game is one of the best MMO experiences I have had because you could control so many aspects of your characters game life and enviroment. The likes of WOW and SWTOR are rather watered down compared to how SWG originally was, maybe the concept was to grand but it did work for several years.
  3. Look at WOW and warriors .... they have spent 7 years changing nerfing and altering there mechanics, scaling and dps output ... and they still are doing that... So you really think after years of development and 7 years live that a class is still being altered and er balanced as they call it .... with wow that bioware could not have the same thing happen after a far shorter time? Class balancing actually begins when the game goes live realistically they can only get a good idea during testing as when its live you have 100 times the player base to see the data and evaluate the results of classes, damage etc
  4. Tbh I doubt you have played many MMO's and if you have well not very well lol if you think whine posts get results and development company don't do there own testing and just go off the players complaints .... if you truely believe that then I really do hope you find a decent single player game to enjoy. A majority of companies carry out there own evaluation and testing and run there own metrics as you call them as there the ONLY people who have access to the actual figures and accurate data ..... Trying to persuade people otherwise pure silly lol As the guy previously said .... 8-9k crits compared to 4-5 is way overpowered is should not been needed to so call "Attract" people to er healing ... lol that in itself is a daft statement. People go healers because they like healing not because they like to 2 shot ppl dps wise in an arena. I have a healer and gasp shock horror you know what I do in pvp .... yes amazingly I HEAL!!! shocking isn't it .... You really do sound like a FOTM guy who's bubble has now been burst and you back down to mere "normal" damage lvls lol
  5. There is variation I'm leveling 3 chars atm but its not an amazing amount but its 200% more variation compared to wow .... there is ZERO variation in wow's questing between classes... i have 5 85's 2 83's and 3 80-81 chars .... so I know that for a fact lol and the questing in SWTOR is 100 times more engaging and entertaining than wow imo. Hell even when new expansions are out I have zero inclination to read wow quests texts while I have found all the quests good in SWTOR the 1st time and still listen to the same ones on alts because there'a always rep and alignment variations
  6. Dunno what WoW your playing ... been playing and still am playing since launch and its never been like that lol there all still linear one quest hub points to the next etc one zone points to the next and so on ... and in cata its got even more linear infact so linear I could now draw a big "S" through the hyjal zone showing the quest progression ... it follows a single path lol. So as has been said... just like pretty much every MMO going... if it was much different questing would be a pain in the behind you;d spend more time looking for quests than doing them.
  7. Yes but if you stop and think ... for a second ... you pull aggro of a mob or 2 then the tank has to get them back ... then another mob he was tanking runs of ... all because you cannot was 3-4 seconds.... You do realise that this actually makes the fight longer than waiting 4-5 seconds before nuking..... See DPS do this all the time makes the tanks life hell and makes things take longer ... one of the reasons I stopped tanking lol I don't have the time or patience to nursemaid incompetent DPS though instances because the have zero ablilty to wait a few seconds for the tank to get control of a group he's meant to be tanking. And people wonder why as with all MMO yet again there's a lack of tanks and healers for random instances hehe
  8. Ahhh the good old lame dps excuse for playing poorly gotta love it. Try and get a little skill and actually DPS properly and don;t pull aggro and don't try and tank, you do either and you fail ... hard as dps lol
  9. Personally I'm tending to agree here very much. SWTOR is not WOW and I play a sith jugganaut, Merc, Sniper and just starting a sith assassin or scorcerer and I can say I have not noticed any issues with lack of responsiveness within how this game is intended to work. I pvp daily and same goes for that to. I think ppl are to used to WoW and expect this game to be the same or "it should" be the same. Well no it should not, I have seen the vids of what ppl are supposedly saying is the issue and its not a bug its how the game works. It had a small delay between action and casting and its not "action" delay its an action "Que" a big difference. SWG used a long action que by default, you could que 4 abilities or more in the order you wanted them to go off. SWTOR does not have such a long que but the principle is similar. With this system you CANNOT mash buttons its counter productive and you end up doing more harm than good, thats what WoW encourages and supports its not the best system at all but its what a lot of ppl are used to. What SWTOR requires is a little more awareness and thought behind what buttons you press but results can be more effective if you do. You can even lower or raise this delay in the preferences to suite. It does take a little getting used to if you have not seen it before or have only played WoW or simmilar style interfaced games. Personally I am used to it and quite like it, I have no lag and no graphics delay either but at the end of the day, its not a bug. Its a feature, one you may not like but its still not a bug There could be issues with the server side and how it responds to commands especially since a lot of prerelease servers are FULL but if it is thats a seperate issue entirely.
