  1. Really depends on your cooldowns and your spec. Carnage use gore like a mofo and all your defensive cooldowns, defensive roll is really important for all specs. Anni keep the bleeds on, then force choke to make him take them. Don't use unleash even though you really want too and focus on interupts. They aren't overly complicated classes, they don't have tricks unless they pull you into a vat of acid (in case I hope your undying rage and force camo are both up) then they shouldn't be able to do anything to you. Anni bleeds, undying rage, rakata med pack, berserk, bleeds bleeds bleeds while you get healed healed. As carnage just gore and pray you can dps him down faster then he can you. Use force camo as an interupt if he trys to get off a cast, aoe mezz interupt, disruption, and force choke, we have soo many. And if you are still dying without giving a run for your money, check your gear, recurit gear is better than any modded purple orange crap. You need expertise at 1K for any pvp. And if you are rage, your doing it wrong. The only people you should really have a issue with is snipers (if your force camo is down) and assassins/shadows. Obfuscate the sh*t outta both
  2. I leveled to 50 as a carnage mara and loved it, then I switched to Anni and that was a lot of fun too. I am basically anni now because since my server is dead I find solo'ing and queuing up for pvp alone, anni has more survivability. However, I firmly believe carnage has more time on target and more damage overall then anni. Play what you like and your sabers are fine. Hell you could equip training sabers and kill something. I think your biggest problem is that I imagine that you are on Voss now. And there are a couple of storyline line and planet quest line mobs that are impossible to take down. Saek mor or whatever his name is, is one of the hardest single player bosses to kill for any class at that level. I recommend running with Quinn, (even though I f'ing Loathe him) as carnage or going back and doing Hoth or Belsavis bonus series. I don't believe you have to go anni to beat the game. I loved carnage. I will say, learning some keybinding MADE this class for me. I used 1-6 anyways, I just got a 4 button mouse and used intelli-set Microsoft to set 2 of the buttons to ctrl and shift. Then used 1-6, shift 1-6 and ctrl 1-6. For 18 easy hotkeys. The problem with marauders in general is that we have so many things going on, its hard to get them all down. I usually lead off with obfuscate, then when that wears off, saber ward, then cloak of pain, then obfuscate again. Have your interrupt hotkeyed. At 48 til you get battlemaster gear, it becomes less how much damage can you do with your rotation and more managing your defensive cool downs. You are going to do damage no matter how bad your clicking is, but enemies can kill you a lot easier at lvl 48-50. Stick with it, use the forums, there are 2 types of marauders, awful ones, easy to kill and damn near invincible ones. I am known on my server and people don't engage me unless its 3v1 or more.
  3. Wow, there are some crazy suggestions out there. I am sure any of them work as you get the muscle memory going. I generally used wasd to move and then moved my hand up and pressed 1-6 keys to attack things. However I use a trackball and there are very few made with more than 2 buttons and a ball that is rotated with your fingers and not your thumb. If you have a naga mouse you can do this even easier, download Microsoft intelli-set (just do a google search) and bind whatever keys are comfortable to use to the shift key and the ctrl key (i stay away from the alt key) in the intelli-set program. Then arrange your hotbars to have 2 rows of 6 on top of each other, a little space in the middle, then another 2 rows of 6 on top of each other. This will allow you to bind 18 keys without having to learn nearly anything. I use 1-6 for short cooldown offensive skills and I press 1-6 on the keyboard. I use Shift 1-6 underneath for first bar for long offensive cooldowns and hold down that 1st button on the mouse and press 1-6 on my keyboard I use Crtl 1-6 on the top of the next row for my defensive cooldowns and hold down the 2nd button on the mouse and press 1-6 on my keyboard Now you have 18 hokeys with 2 buttons and 1-6 keys that you are used too. Map the rest of the naga keys as normal of any other skills you need This actually wasn't enough for me after I got used to it, so i mapped 7 through = as well for other things that I didn't need to use often and now know them by heart, but a naga would definitely make it easier
  4. I can see where any class in this game would have a hard time with pvp OR pve. I have to agree it’s a learn to play thing but I think that is a crap response for someone asking for help. I have a 50 Marauder in full BM and a 42 Jedi Sentinel I plan on getting full BM, on the same server. They are just too much fun to play, I rolled a Marauder during beta with every intention on having a Sorc as my main, but after getting to 35 in closed beta I never looked back. The thing about a marauder/sentinel is if are aren't always trying to improve yourself, give up the class. I used to use 1-6 on my keyboard and click everything else. I would say this was one of my biggest hurdles to get over. I bought a 4 button trackball (cause I am weird and like trackballs over mice) and bound two of the buttons to CTRL and SHIFT. Now, with minimal retraining I can hit 18 key binds. I set my bars up with a break in slot 7. 1-6 short cool down offensive skills like assault, battering assault, vicious slash, annihilation, rupture and vicious throw. 8-12 defensive skills Cloak of pain, saber ward, undying rage, medpack, and relic and adrenal. Row two underneath row one 1-6 longer cool down utility skills like force jump, deadly sabers, disruption, and ravage. This is just to demonstrate I know where my skills are and what keys they are from memory, you can set whatever up you want as long as you know what button to hit to do what you want without having to look at your screen. The other BIG tip I can give you and to learn your rotation for whatever spec you are and then learn your priority. People will say do this, then this, then this. But only through playing will you learn. Example, when you have someone under 20% health its more important to use deadly throw for the 20% healing debuff than hit vicious throw, with trauma already in effect you can kill that target no matter who is healing him. Although if a healer is up you are doing your job wrong. Anytime you go 1v1 with melee character use obfuscate. Hell I use it in pve now that I know it rocks, basically is like a second saber ward. Choose to use your force camo for fight or flight. Don’t waste it on flight unless you are sure you can get away, better to pop it, finish off a healer and die then run away and let him reheal everyone. Use your interrupts, we have sooooo many. Force jump, disruption, aoe mezz, force choke. force camo is to a point, it can interrupt a offensive skill like snipe.
  5. See these arguments make perfect sense, see they had the vendor out there before the plague started or "The Event" so it stands to reason to leave him behind after "The Event" ended. I don't even mind people asking them to bring back the vendor, I just find it absolutely INSANE that people think that something that was introduced in an event would stick around AFTER the event.
  6. Wait, let me in on some of this,,,,,,,,,,,I want them to bring back the SPEEDER VENDORS, I didn't have enough money for the Korralis Baron but now I do and ITS NOT FAIR
  7. I usually try not to troll or treat others with less respect than I would like myself, but the argument of I didn't know this because I didn't get on the forums, so I am going to make a post ON the forums about not knowing this and being pissed off is a piss poor excuse. Tired of soooo many people trashing Bioware. I was less than impressed by ME3 ending, I have seen our population dropping on my server, but honestly, they are all still GREAT games, there is a reason that I no longer play WoW. I don't get to chop things up with LIGHTSABERS.
  8. When you say they didn't make is clear, you mean you couldn't read the sticky they had in the main forums stating that the event was going to end? Hell, I read a quest guide that stated if I wanted to get all the containment armor peices I had to have started doing them by Apr 19 to get all of them before they ended the event.
  9. Thinking of actually synthweaving a battlemaster set of IA gear and switching out mods, too bad there is literally no decent pair of moddable boots that don't look gay. Marauder Battlemaster isnt that awful but wish I didnt have the stakes on the shoulders, I really liked Thana Vesh? I think it was when we were racing on Taris? She had some great gear all black, no gay spikes. Jedi Sent actually have awesome gear, the Aspiring Vest, makes me want to only play her.
  10. Its like we picked up all the 12 year olds from WoW and lost the adults. You guys complain about EVERYTHING. Its 14.99 a month, thats McDonalds for one meal out of 90. If you can't swing it you should be playing free games. I got the 30 days and sure it was nice, but I wouldn't be blowing up over NOT getting it. I have 4 co-workers who play and none of them have gotten to 50 yet. FYI, I don't think its a 50 thing, I think its who helped give them feedback that they can use to make the game better. Have you done any Hard FP, or OPS, given forum feedback, gotten on the test server to help preview the 1.2 patch, or PVP past valor 10? I wasted HOURS of time in Hard EV trying to time the colums correctly to get past that point. Now they have changed it so the next groups that get there do not have the same problems. Don't tell me that they should have tested more to get rid of bugs, it wasnt that long ago that everyone was ************ about when is the release date, i have been waiting forever! For what they have done with this game, in the amount of time they have taken to do it is amazing. WoW had rollbacks, WoW had downtime that was unexpected and lasted for hours or DAYS and that was after 3 YEARS, this game is still only 5 months old. And the amount of features they have fixed and released due to US ASKING FOR THEM is INSANE. You want dual spec, we working on it, you want more space missions, on it. You want a better UI, here you go. You want to romance same sex relationships, give us til summer. Read the forums, I knew the tier bonus didn't move over with armoring mod, its only on the new armor that you can do that. Relax people, go play Skyrim for 6 hours.
  11. Couple of things, Don’t get hung up on one spec, used to be carnage and loved it, will probably be going back in 1.2 because they buffed it and carnage with short fuse (which they moved to tier 1 of Anni tree) is going to own. Rage is fun too, it’s all about what you are doing, you say you are only going to pvp, pvp alone? in a group? As support? Carnage has a ranged root which will make or break a huttball match when they are 4 feet from scoring a goal. Been Annihilation for about 2 months after playing Carnage for about 3. Pvp tip, get biochem, pop undying rage + rakata med pack afterwards then frenzy (if you don’t have the fury) than berserk, then dot them up with bleeds and you will literally be able to go 3v1. All the advice on here is subjective. This is my build http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bIrRroMcGzZhMMZh.1/ Honestly everyone has a point, but here are some other things to think about. I kill 1 to 2 healers per 6 to 7 other people in a WZ and healers are the only one with cleanse. So seeping wound is a no brainer, then healers only cleanse half the time. Also, this allows me to force charge + deadly sabers in air + rupture + battering assault + annihilation. If you have to weave in an additional snare you will have to throw another assault in there somewhere for rage. That’s another second taken away from maxing your dps by using the most powerful strike up front. After that initial burst, I follow with ravage and usually deadly throw if their are low enough. Subjugation is all about how good you are, you aren’t fighting only healers, and you have wayyyy more than one interrupt, you have force choke, force charge, and aoe fear, with disruption. 2 points is not worth 2 secs, learn to manage your cool downs and interrupt with everything you have. Another popular comment is don’t take 2/2 close quarters because you can strafe away and then leap. Not worth the hassle of 1 point. Make force charge 0 meters and it becomes another interrupt. Doesn't matter pvp or pve, you take defensive roll, holy balls its THIRTY PERCENT damage reduction (btw, most classes AOES are the most powerful damage the class has, that’s why the cool down on them is usually 1 min or more). Malice 3/3 increase your bleeds, to NOT get this is stuipd too. Phantom is great, for welll.... i dunno, i use force camo as an interrupt for them. I either am using it to close distance without getting targeting by range before I can use force charge or using it to run away, or using it to force them to drop targeting on me, just to immediately pop up in front of them again and finish them off. (this happens 50% of the time and its a real F U) Nothing sucks worse then lining up a rotation just to have your target drop then reappear and have to retarget them before you can start it up again vs I have you targeted the whole time. If you can tell me when you need to have 100 damage reduced in any of these instances let me know. Although its all a moot point, its going away in 1.2 The only thing I can really teach you is to use your resources, forums, learn key bindings, too play a marauder bad *** you have to be smart and want to play them better, then it will come with practice.
  12. The slave outfit can be bought with social point rank 2 on nar shaddar, its not hard to get S2, maybe 5 runs though BT, just take some newb and blast through there will 4 people. You can take off the slave collar but HAVE to put it back on before the conv is over or its off forever
  13. You can romance Pierce, you just have to get his affection up high enough and not have started a relationship with Quinn yet, flirting is ok
  14. My character is female so it sucks I cant romance Jasea, but that doesnt stop me from buying columi armor, removing the mods and sticking them in her slave girls outfit. Since I play a Anni Mara the two us can wreck someones day. Back to Vette, she gets her daily shock from me and likes it! Sometimes I swtich things up and take it off, and then she has an outburst when I put it back on her. why CANT you have -10000 affection with someone? She has a shock collar on for a reason. Where does it stop if I let her off the hook, NOT killing enemies so they can reappear later as Cyborgs? Forget THAT
  15. I dont even find them threating, they, like us are melee classes, no slows, no kiting. A stun and a suprise attack cannot compete with Undying range + frenzy + berserk + deadly sabers + rupture + annihilation. I have never fallen to a assassin in a straight 1v1 fight. The only class that is a threat to me 1v1 is a very well played operator with all of his CD's up. As they bleed to death I get healed, ALOT. Now carnage and rage? Maybe more diffcult, but thats all is using your defensive CD's more level headedly.
  16. Depends what sec you are and whether you can stand healing yourself after every battle, i was carnage and needed quinn for heals and could chain pull mobs all day. At 50 I have specced out Jaesa in full cent gear and am anni, so we massacre anything in front of us and Anni keeps us healed pretty damn well. But I am in all columi/rakatta so my bleed crits are amazing. I'd go with who you like the most, and I like my Jaesa in her slave outfit
  17. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#1000cZGGMbddrorsZG.1 Is the build I use as Carnage, if your going strictly for pvp, then sure, maybe you switch some specs, but this is the most balanced pvp/pve build you can use. Enraged charge is really not needed, if you ever have 0 rage at any point, you arent using your rotation correctly, you should never be without rage. Cloak of Carnage turns you into a rage battery as well and should be up almost 50% of the time in pve, and quite a good bit in pvp. Narrow hatred is a must because your Atrau procs and offhand damage have a much better chance to hit with > 100% acc. Malice is a must because it increase your Atrau proc damage. Quick recovery is imo a waste of points because as Carnage you should not be wasting rage on smash or sweeping slash unless you are trying to flush out someone who just slealthed or force camo'ed. And unbound is completely worthless because it doesnt break you from stuns, only movement imparing effects. With a 15% faster run speed, force camo, Predation, and the stun break skill (forget the name right now) you have more than enough tools to muscle though snares. Undying rage, health pack, saber ward, Cloak of pain, force jump to distant target should get you further than almost any other class without Unbound needed. In pve dont forgot that with displacement a saber throw will allow a savage kick on anyone lower than an elite.
  18. This is really funny, i just specced anni after leveling up and playing nothing but carnage since the beginning. I actually tried it once before but didnt give it a proper chance, I must say, I now fully see the benfits of both specs fully. I have been anni for about 3 days now and just learned all of my custom key binds and its pretty awesome. I love the healing and didnt realize how unblievable much you can get healed. I solo 2 man with Jaesa now, she is in full tinoese and I am in columi and i bearely have to stop. Plus the undying rage + rakata medpack + berserk will absoultely ruin anyones day in pvp. That being said, here is the downside. I play EV and KP as my raids go to damage dealer, anni can do awesome damage, but its not instant. If i have to refocus on a mind trap its WAYYYYY slower than when I was carnage. I usually would keep gore and ravage ready and BOOM, dead mind trap, but building up the dots take a little bit. Its also a hellva rage hungry spec but great fury, carnage is the opposite. Drop enraged charge, you get craploads of rage from CoP and Cloak of Carnage. Overwhelm absoultely wrecks someone, even in a 1v1, unless thier resolve bar is full, a gore + ravage = 50% heavy armor user in an opener. It doesnt always work granted but its well worth it. Also in pve displacement allows you to savage kick a silver and lower, with a vicious throw. it also rocks in pvp. I really miss the mobility and the constant 15% run speed in carnage.
  19. This really should be in the class storyline thread with spoiler tags, however, I wish honestly they had given me a chance to permently pay him back, no one pulls that **** on me, I'd rather be short a man than have to accept him back. I specced anni from carnage simply for the self heals, cause i will use medpacks before ever letting him do anything other than run lvl 1 crew skills, suck it QUINN
  20. I loathe Quinn, especially after our class storyline, but as carnage, unless you are really good, he is very useful. If you plan on using a different companion and you are not Biochem, (a reusable heal every 90sec is Godlike) then you are going to have to master not just carnage, but playing a marauder in general. Every fight will be a dps race. In pve never underestamate the power of force jump, savage kick on a weak - strong mob, and force scream, pommel stirke. Rotation depends on what you are juming into, if its two normals and a strong, it would be force jump, savage kick, battering assualt if not already dead. Force scream, pommel strike, massarce if not already dead. Then turn to elite and ravage, then pick up a battering assualt, massacre, force scream, massacre. Here is how to not get destroyed though, force jump in and lead off with obfuscate, 1 min CD, no damage from a single target for 6 sec, activate cloak of pain when that wears off, use your interupts as often as possible against skill high damage skills. Saber ward if needed, back to obfuscate, if you drop below 30% use force camo and let your companion start taking aggro cause your dps should probably mean that all mobs will be on you. If you companion gets low, you can use passive skill to make companions dps slack off and the mob will turn back to you if it hasnt already, and then there is undying rage if needed. Dont underestimate Obfuscate and your defensive CDs, on a long fight you should be able to use them all mutliple times. Dps, I basically spam Battering assualt and massarce, with force scream and gore whenever they are up, although I'd save gore and ravage and use them together whenever possible.
  21. Also with pve, getting displacement owns, it allows you to throw then savage kick any silver for a nice free rage chuck of health. I usually force leap, savage kick = dead normal mob, turn and force scream, pommel strike = second dead normal mob in under a second and then start on a silver or gold or whatever and spam battering assualt and massarce, until savage kick is up again, then its saber throw, savage kick. In pvp displacement is insane for someone trying to cross a flame square in huttball or that last 3 feet before the goal line, stopping them dead to get the kill at the last second. Or lining up another force charge to stop them again. With the passive 15% faster run speed I am never out of beating on you range, even if you slow me, i usually am still on your *** beating you. Also you asked about the ravage root. Yes, it works amazing, maybe not 1v1 if they can interupt you, but in a group when its hard to single someone out, I can gore, ravage all day for half thier life as long as they arent guarded or have a shield up, to see a tank with heavy armor go WTH just happened is awesome. The only time I have had problems with ravage not rooting is with RESOLVE and NO ONE takes this into factor. Once someones resolve bar is full you might as well run back to center to grab the ball after they score a point.
  22. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#1000cZGGMbddrorsZG.1/ This is the carnage spec i use, I will not lie, i often find myself thinking of switching to Anni for the self heals, because due to our storyline I refuse to take Quinn on anything other than running ***** crewskills level 1. I leveled as carnage and use it for pvp and pve endgame, been through Hard Mode EV and KP with her and am reversed a spot in my guild because my dps is proven. I can pull between 150K and 350K damage in a WZ, depending a lot of things, surely as anyone else. Did I queue alone, is there a healer, am I going after damage or objectives, am I defending a tower or staying with the group. But overall, I am pretty happy with my build in pvp, just hit Valor level 44 and starting to get bored now that I have full columi gear with some rakatta, hence the thinking about going anni to change things up. But generally I love my spec, I'd say that carnage is the most rage friendly spec with Battering Assualt on a shorter CD you never have to really use assualt to build rage, however it takes forever to build fury, I found Anni is pretty much the opposite. Once you kick in Bresek though and start spamming Massarce you can destroy whatever is in front of you immediately.
  23. Why would romancing Vette even be an option? Unless you removed her shock collar.........then, GO PLAY REPUBLIC lightside puke. Vette gets her daily shock from my lvl 50, its the way its always been and will always be. She is a slave and dont forget it. If she doesnt want to help me fine, she will get shocked for it. Even better to have Jesea shock the S*** outta her.
  24. Or possibly keep Empowerment and lose the saber strength, but keep obliterate over annihilation. Dont get me wrong, I think Annihilation is great, but once you get to 3 stacks its almost too much rage to blow every time its ready. If you used Obliterate, you could still have a hard hitting skill and devote more of your rage to deadly saber, sweeping strike, rupture, but as I said, i do not know anni as well as carnage
