  1. I came back to this game after nearly 6 months of inactivity. I re-subbed and LOVED the changed to ops and group finder, I am no longer playing pvp everyday to get gear anymore, I exclusively do ops now. I understand your need to fix undying rage for its abuse in pvp, however, as someone who parses his damage, switches mods and enhancements out, and collects every datacron to provide the absolute most dps I can to my ops group, this is going to get me killed. I don’t run with vent or teamspeak and am glad I don’t have to. (I loathed how WoW added a voice chat within the game and suddenly I can’t just play, I have to talk to be able to come along for ops.) So without being able to tell my healers to get ready for me to die, I can’t confidently do as much damage as possible in Nightmare Mode Ops. This is going to make this skill useless for me. I have a long track record of pulling aggro of some less than geared tanks, even my ops tanks sometimes. But I always have undying rage + a medpack to make my healers not have to crap their pants when I tankuder. I ALSO cannot count the amount of times I have been 1 of 3 people left alive and that skill has allowed me to tank the boss as the last 1% of his health goes down. Can’t you make it that it only prevents 50% in pvp and 99% in pve? There are a lot of skills that change effect within pvp. Or make it with a 5 min cooldown and no health penalty? I don’t care, I don’t use it often, but when I do, its life or death of the raid.
  2. Just enjoy your class, I play marauder cause they are awesome, WE GET TWO LIGHTSABERS! Sure its great I have tons of dps to bring to ops, but I bring it as carnage. I think any class in this game right now is capable of nearly anything if the player is concerned with reading guides, parsing numbers, learning rotations and priorities and hotkeying their skills. All dps is within 5% of each other supposedly, Anyways, whatever will happen will happen, ESO is coming out soon, so is X-Rebirth, so is space battles, so is the PS4, so is XBOX One, we'll live, we play cause its fun, not to go insane on forums.
  3. I have always been interested in that sabe as well. Its funny, I rolled marauder AND a sentinel because it was the only way to get the sabers, aspiring knights vest, and animations of annihilate and master strike that I wanted. Unforunately, no, the dread gaurd main hand is the only way, time to hit nightmare mode..... But now I have a 55 knight and a warrior..
  4. I will not presume to say you don’t know how to play your class, but since you asked in a way that makes it hard to answer you without sounding like I am talking down to you it will be hard. But I’m not trying too. You should be able to do more than on a boss then a dummy, because even AOE will proc cloak of pain and that will be extra damage going to your target. Since you are 55 but have not told us your stats I will cover what you should be running as a carnage mara. At minimum 100 acc or you will be missing a lot of your hits. Hopefully you have finished Oricon and gotten at least all 66 gear so your strength should be 2600+. So that leaves getting as much power and surge after that as possible. (Ideally around 1000+ power and 72+ surge.) MK-9 kits with 66 augments really shows that you are serious to others, even though I know it’s pricey. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bcZhGMRRrorMIRZf.3 This is the build I run, but I am strictly running ops. If I was going to pvp, I change it a bit, but not much. My personal priority is Force Leap + Gore + Ravage + Force Scream, Battering Assault, Massacre, Assault, hopefully procs execute, and then Gore + Massacre x 2, Force Scream. Don’t get bogged down waiting for procs. A non crit force scream within a gore window is better than a crit outside of it, just throw in massacres and hope for the best. I don’t have time in most ops to sit and watch my proc bar, it’s usually always does it, sometimes it does and it sucks, but that’s chance for you. The two most important things as a carnage marauder is 1: NEVER let a gore sit unused, as soon as cooldown is off, it should be back up or it’s a huge dps waste, even if you are forced to fill it with dual saber throw or god forbid assault (yes, sometimes it happens in ops that have you running in and out a lot.) and 2: Never use ravage unless you have a gore window ready. It’s a HUGE dps loss. Otherwise scream, vicious throw, and massacre as often as your rage will allow, just remember to be ready with full rage when gore is about to come up again. Sometimes your rotation can off a little but it’s not worth letting stuff sit unused to line it back up. It will eventually get lined back up. EDIT: Also there are two dummys you can buy for your ship, one is a training dummy and one is an operations dummy, the operations dummy has a much large defense to it, so you may be on the wrong one, there is an ops dummy on the fleet you can try too. Also, yes, its a waste for marauders to be on adds. (like TC adds) Melee dps should not be chasing things. If your ops leader has you assigned too, find a different group, We can half assed TANK for crying out loud if all of our defensive cooldowns are up. I have killed the last 4% of many a ops boss tanking it with undying rage as one of the last couple of people up. Now, if its melee add and they need you to half tank it, sure, but in that case all dps should be on the add along with you. (like enraged jealous male)
  5. If you are 34, you should be stomping everything around you. Buy completely moddable armor, and use your planetary comms to buy armoring and mods as high as your level. If you are going to play annihilation you should be using this spec http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bIrRroMc.3 Get to top of tree first before investing any points in combat or rage, then branch out to other trees. Force leap + deadly sabers in the air towards target, rupture, assault or battering assault. Make sure you are using deadly sabers as soon as it comes off cool down, if there are a lot of mobs, remember to AOE sweep slash and spread deadly sabers bleeding to everyone + smash. Keep cloak of pain up as much as possible. And use berserk, when using berserk + deadly sabers + rupture you will get healed almost 1/3 your health. DO NOT refresh rupture, wait for it to fall off and reapply. It’s a major dps waste to refresh. You should have assault, battering assault, vicious slash, rupture, (annihilate when you get it), retaliation, and vicious throw, pretty much in a priority of deadly sabers + rupture, vicious slash, battering assault, and assault, and retaliation when it procs. When I say priority I mean whenever one in that order is off cooldown use it first in the order that I stated (apologies, but I don't know how long you have played MMO's) If it was me, i'd run with a dps companion too. EDIT: Oh, also you want to keeping force leaping at 0 meters into your enemy for rage generation whenever it's off cooldown, one of the things I miss most about anni spec.
  6. No, but prior to the new talents, gore would not be up between screams so you could have one with gore up and one without it. And execute is great and I take the time to massacre in a gore window between screaming to try and guarantee it. However if ravage + vicious throw + twin saber throw are all on cooldown and a gore window hits. I gore massacre scream. I am not staring at all my proc's 100% of battle, usually in raids there are a lot of other mechanics in play. And there is a small chance that execute just doesn't proc. But a non crit scream in a gore window, trumps a proc'ed scream outside of a gore window I believe. Also if you get into the habit of using scream outside of a gore window waiting for an execute proc, it’s a slippery slope of screwing up your window of priorities. Its also in your best dps interest to be ready to use gore every time its up as soon as its up.
  7. Carnage marauders used to need at least 25% crit with all the offhand proc's. But now that Massacre can finish the cool down on Gore and Scream you basically have double the Gore windows and guaranteed crits of Scream it’s not as necessary. Basically carnage has (still IMO the most fun to play) a priority system rather than a rotation like rage and annihilation. And now that priority has 10 secs of basic attacks building rage and 10 secs of crazy insane guaranteed crit windows. Coming back to the game after 6 months; where when I left it I was at the top of the game, I had to relearn carnage. At first I bucked against the need to not have crit but I have come to realize it’s almost unless with the new talents. After you get accuracy to 100% so you don’t miss with all the white damage, you want to stack strength and power so EVERY hit, hits HARD. Then get surge to 75% so when you do use your guaranteed crits, they hit even HARDER. Yes, it would be great to have all your main hand and offhand hits proc’ing crits. But the amount of damage in those 10 secs of building rage will never compete with the damage of 10 secs of 100% armor penetration + 75% stronger + 900 extra power double scream + ravage. Basically our dps should be around 2900 per SECOND. However, its makeup is 30% for 10 secs and 70% for 10 secs. Remember when stacking stats though 1 power = 1 power, whereas 1 strength = .9 power AND adds to crit + surge + force power + accuracy. I might have less power but my overall stats are generally higher than marauders that stack power over strength. My current strength is 3200. Just my opinions, don't flames and force me to delete this...............again.
  8. Here is a link to what I am running, http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/f2327f93-bcd9-4221-9b45-ad866e47ffb2 I just realized that my acc got way down along the way. Going to swap out some acute and proficient enchancements. Also, site doesn't let me select the new 78 mods that I have on my feet. I'll probably drop some crit for some more acc.
  9. Anything should should dps things faster than a player character tank. I feel your pain, my alt is a healer and it sucks. But marauders should absoultely destroy everything around you while you are on one enemy. I run Oricon with my tank friend and he just stands there bumping chests with his mob, watching his total enemies defeated rise while I do my thing. I DO always have to heal afterwards though.
  10. Jaesa works great for carnage too, because once grouped up a Gore + Dual Saber Throws + Smash = over 10K Aoe damage
  11. Well it all depends; in pvp, accuracy is not needed for any tree. You don't miss on players the same level as you. Annihilation, crit to 25%, surge to 75% rest in power Carnage, power as high as you can get it, surge to 75% (in pve acc to 100% first, then power and surge) Rage, I don't know, its not a real tree. I hate that a shared tree has become one of the most used (with good reason) but I don't plan on learning it. I have heard that it’s actually now the strongest for pvp AND pve in some cases. But I like the utility of carnage and raid wide predation or the heals of anni in solo play so I have never really given rage much time. If you reall learn your tree and stack stats for it and learn your priority, then dps is all within 5% of each other. That is why i like carnage, i might be ever so slightly less but I got more tricks.
  12. I think i can craft those on my server (Harbringer) as a orange moddable. Send me a direct message if you are on that server and I will craft. If it's not those its one that has the same model if thats what you are after.
  13. Actually, anni is still fine, most of the gear now has stats for acc and power, and as anni you need a good crit rate 25% before buffs. Thats really hard to stack, but if you do anni can still put up huge numbers. Per say, carnage isn't that awesome either, its 10 secs of great burst with 10 secs of doing nothing. 20 secs is a long time to live solo, so you have to stay in a group. Everyone is using rage now for pvp, and actually some pve which is sad to me I don't think a shared tree of any class should be used as a primary tree unless you are a tank, say going for damage to solo.
  14. Just an update, I was having a hell of a time in Oricon, marauders (even with 72, 78 and mostly 69 gear) are just a little flimsy to handle the group size of most mobs there. So much damage coming in without an aoe attack that stuns normal’s (see force storm = sorc easy mode). After I made my post, I put Jaesa in 66 gear. Every boss that I was having trouble with dies before I have to worry about interrupting now. Side note: I did bite the bullet and buy Treek from the cartel, I am a little disappointed in the fact that there is no quest or anything, you just get him. However he comes with fully moddable orange gear, however it is filled with level TEN MODS. I spent 1mil credits to have to BUY MORE GEAR! So it will be a while before I get around to gearing him up. His skills look awesome though, tanking + healing = little damage + great utility. The way I got him though makes me respect HK-51s' crap I had to go through more.
  15. I am glad this topic is being brought up with the implementation of Oricon, since it rewards you with artifact gear with 66 mods the price of everything has dropped dramatically; I can't decide which companion to buy a full set of gear for. Everyone likes Quinn but due to his storyline, I refuse to play him, also I am female and constantly am losing affection point every time we talk, cause you know, screw that guy. That leaves the rest. I was forced to use Vette for so long in the beginning I don't really like her whining either. I'd rather use HK but I haven't unlocked him on my Imperial side yet. Treek sounds pretty cool but I am at legacy 35 so that's going to be a able unless I want to drop 1.5 mil on a cartel GTN contract. So that leaves Pierce, Jaesa and Broonmark available based on my "principles". I can say playing full dark and getting (I am sorry, but spoilers on a 2 year old story is getting a little ridiculous) is immensely satisfying. Never used Pierce, seems like he might be good if you gave him decent tank gear. Used Broonmark, he didn’t have the greatest gear and took as much damage as I did with a dps companion. And that leaves Jaesa. I didn’t realize until I started writing this that I know what companion is the best and the reasons for it. In any battle I can absolutely depend on Jaesa holding her own and taking down enemies while I deal with trash, and I mean Gold Elites too. Quinn can’t heal me enough to warrant using him, I tried him out with decent gear in Oricon and I still had to heal myself after every fight. At least with Jaesa everything will go down faster. Also, you learn to use your defensive cooldowns which in turn help build rage. (I don’t know if you know this, but marauders have 2 skills that generate rage when attacked) So yea, thanks for making me type this out, my slave girl is going to get some love tonight after fumbling around in the dark with other companions I shelved long ago for good reasons. I blitzed through leveling for that matter, even 50 to 55 on Makneb in ONE weekend with Jaesa. Screw you Quinn, get off of my bridge, go clean out the engine room.
  16. I had this same problem going from IOS5 to 6, any major update screws up the internal counter on the app. Fortunately, it’s a lot easier to fix now than a year ago. Just delete the app and re-download it, then try to login without inputting a security key and they will give you the steps and links to deactivate your mobile security key. Then you can re-add it. Pain in the ***, yes, but takes about 4 mins and you are up and running again.
  17. Easy, if you can heal yourself, even if you are not playing a healing role while IN COMBAT, pick whatever you want. If you can't heal at all, pick Biochem. Its a game changer to have reusable health packs.
  18. Mine is up to 1 hr 55 mins in queue, and I am a sub, I have 6 toons on jung ma, even with the resurgance I can't stand low pop servers, so I am COMPLETELY starting over again, lvl 2 legacy from 31. And now THIS!
  19. I don't how far you have gotten, I have a 50 marauder and a 50 sentinel (yes I love the class that much), stack strength and accu. And while you lvl go annihilation tree so you can semi-heal yourself with your burns, I played through the game with my marauder as carnage with a healer and it was okay. When I leveled my sentinel though I went watchman (anni) and used a dps toon. I DECIMATED targets, I usually had to heal in between some fights, but not many, now with us being able to gain double rage you will be able to use berserk more often and heal yourself much easier. Also, even if you decide to go lightside in the end, make sure you play through dark side and get jaesa to fall, it’s so much more satisfying to have her as a disciple in love with you. For pvp, defense juggs, well, there is a crap load to learn about pvp, we are glass cannons with limited invincibility. If your CD's are down you better dish out the dps or have a medpac, if they are up you have to decide if you are going to use them to finish him off or run away. More than any gear or any cooldowns, the deciding factor when it comes to marauders in pvp is your skill, we are unqiue in our playstyle. I know 50% of marauders never lvl past 32 cause it gets too hard, and 50% of lvl 50s in pvp are 2 hit kills, I will never fall to another mara in pvp. It all keybindings and using our cc's effectively. We have like 4 interupts, its crazy
  20. If your a decent player you should be able to rock out Traditional Nylite Vest, it has a hood and looks pretty BA, but its light armor. I generally wouldn't recommend it but while lvl'ing it should be fine til you can get to cooler looking gear endgame.
  21. Let me get this straight, you create a post in the marauder/sentinel forums telling all marauders and sentinels to "leave this thread" and then complain we are too "overpowered". Then b*tch about how you are going to leave the game if we are not nerfed. Not in customer service or gameplay or the discussion thread, you choose to make your statement and threat in here. I will even agree that marauders/sentinels are overpowered in the hands of someone who reads the forums, mods their gear out for strength and power, chooses the right spec, picks their battles, uses keybinds, and uses their cool downs intelligently. But for every one of those players, there are 15 marauder/sentinels that are click players, blow their cooldowns and decide a 3v1 fight in the middle of a field without trying to save an objective is the way to go. And this isn't limited to maras/sents. I have come against every class that can top the dps charts, snipers, ops, bounty hunters, and sorcs. If you haven't seen good players beat out maras/sents you haven't played enough pvp. We aren't always the winners. We have ZERO displacement skills, we can push or pull. When I pick up a huttball, i go where sorcs and juggs and BH push/pull me. While on the subject of pvp, since you are so quick to complain and threaten to quit (mind you in the completely wrong forum for anyone to care) why don’t you roll a pve server and NOT play pvp since you seem to suck at it. I didn't QQ in tthe ops forums when they pop up, knocked me down and ***** me. The truth is we can go down in 4 secs if aren't defensive cooldowns are not up, L2P, or quit, you will not be missed. Damint, did I fall for a troll again? Well played Sir, well played.
  22. The problem with most classes, especially the powertech and sniper, they can burst hard but will be overheated to do anything after that. Force camo'ing just allows them time to dump heat, Obfuscate, and when you hit 50% drop undying rage and then rakata med pack. They will blow through their heat and then you can make a comeback. Same tactic as when you fighting an assassin/shadow. If you wait for less then 50% you will drop too quickly to get your undying rage off. Save your unleash for being able to break and hit undying. Great thing about anni is you can live just due to your heals, don't be afraid to hit frenzy so you can berserk for healing.
