  1. Overpowered class gets nerfed and people unsub. More 1.2 News at 6! Coming up: GUNSLINGER SIGHTING! The first level 50 Gunslinger to be sighted since February was seen in a Nar Shadaa cantina playing Russian Roulette with himself.
  2. Yeah if you're running 3 sorc healers and a Jugg tank.
  3. Doing damage and getting kills is essential in every WZ except the odd case of forcing respawns on a ball carrier about to score. You will never win a WZ if you can't kill anything. And no, mercs, sorcs, and operatives do not out damage snipers and gunslingers. Not by a long shot. And if they are, you're GS or sniper is terrible.
  4. By useless gear and vender it for credits. That's all you can do.
  5. Yes, please continue to reroll while I blow everyone out of the water in damage every single warzone.
  6. I think classes need to have their abilities types adjusted to be more consistent like Gunslingers and Snipers. For instance Grav Round/Tracer missile should be a ranged attack and thereby subject to mitigation. As well as many other Trooper/Bounty Hunter abilities. Too many are considered Tech damage. Force attacks need to be able to be resisted more by defense across the board. They don't need to be subject to block or parry or anything like that, just a flat resist chance that is increased with increased defense.
  7. With full cd's 1v1. Powertechs and Vanguards are unbeatable.
  8. All the classes in the game are self-sufficient. Some are simply better at the solo pvp game than others. If you think Marauder is as self sustaining and non healer reliant than say an Assasin, Operative, Powertech or Merc, than you are sadly mistaken.
  9. Yeah, it was kind of a low blow for Bioware to just decide to focus people on getting away from Ilum instead of tightening up and just fixing the place. It could be a really cool zone if they just fixed the absurd slideshow server lag when you have full ops going against each other, and actually put in objectives that mattered.
  10. I would NOT try out a marauder if you don't like being reliant on having a healer at your back.
  11. So you go into WZ's looking for 1v1's? Me = confused
  12. That's not a bad spec I might try that out. Any thoughts on full tank tree for PvP leveling? Or at least not going up to overhead slash? I find myself sitting in Soresu and playing defensive for my team mates more often than I find myself trying to pump out damage. I'm not high enough level to get up into the tree that high yet though, and maybe the upper tiers of defense aren't so good or something, that's why I'm asking you guys
  13. Hello Guardians. Basically I'm looking for some recommendations from you all on leveling. I'd like to know what spec everyone thinks is the overall best spec for leveling and with what companions. For the majority of my leveling I plan on doing pretty much straight PvP and class quests. I don't plan on doing many flashpoints or many side quests or any of the bonus series at all. So with that in mind what would you all recommend and why? So far I had been going up the Vigilance tree, but I end up going into Soresu form a lot anyway for guarding in WZ's.
  14. Obviously there are no meters. But there are ways of testing dmg. You can't track exact numbers and all that, but all you need is a good ol fashion stopwatch and something to beat on for a while. 4th boss in EV for example, you can solo the mob and time your dmg without aggro'ing the other mobs. And about the PvP thing. Obviously PvP you can top meters all the time, or end up getting screwed if you get focued a whole match and not left alone. So those numbers can be varied, but generally as GS I'm practically always top dmg by quite a substantial margin. Consistency is usually a pretty telling factor. And for you saying that other classes have better dmg. You aren't doing it right. Sentinel and Commando aren't far behind, but that's the way it's supposed to be. No one class should be ridiculously higher than the others. From my experience Sharpshooter dmg is lower than DF from what I've tested, if that makes a difference to anyone.
  15. In full Rakata gear as full DF spec, I out dmg everyone. No if ands or buts. That includes our sentinel, sage, and commando in equivalent gear. If you aren't putting out higher dmg than everyone else, you are either undergeared, or are not playing optimally.
  16. Rolling into cover and dropping portable cover have animation times. To my knowledge no other AC has to stop in place for a second before they can start casting. The animation time is very minimal, but it is there.
  17. Gunslinger dmg/dps IS the highest out of all the AC's. I don't see a problem here. Sentinels/marauders can do respectable dmg as well, but their melee requirement causes them to lose out overall from fight mechanic restrictions and otherwise movement impairing scenarios where being a ranged class takes a full advantage. We are the glass cannons of this game, not sorcs/sages.
  18. I'm not saying gunslingers aren't good, but the charge burst/snipe spam success doesn't last. Enjoy hitting 1 button and killing everyone while you can though No really, I wish I could still do that :l
  19. The dps relics that drop from the 4th bos in Karaggas are probably the best atm if you can get your hands on them. The matrix cube relic is your best bet otherwise.
  20. Voidstar 1337,000 I like to put up random numbers too
  21. I'm siting at about 35% crit and 67% surge unbuffed. With raid buffs and stims I'm slightly over 40% crit. With Black Market Mods talents my DoTs have about a 53% chance to crit each tick, so the energy regen from fighting spirit is pretty good. Even better during AoE. You could probably get much higher, but most of the PvE gear comes with loads of accuracy, which is needed for raiding. I'm in practically full Rakata gear though.
  22. I'm raiding as full DF atm, and my guild is doing nightmare modes. The energy control is more difficult, and doesn't let you spam as much as Sharpshooter for instance, but if your crit is good enough, and you manage your energy and cooldonws well during burst phases, you can put out extremely high dmg numbers as well as retaining mobility for encounters that require it where other builds fall short.
  23. Every DF build should be picking up Independent Anarchy from the 2nd tier in the Saboteur tree. This increases the dmg of Sab Charge and your Shrap Bomb by 15%, as well as all of your other AoE abilities. If you are dps'ing as DF, Sab charge is your priority number 1 energy dump filler when you have DoTs on target and wounding shots is on cd. Yes, even before speed shot. It does better damage per energy and is instant, unlike the channeled cast of speed shot. If you find yourself too energy starved to use Sab charge ever as part of your rotation, then you are either doing your rotation incorrectly, or don't have enough crit to get enough energy return from the Fighting Spirit talent and shouldn't be specced DF yet to begin with. Also, Quick Shot should not be a part of your normal rotation. In fact it should hardly be used ever, with any tree. It's possibly gunslingers worst dmg per energy ability across the board. I recommend you stop using it immediately. The point of all this comes down to yes, Dirty Fighting is cover reliant. Just not near as much as Sharpshooter. By not utilizing cover as DF you are gimping yourself in almost every possible way imaginable.
  24. I would say it has something more to do with Sages/Sorcs being better at pretty much everything right now than Gunslingers/Snipers being underpowered. They just have a much larger toolbox and much better control while still being capable of doing comparable dmg. Not to mention they are incredibly easy to play, and can do everything we can do without the extra hassle of a cover mechanic that throws a lot of people off. Plus they have lightsabers. People like lightsabers.
