  1. I would do four simple things. Three apply to our Deception Talents, and the other gives us a Gap Closer. As for the Talents, I would do the following: Expose Weakness is active at ALL times while Stealthed. Deceptive Power also makes the first ability used out of Stealth auto crit. Saber Conduit can now proc once every three seconds. This gives us POTENTIAL (no guarantee that Surging will proc once every 3 seconds) Force regen equal to what Darkness gets with Blood of Sith. As for a gap closer, I feel that there could be another passive (Sorcs get 2 cool ones) that gives Force speed dual functionality. If used while you have no target, it functions normally. Should you use it while targeting something/someone you can attack, it transports you behind the target. But, only if you are within 30 meters or outside 10 meters. If you are outside the range restrictions, functions as normal. That alst one may be fantasy or really hard to pull off...but as a melee class, especially one as squishy as we are, we really need a gap closer. And, given our class mechanics, should put us behind our targets. Before you call OP, who uses Maul without Expose Weakness active? Force speed does not cut it as a gap closer. Two whole freaking seconds of super speed is a joke, especially with a 30 second cooldown. Force Leap/Force Charge make you move just as fast and guide you to your target while doing damage, rooting and having HALF the cooldown. Whether you agree with my idea or desire for a true gap closer, my other three suggestions are not OP and actually give us an opener to use from Stealth. Not that everyone can't see through stealth from 50 feet away now a days. The other one just gives us a source of maybe constant Force regen. Something to fill in between our quick burst every 45 seconds.
  2. Unless you played Everquest 2, I doubt you know what I mean by Cloth Simulation. It's that spiffy effect on the capes (shoulder and waste mounted) that make them flow around as you move. Thing is, these two items are the only bits of cloth that actually move. Hoods, skirts (I refuse to call em robe bottoms cause there is NO such thing as a robe bottom), and sleeves all stick to your character like they are glued to you. How did Bioware not realize/get told how horrendous the walking/running animations look for Skirts? All that fabric is there for a reason...it moves at you do. How it is now, it just sticks to you and mimics your exact every move without any flow what so ever. Then, you look at pieces of Armor like the Saber Marshall's Robe(if it were a REAL robe, the top would include its own bottom) or the Light Armor you earn from Friends of old. These two pieces of armor have four strips of cloth hanging from the top over the bottom to about the knees. Two front and two back. Thing is, the don't flow. They are glued to your legs and actually "break" at your hips when you move. Horrible/Lazy graphics design. So yeah, please add/fix the Cloth Sim in this game. Please?
  3. Since I have no stomach for aimless grinding, I will likely never see it then. It's never on the GTN on my server, so that's not an option. What someone needs to do is find what elite or higher mob in that level drops orange chest pieces. Then, farm that one and see if it drops it. Or, they could just make more models like this. Or, make better cloth simulation mechanics. Or, more non skirts!
  4. Nope, every model but his original one. A green one in his model is sold by the weapons vendor in Kaas City and it doesn't have his name on it or Clip.
  5. Is there a CONFIRMED location for the robe? Is the only piece I really want from the set. I could do without it if the hanging pieces of cloth from the Saber Marshall's top weren't glued to my legs.
  6. Zash was a push over for me. I simply kept her interrupted and burned her down. Khem didn't drop till she had about 5% HP left and from there she was easy. The only reason I ever had a problem with Thanaton was cause I wanted to do it my way. I'm a Deception Sin, so I tried to Tank and Spank him with Khem, but Khem wasn't smart enough to avoid the Uninterruptable Force Storm. Pretty sure I could have done it my way with proper use of the Passive ability and dragging Khem along with me out of the AoE, but that seemed like a pain. So, I simply dropped into Dark Charge and use Talos. Never dropped below 50% Health. The one story mob that ticked me off the most was the Prophet dude on Voss. He fights just like Thanaton, but I just couldn't beat him, even though I attempted to use the same strategy. Talos had the same exact gear (never use him, so his gear is crap), but couldn't keep up. So, I switched to Andronikus, dropped into Dark Charge and focused purely on interrupting the dude and attacking just enough to heal myself while mister Revel Burned him down.
  7. You must also keep in mind that every model of Vibrosword but the one he actually uses at the start of the game clip horribly through his back and shoulders. I think it is because he is a humanoid, but is significantly more built than any model in the game. Not certain on this, but I do remember seeing (and owning) a fully modable Green Vibrosword in his accepted model from the normal weapon's Vendor in Kaas City.
  8. I've never noticed this. My Khem must be programmed better. Then again, I lead any given battle with a Maul from Stealth, so I am already in the midst of the enemies. He then proceeds to Consume Essence and all the enemies face him while he wails on his chosen foe. I then run around and Maul stuff to death.
  9. I'm a big fan of Expose Weakness being active at all times while Stealthed. Then follow that up with adding a line to Deceptive Power that makes the first ability used out of Stealth a 100% Crit. With two minor changes, we have an actual opener that also makes Maul absolutely devastating once MAYBE twice a fight. I've also seen a lot of people complaining about constantly being out of force and some guy counter with saying other classes get weak as well if they run out of their resource. To fix the first issue, I believe that lowering the effect limit of Saber Conduit to every 3 seconds would nearly erase this issue and give us Force Regen very similar to what Darkness gets with Blood of Sith. As for other classes being crap when they run out of their resource...you're kidding right? First off, every other single class in the game can, and most likely WILL do more damage before they run out. We use 3-4 skills and we're dry. Those classes also have faster animating Free Cast skills with may or may not lead to more dps while empty. My biggest personal problem with being a Deception assassin is (as stated) how utterly dependant we are on every single little thing lining up perfectly. Sure, I can lay down some damage IF the following are true: Dark Embrace is up Expose Weakness is up, the enemy is not facing me and Exploitive Strikes is up. Recklessness is Up I have 2 Stacks of Voltaic Slash and Chain Shock procs I have 5 stacks of Static Charges The enemy is below 30% health and Exploitive Strikes is still up. If all the abilities in the perfect situations (Maul, Shock, Discharge, and Assassinate) crit, I can lay down damage similar to the other dps classes in the same amount of time. Problem is, Mercs and Ops can do the same damage as that long combo in a shorter period of time if everything goes right for them, and they BOTH wear HEAVIER armor. Exactly what benefit other than flavor do we get for wearing light armor? Subpar dps, skirts (heavy and medium Warriors get orange pants before they get switched to skirts), and very low survivability unless you go Darkness or become a "hope my various dots crit" Madness spec. The Sith Assassin could be so much...MORE without being OP if Bioware would only take the time to stop and look at the class...minus Darkness cause it is nearly perfect (minus a few ability hiccups) in what it is supposed to do.
  10. Ok, so let me set the stage here. I was just doing regular False Emperor with a decent group when one of the DPS dropped. See that I had built the group and that the Heals and Tank wanted to finish (at the BH boss), we pressed on. But, which comp to use? I suggested Ashara since I had been gearing her out lately. Minus the boss fight that you have to micro heal (comps can be hard to click), she faired very well the entire instance. She was easily 25% of our dps if I kept her focussed on the same target as me. I mean seriously, her gear isn't all THAT good, but the girl was going HAM on the enemies in that FP. To reward her for her awesomeness, the game made the final bit of gear (the only orange we got cause the BH boss glitched) from Malgus the Marauder chest piece. So yeah, props to my girl Ashara.
  11. I thought the double shock was the better option. Pretty sure I'll go with the Voltaic Slash buff.
  12. Just a quick question here. I am level 50 and am full Deception, but am not quite sure what other talents to put my extra points into. Would putting 8 points into the Madness tree for the double shock more dps than going 5 points into Darkness for 9% Armor Pen and 6% more damage to Voltaic Slash? If the double shock is the better option, should I put my last 2 points the Voltaic damage or Entropic field to avoid some aoe damage?
  13. Just a quick question that when answered should really be stickied somewhere for easy findage. Briefly used the search to try and find this, but failed, so here I am asking. What are the Diminishing Returns caps for the various stats? I have the feeling I am over the Crit Rating on my Sin, but I'm not sure. So yeah, maybe if someone knowledgeable could answer in a simple list format?
  14. My biggest beef with Artificing is the fact that WHEN you FINALLY get orange items to craft, they're kinda crappy. Each one has two forms, but the ONLY difference is the style of the item. They only have desirable stats for one specific spec, and tend to have tank stats. By this, I mean they have higher Endurance than the other stat. Seriously, who designed these?
  15. No such thing as a top robe. Just sayin. Also, I can almost guarantee that any pants you are wearing are not actual light armor pants. Unless of course you've been lucky enough to find the Supreme Inquisitors set. Wish I could find me one. Keep in mind that if you want to use the end game set bonuses, you'll have to give up your actually cool looking gear and go with the Gundam looking top and skirt. Speaking of, the top wouldn;t be so bad if it didn't have the Gundam wings. Same thing with the clawed gloves, they'd look sweet if they didn't have the bulky reverse bone wrist mounts.
  16. I HIGHLY doubt it. As stated above, he is obviously wearing at the very least Medium armor. Which means, even if we could find wearable gear that looks like his, we couldn't equip it. Haven't you guys realized yet? Sith Inquisitors were designed after early 1900 victorian house wives. We get super blouse like tops and and SKIRTS...not just any SKIRTS, full length ones that would restrict movement more than they'd help. Our only good tops are early game ones that are more akin to a hoodie than a blouse. And the only access we have to non skirts are social (or pilot) pants. Fat load of good that does when you want the set bonus from the pvp/end game gear. For clarification, we do NOT wear robes. Robes are by definition a SINGLE garment that usually covers the body from head to toe. There is no such thing as a robe bottom or a robe top. I don't know about you guys, but I'd LOVE to see some martial arts/karate inspired gear. A pair of lose fitting cloth pants are infinitely more maneuverable than a binding full length skirt.
  17. Hey, least she's not nearly as lame (personality wise) as Talos. Sure, she's young and naive, but she likes to fight and can lay down a beating when geared well. Talos is...a whinny little baby that I only let stick around because he heals damn good in crap gear. Still can't decide who is more annoying, our Droid or Talos.
  18. Was anyone disappointed that when they summoned Xalec for the first time that he had the same EXACT move as Khem's signature attack? I can give them passes on the cloned but changed names and graphics other attacks, but giving Xalec the exact same move is just...lame. Heck, they could have even called it Death Field seeing as how it is a PBAOE version of it. Don't want it having the same exact name as a player skill? Leech Field, problem solved. Just sayin is all. Not that I will ever use Xalec. I already have a heavy armor wearing tank who's shield rating actually increases. Maybe if they had made the dude a dps spec Sorcerer, instead of just putting him into offensive mode.
  19. It has been stated before and will likely be mentioned again and again until the Developers actually start fixing all the small things wrong or missing from this game. So, in the spirit of this, I am going to list and explain some of the things I would change or even add. The Galactic Trade Network: This is by far one of the WORST auction systems I have ever seen. It is way too restrictive and a pain in the behind to search for the things you want. At the very same time, for certain items, there aren't ENOUGH options to help you find what you want. I will explain below. Name Filter- This honestly needs to be at the top. Simply for ease of search. If I (as an Assassin) want to try and track down a Supreme Inquisitor's Robe, I have to expand what...three boxes and then type in supreme? With the Search at the top, I could simply type in Supreme Inquisitor and be done with it. Too Many REQUIRED's- Seriously, what if I want to look at all item mods on the GTN? Or all crafting mats on it so I can choose which gathering professions I want? None of the fields should be required. A Missing Field- Almost in stark contrast to my above issue, the GTN is missing a decently important narrowing field, armor slot. If you say, want to find a new Light Armor belt, you have to wade through page after page of the other 6 slots that Light Armor goes into. A name filter won;t help much unless you know the exact item you want. Gathering: All in all, this is a good system. Being able to gather while still being able to run around and do other things at the cost of Money and not having access to a specific Companion. There are however two issues I have with the system. One I will likely get flamed again for by the elites/hardcores and one that I am pretty sure everyone would like to see happen. My first issue with gathering is the times it takes to complete the mission skills at higher levels versus the yield you get from doing them. If you are going to make the ONLY way for me to get Gemstones is to send Comps out on gathering missions, could you please lower the times? Waiting an hour to get enough gemstones to make an enhancement I could get 4 of in thew same time by doing Commendations quests is kind of silly. Either make the Blue/Purple crafting items gatherable from nodes, or lower the times. 30 minutes is more than enough time to wait for 2-4 gemstones. (aka, half or a single recipe at 50) The second one are gathered items from my comps who are on my SHIP magically appearing in MY inventory planet side is annoying. Since we can already craft from our holds, why not have these things go to our holds? As an extension of this, allow us to organize (but not insert/withdraw) or hold from planet side. Anyone else have comments or ideas of their own on these two purely quality of life issues? Please do not flame. I like reading other people's ideas and comments on mine, but only when they are constructive.
  20. None of the bottoms we get are robes. They are skirts. A robe is a single garment meant to cover the entire body. There are no separate parts. Where as a skirt is a non legged piece of clothing that starts at the waste...which is what we get. We need more tops like the Supreme Inquisitor Rob...I mean tranchcoat. Hell, the game needs more cloth sim period. The chest piece from Friends of Old would be sick if the four dangling pieces of cloth actually flowed instead of sticking to the back of my legs like I used double sided tape.
  21. I know this, but it's still upwards of an hour at the higher levels of Treasure Hunting for 2 gemstones. That equates to about 1 Blue recipe an hour. If I'm the only person who sees a problem with this...
  22. If you're going to make the only way (that I've found other than going GTN) to get Gemstones and other blue mats is by doing missions from their associated Mission skills, could you please lower the times? Sitting here and waiting for 5 of my comps to get back from 45 minute timers is lame. And when they get back from said timer and bring me 2 items? Or worse, fail? Please change this. Or, give me some Gemstone nodes (unless I've been missing them) to harvest. I'm a sneaky Assassin, I'd travel into heroic areas for em.
  23. Except, when you do that, you get EVERY single person who is LFG. Mind you, it's a small list cause the system sucks and no one uses it. But, if more people knew about and used it, it would be a ginormous list with no way to filter it. Filters by Spec (not all Juggernauts are tanks), Level Range and FP/Heroic they are looking for would make this system viable. I think you misunderstand my version of Dual Specs. I am by no means suggesting Dual Subclasses. I'm talking a Juggernaut being able to switch between his three trees (well, two of them) to suit his current situation? Want to solo? Use the middle tree. Get called into a group or see someone asking for a Tank? Switch the Immortal tree. Another misunderstanding of my post. All of my ideas were separate ideas. Each one on their own being able to help the current strife that is finding a group for people without massive friend lists or a guild. A lot of the complaints I am seeing against a Looking for Flashpoint or Heroic system (aka, a group finder) seem to be coming from the upper tier people or those in active guilds. Not everyone is you. There are such things are CASUAL players who either don't have the time or drive to be in said situations. Personally, I'm waiting for all my friends to start playing so we can make a guild. Until then, I have no contacts and spend hours trying to find a group for any sort of Flashpoint. Finally got to run a Red Reaper the other day after trying for roughly 90 minutes a day for a week trying to find a group for it. Ended up having to go with a DPS Merc who respec'd to Healing cause we couldn't find a real one and a lame tank who wasn't even trying to maintain aggro on any mob but the one he would first attack each battle. Healer healed me the most cause I was the one taking aggro off him and our other dps. Same things happen if you have a LFD system, but they happen faster. But, you also get good groups on occasion to balance it out. And, it's STILL faster.
  24. I'll make another Thread at some point on my actual idea for Dual Specs, so I wont go into much detail on it here. Basically, it's for solo'ing to grouping ease. No one wants to solo as a Tank spec. It can be mind numbingly slow (dps Companions help) and boring. Now, if you could be a Tank and solo in your dps spec then pop into your Tank spec, it would just make for better quality of play. Oh, and more tanks for Heroic 4's. As an Assassin (deception), I'd so carry around a shield generator (since I can make some good ones) and pop over into Tank Spec if it meant getting a heroic 4 done real quick.
  25. So, having just finished reading the giant flame fest that was that other thread on a LFG system, I have decided to try and make a civil one of my own. No original post begging for flames, or offering my ideas like they are a be all end all. I will simply list and explain a few ideas that I believe will help ease the suffering of trying to find groups for Flashpoints and Heroic 4 quests. The first is obvious a a LFD like system. SAME SERVER only. Would allow people to continue whatever they were doing prior Queuing. Don't give me how this would ruin community, cause they are already doing it with PvP. Second would be server mergers. Plain and simple, they released way too many servers at the start of the game's life cycle. Some servers have high populations and make it semi easy to find groups. But when your on a server and there's only 8 other people on different stages of a planet, finding a group for a specific Heroic 4 can be a pain. Galaxy wide LFG channel, level versions. This means that there would be a 1-10 LFG channel as well as one for the other levels ranges. Maybe even every 5 levels instead of 10. In your options, you could select which of these channels you want to track/participate in. Ala EQ2. Dual Spec system. Why this wasn't out at the start of the game, I will never understand. With it, you could quest around as a DPS spec Juggernaut then press a button a switch to Tank spec once you were in a group. Sure, it could make for more than a few less than good Tanks till they learn, but at least we would actually HAVE tanks. Lastly, I would beef up the current LFG system by a LOT. A check box for your role, a check box for any FP or H4 you are eligible for and some sort of notice if the game finds the other 3 specs you need to do said FP/H4. Maybe even a little box asking if you want to go LFG for this quest when you get it so you don't have to open O, click a different tab then set yourself LFG. So, any civil thoughts on my ideas? Which one(s) would you choose? Have an idea of your own? Feel free to share, and please do not flame each other. Constructive criticism only.
