  1. anyone else with that problem?
  2. Anyone know why my server selection screen says I have 6 toons and I really only have 5?
  3. I didn't think you could pad healing. There have been times where I have instinctively used my instant heal on myself or others and even though it hit for >3000, I didn't get the 2500 medal because it only took say 2000 to get them to max. I thought if you were at 100% the heal wouldn't truly count toward your total just the part that was applied to them to get them to max.
  4. I am so glad to see that I am not alone and love hearing everyone else's little annoying mistakes:) keep em' coming because I feel a whole lot better. I kept thinking "what the hell's wrong with me!":) apparently nothing.
  5. yeah I totally forgot about that 1 :-) and regarding my ui, I actually removed that little icon because I thought there's no way I would get lost :-) little did I know.
  6. That's what I was going to also say. It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many load screens Plus I got rid of the little location icon on my UI because I thought "well, I know where I am "
  7. Am I the only fool that has gotten off his ship thinking he was at a planet only to realize that I forgot to choose one on the galaxy map for whatever reason?
  8. It was my understanding that a pvp server meant that if I saw the other faction, I had the ability, at my own risk, to go and engage combat. I just made my way to Nar Shadaa and am seeing blue labeled imps running around that I can't engage because they don't have their pvp flag up. Why is this possible? I am on the promenade which is a shared zone, but is that why? Do you really have the ability to turn your flag off any time?
  9. I'm confused, isn't that what this is? http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=309 nvm, just looked a little closer and noticed they aren't really "server" specific.

    So what's better?

I love pvp and that's what "end game" means to me. I just started a healing smuggler and plan on strictly pvp'ing with him. I already have a 50 BH and some other various toons that I've temporarily run out of steam playing. I find myself, with this new toon, queueing wzs constantly and while it is giving me game experience and character leveling, I find that it pops so often on the Fatman that it takes me an hour just to get across a cantina because I keep jumping in ( obviously some people never get pops so I can't necessarily complain). I noticed though that no matter how many matches I play, my valor doesn't go above my current level. While wz coms are easy to come by (on the Fatman), at 50 I know I am just going to buy recruit gear and start grinding warhero. My question is, is it better just to level pve mostly and play enough matches to keep my valor in line with my current level (since valor is also easy to come by)? thanks
  11. But isn't it inherent in a game with different classes, that there would be inequalities? This is more my overall point. I don't think we can expect a balanced game. I wouldn't expect my healer to 1v1 a marauder because that's not my job. It is my job to heal the knight that kicks the crap out of the marauder. This becomes a victory for the both of us, and a successful outcome in my book. I am not looking to take the role of the tank, I am looking to support it.
  12. I don't play to lose, but I play to my strengths. If I have a team of 8 healers, I can't expect to win civil war. If I have a mix of classes, I know what I am there for.
  13. Nah, I got thick skin. I'm an ER doc:) "Flawed" is not the word. But not knowing the other side would be more appropriate. That's why I asked but explained my feelings about it. The thing with me is that once I begin to see what others say, it just makes more sense. I am far from close-minded about things.
  14. ^^also well put. And that's why I am asking. Sometimes I personally don't see things from all sides and this is the "perspective" that I need. Everyone's feedback is how I grow and learn to see things from different angles instead of my selfish one.
  15. ^^ well put. I guess when I pvp, for instance, I know my weaknesses and knew them when I rolled a class. I know as a healer I can't out dps another class so I don't try. I try not to put myself in that situation. But I will place myself in a location to heal most effectively because that's my role. I don't expect the devs to buff my damage because I am not meant to put out damage and I also don't expect them to make my heals so massive I can keep another player alive indefinitely. I think people just have unreal expectations because they want their characters to be able to do it all. We can't do it all.
  16. I completely agree with this! Most importantly you said focusing on "teamwork" which reiterates my point that not every person has every ability and can't expect to 1 v 1 everyone. You NEED teamwork to succeed and that equals fun. But you can't, and won't, always win no matter how organized, balanced, or good you are.
  17. Why does everyone insist on balancing pvp? I mean, life's not balanced, so why should a game have to balance itself? Why should I, at 37 years old 6'3" 220lbs, be able to get my *** kicked by a 7 year old without the same "skill set". If that same kid grows up and is 5'3" 130lbs and still can't kick my ***, go get some friends that compliment you and bring it! Life's not balanced and never will be. You can't change what you have, you do the best with what you have and seek ways to better yourself, because in life you can't control anyone but yourself. Remember it's just a game and meant to be fun. Perspective is needed. We are all fortunate enough to spend our free time playing games on a computer. Have a great day!
  18. Great guide! Do you have a spec you recommend? oops, just saw what you said at the end of your post. How bout just a quick reference so we wont have to wait too long:)?
  19. Isn't that a little too much information? sounds like you buds are close:) couldn't resist.
  20. I know that it is as simple as point and click, but for me the visual of the spaceship going down when I move crosshairs down really make it hard for me for some reason. I also play on a laptop and don't use a mouse. I wonder if I plug the mouse in and inverted through the mouse drivers it might work.
  21. It sounds so simple just to point and click, but we are talking about 20 years of flying games including RC flight etc..It's amazing how it is so ingrained in gaming context. I am extremely fast at navigating windows but just can't change the mindset to work with a game. Practice practice practice I guess.
  22. Actually I always invert my controls even when moving my character so it is always selected. When I enter space combat, despite being selected, the controls revert back to "normal". I wish it were all or nothing.
  23. I can't seem to find the answer to whether or not the mouse axis can be inverted for space combat. I have flown flight games since I was a kid and can only control my ship using inverted controls I am so use to it, I just can't get through even the easiest mission without some bit of difficulty and failure. It's too bad because I want to play space combat and maybe one day there will be space combat pvp. I leveled one toon to 50 and have several others in the 30's but have played 3 space missions total.
