  1. If you buy it or not is largely irrelevant. THAT is the history of this game, stating you don't 'buy' it, is like anyone playing any star wars game, and not buying the Jedi 'crap'. I think I am missing what you want to achieve with post. Care to elaborate?
  2. You will probably profit, not lose money. I must admit at hearing different stories though, some say to take the grade 5 Rich missions, others say to take only the moderate/abundant ones... I Generally do both, Rich grade 5, and all Grade 6, and tbh, I am making quite a decent profit... About 800-1000 per companion per hour sounds about right, but that is excluding the statistical crit you would get about every hour running with 5 companions. Those can go up to 7 to 8k for a single mission. (That costed 1000-1500). I make a steady unlucky 5.000 to a lucky 10.000 an hour, perhaps it doesn't sound impressive, but it really helps. The other missions and occasional schematic your getting is just a bonus on top of that. they shouldn't cost you a penny. (little edit, I made a little calculation mistake, put in the right numbers now)
  3. The Jedi knight story is very... Jedi like... (who would have thought?)... I play mine mostly light, except when love is involved, then sometimes some dark points are gained. I really liked the fact that while I am saving the galaxy, I am still checking out the ladies (read Kira) trying to get me some... Its that little 'imperfection' that fleshes out my character for me. He has got nothing on my smuggler though.
  4. Having a lot of Jedis with red lightsaber crystals might have never happened in any other recorded time period, it is however not impossible nor unthinkable and thus it does not really break lore. Ironically, if the devs would have excluded red from being used as a Jedi, THAT would have broken lore, as we have already established that that option, while rare, was most certainly available to the Jedi. But if you really care about this kind of thing, you should have rolled a RP or RP-PVP server
  5. It could be worse... In the Jedi knight storyline, after standing up for Kira Carsen : Kira : You know, I really want to kiss you right now, but I wont.
  6. I think you may be correct. I'm only level 29, and on level 3/4 slicing missions, but last night all my companions came back with about 3000 credits each, while the missions cost about 1500... But perhaps I was just lucky because all came back with a green case instead of a white one. It was actually large enough for me to notice it, and when I asked about it on teamspeak, other slicers in my guild reported similar experiences. Looking forward to that new data.
  7. Modable gear is there so people can maintain a certain look they like without gimping there stats. While it is a LOT of work to keep your mods up to date, the stats of the orange gear will be slightly better in my experience then the gear you get from quests/loot.
  8. You can, but like the dialog, just not two at the same time. Once you've picked an option, you stick with it. And if you do make a mistake in your build, the current respec system lets you rectify it.
  9. But while bioware fixes the plethora of bugs and real issues, the only one doing the whining is... well... 3 guesses. Oh, and something else : Calling someone a fanboy is NOT a valid counter towards their arguments against dualspeccing, just thought I'd let you know.
  10. He stated that you either spec fully for a role, or you are wasting other peoples time. Since Paladins where hybrid in nature, they could never tank as good as a warrior, heal as well as a priest, or DPS as well as a mage. Yet, despite the hybrid nature of the class, I found a place in a raiding guild, and downed everything there was to down with them. I was merely pointing out there is a valid place for hybrids in, as he calls it, 'social gaming'. That being said, why don't you roll a Sorcerer or Operative to heal?
  11. Yet that is exactly what Bioware is aiming at, seeing the legacy system and the relative ease of leveling/gearing I used to a Paladin in WoW before the burning crusade. Unless you'd like to state that we where either the best healers, best DPS'ers or best Tanks, I have to ask you if you REALLY want to go there?
  12. Consequence It is one of Biowares selling points, consequence in dialog and other choices like class builds it seems. Your build choices are more permanent like this, 'forcing' people to take a more hybrid approach if they want to do multiple things, and making it hard to min-max. Which provides the real min-maxers a greater advantage if they do while giving casual and roleplayers an incentive to hybrid build their character, reducing the amount of cookie cutter builds out there. Well, in theory anyway. Cant say I mourn the price of respeccing. would be higher if I had a say in it.
  13. Easy is the word you are looking for.
  14. Its a complete and utter lack of understanding regarding the software engineering process... nothing more, nothing less.
  15. Will you get those numbers out of here!!! on the double!! It interferes with the fragile minds of all those here who are solely convinced the game will be dead the day after tomorrow. Best to keep them under the hood until then.
  16. If it is truly constructive criticism, then no, there is no problem with it. A lot of the 'constructive critics' however believe that the game sucks, and since they cannot fathom the mere idea of other people having different opinions, so everybody that enjoys the game despite their arguments must suck as well... People like that put me off when I see a post like this. I like this game, I like it a lot even. But some things that can use improvement? Crew skill balancing. UI Should be improved. General bugs in quests should be resolved. I believe they will get this right in time though.
  17. YOU started it yesterday, but the game itself started in 2007... If you are under the impression that the game was bug free one month after launch, it becomes apparent you where not first in line when you 'choosed' your brain. So while we are comparing the two games, lets take the LotRO patch notes from 25 October 2007, 6 months after launch : The word 'Fix' or 'Fixed' occurs 38 times in them. One even associated with a frequent crash, and some others with graphical issues. Does that make LotRO a bad game? Oh please no! There is no such thing as perfect software, and reading about fixing bugs is better then reading about them not fixing it. Does it make YOU look silly for comparing a month old MMO to a 4 and a half year old MMO? well...
  18. Employed programmers however have to deal with deadlines that necessitate trade offs in the code. Give a developer all the time and money in the world, and they will take 2 months optimizing a 'hello world' program to perfection. And while the final 'hello world' program is fantastic, it is not economical feasible to spend 2 months on that. No programmer, the brilliant and the not so brilliant, like to provide a program that is not at least 95% functioning as they had perceived.
  19. Perhaps there is not that much wrong with biochem on itself... (Though I would welcome a change making the re-usable bind on use and with a lot of charges 100-150 or something instead of limitless) The biggest problem comes from comparing biochem to the other professions... They could use a buff
  20. Appearance tab would break the mod system, and since I kinda like that, I hope we never get one.
