  1. First, I'm not demanding, I'm asking for a combat log that tells me what happened...in real time. Why? So I can quickly assess what went wrong. I'm not sure this is crazy or too much to ask. I'm really just curious. I'm curious to see where I measure up. Is it about competitiveness? Of course, but it's also about not spending 4 hours in an instance wiping and wondering why.
  2. I'm not the only one; ergo, the 1st person plural still applies.
  3. Aren't they talking about having training dummies on the ships? I thought I read that somewhere.
  4. I do and we keep these stats for bragging rights, to see who should bat where in the next game, and to see who gets MVP/All tournament, etc. And some of us did play sports professionally or in college and thus this competitive streak is still alive. The analogy fits.
  5. So you're basically saying because of that small percentage of d-bags, you want the rest of us to do without something that we've become quite accustomed to? It's almost as if you and your "faction" is the TSA of combat logs. "We can't let the terrorists win, so let's take away all their toothpaste!" Combat logs made me a better player. I saw/see where I'm lacking and realize that I need to improve. I saw/see where I needed to stretch my play style and where I need to use more consumables and all that jazz. Everyone in the raids I was in wanted these stats. For bragging rights, sure. But back to the sports analogy, stats are what matter. Think about the HoF in any sport. The people there are measured by stats: Super Bowls won, % of pass completon, TDs, goals scored, assists, etc etc etc. These goals are what help us that play this game as a sport to have something to shoot at.
  6. Yet completely arbitrary. Where's the proof that WoW started to decline when add-ons came of age? As a hardcore raider before and after...give me after.
  7. Lol! Great point. At this point I can just be like, "Dunno what happened, bro. I promise I healed you."
  8. What? That makes no sense. In every sport played all over the world we see real time stats. It's what we crave. When I'm watching a baseball game, I need to know (expect to know) that my pitcher has thrown 100+ pitches. Why? Because that means he's getting tired and if he's only in the 3rd inning, I can tell that he sucks today. These statistics help us as "players" become better at our "sport". Much they same way they assist a pitching coach (Ops leader) and the manager (GM) know that it's time to pull the starter. Next time they may give another person a shot at getting in the game. Do these stats tell the whole story all of the time? Heck no, but they do give us information that helps us to make decisions. for the future.
  9. I can't understand why someone would be against real time combat logs ingame? If it can be toggled in some way it shouldn't affect you in the least if you don't want to use it.
  10. Dumb posts are dumb. Uninformed posts are...well, dumb too.
  11. 2 days? Really? I know it's quicker, but it's not as quick as you think.
  12. Sure, but there needs to be objectives that have meaning when they're lost (see Keeps in WAR, whatever they had in EVE, and bases in SWG). If you have nothing invested, losing it means nothing either. That's the real problem with Ilum. If the Imps take over the Republic base, it means nothing. Sure you get some "bonuses" in Warzones and you can earn more valor, but what's after that? What is at stake for me and the guy I'm fighting? If he can just /stuck (I know it's fixed) or immediately rez with no durability loss, then there's no risk. I played SWG for a long while. The base wars (and crafting) in that game were such a great concept. Now, I realize that SWG was completely GoatAss™, but the concept was genius. I can't understand why no one has decided to go back to that type of risk/reward. There was little to no gear available in SWG from PvP, but the battles were amazing and engaging and long and full of players. All that to say that the carrot doesn't have to be gear, but there has to be a carrot. And with no player structures to be gained, lost, controlled or inhabited, the carrot will always be the gear vendor.
  13. 3g bro. 3g. (or 4g if you hate Apple)
  14. I login via my iPhone from time to time. To craft or send out my minions. Has Bioware said not to do this? If so, I must have missed it.
  15. Which is what I was testing out. I like that statement ("The casting bar should be the law..."). Gonna start using that when talking about this topic henceforth
  16. If I'm not mistaken, that's the whole argument (i.e. animation doesn't equal action). I could be wrong though. However, the animation did trigger a few times if you watch the video closely.
  17. Ok, so I tested this this morning. Not sure if this is the best way to test it though:
  18. Seriously, because I feel like I'm exploiting or something by sitting outside the Republic base and just letting valor roll in. What was the intent? After we cap all 5 points, what else are we supposed to do? Or is this just it? /longs for the days of player made content (i.e. SWG base wars)
  19. Great thread! Thanks for this. All of these issues raised here are precisely what I've been wanting to express (and have to my guild mates) for a long time.
  20. Are you My Little Pwny from Meridian guild?
  21. When you get on Helm of Graush, type /cjoin bria And tell others to do the same.
