  1. I've found it far easier and faster than questing as a DPS. Plus you're never short of a group for the heroics.
  2. I think you’re misunderstanding a little there. Once you add the extra digit, the data overhead increases slightly, changing the integer value stored using that number of digits does not make a difference. 256 doesn’t use any more bits than 999 does. EDIT: Ignore that, it’s utter nonsense for most languages. The one I’m working in right now works like that, but it’s proprietary rubbish. Forgive the error, it’s been a long time since I wrote in anything else.
  3. I'm going to go with new players as well. I've had a few groups now where people have just straight come out and said "I don't know what you guys are talking about, what the hell is a tank?", or something similar. I think, as a community, we could do much better in how we treat these players. The 3 times this has happened to me, twice the group leader just kicked them straight out, the other I was leader and explained the concept to them, and lost a DPS who refused to continue unless I kicked the "noob". These players then become afraid to admit ignorance in future groups, and go from new players, to bad players. Those of us with experiance with MMOs in general really need to do a lot better with how we deal with people who don't know what they're doing. Obviously I accept some people are just bad, and have no desire or see no need to get any better. If they won't take and act on advice when they're failing, I have no time for them either.
  4. But it's not the real world. It's a game, where I go to entertain myself in the hours where I'm not writing software to vague and often misleading customer specifications.
  5. You're right, the game changed to reflect the addons. In Vanilla you had to understand your class and abilities, and understand and watch out for the mechanics of the fight. Getting it wrong hit you harder than it did in WotLK (I quite when Cata came out, that's my last frame of reference), but you had far more time to register what was happening and react. Now you need to know your rotation, and be able to react instantly to what gets thrown your way. Messing up isn't necessarily an instagib, but if you take you're even a little bit slow, it'll happen. It's changed from a game of practice and knowledge, to a game of muscle memory and reactions, both very different skill sets. Personally, I preferred knowing and understanding what was going on to following a recipe, which is why I dislike addons for anything other than look and feel. This may have something to do with me having the reaction times of someone twice my age.
  6. Because searching for the objective using vague and often misleading or inaccurate text was way more fun.
  7. I don't care if you're a lover or a hater of SWTOR, if you're using EA's stock price to validate your opinion, you fail.
  8. Please don't fix this. I like my creepy staring companion, especially when I'm higher than and at a slight angle to them.
  9. My murderous Zabrak Sith Lord with a soft posh English accent sounds pretty damn menacing. Each to their own I guess.
  10. Oh yeah, APB was a train wreck. Shortest lived MMO ever at 27 days if I recall correctly (can't be bothered to look it up), there's £30 I'll never see again. Should really go play it now it's out again, see if the new devs managed to fix anything. EDIT: I bothered to look it up. 73 days from launch to Realtime Worlds going out of business. I must have remembered it as worse than it was. Still, the shortest lived MMO in history.
  11. Confirming the same thing. I usually use a mouse button, but had this problem and switched to a the keyboard at someone's suggestion. Not had the problem since.
  12. I agree with all the others, but please Bioware, never fix this.
  13. I think you have to be on a female character to buy it.
  14. I lol'd. Now everyone in the office is staring at me.
