  1. I felt like all the negativity here needed to be offset, since most of the people who actually like Disciplines are busy playing the game. - I love Disciplines because it makes the leveling process more streamlined. - I love Disciplines because my lowbie characters learn core abilities sooner. - I love Disciplines because I can tailor the utilities I pick based on MY personal playstyle, and not have to put points in things on a skill tree I don't want just to get to the top. Do you love Disciplines too? Post here and let it be known! Haters: I know there's nothing I can say to keep you out, but feel free to bump this topic with whatever sillyness you can think of
  2. The only thing you're risking is that your character names might be up for grabs at some point, although this might just be in the case of server merges. Someone else will have to confirm, as I'm not quite sure about this. Did happen to me when I took a break for about a year though, had to rename 2 or 3 characters.
  3. That's like saying he might not be retarded, he might just be really stupid.
  4. Not sure I understand what your position on this is. You think it would be better for them to lie about it just to avoid upsetting the people who can't get their head around that this won't make any difference to their game experience? Or would you prefer them to just not take the steps necessary to prevent stat bloat? Either one of those is, to use your own words, numskull thinking.
  5. Just thought I'd come back here and gloat From the patch notes:
  6. All cartel market items come with a 36 hour timer (actual time, not play time), when that runs out you can trade it and send to to whoever you want.
  7. There's plenty of other companions who doesn't have favorite gifts. All comps should have a minimum of 1 favorite (highest tier) gift IMO.
  8. Just do some GSF dailies and weeklies and you'll be swimming in them before you know it.
  9. This is your thread and your suggestion, I was just commenting on it and giving my opinion. But fine. IMO anything would be better than just a straight up x amount of CC, that's just boring. Simple additions to existing perks shouldn't be too hard to implement. - Further reduction of Quick Travel CD. - Further reduction of Rocket Boots CD. - Legacy-wide purchase of the character-specific perks.
  10. Oh sure, the black guy's probably an escaped convict who stole it
  11. Disciplines will allow characters to learn core abilities a lot sooner than with the current skill tree system. I honestly think it will be much more fun AND effective to level characters from low levels in 3.0 because of this, which is why I have made 8 new sub-20 characters.
  12. Who says you HAVE to accumulate rest XP before starting the 55-60 leveling process? Is someone holding a gun to your head? Blink once for "yes", twice for "no", and 12 times for "HAI! I'm a crazy person! Dododeedeedooooo!".
  13. Without knowing your specs, I'd say there's a good chance the only solution is to buy a new computer. My 4 year old laptop, which was fairly top of the line when I bought it, only plays it decently at the lowest settings. Getting a new one pretty soon.
  14. You forgot to say that it's a slap in the face PvE comms will be converted to Basic Comms, while PvP comms stay the same. Also all items with bind timers will bind, so you can't store comms that way going from pre- to post 3.0.
  15. Not making any new ones would be the most practical thing to do.
  16. The statistics of possible combinations and how many I have come across have nothing to do with one another, if you think one person's observations are any indication of actual statistics you should probably ...you know, something something Statistics 101. Not that I think it will make any difference to you, but I have seen maybe 2 or 3 Luke's on my server (a couple more Revan's), nowhere near even the 8 in your original point. Even if I HAD seen 8 or more, it would still be extremely unlikely that they would all be at 55, all be online at the same time, and all be part of the same ops group. I could just as well turn your own argument against you and say that if there are 1440 possible ways for your character to have one of the most common or easily thought-of 4-letter name for Star Wars characters, there's really no point in devoting resources to making any changes to the current system. Chances are, you WILL find a combination that isn't taken for any given name, and you won't even need a second identifier cluttering up the system. Or just take Lyraine's advice. Or just keep harping on and on about it until you can get your George and Tine, which will probably happen roundabout 2046. EDIT: Forgot to comment on this It stands to reason that if your system was implemented, there would be a lot more people naming their characters Luke. Thereby increasing the chances of your "undesirable scenario" example happening.
  17. Nope. Outleveling them only reduces the XP they give, credit rewards are the same regardless of your level.
  18. Possible, but highly improbable. That's 8 (if all of those are even taken) out of however many players are on a server. You may want to take a statistics 101 course. Again, very improbable, and the unnecessary exaggeration only serves to make you look even more ridiculous than you already do.
  19. I generally don't care about achievements unless they come with a particular title I want, but I see no reason why this shouldn't be changed. /signed Btw: Are there any titles or other goodies involved with the achievements in question?
  20. I suggest you keep your expectations low. From what I've understood, with this they're only dipping their toes in the water, so to speak. It will follow the events of your character's Act 3 though, as Mr Musco posted earlier. Low expectations -> either be pleasantly surprised or adequately satisfied -> give positive feedback -> they make more
