  1. Bioware won't answer because the answer is "working as intended." And that answer isn't going to clam anyone down.
  2. Maybe because it's on a 2 minute cooldown?
  3. The real reason why people don't want this is because it will take away all incentive to play Republic. Empire already has everything going for it, from better area design, writing and not terrible looking pvp sets. Making all all 3 warzones faction neutral will turn this game into a one faction game with an in-flood of republic players rerolling empire.
  4. I've hit 500K before, still wish I was a level 50 sage instead though.
  5. Let me tell how watching this video makes me feel: I'M SORC SON OF SMUGGLER SCOUNDREL SCOUNDREL IS OP DO YOU WANT STUNLOCK? DO YOU WANT 10K CRITS? SCOUNDREL IS OP DISGUSTING HAN SOLO IS A MURDERER FILTHY REPUBLIC That about sums it up.
  6. I think all the accuracy buffs in Combat are there mostly for the off-hand attacks really. For that little extra 300 (pre mitigation) damage and a 2nd chance to proc Ataru Strike (assuming it can proc on any hit).
  7. Watchman is a safer bet. Combat might be able to do more damage if all the stars align in the universe, all the procs happen, everything crits as you spam Blade Rush at enemy standing still in Zen after a Precision Strike. This happens all the time in PVP.
  8. Combat is really fun, but it is somewhat buggy and lacking. The problem is that your main focus dump attack, Blade Rush, has most of it's damage tied to RNG. There's the base damage, which is in fact 2 simultaneous attacks of the main-hand + off-hand (both I think crit separately, but I'm unsure of this point), the basic 30% ataru proc chance (50% on subsequent blade rushes) and the guaranteed proc. So you have the chance to see 2 to 4 numbers on each attack. The main hand attack (which can miss too of course but is unlikely). The chance of the off-hand hit is going to be about 70%-75% (though this isn't additional damage as it is already calculated into the tooltip, so you have a 25% to 30% chance of losing that 300 damage on every Blade Rush if this misses). Then you have the guaranteed atrau procs and the separate one on GCD which will have a 30% to 50% of happening. That's a lot of numbers, and it seems all can crit individually, giving actually impressive potential damage per hit since everything will crit for your base crit multiplier + 30%(roughly close to a crit bladstorm or possibly more I think, hard to figure out what's going on without a combat log and if the 10% focus applies to atartu procs as well, probably not though). Suffice to say, this doesn't happen very often anyway and is unreliable in the first place, but I think with a good crit rating this damage may possibly be scary enough considering giving Combat a chance with good enough gear. All things considered, popping Zen after Precision Strike and spamming Blade Rushes does impressive damage (if you're lucky, but this isn't something you can often do in pvp of course and it sill has the chance screw you over due to the RNG). There's a couple glaring issues that could possibly make Combat worthwhile if altered possibly, but right now it's way too random for it to be reliable for anything. The whole accuracy focus has pretty clear intent, to increase the damage through ensuring off-hand attacks hit. But that base damage doesn't scale with anything but the weapon itself and the dual-wield mastery talent. So with Redeemer and other high end weapons that ends up being around 200-300 damage. This isn't really a huge buff, especially since you will still have around 25% chance to miss with the off-hand and lose that damage (which isn't that much in the first place). Currently the only way to increase this damage is with crit/surge, which only makes this even more random. For instance, if the global cool down on atrau procs didn't exist, and the chance of it to proc was set to possibly occur on each hit of either weapon, this would allow each attack to possibly proc ataru strike twice (would obviously have to be tweaked for multi hit attacks) then the damage might actually be impressive. Or it could end up being OP as hell, not like there is a good way to even test the damage currently how it works. Or just simply improve the scaling of the off-hand.
  9. The JK armor makes me feel like some space gladiator samurai out of a 30's bad sci movie or something. It's literally the worst pvp set in the game.
  10. I know that, but certain classes I want to play on the empire mirror for aesthetic reasons.
  11. Pretty much that, I'm looking to roll empire on a server where I don't have to wait 20 minutes to play huttball against 5 Sorcs and 3 Assassins (I'm on Prophecy of the Five and this is more or less what happens constantly for my bounty hunter). So I'm looking for personal opinions form players in regards to their wait times for PvP Warzones on their servers. Any input greatly appreciated.
  12. Actually that's wrong, Powertech has plenty of ranged abilities, but all 3 specs require it to be in melee range for maximum effect. It is in fact a melee class.
  13. That's all true, I meant no CC that completely stuns the enemy without side-effects to yourself. Stasis is fits this almost of course, but it roots you in place as well, and only makes up for the 4 second stun everyone else gets without accounting for the additional ways they get people into hazards. We do get plenty of CC and ways to stick on target, which is nice, I just wish we had one of those CC's that lets you shutdown the enemy completely for a few seconds, while letting us utilize those few seconds in a way we best see fit, the one that everyone else has.
  14. Another huge blow in PvP, that isn't often mentioned, is the complete lack of ways to change the enemy location at all. Every other class ( I think, not sure about smuggler/operative) gets some sort of pull or knock back that lets them abuse game hazards and general positioning. Some classes can get even more than one! This is obviously huge in Huttball, and can be abused in Voidstar too, not to mention the tactical utility. To make things worse, we get no hard CC what so ever, when ever other class in the game does get one. Doesn't seem to me like Sentinel's melee damage is so good it warrants for it to be the only class with no hard stuns, and being melee it's probably the class that needs it far more than the rest. Even Guardian can spec in a 4 second stun (although they end up getting 3, with non-channel stasis and stun leap in addition to hilt strike) in defense and they also get push to abuse in huttball.
  15. Well I hear that RP-PVP servers have a good balance compared to regular pvp servers. In any case, know any good pvp servers with a healthy republic population? Don't want to end up rolling on one that is bound to die.
  16. Ok, I made a mistake, I rolled empire, on prophecy of the five. I have come to realize this is not the greatest place for PvP at all, and PvP is what I expect to do at 50. I'm almost Valor Rank 20 now, I have played Civil War once, Voidstar 3 times, and a countless number of Huttballs against the empire. In addition the wait times can get up to 15 minutes or worse. Considering I only fear the queue times will get worse with time, I don't even know if it will be possible to grind best PvP gear on this server at all in a reasonable amount of time. So, what's a good server to roll Republic on? I hear good things about Jang Ma and Helm of Garush. Any input is greatly appreciated.
  17. It's not that it's boring, but it does lack the flair of other classes. For example, you get no real hard stun CC, ever. But every other class has a 4 second stun by 14 I believe. Guardians are hurting in that regard too, but they can get 3 hard stun CC in their tanking tree. You get no range, ever. Leap is about it. Everyone else has some range capacity, even guardians get saber throw. No fancy moves to change the enemy position. And again, even guardian gets push, you're not pushing anyone off a bridge in Voidstar, ever.
  18. You're the one creating the plot-holes by trying to bring EU continuity logic into the films. EU books are interpretations of the films that attempt to extrapolate on what's on the movie, and provide an explanation in terms of the EU. It's not the other way around, the EU has no bearing on the content of the films (aside from whatever bits Lucas pulled into the movie to place them into continuity), and cannot be used to explain parts of it in the context of the films.
  19. There is little talk because the other two trees seem better for PVP. The damage is very much sustained, and the utility is limited to the 2 jumps (though both buffs are great). Immortal lets you guard, which is huge in pvp, and let's you go from 0 hard CC stuns to 3 at tier 5 and still do respectable damage. Rage gives you better burst, and a great CC in the top talent.
  20. When corruption Sorcs pay 15 force for purge, with a possible 9% less cost too if specced into it. And it's out of the 500 (and more likely 600) force pool.
  21. Veela has goon squad. That makes it the worst server you could be on.
