  1. Nah, not the case, if anything I find it interesting to see I can get through most mobs in the game without aggroing them. They should probably aggro more when you're travelling about, but I like being able to skip some, so I'm happy with that. Suggest using some strategy to take out groups of mobs instead of not being aware of what's around you and getting everything on you at once. Not sure what game you're playing, as this one certainly allows higher levels to boost lower levels through anything. There's no alteration to the higher levels stats either. Makes it very easy to get boosted through things and happens all the time. It's not even as if it's some big secret either, not really sure how you've not figured this one out :s. I believe they heard pleas such as that and indeed extended their promotion to cater to anyone who had reached legacy level 6 between their characters. As the previous poster stated, you probably need to chill a little. IF you're not sure on how to do things in the game, probably best to ask on here for some help rather than getting frustrated. Maybe even some guilds and players on your server will help you learn how the game works and boost you through if you ask nicely enough.
  2. Server: Hydian Way, EU Server type: PvE If you wish to include your guild or any others: There's a large number of guilds on there catering to all walks. We've some larger guilds on there that focus on PvP, others on PvE and progression and quite a number of social and casual guilds. Estimate of current population: We can often hit around 80 on fleet in peak time. We can often hit standard in peak time, although it's been a while since I last saw us at Heavy. It was one of the servers with queues at the start of the game and has certainly been a server that has typically been in the top third for population EU wise. How is your community: Server atmosphere is very friendly. A lot of people know others and help and discuss things in general. There's quite a bit of banter and fun going on. A lot of players will also do little things like buff you when going past and often send you a greeting when they pass you. Only a few days ago, a good number of us, all from different guilds, all randomly decided to group up on the fleet and start dancing around in the cantina as a small example of community interaction. General information like finding groups to PvP with, Finding groups for PvE and things like that: It' fairly easy for most groups. levelling groups can be a bit harder to find, but all end-game stuff goes well. Level 50 PvP pops every 10mins or throughout the evening with up to 4 warzones going at once that I've been able to tell. A lot of guilds run regular ops as you can often see them popping in and out of the windows on the Gav Daragon. There's quite a lot of interaction between various guilds and helping each other fill slots too, as many of the GM's know each other and help out. Many people know everyone else who PvPs and we tend to know each persons strengths and weaknesses, sometimes PvP can be quite a close battle. I remember doing a PvP this past week and us hitting a score of something like 6-4 in Huttball and a Novare coast that ended with one side on 16% at the end. Overall the community and getting groups is quite satisfying on our server and the atmosphere is always great. Would certainly recommend it as a server to others.
  3. I've done this on our server with our alliance a number of times. Got a list of really good spots on the fleet to do so - we used the same rules you've set out here when we previously did it.
  4. I love this idea and hoped it was coming with dual-spec. There is a further idea I would like also though. When I switch between specs I often change my ability placement on my quickbars too - and indeed the ui layout. I would like it so that when I switch between them I can have preset ability placement on the quickbars - or just enable it so that I can save button placement on a UI interface layout rather than having to move abilities around each time. As it currently stands, when I change spec, the abilities I lose disappear off the qucikbar (couldn't they just turn dark greay showing they can't be used?). This means fiddling aorund with abilities on the bars each time also. (I move the abilities around to prioritise certain abilities ahead of others as I am a clicker)
  5. There's about 15 chests that spawn in various locations in this small area. I'd have guessed they spawn roughly every 1hour, always in the same locations with individual timers on the chests. I do WZ's whilst sitting around in that area and occasionally do a lap of the spawn points. I know at least 3 other people who also do this. If there's more than 2 of you there, don't bother wasting your time going around and leave it. It's barely worth doing unless you're the only one there. Rewards: 1500-3500 credits, 20 Warzone comms, possibility of recruit gear (always for your class)
  6. Whilst you've said the recruit gear is the fastest/best way to get geared - it's not. That gear has expertise on it - which is useless in pve fights. You should get all orange gear for all slots that take it and you should spend 2-3 days doing all the dailies together on Ilum/Belsavis/Corellia. The only 'tough' one out of the lot is the Heroic4 of Correlia and the rest are very easy. You will acquire about 225k in credits per run and you will also get yourself a large number of tokens in order to buy armor/hilt/barrel for all parts, as well as getting enhancement/mod drops. Within those 2-3 days you will have full artifact level 50/51 items in all sots and some cash to boot. It wil take about 3 hours to do all of those dailies. After that you'll find yourself breezing through Taral V and you'll probably start farming it a little to get all of you the gloves. If you struggle to move on from that, I'd suggest to keep running Taral V and get the gloves repeatedly and then extract the enhancements and mods from them and put them into other pieces. Columi gear is level 56 artifact gear. Good luck.
  7. Done. Left some comments for you too, hopefully they may help a little.
  8. psst. He's being sarcastic. /end whisper
  9. I was under the impression that it could be different for some bosses and often between 2-4 hours. So unless they've changed it with a patch, we always used to be able to start on starter planets World Bosses and then make our way through them all and be able to revisit the earlier planets by the time we'd finished. Similarly when doing the rakghoul events, trapjaw was still on a 2-4hour timer.
  10. Like Sepulchrave and Cordelia (Hey Xanadu!) our guild is on Hydian Way. Recruitment has slowed an awful lot, but we're still getting the occasional person join up on a trial for us. We've maintained similar online numbers throughout the past few months, even though they're not large numbers. We lost a larger number of people after the first couple of months when people had decided it wasn't for them or they got bored waiting for everyone else to level. We're not from MMO's originally, so it was expected that many of the people we brought with us may not enjoy it. What we've done differently is that we immediately created an alliance on our server with another like-minded guild. It has been very harmonious throughout and was one of the best things we could have done. We've been picky and turned down one or two guilds and turned away some members who didn't fit our profile too, but we've recently had another guild join our alliance and one of the other larger guilds on the server is now interested also. We stick purely to casual and social play, so we're just at the point where we're running ops once a week and gearing everyone out in full columi before running the hard modes. We doubt we'll be ready for the nightmare modes for a little while longer yet and that's fine. Most of us have a few alts and a few 50's and many are taking that route too, enjoying the various classes and unique attributes. We spend most of our time talking and playing silly little games of our own devices:- We made our own treasure hunt game with cryptic clues to lead people to unique locations in-game, we do impromptu hide and seek games in different areas, offering prizes to those that find us first, we do all the usual world boss/datacron events, we're planning on doing more scavenger-hunt style games in the future, we run a weekly raffle. All of these events we do on an alliance-wide basis and we share an ops calendar between us too. In short, we make our own fun and look for other guilds we can share the time and game with whose company we enjoy. We still all maintain our own slightly different way of doing things and our own identities, but we often share our events and fun and use our common pool of players and sometimes resources to make our time more enjoyable. It also allows for each of our guilds to grow or diminish without losing the ability to retain players as we can still get groups going between us. We also go out of our way to say hello and welcome anyone from the alliance when out and about in-game and will give them deals/items that we would not otherwise offer to others. TL;DR Going alright, we made ourselves and alliance with other guilds to act as a buffer and larger pool of players as and when needed. It's worked out rather well for all involved and has kept us active and interested.
  11. Had this thought myself, although didn't take it as far as you have in thinking it out. I doubt it'll ever happen as the game seems very much based around two factions, but I would love an expansion that introduced a third. The Hutt Cartel would be my first thought too. I quite like the ideas for classes that you've come up with. Not sure it would work because of the need to have people roll and level up chars on a third side before they could be used against the other two, but I suppose the addition of a new faction would have both empire and republics both re-rolling at once to it to see. TL;DR Love the idea, never going to happen.
  12. Akamai is a CDN, probably the biggest on the planet. They have mirrored services all over the world. Idea being is that you give them files to host and they make it available to all the areas you specify on servers local to that area that specialise in bandwidth and throughput. Some customers you may have heard of: Apple, Amazon, AMD, Adobe, Blizzard, Facebook, AVG, BBC iPlayer, The White House, Al Jazeera, etc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akamai_Technologies The reason you have a lower-latency connection to the game servers is because they use a CDN and don't have you download everything off them also. The fact they are using Akamai gives you a much better service and as far as big brands go, they're the biggest in that sector. If I were to bet money on which worked better - EA/Bioware Servers or Akamai CDN..... I know which my money would be on and I'm glad they do it the way they do. You could also make up further complaints based on the fact Blizzard uses them so they must be copying WoW again.
  13. Pre 1.2 I got a crit on my first try at a rakata relic. I was using Lord Scourge and had affection of around 3k with him at the time. I have tried twice since with different relics post-1.2 with no success. However, I would suggest doing the same as I intend to do - wait until after 1.3 and use an augment-kit on the augment tables to add the slot to it. Even if it costs ~25k it'll be cheaper than going for the RNG on the items on average.
