  1. I like the new template for the site - it matches the launcher and feels a bit smoother. One thing that *would* be nice, would be too see fewer ads on the site saying 'Buy the Game Now'. I feel like if I'm logged in and a key has been assigned to my account, I should not still be seeing 'Buy the Game Now' on the forums and main site pages. It's a minor thing, of course, but with the new template, the ads stand out a bit more. Also, my own opinion, on the forum topic lists (e.g. http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=255), it's not as easy to pick out specific topics as you scroll down. On the previous template, it was easy to scroll down quickly and find strings of text that match what you were looking for (just general browsing). On the new template, with everything so dark and all of the text contrasting so well (not a bad thing in itself), it 'feels' like there's a lot more text, and it's harder to quickly scan titles/descriptions. Just my two cents - overall, I like the makeover
  2. Mobs in PvE rotate to face whoever they aggro. If solo'ing, you will need to make sure your companion keeps aggro (Kaliyo is great for this with the right timing). Remember that double hidden-strike isn't viable in PvE because Cloaking Screen pulls you and your companion out of combat as soon as you throw it, forcing the mob to reset. Depending on the amount of damage you dish out, I wouldn't expect to spend all your time behind enemies - but with the right timing with your companion, you can certainly spend enough time behind enemies to do what you need to do. In PvE groups, it's the same thing - as long as someone else is holding aggro, you can get behind the target to throw your backstab and/or hidden strike. In this case, stealthing for a second hidden strike is possible. Also, for Ops/FP's: Not something you would use in PvP, really, so thought I'd mention it in case you didn't know. Not only do we have a battle rez, but we have an out-of-combat rezz, as well - with the only cooldown being that of Cloaking Screen. Pop your CScreen, then right click your teammate to revive. Downside is that on some bosses, particularly Soa and other bosses that may give off AoE damage - this won't work, as taking damage puts you back in combat. BUT, if nothing else, it's another way to look at CScreen - you may want to save your CScreen, instead of using it for an extra HS.
  3. Agreed with the OP. I don't *like* to complain, and I truly want to see this game go well. I love the Star Wars universe, love the futuristic setting. But as was mentioned, this is feels like no more than a re-skinned WoW - which was what I was hoping it would *not* be. As far as the nerfs go - I can understand that perhaps our burst damage was too high, meriting the first nerf. But the changes in 1.2 are ridiculous. You want to nerf something? Nerf the BH DPS. They're still coming out on top with DPS. I'm one of the people that has chosen to stay with TOR for a while longer, since it *is* a young game. But I've been playing games for a lot longer than TOR or WoW - as far back as Anarchy Online in 2001 - and using the "This game is only 4 months old" excuse will only help EA for so long. I've seen games in Alpha and Beta testing stages that are more 'complete' than TOR is. Balance is, of course, one of those things that can be difficult to manage. But is rewarding stupid people (the people that run out ALONE in pvp and whine that they didn't see the oper coming and died) with a nerf to classes they don't like REALLY the right way to go? I have no doubt that everything will calm down 2 or 3 years from now - my issue is that if it takes 2 or 3 years for this game to finally be properly balanced, I will have already left to other games. TSW and GW2 are both coming out soon, and both sound very tempting! Please, Bioware - work harder on full balance of classes!
  4. I said it over and over to try and make a point, and to see how many more people would say "Wait, so my credits are gone?!?!" instead of reading previous posts I do not work for BW. If I was, I might be too ashamed to get on these forums right now ...
  5. You shouldn't plan your day around being outside for 12 hours. Go play a game!
  6. Agreed, but my thinking is that, since all of our inventory items and credits were still available after the 4hr patch - and guild repair funds were also available. So surely nothing was corrupted.
  7. Welcome to EA Games. Everything they touch becomes tainted, so why should you be surprised that TOR is having problems? BW is owned by EA now, and is forced to roll out content before it's ready, without proper testing. But I have great news for you - Guild Wars 2 beta starts soon!
  8. Your credits should be fine - It's unlikely any guild items or credits are actually gone. Credits/items/character data is stored in databases - and this problem seems to be with world layout/terrain/etc. Guild repair funds, inventory items, and credits were also available after the 4hr patch, further proving that credits, etc shouldn't be affected.

  10. Used all that rage? Rage never helps anyone or anything, because it adversely affects your judgment. "Passion" might be a better description. I know if I were to rage at my governor for supporting SOPA, I'd be arrested >.>
