  1. 600k+ is a typical Voidstar for my Pyrotech Powertech not the typical warzone.
  2. I feel bad for marauders. They are the hardest class to play with the least utility of all classes and its a big deal if you hit over 700k in lolvoidstar? I'm surprised if I don't hit 600k, average about 700k and topping out so far at 835k in voidstar with a solo que and no stims, adrenals, etc. They really need to buff you guys, lol.
  3. Just give us an option in the preferences to switch back to one of the older UI builds (read: the first one that didn't need changing).
  4. lol you couldn't be more wrong. Pyrotech powertech is second only to the hybrid spec sorcerer which is getting nerfed next patch leaving pyro as top dps.
  5. This. Coming from someone who has both of these classes at 50 I can assure you that powertechs should not be running the ball. If your playing powertech tank for pvp and you get in a Huttball your role should be to guard the Juggernaut tank (if available) who has MUCH better tools to score than powertechs. If the Juggernaut is in the correct PVP spec, they will more than likely have Unstoppable which makes them immune to all movement stuns, slows and snares for 4 seconds as well as damage taken -20% after they leap -- which can be combined with force push to reset your leap timer for another 4 seconds of immunity/defense after that. The Juggernaut tank also has better defensive cooldowns then powertech.
  6. Thank you for testing this. I really hope they fix this and give us that bonus 30% to corrosive grenade. I also REALLY hope they increase the range of corrosive grenade from 5 meters to 8 to be in line with fragmentation grenade.
  7. You're not shieldtech... You are playing with the ST/PT tree I can see incendiary missile on your loadout. The problem is that there is no benefit to going 31 ST because the majority of damage mitigation for pvp (think 90% or more) can be achieved by only having 7 points in shieldtech--and the only skill thats really useful in the tree is Jet Charge. This is why the Carolina Parakeet build is as useful as it is--you are more or less a tank in terms of utility, teamplay and survivability but you also damage like a strict dps player. They need to put skills deep in the shieldtech, immortal, and darkness trees that buff the tank stances and simultaneously nerf the tank stances so that they are not as useful as they are now. Perhaps they should add that buff to the tank stance on the final tree talents to go along with the ability you get at 31. This way the tanks are able to mitigate around the same damage they mitigate now if they truly want to be a tank. I understand this would kill certain dual-spec builds; but, fixing trees to be usable should be a priority over having dual specs useful. This would give people a legitimate reason to spec into tank.
  8. Here is a random screenshot I pulled from a folder. http://imageshack.us/f/33/swtor20120107113912302.jpg/ I have about 30 or 40 more if you really require further investigation as to my level. and LOL this is ridiculous what about this is uncivilized discussion: "This build might be going extinct faster than the Carolina Parakeet. The changes they are making in 1.1b or 1.2 (not announced which) that change shielding to effect elemental, kinetic and force damage will more than likely make this build a superior dual spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#30...boMZrsMrobZo.1 So you might want to start thinking of some witty names for this one. lol" I'm done trying to help people in this thread; obviously I'm only going to be trolled by a guy who's favorite retort is "If you want I could explain my point" instead of actually explaining it; something I on the other hand took the time to do. I'll keep answering questions about this build in PMs. I'm sorry for letting this silly pitty-patty derail this thread which IS a superior build and the best dual tree build for powertech as it stands in the current build of the game. Thanks.
  9. I don't need you to explain pyrotech to me, I average about 400k damage/35k guard per warzone without biochem and with only 2 pieces of champion gear. I don't know what your definition of raging is, but to me if you jump in on a civilized discussion and throw unprovoked insults and troll statements such as "Are you even 50 yet?", I'd say thats raging. How is CC not a form of survivability, if your opponent is rendered useless one would assume they couldn't do damage to you, yes? And isn't survivability taking less damage or completely negating it? All I was trying to do in this thread was inform people about a possible change for the ideal build after an update; yet you disregard any merit based off the fact that either: A. You haven't tested it yourself B. You weren't aware of the build/didn't think of it yourself. C. Can't comprehend the build by looking at it or by me explaining it to you as simple as I could, which was literally typing out what to do and what the advantages are. edit: Also please link to me where I had "an aggressive attitude" in my post.
  10. Your asking if I'm trolling yet your a forum rager who loses his **** because someone types that a build could be superior after an update? What about this build doesn't make sense? Did you read my post? This needs to be tested. It needs to be tested because your rocket punch coming off cooldown because of shield is going to be MUCH more prevalent when shields have a chance to block 3 to 4 times the attacks that are currently blockable that you will actually see used against you in a pvp setting. How is the heat management not better? You don't burn 30 heat on incendiary missile; you spend 16 on retractable blade, your rocket punch is free just like railshot is free in the other build. Your relying on rocket punch to reset the timer on your railshot as well which is another 25 heat. All you spam for DPS in this build is flame burst until you trigger your free rocket punch and retractable blade as well as the occasional flame sweep for grouped enemies. The other main draw of this build is that you don't spend superfluous points just to advance in the tree which means your fire effects crit chance is 6% higher, your flameburst deals 6% more damage, your cylinder deals 8% more damage, your grapplehook comes off cooldown 10 seconds faster, your electro dart comes off cooldown 10 seconds faster, and the best improvement is your Quell comes off cooldown 2 seconds faster which is invaluable against healers and some DPS such as tracer missile spammers, inquis lightning spam, etc. This is compared to 3 to 5 points depending on how you look at it that are either worthless to you or only partially used to its full effect in the ST/PT build. Care to answer how your survivability isn't better when you have stuns that come off cooldown faster and an ability that stops channeling damage that comes off cooldown faster as well?
  11. There is a thread about pvp on the PTR (ptr is 1.1 at the moment) and through testing people are reporting that in duels shield is now blocking other damage types.
  12. Because the PT/AP build is light years ahead in heat management it also provides more survivability and utility for pvp. You don't need 'filler' skills like unload that you have to use because you'll run up your heat too fast if you don't use them. Again, this is hypothetical and hasn't been tested that much--but, its likely to be the superior build.
  13. This build is probably going to go extinct faster than the Carolina Parakeet. The changes they are making in 1.1b or 1.2 (not announced which) that change shielding to effect elemental, kinetic and force damage will more than likely make this build a superior dual spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMGrbMboMZrsMrobZo.1 So you might want to start thinking of some witty names for this one. lol
  14. Powertech is not bad at all in warzones... I hit 521k damage today in a Voidstar without Biochem and with only 2 pieces of champion gear.
  15. I was wondering if there was anyone else on the forums with worse luck than me. =P I'm currently sitting at 52 valor with only the head and body piece. I've also done three weeks worth of dailies and I've done every single daily for around 17 days now. I'm seriously considering just getting the level 60 valor bags from here on out and opening all of them when I hit 60. Anyone out there with a worse record?
