  1. Will the component selection of the premium ships affect their appearance at some point? It seems like the premium ships are actually getting less for the extra cost. The new ship models are nice, it'd just be nice to see all ships with the same level of customization.
  2. The Chiss have the perfect tanking rifles for us even.. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Charric
  3. I'll remember that. Twi'lek in question is a dark side pirate/smuggler so I'd have to defect to get it.
  4. Where are these new masks, being shown in many of the screenshots, obtained? http://cdn-www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/en/cb/2013_thumbs/vice_commandant/bloodhusk_lylek_854x480.jpg I have an interested Twi'lek who dreams of a non-clipping mask
  5. Considering there are blaster rifle models that look like they should be classified as sniper rifles, I'm sure powertechs could be given some medium-sized orange/custom variants. Blaster carbine-pistols or sub-machinegun-sized blasters that are classified as pistol weapons. Not every powertech is going to rock the single pistol like Jango vs Mace Windu (even though he was more of a Merc shortly before that in that movie) examples: Boba's blaster carbine: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tBRtwbHJyEM/TPzBp2yaM-I/AAAAAAAABZk/Al4PqxxXTjI/s1600/boba.jpg E-11 Blaster Rifle: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060724231747/starwars/images/thumb/7/7d/E-11_NEGWT.jpg/250px-E-11_NEGWT.jpg IG-88's blaster rifle: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090523144122/starwars/images/1/17/DLT-20A_TCWCG.jpg
  6. Please add a default LFG channel. General during peak hours is made useless by 'fun' spam at this point. Spamming on a LFG channel should have stronger penalties attached. At the very least it could be given a time delay for posting. People should be allowed to converse on General about most things. We still need a way to actively communicate group needs if we decide to opt out of General.
  7. It refers to the 'Forum Handle' you gave your account. You won't have to login with character names.
  8. Adaptive armor set and speeders themed around the Hutt Cartel, Exchange, and particularly Black Sun would be nice.
  9. Open world PVP shouldn't be restricted to one zone or planet. There could be a bounty rating/amount applied to any players who chooses to pvp in non-battleground locations. This rating would accrue for everyone a player kills, who has some degree of bounty rating on them. They would take some of that player's rating (% of their total rating) for landing the killing blow. You could have the system work like ranked warzones where players have access to exclusive items: armor sets, weapons, and unique titles. Killing low-levels/innocents would degrade your rating quickly. There would be a scaling penalty based on the difference between your level and their level. For example, ganking someone 30 levels below you is going to take a lot more rating away than someone 10 levels below you. Anyone within 5 would be exempt from that penalty. World PVP dailies could be given out, to kill publicly bountied 'solo' NPCs and 'group' Bosses in PVP zones (e.g. Outlaw's den). These would reward some credits, rating, and enhanced bonus for group world pvp. These would also bring active pvpers to the zone. Player kills would still reward more, a % of their total bounty rating. Same faction kills would push your ranking up higher as those Empire/Republic wouldn't tolerate traitors and those players would be bigger targets. Players on PVE realms who go over some low ranking threshold (500) should have their pvp flag locked on (while they are worth something/have a rating). If they can switch their flag on and off while pvping out in the world it sort of defeats the system. This way you could fight/collect on players with bounties pretty much anywhere. This wouldn't be a system where players could put credit bounties on other players.
  10. They need to put in challenge mode versions of the FPs for those who wish to skip all content, bonus bosses. That is the type of content they should be running not the version for those leveling. It's getting to the point that no one clears the flashpoint.. just look for the quickest way to avoid mobs and get to the end. All leveling FPs should have completion bonuses on them. The closer you are to 100% completion, the better end loot you receive. I'd rather spend time fighting content than hugging walls to skip it.
  11. Of course it'd be voluntary, if you don't go after bounty targets you'd never have a bounty put on you. You could ignore the system totally if you didn't want to participate. The system would reward players who want to participate and who will take the risk.
  12. Here are a few things: 1. When another race is brought in, phase out the cyborgs as a standalone race selection and make cybernetics an option for every race. Right now the cyborgs are too human to really be a different race. Another option would be to have cyborg be a 'sub-racial' choice for every race at character creation. There would then be technically 8 races but only 4 different base races. Each race would have a toggle to be a cyborg or not, which would change a few things up (like racial abilities). Chiss cyborg would be great. 2. Add a bounty system for all players. It should also have a decaying renown/karma system attached. The renown could be something that relates to traitorous and loyal actions against your faction. You could betray your faction or stay loyal, depending on the faction of the bounties you take. There would be some sort of faction spread throughout the galaxy (e.g. mandalorian clan-hutt conglomerate) posting these bounties (from unknown republic/empire employers) and eventual rewards like sliced GTN credit chips (large balances) and premium content(ship housing upgrades/new companions/mount/rare custom gear/titles/etc.) Players would be given a number of randomized bounties on every planet by this faction. Players would have the choice to take bounties on Republic or Imperial NPC from this conglomerate faction. These quests would reward the player with a renown increase/decrease and credits/random rewards. The faction of the NPC you killed would place a bounty on the player's head and make you bounty-flagged to all other players. It'd give you a bounty status, similar to being PVP flagged, which disappears when your bounty is collected (you are killed - No one could just log out and wait out a timer). Players who collect on bounty-flagged players would get a decent renown gain in the direction they are leaning (loyal/traitor). Players with traitorous renown and an active bounty could be collected by both factions, so you'd be hunted by Republic and Imperial players. The traitorous rewards would be possibly a bit more attractive than their safer loyalist counterparts but you'd need to risk that increased PVP to get the rewards. Some players may prefer to RP loyalist and not worry as much about rewards. Every daily/weekly NPC would be scaled to the player's level (much like the recent event bosses) so it'd bring players of every level to some lower level planets. e.g. Renown Scale: +1000 Loyal - - Neutral (Starting Point) - +1000 Traitor
  13. 1) Yes or No to Cathar being the new race? Sure 2) If Yes, why? If No, why not? They fit with the Republic no doubt, but as an Empire option we would see racial hatred on the streets of Dromund Kaas, considering how much influence the Mandalorians have. The two could not cohabitate. 3) If Yes, Species you would also like to see, if any? If No, Species you would rather see, if any? The vote thread for races says it all (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=479757). The top results are all too similar to Twi'lek for me though. (I know they are different races) >> Kel Dor. They'd easily fit into a Republic or Empire story. You don't need to worry about masks/helms on them, they are impressive enough without them.. or just change the voice modulation when you get a new helm maybe. 4) Do you feel Cathar are too Republic aligned to fit well as a section for the Empire? Yes, but if the player unlocked them they could go Imperial Cathar. 5) Do you feel Cathar like most already implemented species resemble humans to greatly? I'd like to see them a bit more on the Kilrathi fearsome side than humanoid, but they are fine. 6) Addition Pro/Cons towards or against Cathar? none.
  14. 4 classes which are non-combat would bloat character selection for a niche selection. It'd be good for RPers but if they were going to add a purely social class it'd be more likely 1 class ('socialite'/citizen) at character creation with a larger number of advanced classes. You'd choose the character ability set there rather than having it all up front. Another way to look at social classes. What if social classes were added to all combat characters but added an optional layer to their character? Each character would have a combat class and a social class attributed to them. Social rank could unlock more than just the adaptive gear vendors (before Legacy becomes available). They could choose this extended social class, which would be themed off their advanced class. Maybe each could provide unique abilities (not just emotes) that are useful while investigating the world. They wouldn't give you any sort of combat advantage but could make drastic quality of life changes for your character. e.g. Sith Sorceror - - Sith Alchemist Has bonus research trees for Biochem, Investigation, Diplomacy, etc. Social class trade-related player crit buffs. (only one social buff active at a time) - - Sith Archeologist Has bonus research trees for Archeology, Artifice, Treasure Hunting, etc. Social class trade-related player crit buffs. (only one social buff active at a time)
  15. I have both an Operative and a Sniper, both feel rewarding. The main difference is while leveling Operatives are able to take on par level quests/bosses, since they are able to heal their companions. Snipers may have to overlevel content if they can't down some tougher elites before their companions die. It really depends on how good the character's gear is. DS Operative combat feels pretty accurate... Savagely stabbing everyone. I've played a Scoundrel too, other than the crotch kick, feels boring in comparison. Glad they aren't 100% mirrored combat styles though.
  16. If there ends up being player-owned real estate, I'd like to see it work around space/orbital stations or asteroid/moon bases. They could be much more theme independent. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=488219 e.g. A dark side Jedi Consular who chooses to control a crippled/abandoned imperial space station and turn it into a laboratory or research themed facility. That player-owned real estate should be able to offer their own story arcs and associated mini games or 'farmville'/EVE-queue style economic activities/income. You could sent your excess crew members to complete day-week long 'story' tasks.
  17. The time that went into creating that mail system message (with useless token) could have been better used adding alternative destination servers for those 'stuck' on origin servers because of server conflicts. We've all heard the call to move, but need proper solutions to make those moves. If alt players are the market who consistently remain with SWTOR, and aren't the ones moaning about 'lack of content', why are they being left to drown?
  18. Expansion of the namespace would help the game moving forward as well, considering we are going to all be operating on fewer servers, which are going to be densely populated with accounts. Full thoughts on how it should be expanded: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=4829584#post4829584
  19. Agreed, you can just rename, but the shortfalls in the system could be corrected to create something that improves quality of life as the game ages rather than worsens. The fact that everyone is also being directed to 'mega servers' would compound the issue as time goes by. Having 1 variable contributing to your character's unique identifier is fine but it limits the total names the system can produce. By moving to 2 variables contributing to that unique identifier you've just shifted the total possible variations on an exponential level. The chances that you run into someone with the same firstname.lastname combination is much lower unless it's some pop reference. While some first names 'in reality' would be fairly rare like Anakin, others wouldn't. By locking those more popular first names down to first-come-first-serve the naming process become overly complicated later. Requiring a player to unnecessarily bloat the name by adding excess vowels or symbols to work around it. Many of the issues caused by 'name squatting' or 'lapsed subscriptions' would also be helped by a 2 part name. I'm not saying renaming isn't the quicker solution but with server mergers, possibly more character slots (per account/server) on the way, and new content pulling more players to the smaller pool of servers it's going to start to affect the player.
  20. Every player character in the game would have identifiers like: anakin.skywalker or anakin.fett or anakin.vader .. etc. It'd be a minor change to mail addressing/chat mechanics, but wouldn't expose actual Legacy to the public.
  21. Okay so I gave this some more thought, something more drastic, but would probably solve the legacy/account name privacy deal and the character namespace issues. Starting from level 1 your character has a unique identifier: firstname.lastname; Other players could make use of similar first and last names as long as the total name is not equal to your name. The legacy name would be something totally independent, but would be required to be unique, it could be tied to a character's last name in your stable of characters or it could be a more general association with them (Royal name/dynasty, Pirate/Privateer banner,etc.). There would be no way for a random player to associate your legacy to your characters. The legacy would move from being 'the last name' to just that 'optional' title under your name. Also with this system you could have varied character names in your overall legacy. e.g. Skywalker Legacy "Anakin Skywalker (married to) Padmé Amidala" "(unsure on real first name) Senator Palpatine (ally to either, moves to rival later)" "Obi-Wan Kenobi (ally to Anakin, moves to rival later)" etc.. There should be an option to hide your last name displayed over your head so you could vary the display of your titles... Anakin Skywalker the Stalwart vs Anakin the Destructive. All other identifiers would be uniform.
  22. Why not just open the server transfers to other destinations and get those players off the origins with as little headache as possible? Players with character/realm collision issues need a solution before being "automatically moved to designated destination servers". What happens if those automated transfers take over and 8 characters are forced onto the destination server that could have up to 8 already allocated.. Are we going to have characters that aren't visible/playable? Are we going to have characters overwritten or dropped because the transfers go beyond the allowed limits? (bugging the automated method) A second wave of free open transfers (for origin servers) sounds better than a headache of technical problems and required queues of character recovery.
  23. There seems to be a fair number of players affected (being one of them). It'd be far easier to offer the remaining players a transfer to an alternate server where there is no character collision. Then at least they'd be able to reallocate those now dead servers to the superserver setup faster. The time/energy involved in adding the resources for every sub to have extra slots is definitely justified. Getting the lesser number of subs who had server/character conflicts off to another destination would probably take a fraction of that time though.
