  1. It depends on what sort of content you want to play. I run a lot of operations and flashpoints and I prefer to be able to play all roles for my toons. I use field respec to switch quite a bit and I try to have equivalent-level gear for all roles on my toons. I use legacy gear and weapons for that. I also have a lot of alts. There have been many times I've needed to swap roles in my groups. I'd rather stay on my current toon for that than swap to another one if the toon can play either role, especially if I want to farm CXP on that toon and such.
  2. The longest recurring subscription available is 6 months (180 days), not 12 months. To see what you do have and to edit/cancel it: 1. Go to the My SWTOR page at https://account.swtor.com/user and log in if needed. 2. Near the top of this page is a My Game section, and under that is 'Edit Subscription'. Click that link to go to the subscriptions page. 3. There are subscription choices here and the one you currently do have is marked with a grey 'Subscribed' box. If you want to change to a different subscription period rather than cancel, click the 'Buy Now' button on one of the other choices. 4. At the very bottom of this Subscriptions page (you may need to scroll down) is the link to cancel your subscription where it mentions the Free to Play option. If you do make changes to your subscription time it won't start until your current subscribed period runs out. If you cancel you still have a subscription up until the game time you already paid for runs out, and then you won't be billed again and will move to Preferred status.
  3. I've had this happen a few times too and so have a few others I know. The missing item will show up if you close the command stash window and re-open it with Ctrl+i. Yes it's annoying but has a quick workaround.
  4. The PvE and PvP set bonuses from 4.0 were the same, and both versions are compatible with the 5.0 pieces. So yes you can keep adding to or upgrading your existing set bonuses with any new 5.0 pieces you get. Assuming they wouldn't mix with this new expansion was a reasonable assumption because before this last expansion, set bonuses were not compatible between expansions that I recall.
  5. In the past they've been offered for a week and are then removed with the next reset on Tuesday, same as with most 'featured' items on the CM. If you want them I'd recommend getting them before the next reset - so, today. EDIT: Apparently they are now gone from the CM.
  6. Personally I enjoy the HK-51 quest chain (love the Theoretika) and always do it on toons I want him on rather than paying to unlock him. I want the option to either do the chain or pay to unlock him to both remain as they are. There's been too many other quest-related items removed over the past couple of years that should have been kept IMO.
  7. Much as I'm hoping that won't be the case, the cynical side of me feels this is more along the lines of how it will go. My own record is 32 or so boxes opened across 3 toons and 1 set piece so far. I may have been excited and curious about the GC point system the first few boxes but not now. I'll consider it a pleasant surprise if I open a crate later and get a set piece, but otherwise I'm putting mods into legacy gear if they're an upgrade and disintegrating half of what I get most of the time. I've decided I'm going to level all my toons to 70 and play them as I feel like it, run through the story and keep running events with my guilds. What keeps me playing the game is the people I enjoy playing with. As long as that keeps me happy I'll stay. But I'm not going to spend much extra effort grinding CXP on any toon right now because I feel the return on investment is not worth my time. Several years ago I might have done it but not now.
  8. Originally I hadn't planned to do the event at all because I had all the corresponding achievements in my legacy anyway, and then I figured... why not try it. I got my Legendary back in early October. I credit that to having guildies on both factions that are willing to help out others as needed. One of my guilds is extremely quiet when it's not our ops nights so I definitely understand and feel for the people that haven't been able to get groups for what they needed.
  9. They were listed under Blizz when he was first recruitable and then they disappeared in another patch after that. It was never announced so their removal might have been a bug, but they haven't been restored there yet either. I know I've done them all as well.
  10. I still played WoW back when they introduced the mail delay several years ago, and I recall they did state in their forums it was to give them more time to intercept and deal with gold laundering. I assume the SWTOR crew figured it was a good feature to have as well.
  11. If you're wondering about completing the Gree part of the event in particular, there's already a thread on this topic. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=900193 If you still need that achievement for the event, then unfortunately it's no longer possible to get before the DvL event ends next week. While people starting now may not be able to get as far as they'd like before then, this event has been running since late June. It's still possible to complete the pre-Legendary tiers at least.
  12. I had a similar experience on one of my alts recently. Pretty sure the cause of it was that I had the questline for the Revan flashpoints (Taral V/Boarding Party/etc) in my quest log at the time. No idea why that would have caused it, but if you have that questline in your log finish it and then try again.
  13. it depends on what you've done on the toon since you created it. Here's an earlier thread on it that might answer your question. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=879868
  14. I spend my common crystals on Rank 6 gifts on Odessen too. The transport unlock for Odessen can only be purchased on level 55+ toons though. If they're not that high then you can buy Rank 5 gifts with crystals on the fleet.
  15. The above sums up my own concerns pretty well too. The CM item stash helped a lot with the current-toon-can't-use-something issue but only if you opened a pack after it was launched. I'm using a wait-and-see approach myself since I've found a fair number of features that have been introduced over time were things I ended up being ok with. But for the GC system - until they release more information on the chances of items dropping, the closest experience I have on how it might work is the gear boxes from quest rewards and heroics as I leveled my newest toons. It was fairly common for me to get items I already had for that toon, and there were some gear slots I didn't get out of the crates until many levels later. WIth those loot boxes it wasn't a huge deal for me because I have crafting coverage such that I could easily make something if needed. Which BW is trying to address to some extent with the crafting changes coming along with the new system. The part that concerns me the most is that the gear out of the crates will be the set bonus gear that will help in things like HM operations, which I do with my guilds. And the fact that I tend to have bad luck with RNG rolls. While I didn't mind getting duplicates out of the leveling loot crates, I WILL mind if the same thing happens a lot while I'm trying to build up set gear. If the GC crates dropped tokens I would be more ok with that (since I have a lot of alts with legacy gear), but we'll see how it goes.
