  1. I've got a question about guilds and faction focus. Is it more common for guilds to play both factions or just pick one faction? My current guild splits their time between factions and maybe just slightly favors Imperials a tiny bit. I mostly really like my guild (great people), but I get left out of a lot of guild activities because I only play Republic (I didn't enjoy being a mean bad guy) and I prefer to only play one main toon (eventually decided 1 maxed out monster > 10+ scrubs). If I were to quit my current guild, is it realistic that I would easily find a large, well-run guild that only focuses only on the Republic faction?

  3. I'm having trouble with the "Unassembled Tokens" vendor on fleet, trying to upgrade my 242 gear to 248 gear. I have collected both tanking gear and DPS gear (I switch back and forth between specs). I wanted to upgrade my tanking earpiece which is in my inventory, but he ignored that and instead he took my DPS earpiece out of my cargo hold (which was super annoying). I was in tank spec and wearing tank gear at the time (I double checked that afterwards because I wondered if that mattered). So my question for everyone is.....if you own multiple sets of gear is there any way to control or predict which gear the vendor is going to take to upgrade?
  4. Is it worth the effort to gear alts under Galactic Command or is it now better to focus on one main character??? My main is at rank 150 and I recently started working on an alt too. Got the alt to rank 50 and began to wonder if this might be a bad idea - splitting my time, this is going to take forever and I may just end up with 2 half geared characters instead of one good one.
  5. If I plan to switch back and forth between roles often (like tank/DPS or healer/DPS)…. Is it better to have one main character and continually respec on the one character? Or is it better to create a second / alt character, have each character serve one role, and then switch between characters depending on which character's role is needed?
  6. I'm struggling to find a better way to handle changing my spec/role. I've only tried it a couple times - I was in a raid group and needed to switch from tank spec/role to DPS spec/role because we had too many tanks. Making this switch feels really clunky in the UI - automatically losing/replacing ability buttons from my quickbar, reorganizing my quickbar, having to reset all my Combat Proficiencies, manually swap gear. I can't help but think this should all be done by a simple toggle switch/button somewhere - which makes me think I could be missing something (SWTOR is my only MMO experience). Does any body have any good tips for making changing specs/roles on the fly go smoother and quicker??? Or do people even do that switch - is it better to just switch to a totally different toon/character if you need a different spec/role???
  7. Can't seem to connect to Shadowlands today. I can get past the login. But then it hangs either after I click "Play" or after I select a character. Anybody else having problems? If I so, how do we report this to Bioware?
  8. I've been hearing that as of update 4.0, all healers should be no longer be using Power color crystals, but now should be using Critical color crystals instead - because of something to do with changes they made to Critical/Surge (I honestly didn't understand the complicated math-filled explanation I heard). Is that really true? And if it is, are the Power crystals now useless?
  9. I know this is an old thread, but I just came across it and wanted to throw in my 2 cents in case it could help someone. I was having a TON of trouble jumping to get some of the datacrons, getting REALLY frustrated, and was starting to think the game/jumping must be broken somehow. I suppose it's possible that one's computer could play a some role in making jumping easier or harder - my machine is average....quad core, 8GB RAM, 1GB GPU.....and I run the game on Medium graphics quality. And I suppose it's possible there may be some bugs here or there or maybe some engine imperfections. But for me, the problem ended up being that I did not know how to jump correctly. I know that saying "I don't know how to jump correctly" could sound totally ridiculous to some people (it did to me), but in my case that was 100% true. I've seen a lot of people saying the problem is that people don't know how to jump, but not a lot of tips on how to jump correctly (unfortunately, there was a lot of unhelpful insults instead). So I want to share what I started doing differently that helped me be able to jump to get some of the more challenging datacrons. As best I can tell there seems to be two kinds of jumps: 1.) Jump then push forward (for short jumps); 2.) Move and jump (for long jumps). The second one, move and jump for long jumps, was the jump that I originally could not do (and was starting to think was broken somehow). But then I started doing these two things differently: 1.) Turned OFF Sprint; 2.) Started jumping EARLIER than it seemed like I needed to. I discovered that when I had to move and jump for a long jump I was always jumping too late. Jumping at the correct time seems too early to me and doing it correctly still looks and feels wrong to me. But I've learned that's what I have to do to if I want to make the long jumps. So if you're having trouble with your jumps, try experimenting with those 2 things and keep in mind that what initially looks and feels correct to you may NOT be what actually works. If anyone else has tips on jumping please share them here. I'm Obigan (Jortell Legacy) on the Shadowlands server - feel free to say hello if you see me around.
  10. I fought Rackghouls for about an hour (including the big red-colored silver elites) and could NOT get infecfted. Then I read this thread and Reset the mission. After resetting, I fought three small normal groups, and still no luck. But then I fought a big red-colored silver elite next and FINALLY got infected. He was located at... X:-667, Y:-323, Z:-126. So I do think hitting Reset on the mission is the key. And you still may not get bitten right way. I'm not sure if finding the big red-colored silver elite was necessary to be bitten or if it was just coincidence. Maybe normal onces can bite you too....but I'm not sure based on my experience.
