  1. Hi all, I agree to expand the planets etc. would be a good idea. I created a similar post in 2017 around this very thing: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=935330&highlight=Expand We have seen some of this appear in-game however expanding the existing planets is certainly something the devs should be exploring even more as it would make it interesting for each planet. More content being included that we can interact with; new dailies, crafting missions, changing weather that increases difficulties in-game, pvp areas that we can use the terrain as a weapon against the opposition. Hoth for where we could have a returning event in which we battle the pirates in attack vehicles across the snowy terrain, i.e. through high mountain passes. Snow tunnels where we have to stem the tide of incoming attacks from Wampas burrowing under faction encampments. Such things would could be linked to rewards that also enable the player to achieve specific weapons, armour, relics, vehicles, craftable materials, ratings etc. Tattoine for example - lots more that could be done and explored on that planet. Most people have seen the pod racing across the canyons, having something like this could be fun: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/7/78/ITW1_Boonta_Circuit.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090321182855 Sandpeople raiding parties attacking areas could be another daily or a larger type event. Having a wandering class barge on Tatooine as a floating stronghold or trading area again could be something different. On Manan, there could be underwater missions, Kolto harvesting. We could have the world boss event underwater where attacks are made via submarine attack vehicles against the progenitor world boss, as an example. We could also have little snippets included into the game for people to find, new areas opened-up, something new added, a specific type of weapon, armour, tuning etc. hidden somewhere on a planet that normally you would need to grind for in order to achieve it. These type of achievements would be random across the planet and for the treasure hunter, this could be a challenge to find it. We all know the daily grind can be a little boring once you've reached the level cap so bringing more content to each planet could keep people interested. So there are lots that can be done, it's really down to how much time, effort and cost it's going to mean for the devs etc. to bring such things to life. Regards, Kren
  2. Hi, Given that some people have many toons (me being one of them) it would be useful to additional information associated with that character by rolling over the character name in question or having the ability to select what you feel you want to see. For example: * See the crafting skill attributed to the character on the front screen, this way you could easily see this information and select the right character rather than having to cycle through them. * The role of each character (DPS, healer and tank). Given that we can customise what we can see with the interface editor perhaps being able to customise the initial screen might also be worth examining? Cheers Kren
  3. Hi All, I would like to see if you have reached the max cap for the chosen crew skill players are provided with the ability to save this as an option within the character sheet rather than lose it if you want to choose a different Crew Skill. This would give the player the ability to swap across the crew skills on that character. The would allow each character to swap to the crew skills they want to rather than having to start afresh. This ability/function would only be available upon reaching the max level for each crew skill. It would also be useful to have a different inventory or stash specifically for crafted items outside of the main inventory. This would serve the purpose of keeping such items in their own area whilst the main inventory can be used for other purposes. Regards, Kren
  4. Hi Guys, A lot of the planets have many areas to explore including buildings and some of these are vast and have areas which could be opened-up with new content. Exploration of buildings, having floors to visit, skyline vistas would make things more immersive. We see a lot of traffic in the skies on the respective planets therefore why can't we have content on moving ships (freighters, passenger transports etc.) where there could be solo, H2/4 content to complete? On planets with buildings why not open these up, we have access to a small degree however moving between floors, fighting on roof tops, through jungle expanses, across space stations, boarding large starships either PVE and PVP would be better. The content could be made more diverse and richer by including seasons, foliage, different animals could make things more interesting. The use of underground structures, tunnels, areas where you can engage against the opposition, mine underneath their structures to gain the objective whilst the enemy is attempting to destabilise the tunnels and force them to collapse, flood etc. Planetary exploration missions where additional missions random rotate. Sure keep the fixed dailies but have content especially for end-game content which is refreshed and updated. We've all seen Bespin, having something like this in SWTOR would be quite good. The intro for SWTOR deceived trailer, we've never seen that mirrored in-game, that would be great battle to include in PVE or PVP content. Likewise when Arcan was battle Sith and Jedi forces that would make for content to mirror that conflict as an operation, flashpoint etc. Faction and guild incursions into planets of the opposite faction which run like the Gree-events etc. would make it more interesting, the longer you hold it the greater the reward as you need to hold-out against greater odds. Include drop/attack ships mirroring content in GSF to tie in planet content would be useful. Flying towards enemy positions under a barrage of fire whilst dropping groups (heroic 4) into that territory to loot and damage enemy held areas. Attacking stations, landing on them, securing key areas would all make for interesting and different approach to such content. We have vast areas on the fleet which are dead zones, pretty graphics but not used, again we have a space station where additional content could be opened-up, incoming attacks from different factions against the respective stations, incursions into key strategic areas of the fleet to obtain dark/light-side points would also be interesting. We have guild ships so why not have content where a guild-ship or groups of the same faction attack the opposite faction of the opposite planet and their ships, who racks-up the most points receive greater rewards individually and for the guild. Whilst I am all up for new planets, more flashpoints lets include them on existing planets/stations etc. and make the use of these. Kren
  5. For me I would like to see the following: PVE More features within each planet for exploration, i.e. new areas of the map. For example on Belsavis the map is huge and there are buildings/locations off the map which could be used for expansion. The main capital planets have a wide array of images portraying buildings etc. and yet no of these are accessible. Having access to such buildings for say artefact collecting (not crating btw.) that are applicable to each race/character type would be useful and in higher levels they help boost CXP, light/dark side affiliation would be good. An ability to explore the universe with your ship, visiting colonies within larger asteroids and undertaking quests on them, farming in space for crafting materials. The creation of your own ships from schematics (hulls, weapons, shields etc.). Transportation of goods across shipping lanes and battles/boarding of large capitol ships, this could all give a new spin on any new storyline/expansion. Having more planets/space stations appearing with expansions. At the moment we have a primary space station however smaller stations with there own quest areas and defense turrets for incoming enemy incursions would be useful. Guilds currently hold planets however having the ability of take over areas of space depending which side you are on would be really useful and tie nicely with the current light/dark side points system etc. The initial trailer for SWTOR had sith incursion when they returned to Korriban, why not have the same for different areas of space. Having more control of your surroundings, for example if you are a jedi/sith the ability to lift/up throw or push objects at NPC's rather just your own abilities. Ripping-up a tree and hurling this towards a group of NPC's, or drawing a group towards you and then bury them in a landslide, pulling a group towards a river and them drowning them in a torrent of water. In conjunction with your own class abilities learning how to perform such things would put a different spin on things for each class. I would also like to see a new class, neither light or dark but grey, having the option of choosing light/dark side abilities to make up their character and as such none of the rep/imp planets would be off limits to them within their own story arc. In addition to this they would have their own core planet, similar to the Voss but not constrained by strict teachings one way or the other. PVP Battles which not only involves characters but also vehicles (transports/attack craft etc.) where you are responsible for attacking/retaining portions of the map from the opposite side. If you destroy an object (vehicle/turret/enemy) you can collect the associated crafting item. The use of NPC's in PVP so your area is not only occupied by the side you are on but also has a number of randomly spawning NPC's which if killed gives you additional commendations/points in-game and afterwards. The use of better and more engaging maps, at the moment everything is land based, why not have maps on space stations, at sea, sky cities (i.e. like Bespin) etc. For each location equipment would be specific for that scene, i.e. jet packs, grapple hooks to scale buildings depening on the class. It could help this become more immersive and likewise the same for PVE. Having PVP areas which are larger in size and can accommodate more players however given the constraints of the game engine, I am not sure if this is even possible. ------ There so much more you could do however it all depends upon the game engine, coding, costs, time and effort to expand SWTOR as we know it today. It would also be useful to understand how limiting the current game from a developers perspective, they seem to get slated whatever they do and you cannot please everyone and all the time whatever is decided upon. Have the developers reached the limit of what they can do SWTOR in it's current form and in order to truly make something more immersive a new game engine would be required and ultimately a new game? Anyway just a few ideas which would be useful from my perspective. Kren
  6. Many thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Likewise a good idea about an obstacle based map for the GSF, it would certainly be challenging to say the least. Hopefully the dev's will consider some of the points from us both. I've got some other ideas but that will be a post for another day. Regards, Kren
  7. Hi Guys, Got a few ideas for Warzones etc. Basic abilities After playing this game and other SW games it is evident that the basic abilities do not seem to be available. For example force users should have: Pull, push, throw, leap and speed. Only certain character classes have a proportion of these in-game which seems strange. This could be due to the fact that it might make the force users OP in what they can do however that could be redressed by adding jet-packs, hydraulic jumping skills, concussion bombs, grappling tools and nets (I am aware of the harpoons etc. btw) to non-force classes. I do think that the developers have missed-out on providing what in essence are basic abilities which could make such classes more fun to play be that in PVP and also PVE. I know guardians etc. can leap to other players however I mean the ability to jump on a ledge, building, walkway etc. Combat could be made more immersive if such players had the ability to pull/push objects and players whilst in Warzones and arenas Warzone/Arenas As per the basic skills section the utilisation of basic skills could make wz's and arenas more immersive. The current state of PVP is geared around objectives; huttball and nodes. Whilst this is one element of combat we often see in PVE is the fact that there is much more activity taking place around associated with NPC's, the terrain, buildings etc. This is lacking in the PVP aspect of the game. The ability to have matches where the objectives related to the following it is likely the PVP side of the game would draw more people: Boarding a star-ship and fighting your way to take the bridge with spawn points located in corridors. Having the ability to climb, leap onto buildings to engage in combat - essentially a ffa Death match type wz's (Rebs vs Imps, same faction, mixed faction and ffa) where the match runs until the players have been killed 'x' amount of times or until the timer (say 30 mins) runs down. Capturing certain parts of a city/area (within a pvp match itself), mirror something like Corellia, Kashyyyk, Coruscant, Korriban etc. Terrain based wz's - forest, ice, fire planets where the terrain is against you as much as the other team. NPC's in-game that are wandering around which if combat is initiated near to them will engage against the people fighting. When a node is captured a 2 man NPC support team is teleported in to help hold the objective or the ability to summon (every couple of minutes) NPC's to help within a wz. It would make taking re-taking objectives much more difficult and rewards could be awarded accordingly for such feats. Game balancing - if a wz/arena is not fully populated the missing spot is filled with a NPC until/if the slot is filled. Obviously they won't have the same abilities as the classes but they could prevent face-rolling situations where one team is destroying the other due having greater numbers. We've seem support droids recently, why not have a similar feature? The ability to destroy certain parts of the terrain or a building to hamper the other team. Destroying a bridge or walkway to drop players into a pit etc. Walkways which can be retracted to prevent the enemy from crossing. The other thing which might be beneficial is to have ability to view wz's and/or arenas from within the combat area of the fleet where you can observe matches, learn the skills and techniques that seasoned players use. Someone would for example plug in a terminal to watch such matches (low and high level games) and again this could encourage more people to participate in PVP. You could also have certain wz matches on a larger screen for everyone to view which would rotate to another wz once it had ended. On the GSF front you could have players captain a command ship which is used to send-out npc's to engage another command ship of the other faction. The could be a strategy type game to see how a player could organise a mini fleet under their command. Regards, Kren
  8. I am looking forward to this and I must say the game is improving each on each update, the dev's are expanding the SWTOR universe nicely. I would rather them get things right and push things back than have to rush it and receive a flurry of negative feedback from the "unhappy crowd" out there. Looks like a good year ahead. Kren
  9. At the moment I find that within warzones the re-spawn time is longer than required. In PVP you should be able to re-spawn without having to wait for an excessive period of time. A fifteen seconds wait would be ideal. I have found that receiving stuns build the resolve bar however if you are stunned by x number of people at the same you still take damage whilst you are in a stunned therefore effectively preventing you from contributing to the game and you die due to the damage once the resolve bar is full. Being hit by stuns in this manner prevents someone from playing. Normally you see four to five players stunning one player to reduce that attackers effectiveness so in essence stun the hell out of a good player and kill them once their resolve bar is full to remove them from the game. It would also be an idea to have a pure death match option rather than a 'capture the flag' type scenario. A ten to fiftteen minute match within a city type set-up that is based upon at the skill of the team and the number of kills could also make pvp more interesting with the above factors taken into consideration. I see most classes in the SW universe having the ability to jump/leap/rocket thrust/hover/float however adopt this to a scenario where certain classes can jump onto objects/buildings and/or utilise their surroundings in pvp would make it more interesting. It would make the PVP matches more dymanic and give more 'edge' to the pvp matches. Whilst I don't expect the PVP element to match anything I am used to in other SW games such as SWBF2 'hero assault' in online mode it would certainly make the game more immersive and entertaining.
  10. Throughout this year and granted we are only three months in I am finding that SWTOR has improved quite a lot. There are more players around on the servers, easy to join groups, an improvement in the PVP content and now with the upcoming 'Rise of the Hutt Cartell' another five levels to gain, different gear and the new bolster feature. All-in-all it has been an improved game since when it first started. People still have concerns and rightly and that is what the forums are here for so that the developers can look at the content and make changes if possible. I doubt that Bioware will please everyone all of the time with changes but they are certainly trying in my opinion to keep the game afloat as best they can. I would like to see the game not crashing to the desktop every 2 hours as this is a real pain especially if you are mid way through a flashpoint or in PVP. If people really are that upset with the game and dislike what it is then why be here and waste time with bad feedback? If you have an issue, post a solution, express yourself but if it is that bad then pick another game and be happier there, it's really that simple. I'm hoping the content will continue to improve, we have more planets coming on-board and perhaps on the existing planets and opening-up of other areas to explore. In terms of PVP content it would be far better if the re-spawn times were reduced as this interrupts the game flow. I'd also like to see PVP space combat between the empire and the republic, the capturing and/or the destroying of capital ships etc. It would be good to see warzones on Korriban /Coruscant etc. I doubt the PVP will ever reach the fast paced action of a FPS but that's the trade-off with MMO's I've found. An improvement in crafting skills and what you can craft would be good (below and above level 50), better spaceship combat and space exploration and farming resources from asteroids might add something new to the GTN. Having an ability to add more points into a skill could make the character more proficient or devastating in say sabre combat, healing etc. I hope over this next year Bioware content to improve the game.
