  1. I unsubbed because I feel the situation was handled carelessly and unfairly. It diminished my trust and confidence in the development and customer service teams. I'm owed 300 fleet commendations, 50 daily commendations and 100k credits. The credits don't concern me so much, I could grumble about it and get over it, but the commendations are quite a bit harder to reacquire. And being scammed out of them stings, yeah. If you're OK paying people to disrespect you, go right ahead, but I'm not.
  2. They're too pot-committed into the custom armor system. In poker, an inexperienced player will be less and less likely to fold the more chips they have added to the pot, even if they know that they should fold -- they are pot-committed. It applies to basically everything in life. No one wants to admit effort was wasted.
  3. I've learned that no one wants anyone to get anything. Someone else getting something that makes them happy is offensive to them. If a problem didn't affect them, they don't want it to be fixed. Good point, crafters may need material refunds, too. As for all the folks talking about it being the players' fault for buying the items. No. Bioware screwed up the pricing. It is not the responsibility of the players to predict when and where Bioware is going to screw up. It is Bioware's responsibility to make amends.
  4. To tell the truth, when starting out I had a hard time differentiating from all the icons showing a blue lightsaber. OK, this picture of a lightsaber does THIS, and this picture of a lightsaber does THAT, and this one... awe crap.
  5. I takes all kinds, I guess. Don't let anyone tell you you're wrong for caring about something. Haters gonna hate. Actually, they have monkeyed with the character select screen quite a bit more than most games do. They want to make a good first impression, I guess? Seems an odd thing to prioritize, though.
  6. I'm referring to the commendation/credit costs that were reduced because the original prices were a mistake. To my knowledge, the commendation cost for a group of items was reduced once before, but it was on the test server, which is openly stated as "play at your own risk." And I think when we're told solutions are being considered and worked on, that suggests there will be more than an after-the-fact markdown.
  7. Actually, I already unsubbed. I know no one cares, but... you did ask.
  8. There was a miscommunication on how difficult the Grade 7 space gear was supposed to be to obtain, and the blowback was exacerbated by the gear being listed comparatively cheap in the Cartel Market. But a solution was coming: Then, in today's update: I have to say, I was hoping Bioware would run some sort of script through the logs to identify who bought the upgrades at the inflated prices and issue refunds. But this could only be Part 1 of the fix; something to simply correct the error and prevent any more overpriced purchases from being made while a more retroactive solution is found. Are solutions still being investigated/worked on?
  9. So the solution turned out to be: "The costs for Grade 7 ship upgrades available from the Fleet vendor, Daily vendor, and Starship Upgrades credit vendor have been reduced." (http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes/1.6.2/182013) So no refund of overspent commendations/credits, then? Needless to say, it's not enough.
  10. I have never had this problem with other crew skills, but I cannot get Mutagenic Paste in any kind of quantity. I don't think I'm the only one, either, given what it goes for on the GTN and the fact that the other grade 6 biochemical samples can't even be given away.
  11. The ability to have whatever color of crystal I want. Especially if color is divorced from stats.
  12. Maybe 1 in 20 PUGs will I come across someone I don't want to group with again, and it's always because they had an attitude problem or did something like queue up as tank when they are DPS spec/geared. Most runs are smooth, and disbanding because we can't beat a boss is exceptionally rare. Yet I frequently hear people say they've sworn off PUGs or they hate them or whatever. I see a number of possible explanations: People like to complain/act superior Bad players who do not know they are bad complain that groups are bad (unlikely that this is a main factor, I think) People get upset really easily/I'm really easygoing Or it could be that I'm an awesome healer who makes up for bads. Of course this is my favorite theory, but I am biased, so I want to find out what other people have experienced and think.
  13. That team is clearly taking a different approach, and I think it's a worthwhile experiment other developers will be watching closely to see how players react when something on the roadmap is not delivered on time. The conventional wisdom is that the payoff for giving early information is less than the disappointment/anger you get when you fail to deliver. I'm glad someone is testing it by jumping into the deep end. But it's not just about that. I think most teams also like having the freedom to adapt to unexpected developments and change priorities for a while, if need be. I wouldn't say one approach is better than the other. Though I do think people get frustrated if you don't commit to anything ever -- or you do it so seldom that that becomes the perception. It's a difficult balance to strike. The SWTOR team has been playing it safe since before the game was even announced (it was the worst-kept secret in the video gaming world). They definitely know the demand for more is there. We just have to let them test the waters slowly.
  14. I'm glad to hear you are following through on SGRs. I had faith you would eventually. I'm not even thinking about what's going to happen in the expansion and elder game content and all that -- I know it's all up in the air. But I was hoping you would have some insights on the future of the Legacy system.
  15. I was getting ready to complain about the dev tracker being blank for 9 days. Thanks for making up for it.
  16. I get that no one wants to be on the losing side, and so I thought the writers had somehow managed to let everyone "win" without directly conflicting stories cross-faction. It makes sense -- they wouldn't want to have to maintain two different narratives. The Balmorra-Taris relationship is what led me to this assumption. Generally when you finish a planet's main mission line, victory is all but assured, and you leave it to local forces to mop up. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense for the other faction to continue to have a presence. And you can sort of suspend disbelief that both sides fought to an almost-victory. But other things are harder to get around. And more damning:
  17. You will find that it is you who are mistaken. About a great. Many. Things.
  18. I was at the guild leader summit. The features discussed that I most miss are: 1) The guild tax/tithing system, in which the leader sets a percentage of credits looted by members to be deposited directly into the guild coffers. 2) The ability to invite offline characters. It would be a simple expansion of the guild deployment invites that went out when the game launched.
  19. Go with Logitech. I've got the G700. High quality and performance, just as many features/buttons and much more ergonomic than anything Razer offers. Logitech tends to design things ergonomically. Razer doesn't even try. My hands just haven't been the same since doing data entry for a few years more than 10 years ago. The price is about the same for comparable Razer products.
  20. Like, is he a crew skill trade vendor, by chance? That would make it worthwhile.
  21. Those statements were made before the layoffs and move to F2P. I don't think they're done with the legacy system exactly, but I think they're more concerned with things they can better monetize: Makeb and other new content they can sell "tickets" to.
  22. Yes, I destroyed them. I think I used one on my main and destroyed the rest. I opened the mail and was like, "And not a single **** was given that day."
  23. Is Incinerate tech? My sage can't remove tech. Can't remove physical either, with his current spec.
  24. Because after trying my first time... I'm not sure the LR-5 Sentinel Droid can be pugged with a group in full Black Hole gear. Actually, it's not even a matter of gear. There are too many do-or-instantly-wipe mechanics. Yeah, we alt tabbed and read the guides. What should I be in before I go back as a healer?
