  1. Maybe Grav rounds dont do as much damage as Tracer Missile, which i doubt since its mirrored. But with 550exp+ i easily pull off 3.5-4k crits on tracer on enemies that are well geared, tested it many times with guildies with 600+ expertise and enemies with the same amount. Tanks take less obviously, sorc takes more etc. Average 2.5-2.7 noncrit with adrenal up, but dont forget i pop surge/crit relic, which takes my crits up higher than if you simply pop a power relic etc. Point is, its possible to kill a guy in 5ish Tracer missiles, given the fact they all crit. But usually its a combination of 3-4 abilities + adrenals and relics that makes the Bounty Hunter so strong.
  2. @OP You honstly play a well geared Commando? Cause if you do, you are either horrible, or you simply do not know how to play your class. Im running a BM Mercenary, usually im heal spec because that is what my team setup is like. However, once a while i do respec to DPS just for fun. People hate me for it and mute me on vent, because it is simply ridiculous how much damage a Merc can put out in a short amount of time. In regards to Tracer spam, some people are simply ******* and know jack**** but the point and how a Merc is played by me I can describe quite easy. In 4 Global cooldowns, i can kill anything and i mean anything moving. Unless that certain person pops all his defensive cd's and medpacks etc. Here is how: This is my special secret if you people play like ****. You pop surge/crit relic to get the extra crit chance and a power adrenal. This gives you a huge boost on your damaging abilities. You cast 2 Tracer missiles, which in average crit with buffs up for aprox 3.5-4.5k depending on target, then you fire off your heatseeker 5-6k and while your heatseeker is flying towards your target, you pull off a railshot which crits for about 4k. Now, that is a total of aproximately 13-14k damage. This is on well geared targets. Usually in Warzones, you rarely meet a target at full health, cause during a fight well, their health drops and gets healed etc. On occasion you can pull off another tracer or Unload to finish the target off, or if you need the extra burst, Thermal Overdrive + Tracer tends to work quite well. EIther way, yes the Merc/Commando Damage is way to high compared to other classes. And yes they can easily spam 6-8 Tracers without overheating, popping vent heat and spam another 6-8 if needed. So please, dont be ignorant, but know your class and the enemy you are fighting and know how to Counter it. Not easy, but possible.
  3. Tracer can easily crit upwards to 5k damage, if the expertise is the same or lower on the enemy you are hitting. If you simply pop an adrenal and a relic. Example being, power adrenals + surge and crit relic. Firstly higher crit chance, higher crit multiplied and the extra power makes sure you get those high hits. I've had well over 7k crits on heatseeker on enemies. Goes to 8k + on lowbies. The 4x tracer missile crit in a row however is pure luck. Generally it is very hard to get 4 crits in a row. So he most likely popped a heatseeker or a railshot follow up which finished u off with that damage if one or two of his tracers did not crit. People are very ignorant now a days
  4. I must sadly agree with a lot of people here. As it looks right now, there is no chance this game will even sniff to the competitive pvp aspect of electronic sports. However, it has possibilities. If all the PvP related bugs gets fixed within a month, 2 latest, FPS issue gets resolved and proper PvP Warzones where skill matters more than luck(playing 8v8 and having 4 randoms to rely on wont work). Then perhaps, and its a big perhaps lol. I was trying to improve competitive play in SWTOR, but with so many bugs, flaws, ability delay and FPS issues. This just wont happen, at all. Sincerely hope it gets fixed soon, but somehow i doubt it.
  5. The idea of Arenas aint bad. Problem is first and foremost the size, you make it 3v3, people would want 4v4, or 8v8 or 1v1 etc. In theory 3v3 suits well, due to many spells from many classes, the aoe ones are limited to 3 people. However, most of those are as mentioned aoe and namely gtaoe, which would make it useless in a 3v3 match. Why not 4v4? or 8v8? Make it more interesting, more strategical rather than burst and kite if you get my point. I dont think the WoW Arena type will fit in to this game, its mechanics are nowhere near as complex as WoWs are. Personally, i think there should be a different way, different mechanic for competitive play in this game. Huttball for instance, could be balanced out as a 4v4 area with some limits, like no sprinting or jumping or leaping while carrying the ball etc. Then pass would be the only way of getting the ball around in a fast way. It becomes much more strategical with scoring, and less about killing, but more about cooperation and teamplay to succeed. Be it CC, focus a healer so their teams carrier cant go further and so on and so forth. Just my 2 cents. PS: However, with the issues going on right now, FPS, Ability Delay, glitches, exploits etc. this wont happen in the near future. More like 6-8 months ahead. This is also something that I am working on, competitive PvP. Lets see what the future brings us.
  6. I think that Commando/Merc need more heat/ammo management tools, as healing spec we only got 2, and no passive ones. I think if they introduce a passive heat/ammo like you get with the Arsenal spec on crits, then they would be fine. Healing itself is fine, just needs heat/ammo tuning imo.
  7. I am playing a Bounty Hunter, Mercenary healer. Like i said, i have a guildie sorc, who is squishy compared to me, running with around 14-15k hp, well geared obviously. When he gets jumped by operatives/scoundrels, half his hp drop quick, sometimes even upto 70%, if his cc break is down. But by the time he is up, he just turns around, insta stuns em, if they break it, he insta cc's em, so they twirl in the air, the 8 sec one. get away, get healed up an ddps em down, if they disappear, rince and repeat, they only got 1 "vanish" ability, which they cant keep reusing. I believe its on 1 min CD, maybe even 30 sec. That was a 1v1 scenario, usually i just heal him up. Only guy right now having issue with operative from my guild is the Marauder due to lack of cc and medium armor. Though he got his own bubbles if snap his the fan, so to say. Every class has more than enough defensive abilities to negate the dmg done by the scou/operative because it is burst/over short time. However, a well played sniper/bounty hunter, can keep the same damage up over a long time, meaning our oh snap abilities are used up and we become oh snapless. In DPS mode, personal experience, with relic and adrenal up etc, i can easily burst for about 12k dmg in a total of 3gcd, but for the enemy its 2 gcd, due to travel time. Tracer, Heartseeker, Railshot(while heartseeker flying) and if you want an extra kick, pop on an explosive dart. Will take 1 extra gcd, but u gain a total of 2-2.5k crit dmg out of it, which detonates sametime tracer hits. So again, to the enemy its 2 gcd, because thats when the abilities hit him, for u its 4. Total of 6 seconds, with stuff popped and lets just for the sake of fun say itis all crits(im sitting at 40% crit chance). 2.5k dart, 3.2 k tracer, 6k heartseeker, 3.5k railshot, equals a total of 15.2k dmg, if i am not mistaken. Now imagine if you pop a 15% expertise buff AND get the warzone buff. I dont even wanna go that far I think you get the point.
  8. Read the text, not always no. And im fighting people i know, enemies and allies i know that are geared, because we created a small community of PvPers on Tofn, to try and enhance competitive PvP. When they pop relics and adrendals, sure they can get 5k crits, but then i pop my relic and adrenal and negate the dmg with a pot and an insta heal. Yes, i use CC break when an operative or scoundrel jumps me, because the stun is long, and guildies and i need heal. When i see them not hitting me above 4k on opener, i just pop energy shield, gas and aoe heal to get the 10% extra dmg reduction, healup guildies, then either pop a medpack or a pvp healpot and a selfheal or two to keep my self up. And ofc, before i start healing guildies i pop a knockback or a stun on the operative, taking him out till he is taken care of, now operatives insta stealth on me after opener to get the opener on me twice just to get me down. Only works when my guildies is sleeping or everything i got is down. Mind you, i got 18k hp, heavy armor, 50-60% uptime on 10% dmg reduction and 2 oh snap heals for when im in trouble, + knockback and my own cc, since i dont use it in offense but for pure defense. TL;DR: If you know how to play, Operatives aint a problem, the only problem for me are the occasional well played sniper, or 2 Mercenaries assisting eachother.
  9. You mentioned DAoC, now i dno how the hell you played, but if you played it long enough during your 12 year of mmorpg experience, you surely must know that a good Shadowblade can 1 shot casters, a good nightshade can completely tear tanks apart and a good infiltrator can kill everything else. All comes down to spec and skill. In WoW you could easily get stunlocked, this is the same thing, you get stunlocked. But in WoW a rogue had several stuns, here there is just 1 long one, after which you are cc immune, please learn the game mechanics before you write stuff. If you have 450 expertise and you are being 3 shot, you are either not using your abilities, or just standing still and letting them kill you. I hope you do realize that you have abilities you can use in such situations, 2x pots that dont share cooldowns, one of which heals u for 35% hp and the other one(depending which one you got) up to 4.5k hp or upto 6k hp. And you are telling me that you cannot negate an operatives damage? Seriously? Most well geared people have 15k+ health. All classes have several cc and getaway abilities. Knockbacks, roots, stuns, mez etc. You are being 3shot because you are not using your class' full potential. Not one of my guildies, ever gets 3 shot by a scoundrel or an operative, and we got some really good ones around. There was this one time, before we got expertise and the guy was fully geared, but now sitting at 400+ expertise, i never see it happen unless its a lowbie or a bad geared character.
  10. Wait, you are whining about an assassin being an assassin and attacking squishy targets? I dont know about that sorc, maybe its a demonstration, but in real combat, u got ur bubble up 9/10 times, u got cc break, u got cc urself and knockback. Operatives are piss easy to deal with unless you play like ****.
  11. Snipers are Gunslingers are an awesome class! 90% of people cant play em, hence why no one whines, however when 1 good one comes along, he can go crazy, dont have a screenshot, but there was this 1 voidstar, where a sniper got around 800k dmg. He was obviously in a premade etc. Not sure what he did, but its one of those classes, if well played, they are amazing, if they are okay played, then they are okay. Otherwise they are terrible lol. And to the guy saying that Operatives are OP, i can tell you that an operative, not ones after i got about 200 expertise, could an operative kill me 1v1 or pop on me and take me down. If my break cc is up, i pop that, knockback, pot and his dmg is negated + he is useless now, he stealths, i stealthscan on top of him, he is dead In rare occasions when my break cc is down, a really good one can take me half way down, i run at around 18k hp. But 2 instans and a cast(if pot is down) and his dmg is negated. Dont get 5k+ crits from em. 3.8 is the highest ive seen, with exceptions of adrenald + relic + expertise buff. Even that cant take me down. So dno, they are very strong i agree, but not Overpowered by any means.
  12. I think Sage/Sorc is the only class that can do that, with high pool of resource. Playing a Merc healer my self, i can toss out a nuke or a missle once a while, but if i overdo it, i simply overheat and will be screwed for a long time, not being able to heal up teammates and so on. IA are more melee oriented, but i think same goes to them, though they get the extra regen which we BH's dont. So maybe they can also dish out little more dmg if the situation presents itself.
  13. I agree with pretty much everyone here. Class balance is somewhat fine, there are some fine lines in between, in well played groups. Rarely lose a Warzone, since i always run in a premade, but half of us having FPS issues is killing a lot for us atm, with 15 fps and ability delay. Even then we still do fine. Problem though lies within Bounty Hunters(Mercenaries) IMO, 2 well geared and well played Bounty Hunters, can assist eachother and burst anything down, unless 2 healers are focusing said target. Without the possibility of removing the debuff/heat signatures, it is hard to keep people up. As a healer my self(Bounty Hunter Merc), with the 10% dmg redux buff and spam heal with adrenal and power relic up, i can outheal 2 BH's if they get rupted, but once the relic and adrenal is down, it is nearly impossible. Everything else i can outheal pretty easily. But that is also more of a group composition and skill rather than pure class balance. Overall it seems fine, some are lacking in certain areas but make up in others.
  14. Got 4-5 people from guild with same issue... ***?
  15. I dont get this, people are whining about operatives/smugglers doing 4k burst openers and 2k crits, but no one says anything about BH or Troopers. Doing 2.5-3k constant sustained crits and bursting for over 7k dmg, well im happy I think a lot of people need to realize how this game works.
  16. Plenty, much higher Highest i've seen was around 450k i think, by a scoundrel.
  17. Havent read 15 threads, but i hope you do realize that the classes are mirrored. No deviation except how you spec. if you fail at playing it, or do not know your class well enough to optimize its spec for more damage, then you are simply not a competent pvp'er. No offense.
  18. Seen several good players pull off 400k dmg or healing. I pull off 250-300k healing, with 15fps in a warzone. Seen other players pull off 400k+. If you are good, you should be able to pull that off. Given the fact you are fully geared as well. Was a guy earlier, scoundrel i think - he was critting me for 5k dmg, and was basically demolishing people in a voidstar that lasted bout 10 mins if not less. Pulled off 400k dmg.
  19. More like 3 hr queue on tomb of freedon nadd. Been in for about 1hr, started as 420 people. down to 200. So 1 more hr to go, and i guess more people trying to logo on now, so it goes higher. Hope for some server cap increase
  20. Hmm, if this is true - well done. However, 16th of dec 3:05 GMT. That doesnt give you 2 days 11 hrs 30 minutes worth of playing. But more like 1 day 3ish hrs. Since EGA started 15th at around 12 am gmt wasnt it? So you either got in before 15th, I.E. 14th early morning or sumin, or that picture is from Beta or Photoshopped Not accusing, just curious. Doesnt seem right with the dates.
  21. Yay the game has begun! In a matter of weeks most people shall be 50 and endgame PvP will start. Support our cause! Support eSport!
  22. Hello Frogdogs & Rotworms! My name is Greg, also known as Grindhouse, I am the Guild Manager of a Gaming community. We've been playing MMORPGS for many years and between us, we have more than 80 years of gaming experience from various games within the past decade. With many achievements behind us we decided to engage on a new project regarding MMORPG. eSport We want to engage the community in more than just gaming, more than just spending time on our hobby. We want it to become a professionally acknowledged part of Electronic Sports in the future. So this is us, introducing eSports and showing every gamer out there, that it’s time for MMORPG to hit the professional competitive scene and Star Wars: The Old Republic, is the perfect place to start. We are currently in dialogue with the devs and community managers/coordinators of SW:TOR regarding our project. After a few discussions back and forth, they decided that the competitive PvP aspect of SW:TOR, will not be fully supported from launch, but might be implemented and supported later on as the game progresses. So we are extremely excited and are looking forward to a great title, with the possibility of mature competitive PvP within the game. There are currently 3 confirmed warzones along with open world PvP, we are excited to try and provide support for the most popular PvP aspects of SW:TOR and have a fully comprehensive eSport experience. We want to make this game competitive, include it in the eSports scene, make it accessible, exciting and interesting. More than just a game but a friendly and competitive atmosphere that surrounds the gaming community, something people would like to be a part of and are proud of. Our chosen server is: Tomb of Freedon Nadd, where we in cooperation with many other guilds are going to try and create a great community for competitive play amongst people who have signed up to the server as our allies and adversaries. For more information about the server please look here, or look us up at #tofn.pvp @ Quakenet mIRC. Looking forward to a great cooperation and some epic pwnage and fun! Show your support.
