  1. I use a G700 mouse and a G15 keyboard. I could not play a watchman decently without them. I would have to play a DPS Commando.
  2. I would be real interested in hearing just which HM (non-champion) droids are immune. I have not found one yet.
  3. I do not agree with this. Yes, with Doc life is much easier. But I, and you if you try, can face equal level content. Many of us do it all the time. I , and many others, do the level 50 solo dailies without Doc. Some of use use Kira, some the Sergeant, etc. The fights can be tough, and you have to meditate a lot. And we do not shudder, we just find ways to succeed without complaining.
  4. I have found this to be true. When I am soloing I can use Kira or the good Sergeant, but as you say, downtime is a way of life. But Doc is not easy street, he can get "distracted" real easy. If facing an Elite, and that Elite has pals, the pals must die, and fast. Otherwise, they will go after Doc, or he goes after them, neither of which is good. And shutting down Doc's CC and Attack abilities is not the best idea, just control the enemies so Doc is working for you. We have some great burst abilities against strongs and less, so it is not unusual to take out a strong and a normal with a leap and 4 attacks, and if you are lucky with crits, do it with 3. Then hit the Elite with dots and attacks. Doc is then directing his full attention to you. I can do this against 2 strongs and a normal. But, for me, the margin for error is too small. So with Doc, little or no down time for reasonable fights, and down time with the others. This might be the best balance that can be achieved.
  5. I normally do not stare at the bars. I am sweeping my eyes over the entire scene. Like most of us do. The original method where the ability was on or off was easy for spotting a change. Now I am not sure if the cool down is ready unless I stop my scan and focus. This just slows me down. I look upon it as a form of nerf. I hear folks mentioning using time sense. Well, when things get hot and heavy I get amped up and my time sense goes to hell in a hand basket. Then the 1.5 second cool down seems like an eternity. So, I do wish they would put the hot keys back to the way they started: On or off....none of this in between stuff.
  6. Thanks guys, there are some really good tips here. But it would be nice if the cool down indicators were more positive than some sliding blue line.
  7. For those folks that want to post on how bad the JK is I will counter-post saying not true. The class can be quite effective. For example, in the Illum or Belsavia dailies a typical challenge would be an Elite with a strong and a weak (or normal). I can regularly solo these with Doc. I have yet to be turned away from an OP. This is not a troll or a brag. It is the simple truth. But it is not simple or easy. Many posts have been made detailing just how to pull these fights off. So I will let methods and "rotations" go. But if you think that a magic "rotation" will save you. Well, be prepared for disappointment. JK is not a "3 button" trooper class, but more like a "20 button" very busy class. I could not hope to pull this off without help. Such as a Logitech G700 mouse and a Logitech G15 keyboard. The question raised, that I think is a good one, is it fair to ask the average player to go through all this to be effective? So, do we beef the class up, or make it more playable? I would hate to see the class ripped up, or become overpowered. I enjoy the class just as it is. If that makes me elite, then so be it.
  8. Threads like this scare me. The Devs might actually believe them and ruin a perfectly good class. Yes, this is not an easy class to play. But it is capable to doing all missions sent its way. There may be stronger classes, but this class is not weaker than the game demands when compared to some of the measures mentioned in this thread. Final class battle: I soloed this on the fifth try. I finished this at half health and the droid at a third, and I used NO LOS tricks. It was a straight up fight. This is not unusual. Many other Watchmen have done it, and the method to achieve this is well documented on a number of threads in this forum. Illum: Doc and I do the dailies on Illum and Belsavia with no problems whatsoever. And I observe many Knights doing the something every day. The class is fine. The only knock I have on the class is potential carpal tunnel.
  9. Just shows that any chump can write speculative drivel, and other chumps will read and believe it. Just like Star and its ilk.
  10. I seriously doubt that meters are going to help all that much, and may very well mislead. Much of what we have to do to win, and survive, will not show up on a meter. In many of our fights proper application of interrupts is all the difference, and no amount of DPS will save us. All of our interrupts, and Force Stasis is a valuable interrupt, are mandatory. The full value of Overload and Zen cannot be measured on a meter. And in some of the longer fights the real value of the use of Rebuke/Riposte cannot be measured. I am not a big fan of meters. To me they are the refuge of the bureaucratic mind that seeks the easy/lazy answer. I think success trumps any meter.
  11. The best tip I can give you is when you see him kinda hunch down, KICK him. Worked for me.
  12. I succeeded yesterday with very similar tactics, also on the fifth try. Turned off all agro on the droid (except EMP). Engaged and followed my normal combat routine, with close attention on interrupts. Left the adds to the Droid. Used all healing capabilities and finished the fight at half health. The droid at a third. I would not call it easy. It is fast and furious, and a good test of class abilities, because you better use them all. IMO it needs no changes.
  13. YES! Please make it optional. As a Knight/Watchman it has definitely slowed me down. This class has a very high task load, with very little time to execute properly. With the hot key switching on or off I did not need to focus on the key to know its state. I could note its state change and not look directly at it. Now I have to focus on the key to see if the line has reached the bottom.
