  1. Yeah. I also am having this same issue today. But in addition to that, when my launcher goes to patch, it says, Downloading Main Assets 1 11.63GB remaining.... Uh... I don't think they released an expansion to the game last night, did they? Anyone else getting this?
  2. I would encourage you to not quit SWTOR in favor or WoW. All of the complaints folks are posting about are in regards to vanity items. Some concerns are legitimate, but what people fail to realize is that WoW's launch was not half so good as SWTOR's launch. If people want to throw a fit and leave because the game is not as developed as WoW, all the better. Most of the people that are QQing and "quiting" are the same folk that I have not interest in having to deal with on a regular basis. They are the ones that make the game not fun to play. You want to voice legitimate concerns about improvements for the game? That's fine. But do not go threatening Bioware with the cancellation of your subscription and demand that changes be made. It makes you look weak (this is not in reference to OP I'm talking about trolls). So to you OP. I would say, don't worry about the hate threads, just enjoy the game and decide for yourself. If you have some legitimate concerns that make you feel like SWTOR is not the game for you, then fair enough. But don't let someone else decide whether or not you enjoy a game.
  3. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/12/godaddy-faces-december-29-boycott-over-sopa-support.ars Bioware, First of all I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I want you to be aware as well as the community of this information. If need be, close the thread and move it to a place where your higher ups can take a look in peace. GoDaddy has been in support of controversial legislation known as SOPA. While GoDaddy has technically retracted their support, they have done so only in response to extremely negative publicity and threats of losing customers. Even in the wording of their retraction, they have as much stated that they will continue to work with congress on the legislation to improve it, although they will not support it until the rest of the internet community does so. They are basically still lobbying congress for the legislation although, they say they don't support it. It doesn't make sense. In any case, my main concern is that SWTOR.com is currently registered with GoDaddy. I don't know to what extent you have services with GoDaddy, but I would highly encourage your company to consider transfering the domain to another registrar. Don't care who, just as long as you are not doing business with a company that is in support of legislation that would be in extreme violation of freedom of speech. Again, this post is not intended to stir up problems. So if you are reading this and you are not Bioware. Please keep you comments polite and constructive. All I want to do is let Bioware know that we the community are concerned, and we hope that Bioware will consider taking action to stop doing business with GoDaddy. Kind Regards, One of your customers.
  4. Actually I care. WoW allows me to play dual clients on different accounts on the same computer. This is a basic functionality that MMOs provide and Bioware does need to take this request seriously.
  5. While everyone is busy complaining about what they don't like about the game, I'd like to thank you Bioware for making an awesome game in my honest opinion. I am having a lot of fun with the gameplay, the group mechanics are very enjoyable, and I have yet to get bored with the game at all. I'm excited to see how the game progresses in the future and I hope SW:TOR becomes a strong MMO in the market for the long haul.
  6. I'm gonna assume that Bioware was a little more concerned about a successful launch then including some santa hats...
  7. 99% of the time when you pre-order a game you are only putting down a $5 charge initially until the actual game release. You will always get charged the remainder on launch day.
  8. I don't think I can agree with that. if you have friends on a particular server, you are going to want to play on that server. As a friend of mine pointed out, the folly was forcing pre-order guilds on to a particular server. They should have given the guild leader an ingame item that is placed on the first character they create for whatever server it is that they want so that the can choose the server they want to be on (i.e. a low pop server).
  9. Trying to maintain a Roleplay environment on an RP server is a futile effort at best. Even Blizzard realized the futility of it on their own RP Servers after the first year. I think it's fair to say that if you play on an RP server, you should be fairly warned that you may experience actually serious RPers. But non-rpers should not be penalized. They just want to play the game and the RP server happens to be the one that they joined for whatever reason. My fellow RPers, come down off your lofty thrones of self-worth and join your common man in just freakin enjoying the game.
  10. Who here is not surprised at the long queue times? Welcome to release day folks. I'm sure Bioware will open up more new servers as the month progresses and even allow free transfers as they see fit, but for the moment you are gonna have to sit tight and deal with it. You can either choose to be angry (which if you do your a fool for not expecting this) or you can simply grin and bare it.
  11. Ventrillo seems to be the main one I see used the most. Whenever I have joined a guild in any game 99/100 it's been a vent server that they were running.
  12. Vrook Lamar here. Our whole guild is Oregonian.
  13. At first I felt like this meant that they were doing invites by month, but that doesn't make sense either. They probably got a flood of preorders as they got closer to game release. I would be surprised if tomorrow is the rest of september and some of October. If you pre-ordered in December (like I did ) then you will probably be waiting until a couple days before game release sadly
