  2. I'm not sure if this has been suggested before or not so I thought i'd put it up. What if Stances were implemented for all classes as a way to get rid of hybrid builds? Having Stances (and the certain abilities linked to Stances) could potentially do away with current Hybrid's and potential Hybrid's of the future. Example. Say as a Sorc we'd have three Stances... Lighting, Madness and Corrupted Stance... Wrath (example) you'd need to be in Madness stance to have access to the ability. Well if you decided to go up Lightning tree and create a hybrid for Lightning Storm... Since you could only use one stance at a time you wouldn't be able to utilize both trees procs... Which would do away with the benefit of hybrid and in the end get rid of it all together. And for current classes that have Stances and are still using Hybrid's all you'd have to do is adjust which moves, buffs, procs fit into which stances. And to stop people from switching stances mid fight (and to keep it simple... Not having to add stances into the tree) you could have the stance use a GCD or say use a marginal amount of resources (force etc...) (Which would deter people from using it mid fight.

  4. Hello fellow sorcs! Hoping to find some suggestions. I've been using the Lightning tree for the last few days and i'm having a ton of fun with it... Looking for ideas with regards to Affliction when it has two (or so) seconds left... TB is now off cool down. Do I clip the last tic of Affliction or do I cast a Lightning Strike, (by then Affliction gets it's last tic) but that leaves Thundering Blast sitting there, while I cast Lightning Strike waiting for that last tic of Affliction to go off. On the one hand I tell myself TB is my big move it'd be worth clipping Affliction to get TB up as soon as possible... Then on the other hand i'm waisting that last tic. (But, again if I use a filler to let Affliction get off that last tic TB is just sitting there for 1.5-2 seconds waiting.) Maybe there's something in the rotation I can tighten up to get Affliction and TB more in sync? http://www.torparse.com/a/579303/1/0/Damage+Dealt
  5. As many of you know if you purchase (say) a color crystal off of the gtn it'll have no research available. After equipping the color crystal you now have a 20% chance to learn the schematic. (Assuming your Artifice of course.) As far as I know that works with all mods armoring's enhancements hilts barrels color crystals I tried to find an official topic about this and I came across an old post about doing this with mods. This is a copy of the official response which was on 10/18/2012. "We've seen players ask about this before, and have some clarification for you from Jason Attard (Senior Game Balance Designer) This behavior was unintended, but we do not consider it an exploit. We do intend to make reverse engineering more consistent in the future, and that may be by not allowing this or by allowing players to reverse engineer this type of mod by design. We do not consider this a violation of the rules." I was curious if today, it's still considered an acceptable method of RE? And if so across the board? (Enhancements, Mods, HIlts, Etc...)
  6. How much accuracy do you need as a juggernaut (vengeance) for pvp?
  7. I started playing my Vengeance Jugg more heavily and my OCD has locked in on Vicious Slash' animation! This is my personal observation and a potential fix. When you cast VS you (instantly deal damage as soon as you cast) But that damage is way ahead of the actual animation/hit connecting and the damage text... When you cast your damage is done right away.. 1/2 a second later the saber hits the target and the damage text appears. (Now when the saber actually connects and the damage text pops up... It's 1/2 a second behind when you casted and the actual damage was done.) Instant attacks can take a fraction of a second to hit... They're not always "instant." In the case of the Jugg i'm glad we have an instant hit (good for topping off near dead adds) But I wish the animation / damage / text were in sync. I would propose firstly syncing up the actual animation (when the saber connects) with the damage / text.. And then speeding up the animation itself to keep it as an instant hit. You could go the other way and keep the animation speed the same and just fix the damage / damage text to appear when the saber actually connects... (Personally I prefer the first option) Most of our moves (with the exception of Assault) take at least a portion of a second to hit) it's nice that VS is an instant hit which is why i'd like to have the ability remain an instant hit but it'd be nice to have the damage / animation and text in sync to reflect an instant hit. If you could sync the hit/damage/text and speed up the animation... When you hit VS you (quickly) and instantly slash your target for x amount of damage... The way is stands now.. You hit VS, your opponent takes the damage... 1/2 second (later) saber connects / damage text pops up. An example would be...When an add has one hit of health left... Click VS you'll instantly deal the damage (his health will disappear) he'll stand there, lifeless, waiting for the saber to connect... 1/2 second later the saber hits him... text pops... and he falls over.

  9. Just trying to get some ideas to pull better numbers... Madness Sorcerer My rotation... Creeping Terror --- Affliction --- Releckness ---Deathfield --- Polarity Shift --- Force Lightning --- (Wrath Proc) Crushing Darkness --- Force Lightning x 4 (Because of Polarity Shift) Creeping Terror --- Affliction --- Deathfield --- Force Lightning --- (Wrath Proc) Crushing Darkness --- Force Lightning x 3 Sometimes I throw in lightning strike... I'm still on the fence about it. It does decent damage (especially with a crit) but I can't help but think it'd be better to stay on Force Lightning... I'd guess one L.S (GCD) is the equivalent (time wise) to one tick of Force Lightning... Force Lightning and Lightning Strike both share the disintegration buff but Force Lightning has the potential to proc Lightning Burns. Do you think Lightning Strike / Shock have a place in the rotation? I use Shock (or LS depending on CD for Crushing Darkness) as a filler if I need a second or so before one of my dots is done casting. Clipping dots would be a bad thing? I've heard conflicting opinions.

  11. +41 Crystals / End game Red Yellow Green Blue You need Schems from vendors... There's one on Belsavis and one on Ilum. (can't RE for those recipes) Purple / Cyan / Red Black / Blue Black / Purple Black You can RE and learn schem's at 20% chance Orange you can't RE and I've never seen a schematic for one. The classic gear vendor (sorcerer) has them in the lightsaber... So if nothing else you can acquire it that way. Pink you need the schematic which is a random drop from belsavis world boss and a very random drop on the black hole dailies area (mobs) Yellow Black was from pre ordering For the lower crystals... The artifice trainer has your red / green / blue / yellow recipes.

  13. I RE'd a Dread Guard Relic. The relic had the normal "20 percent chance to learn this schematic." After REing it a red message popped up saying something to the extent of "there's no schematic to be learned from this." Is that a glitch? On the one hand it says there's something to be learned but after disassembling it, it then says there's nothing to be learned.

  15. Hey guys, I need your help! I've recently started parsing and my #'s kind of suck. I'm going to link a 5 minute parse in hopes you can help! 2300-2400 is the best I can do... I know i'm doing something wrong! Just not quite sure what. My Sorc's in full 72 and the stats are...   17. Hey guys! I started phasing out all of my crit for power mods / enhancements... I have noticed my DPS increase... I was wanting to add some more alacrity... But to do that i'd have to drop either Accuracy or Surge... Bonus Damage ... 1403 Accuracy... 108.13% Crit... 24.21% Multiplier... 70.06% Alacrity... 3.15% Mainstat 3206 (I have no points added to crit in my tree... I play full madness) Right now my with my accuracy sitting at 108... I should be able to hit 110% with a few more upgrades to 72 (without having to swap out any surge enhancements for accuracy) Since Crit isn't as useful as it has been in the past... (And crit/surge) go hand in hand... Could I get away with dropping some of my surge enhancements and pick up alacrity enhancements? Would it really hurt/make a big difference if I dropped my surge into the low 60's?
  18. Morning everyone, With the paid transfers on the way I was thinking about moving my toons over to a pvp server! I like the idea of open world pvp... Being able to attack / be attacked at anytime. I think it'd help to keep things interesting and different! The server i'm currently on, PVE server, (my two main toons are dps) queue's can take over an hour for HM fp. And op queue's are far and few between. I was thinking a pvp server would help to keep me busy, give me more motivation to run around and do some dailies (random pvp along the way!!) But with queue's as long as they're on PVE server I fear they'll be even worse on PVP? What's the PVE community like on a PVP server? I hope to be able to continue raiding... While enjoying a richer PVP experience! Thank you!

I like the idea of having my spells centralized with the screen so when I'm in combat I don't have to keep looking down... But I can't find a design I like! Post photos of your custom huds!   21. I usually play full Madness... Force has always been an issue for me with the longer fights. Lightning on the other hand is almost always 95% or better. I feel like there should be a middle ground for the two trees. Perhaps an instant attack that does decent damage or an execution. One of the issues I have with the Lightning tree is it's dependency on cast times. One thing I really like about Madness is Lightning having no cool down so you can top off mobs with low health all the while you have a filler there when you need / want it. Lightning does have nice burst damage but the cast times when your in pvp or fightning enemy's where you need to move puts a damper on the tree. Where as if you had another instant ability it'd help fill the gap while your moving plus top off any misc. adds or quick dmg you might need to put out. Some people are against the idea of adding new abilities which I completely understand but personally i'd like to see a new attack if not more. It'd add some new dynamics to the class, mix things up a little bit and give you something new to look at. *Alacrity speeding up dot damage... Also not needing a ton of alacrity to see a difference. A little bit more from each point of alacrity would increase it's effectiveness. *The option to hide your light saber. *Option to change the color of your force Lightning (might sound silly but I remember when Quake 3 let you change the color of your Rail... Simple yet awesome tweak you could never get enough of!) *A tweaking of the Shock animation. There's no full lightning coming out of your hand to the enemy. Some "shock" will come out of your fingers and hit the enemy with nothing but air between the cast and it's target. As far as the light saber goes I think it'd be a nice option quite a few people would be interested in. Some might think it'd be weird blocking/absorbing attacks without one... But it works just fine with Mercs/Bounty Hunters etc. The idea of not having an actual "weapon" just your spells to crush your enemy sounds awesome to me! We're not a melee class, we have no offense with the saber. I like the idea of choices... How ever trivial or small they may be... To me being able to completely customize your toon is what makes an MMO so appealing.
  22. I have the Dark Radiance relic... But for my second relic my choices would be either to proc alacrity, power or defense? I was curious if the defense relic does anything for a dps jug? If nothing else i'll pick up the power relic you recommended
