  1. Reminds me of when Warhammer Online did their first April Fool's and said "Artisan will be our final playable class, you'll get to craft and craft...."
  2. One last bump, if anyone can confirm if Legacy Lvls do indeed cap at 50 it would be much appreciated.
  3. Legacy 40 and change now, 10 more levels until I find out if my subscription will be ending early.
  4. It isn't an idea that appeals to everyone, but nobody has pointed to any real opposition to it. It would make a large number of players very happy, and the rest wouldn't "care what your legacy level is!" so I hope they either don't cap it, or remove any existing cap and simply scale up the exp cost per lvl accordingly. Five years down the line having a massive legacy level because you kept playing the game (not playing it on and off as you tried out every MMO to hit the market) would be far more rewarding than a simple /played could offer, and would give the hope/potential of the game rewarding you for it, even if not right away, and even if it didn't directly affect your damage dealt/health total/etc.
  5. Even if that's the case it won't bother me much just so long as there isn't a cap, but I would definitely like confirmation as to if the Legacy System currently caps at legacy level 50 from a Dev if one ends up reading this.
  6. To me the legacy system is the ultimate accumulation of everything you've done in the game, a means of measuring the sum of things. Today I'll hit Legacy Level 40. (I know someone who will likely hit 46 today in my guild) From what I've heard the Legacy system will cap at Legacy Level 50, and if that's the case, most of my love for the game will be mitigated by the tremendous negative aspect of no longer having that means of measurement, that sense that everything is adding up to something that would unlocks wondrous new things later on down the road. I ask only that even if Legacy Levels currently only give rewards up to level 50, that it not cap out at level 50. Capping out on commendations is irritating, but capping out on legacy would be game-breaking for me. Make the curve on legacy level exp requirements insane after 50 if you like, just make sure it keeps adding up, don't let it just go to waste. I don't care if no rewards for legacy levels after 50 are added for another 6 months, or until the first expansion, just so long as I don't hit a cap.
  7. Limit the max number of any given class that can be on the same side in the same WZ. A Huttball game isn't fun when it is against 7 Sorcs. (full resolve giving immunity to roots would be a close second)
  8. Non-melee classes would have a distinct disadvantage dueling inside a tiny ship lol(even force push and leap would be much more limited)...but I'll have to try that some time. Wouldn't be a lag-fest if they just made the dueling area far enough away from the rest of the fleet's primary population (like say 100m up on the VIP area) so that nobody not interesting in dueling or watching a duel would have to load the action. Might want them to put in barriers around most or all of the outside edge if they make it on top of that giant pedestal though. Hell, even an instanced and otherwise empty cargo bay would work fine, they could even project duels on screens in the primary part of the fleet for people to watch the inside of an instanced area, that way passers by would get to watch, but it'd just be a 2D image not bogged down with all the data of a real fight in your load proximity. It would sure as hell cut down on the boredom between WZs, and instances, and everything else players wait on in the fleet. You could even award a handful of social points for duels, (a small number, like 2-4 per based on the winner), or a small amount of legacy exp for that matter.
  9. Reading this made my morning, thanks to Bioware's devs for making this pop up on the dev tracker. Jedi Knights/Sith Warriors generate their class dynamic with abilities Consulars/other sith generate their class dynamic at a constant rate Smugglers/Agents/Troopers/BH all have essentially the same dynamic, which is "the more you have, the faster you get it back"(or vice versa for heat with BHs or so I hear) If you don't like the dynamic of a class, DON'T PLAY THAT CLASS, it's quite simple. It took me leveling a commando to 50 to realize how much I loathed that dynamic, but the class dynamic is the foundation of that class, they'd have to demolish everything on top of it to reshape it without major structural flaws. If I ever level a smuggler to 50 it'll be purely for the legacy system multi-buff I've heard word of, then I'll never touch that character again. Don't get me wrong, designing class dynamics so that half of the classes in the game share the same system, which I'm far from alone in passionately loathing, was possibly Bioware's biggest mistake(close seconds would be a generic non-itemization system and a piss poor crafting system inherent in all non-itemization systems), but for the majority of players with the rate they release new content 4 enjoyable classes and 4 time-sink classes will last them until an expansion.
  10. Although I'll forever consider Mac users as being unable to tie their own digital shoes, and I'll laugh in the face of any "Mac Genius", these people will spend 2-3 times the value of something if it has a Mac logo on it, and gives them a number to call where someone won't treat them as being stupid as they truly are when they need help. It'd make a hell of a lot better investment to make a Mac OSX client than it would to keep paying whoever you've got working your crafting/itemization systems. Please excuse my bluntness
  11. You hired some of the old Warhammer development staff didn't you? It might have taken those guys a year to figure out how to do it right the first time around, but as I recall they developed a working combat-active-collision system for massive open world PvP (or RvR) where their servers could handle 100+ vs 100+ battles in fairly small spaces. Take some of their input to heart, this may be a very different game, but they designed a working system that was very fun and challenging in open world PvP, and I've never seen another game come close to their server stability (12 months after launch) in a 100+ vs 100+ battle at a single objective. Working siege engines, multiple stages to capturing an objective that required players working together, well thought out terrain & structural advantages, and many elements that played into their combat-active-collision system, as well as a boss to kill in order to cap an objective, and a real reward for the capture. (not some cheesy little buff and valor bonus per kill which is now rendered far more meager) If you're planning on taking it back to the drawing board then take your time and do it right, make something players will remember long after your game is gone.(not to say that'll be any time soon) I know you've got the right staff for the job, you just need to stop listening to players who don't have the slightest idea what they want in a game. (they say they do, but you'll never please them) Good luck, -Dorrsk Eighty'One
  12. Were the republic vendors you attempted to interact with in a sanctuary zone? (rested exp gain active) Unless you went into a republic cantina they probably weren't, and that is another potential factor. At any rate that's the only way republic could hypothetically get a real purple crystal right now. Hopefully next content patch they'll not only add the white, and the purple crystals both for crafting, I know Artificers are in dire need of more good stuff to craft.
  13. A very large number of photos and video on the subject of one level 42 trooper who got on the imperial fleet and killed several bartender droids as a very large crowd of imperials gathered, watched him, and uploaded video of him fighting them to Youtube, would beg to differ, run a search Fleets are also designated as sanctuary areas/rested exp areas. I've tried everything I could think of that might send me there through a bug, including afking in the enemy spawn points in Civil War and Voidstar, both alive and dead. Frankly I'm about out of ideas for sneaking onto the Imperial fleet to buy a Purple Crystal atm, but that's not to say it can't be done.
  14. Cute, but its already been done once, and if someone was lucky or smart enough they might be able to test my theory.
  15. Hypothetically speaking, if a Republic player was to find himself on the Imperial Fleet, since the vendors use the same commendations (champion) and unassembled pieces for both factions, would said republic player be able to interact with those vendors and buy the purple-crystal-having items or would the vendors only aggro? I know the bar droids "could" be attacked, but I'm not even sure if they would aggro without the option of vending through them. The one confirmed republic player to board the imperial fleet showed us that much. (And no, if I knew a way onto the imperial fleet I'd have tested this idea out myself, because I really want a real purple crystal. Since I'm not one of the Village People or promoting breast cancer awareness, pink doesn't appeal to me)
  16. Hehe, be glad there isn't someone like me on your server or you'd already be getting calls at home and work. I already walked through one of the people you're teasing with the steps I'd have to go through to make that happen, but I agree with him that it's more work than it's worth.
  17. ...I'm not an artificer, I don't care about exploration, I hate datacrons, and the only thing I've wanted since hitting 50 on December 18th at 3:10 AM was a white (or silver) lightsaber crystal. I'm up to nearly 12 million credits (without trying to make a profit) and yet it is all worthless to me as no one on the server Canderous Ordo can craft a white crystal, or knows how to obtain one otherwise Have your fun, tease these fools, make them run in circles, but sooner or later someone will figure it out, it's just a matter of if you reveal the secret first and look generous, or they figure it out first and your reputation is set in stone as the way the trolls regard you now. Gratz on finding the crystal I've been hunting.
