  1. It is happening for me also, and the toon I am using it on happenes to be Female, type 3. Just my luck they decided to use too much starch with that body type...
  2. Now that we have confirmation that the character level cap is going up, I wanted to ask about the other level cap... Will the Legacy Level cap move up from 50 this time?
  3. A question on the mobs, has everyone that is not getting the double XP for the mobs always run it before with rested XP? If so, they mobs were always giving double XP and now it just has the extra that should come from another 30% legacy and 25% for XP boost - so an extra 55% per kill. Remember there is no rested XP available during the Double XP time. Just a thought, but I was hoping for more XP also...
  4. I have never been much of a complainer, but I respect other's rights to do so (and I never said you should not complain - it would be nice if the complaints were more constructive, but that is rarely the case). I would just rather come up with solutions myself rather than wait for someone else to fix something. I realize not everyone has the will, technical ability, or funds to be able to manage their own system and if that is the case then so be it. In a perfect world everything would work without issues, but until it gets to that point we have to cover our own data. My goal was to provide some information that the game files CAN be backed up to avoid potentially catastrophic hiccups like many ran into today and in the last weeks. If I have only helped a single person avoid this in the future then it was well worth my time. I enjoy the game immensely, and I try to help others continue their enjoyment of the game.
  5. Good Morning Everyone! Although from what I have been reading it is not a good morning to a lot of people. It would seem that there are a lot of upset players having to re-download lots of game files. I can certainly understand everyone's position on that, especially those individuals that have a slow connection or actual bandwidth limitations. Bioware has admitted they made a mistake, and I am not here to defend them. Star Wars is a great game, and it has a lot of code and data to make it that way. When something like this happens, it tends to make a lot of players angry - but rather than blaming Bioware perhaps you should look at it as a learning opportunity. BACK UP YOUR GAME FILES! I learned this when the game first launched. There was something goofy in my system that made it so no patch would complete (yes, it was my system, not Bioware's fault). I set up a second computer just to download patches, then I would copy the entire SWTOR folder to an external drive and then copy it to my gaming system. Other than a few things like screenshots and a little configuration information, the game client is almost completely portable. If I wanted to play on a different system, I just copied the SWTOR folder to it and it would be ready in a few minutes. So, this is my suggestion to everyone that is flaming at Bioware right now - be upset, that is human nature, but accept some of the responsibility yourself. If you had a backup of your game client, as soon as Bioware "fixed" the bad patch download you could have deleted your SWTOR folder, copied your backup back in, and been up and playing in 20 minutes. The game client is only 25-30 GB, I can find that much storage space in my bellybutton. So in conclusion, things are a mess for a bunch of people right now, but let everything get sorted out. Once your game is re-downloaded, patched, and you are one again able to immerse yourself in the best MMO out there (and yes, I do still play a few others), just remember to... BACK UP YOUR GAME FILES! May the Force be with you (once the files download again)...
  6. I have to say, I loved the title for this thread. Much better than the other ones on this subject. I have read through a number of these threads and although I understand everyone's viewpoint, the way I see it is they only priced it according to the current player driven economy. For example, on most servers, the Black/Black goes for about 2 million (I have seen posts indicating up to 5 million on other servers). You can get a cartel pack for 360 coins, and sell it for about 250,000 credits on average. Therefore if you sold 8 packs you would make enough credits to purchase the dye pack. 8 packs at 360 credits is 2,880 credits. Since buying it outright only costs 2,000 credits, they are actually saving you nearly $10.
  7. CZ-198 Application My greetings to you. I am Ardalla Bloodspeaker, Jedi Knight. I have found your recent communication intriguing, and therefore have decided to submit my credentials to your scrutiny. Although my training has prepared me to handle nearly any position, I am satisfied at this time seeking employment as a Research Contributor. I still have many things to learn from the Jedi Order, but joining the Czerka family can supplement this training with valuable experience. 1. Please tell us a little about yourself. Why do you want to be a part of the Czerka family? The Jedi order provides a single viewpoint of the universe. While that may be enough for most, my goals are much farther reaching than that. Czerka can provide a wide range of experiences and opportunities that cannot be found anywhere else in the galaxy. 2. At Czerka, we pride ourselves on our accomplishments. Please name three of your accomplishments that you are most proud of. (Please do not include family milestones such as marriages or the birth of your children.) What I have accomplished in the past is immaterial. The important question is what my next accomplishments will be – for myself and for Czerka. If you look too long at the past you will rob yourself of the future. 3. How did you go about achieving the accomplishments above. Would you say you would do "whatever it takes" for success? The Force is my ally, it will not abandon me as I will not abandon it. Together we have achieved many accomplishments, whether by diplomacy or action. Only a fool would blindly do “whatever it takes” to accomplish a goal. Before striving toward any goal, you must first look to your own limits. If you reach that limit and you have not succeeded, then you fail. Many times failure yields more information than success, and then you are better prepared for your next goal. 4. Would you say you have a strong moral compass? Do you think this could get in the way of your job, should you be asked to do something...questionable? I maintain my own moral compass, I do not care what others think of it being right or wrong. I will not betray the Jedi Order, but other than that the only way to experience everything the Universe has to offer is to get your hands dirty. 5. You are about to enjoy our wide variety of complimentary cocktails and snacks, when you notice that your esteemed colleague's newest experiment is likely to break out of their confines while you are gone. How would you handle this situation? I would be sure to inform security and other guests about the danger, and let them deal with the issue. During the ensuing panic, I would be sure to lace the snacks with a mild poison. Not enough to kill anyone, but something to give them some notable intestinal discomfort. I would perform this function as a service to Czerka. Undoubtedly most of the guests would have been smart enough to check for tampering with the food when they arrived, but if they are foolish enough not to check again after an obvious distraction then they likely do not have the awareness that a good Czerka employee should have. I look forward to hearing your response to my application. You should be able to reach me on my ship’s holocomm if you have any additional questions or information. If not, it is your loss.
  8. Yesterday I was working on getting a good screen shot of one of my characters, and I just was not happy with any of the results. I have found that screen shots taken during cut scenes are the best, but unless you have been through a scene several time you can't get that perfect shot. So my suggestion, the Czerka Immortalizer! Think of this as a photo booth. You can use tokens (maybe from the cartel market, and a few from quest rewards like the end of chapter rewards) to activate the booth. The booth then starts a cut scene with you (and perhaps your active companion). The scene shows you posing (perhaps a normal pose, a good combat pose, etc), perhaps 5 poses in all and automatically saves 5 snapshots to your screenshots folder (at the best times in the poses). It would be even nicer if one or more of the shots had your character name added and some background like the desktop wallpapers that SWTOR had made. I know there are a lot of players that really like adjusting character's appearance, and having something like this would be an awesome way to chronicle your character's advancement through the game. If it could be done with companions also (a complete group shot of all companions with you would be fabulous) I suspect it would be something that many people would enjoy. And if the tokens are sold cheaply, like 25 CC, I know I would run through a ton of them. DragonBurp - SWTOR Fashionholic
  9. I was reading a lot of negativity about the cubes being "story content" and having to be paid for. I looked at it as similar to a special edition version of a movie. You can watch the movie just fine without it, or pay a little extra and get deleted/bonus scenes and such. The Credit Boom reward I thought was great, and I immediately purchased the cubes I didn't get in my hypercrate and unlocked it on my legacy (like many others did). I agree that changing an item that was paid for with real money (for the unlocks) after it has already been released is not a good path to go down. Also, with said item taking the rare slot in cartel packs it appears to be an even larger issue with a lot of people (including myself). If some people had found a way to create a new character and move them off the starter planet before completing the story to get the Credit Boom (and thus farm money very fast), then I understand the reaction to wanting to remove the Credit Boom. However, it is very hard to put a genie back into a lamp once it is released. My suggestion (similar to one I already saw), is to restore the Credit Boom, but put a level requirement on the cube. Don't allow a character to use the cube and get the quest until they have reached the minimum level for Nar Shadda. That way, even if someone could get a toon to Nar Shadda, they would not be able to use the cube (and get the Credit Boom) until they had properly leveled their character. 200K credits (and more when the next set comes out) is not usually a huge amount to a level 55 toon, but it would be very useful for a lower level toon that is being leveled up. I would see that as a win/win situation. You get to keep the Credit Boom in to keep players happy, but they have to put in the effort to get it and thus keep playing. I would love to hear your thoughts on this, Eric. I'm not asking for a confirm/denial that it will be looked or changed, but just if you feel something like this would be a fair balance between your concerns and the player's concerns.
  10. It would appear she tried to steal from the Hutt Cartel, and although she made it out of the building she got stuck with one of the exploding dye packs...
  11. It does appear they may be making some changes to the plague. I still have 1 toon that is infected with the original plague, and I noticed he still has the debuff but since the last patch he no longer has the nice sickly green aura around him and he no longer stops from time to time and throws up (that was just too much fun to cure him of). Will be interesting to see what comes from this...
  12. Now that the Free To Play has been announced, are you considering also offering a Lifetime Subscription in addition to the current 1/3/6 month subscription model?
  13. I have had the same issue since the beta (I had to download over 300 Gigs of game files to get it to install there). Any time there is a patch larger than a few megs I run into this issue. I messed with my system settings and other things for a long time but have never been able to clear it. I have a workaround, I set up a second computer with just Windows and Star Wars. I use that system to patch and update, then I just copy the entire game folder to my gaming rig. I know it is not a bad install since that system (which is much slower than my gaming rig) has no issues updating every time. It is a pain, especially now with pathes flying left and right, but I can live with it. I hope in time they will improve the installer (like allowing you to save the downloaded install files in a separate folder), but in the mean time I will just continue to play and enjoy it.
